(Tom Cruise voiceover disguised as luigi of Spotify's "you ME & luigi" The vibe is bespoke dining experience hidden deep in Sunnyvale. Regