Great lunch spot, hidden in a corporate building. Friendly staff, Fresh baked bread and great soups. We will be back. Had the pick 2 lunch special, half sandwich, soup or Salad. Had half a chicken salad sandwich on pumpernickel with a cup of the beef/veg soup. The good: -The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. -The pumpernickel was fresh from the oven... Yum! -Fresh sandwich ingredients (the produce and condiments in particular) The not as good: -There were several "chewy" bits in the chicken salad. -No gluten-free bread options for the sandwiches. -They use styrofoam cups for the soup, even if you are dining in. -The owner/manager (maybe?) loudly talked about a lot of her personal problems to the other behind-the-counter staff so that diners could hear everything. Kind of ruins the appetite. read more

After two more visits I am adding the fifth star. Each time I have had the lunch special for $7.25 half sandwich and cup of soup. I've tried three different soups, all have been exceptional. My fave is the tomato basil, which had carrots and tomatoes cooked in......Add the provided homemade croutons and you are rocking! The sandwich meats have all been quality materials,, real turkey, roast beef tasted like it was out of mom's kitchen, just sliced and served. Highly recommend this place, you might want to avoid the 12-1 hr, if possible, all the local workers converge and its hard to find a seat. read more

Anyone who knows me knows that I love a good sammich. Imagine my delight when I found out that Adrian's Cafe is across the street from my new office! This place is my favorite lunch spot now, and rightly deserved. Their menu is limited. Soups, sandwiches, salads, and some home made deserts. All of their bread is baked fresh, in house, daily. It's also sliced (THICK) to order. Expect a choice of white, wheat, pumpernickle, rye, and others as well as 4 daily soups. Toppings for your sammich are standard, but all fresh and tasty. I'm having a hard time writing this, as I'm currently devouring a turkey club and bowl of broccoli cheese soup from here, if that's any indication of just how good it is. Lunch special for half a sammich and soup (their halves are huge) will set you back about $8. If you're anywhere near the Lenexa location and you're hungry, do yourself a favor and stop in. read more

My all time favorite sandwich shop. HUGE sandwiches, enough so that you can eat 1/2 for lunch and 1/2 for dinner. Love their steal soup and their chicken noodle soup. Best part is they don't use butter in their soup bases so I can eat them. Love to go and get the soup and sandwich combo and take the sandwich home for dinner. Their breads are baked fresh every morning and are so yummy. My favorite is the pumpernickel. My favorite sandwiches at the tuna fish and then the pastrami. If my waist line and budget would permit it I would eat here everyday. read more

I can hardly believe that there isn't a review of this great place. This location and the Antioch location are both fantastic. I've lived a handful of places, and this is still hands down my favorite sandwich place. The bread is incredibly soft, and house made. The soups were always tasty. Always a decent selections of desserts, usually brownies or carrot cake. This is a lunch place, but as far as lunch places go it should make the top of the list! read more

The previous reviews on location really helped! It is located inside the CoreFirst bank bldg. They served fresh bread and sandwiches with a nice variety of soups. The bread is cut pretty thick but is very soft, so eating it is certainly manageable. Because the bread is so thick though, I would have liked a little more meat/filling on my sandwich. They offer a couple of desserts and I would say that the carrot cake was really good. We would definitely go back if we were in the area, but wouldn't make a special trip just for lunch. read more

Terrific little sandwich shop inside a bank (CoreFirst Bank & Trust). My turkey club on a croissant was outstanding...very fresh bread, overly generous portion of turkey, tasty bacon and fresh lettuce and tomatoes cut while I'm waiting. Decent carrot cake for dessert. $14.41 for a relatively small sandwich, chips, a drink and a small dessert is a bit steep and is the reason for my 4 star rating. read more

I was in the area and hungry and wanted a non-chain restaurant so I found myself driving here. This isn't something I'd suggest going out of your way to. It's more of a "need to grab a quick weekday work lunch" type of place. The location is a little hard to spot from the road, it's actually inside of a big bank building. I passed it originally and had to double back. They serve sandwiches and three different kinds of rotating soup. I had a half sandwich and bag a chips. The bread options are white or wheat and is very thickly cut. Then followed by all the normal choices- turkey, ham, roast beef, etc. Nothing special on the condiment choices either. read more

If I'm thinking soup and sandwich, I'm thinking Adrian's Cafe. It's perfect for a quick lunch during the work week. Although, the space isn't the biggest. You might be challenged finding a seat during the busy times. One usually opens up fairly fast though. There are soup selections that I like more than another, but all of them that I've tried have been really good. Chicken noodle, baked potato, and Florentine chicken are my go to. As far as sandwiches go, they had me at freshly made bread, especially pumpernickel. You don't find that everywhere. I'm usually getting egg salad, chicken salad, or tuna salad slapped between the slices, but the pastrami on rye calls my name from time to time. The half sandwich and soup lunch special is a good portion for the price in my opinion. They don't skimp on the sandwich fillings here. read more

It's definitely hard to find at first, but luckily I went with someone that had previously gone. It's inside of a bank, but when you do find it, it's worth it! I love their homemade bread and soups. They have some really good, hearty soups like Chicken Noodle and Broccoli & Cheddar. I usually get their tuna salad sandwich, but I've also had their caesar salads which are tasty as well. I've never had anything here I didn't like. Their lemon bars are amazing too! This place reminds me of home cooked meals. Everything is fresh, clean and tasty. read more

Ok folks here is a real hole in the wall. Adrian's is located in the core bank building and unless someone takes you there you wouldn't know about it. A must go for lunch. Their soups, breads and food make it one of my top ten for this area! They nail it with great food all the time friendly folks at a great price. It is a classic hole in the wall! I first came here when I had a cold and needed a pick me up. When i got in i was greeted with kindness and patience. I asked what he recommended for a cold and he suggested the chicken noodle. I was blown away by the flavor, warmth, and chicken pieces mixed with the homemade noodles. I also got the Turkey club sandwich on the side. The sandwich was stacked with so much meat and deliciousness. It was exactly what my soul needed. I felt so much better afterward. That visit was a month ago, I've been back on average of 2 or 3 times a week since. They're soups are always delicious, the sandwiches are perfect and stuffed to the brim, the bread is delicious, and the croutons are expertly made. Would guarantee anyone they're visit and food would be delicious. I recommend this place any day of the week. read more

Great hidden eats location! Looking for a great sandwich and a bowl of soup on a cold day or any day in general???? Adrian's Cafe in the lobby of Core Bank is the place! They offer only one hot sandwich a day....yeah that's what I thought too...and I had my heart set on their Reuben but it was French Dip Friday and it was worth it! But the kicker was their Gumbo! This deli is great! The homemade soups and bread are delicious and the lunch meat is fresh and not slimy like some. My only negative comment is that there were several dirty tables and the entire dining room portion could have been cleaner. Food was spot on! I will be back. read more

This is a great lunch spot once you find it inside the Core First building. Everything I've had there has tasted fresh and delicious. This is one of my favorite places to eat during the work day. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. The bread is thick, soft, and baked fresh daily as are all the desserts. The selection of sandwich meats and fillings are varied and good for those who might want low-calorie options. My favorite sandwich is the low-fat chicken salad with a cup of soup. The soups usually change daily, but some of the best choices include the chicken and noodles, the jambalaya, and the broccoli and cheese. Fresh bakes bread, homemade soups and really tasty deli selections - who could ask more from a lunch café? The staff is always friendly, and I love the rotating soup selection with least 2 to choose from each day. The bread is tender, home-made, and with the choice of white or wheat, provides the perfect vessel for holding tuna salad, turkey or BLT sandwiches, to name a few. The soup is hearty as well. I'm a fan of the chicken and noodle but the chicken enchilada is a close second. A 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup combo is ~$7, pretty reasonable for a fresh, tasty meal. If your in the mood for desert, they have huge brownies and the best carrot cake. They even offer 1/2 portions in case you want a smaller treat. read more

Ate here for the first time today and loved it! The lady who waited on us( sorry I didn't get her name) was super helpful and friendly. We told her it was our first time there and she talked us through the menu and their specials and offered for us to try anything we were interested in. I got the half sandwich soup special with a tuna sandwich and baked potato soup and my husband got their hot speciality sandwich of the day, which was a cajon chicken flatbread, and baked potato soup. Although I drive by this place all the time, I never would have known it was here except for Yelp. I too often forget what a difference fresh, non-processed ingredients and home style preparation by people who really care can make--even for a simple soup/sandwich combo. And simple is the word; nothing too fancy or surprising in the Southwest cheddar-chicken soup (but a nice little kick), and some real foodie type might find the egg salad and chicken salad I tasted a little bland. But everything is so fresh. And that just-baked, thick-sliced homemade bread is what, for me, kicked that sandwich into a place that is out of this world. Oh, Adrian's Cafe. I dream about their soup--hearty and filling, made from scratch, in-house, perfect on a cold fall or winter day. They rotate them out, four daily, and are all yummy, but be sure to try the Santa Fe chicken & cheese--spicy, creamy-deliciousness, chicken noodle--hearty & packed with veggies, tomato basil, & broccoli cheddar. Their bread is made fresh daily and cut to order; they keep a basket of ends on the counter, free for the taking, so you can munch while you wait for your order... so delicious. The deli sandwiches are great--wonderful chicken salad, fresh sliced meats, all the trimmings, made to order. The desserts are amazing - fresh, homemade carrot cake, lemon bars, chocolate chip cookies, and like everything else, made from scratch; save room for those. Having said all of this--you MUST try their daily hot sandwiches. They have a different one each day and, since they too are made from scratch, when they are gone, they're gone. My all-time favorite Adrian's pick is the hot turkey club: baked in a full sheet pan, it layers smoked turkey, bacon, cheese and honey mustard between fresh-baked bread. It is worth the trip. *In Lenexa, it is usually the Thursday sandwich, but call ahead to check!* Their French dip is also a great, albeit very messy, sammie. They cook the roast fresh and it is served with au jus on your choice of sliced bread. I haven't tried the Reuben (not a sauerkraut fan) or the Cajun Chicken, but I'm sure they're wonderful as well... With a host of places to eat lunch, Adrian's might not have been on your radar yet, but trust me, it will be worth the effort to find them. read more

Adrian's is simply quaint and a great way to spend your 30-60 minute lunch break away from your desk. Everything is fresh and to the point. The last time I was there, I got their lunch special: half a sammie and salad (you can also get soup). I had their turkey pastrami on their wheat bread (a fresh loaf!). My lunch-buddy got the Rueben and she raved on about it. The menu is simple yet well-stated. The employees are SUPER nice and the service is quick and approachable. It's a great alternative for us folks who work around the area however I don't know if I would visit it on an otherwise different occasion. I've definitely had better sandwiches but for the location and convenience, I'd say this is a good choice! read more

It's been a while since I've had Adrian's fabulous sandwhich's and soups. But, mostly I miss finishing the meal off with one of their chocolate chip cookies. I live in another state now and nothing comes close to this little cafe. I'm going to see if I can get those cookies overnighted by the dozens. read more

This is a new location in the CoreFirst Bank. Wonderful sandwiches and salads. The cakes and cookies are also great. Great service and friendly atmosphere. You can even buy a loaf of homemade bread if you want. I've been going here for 2 years now as often as I can and I always bring a new friend or relative to experience Adrian's and now they're hooked! Keep it up, Carleen!!! Don't change a thing. read more
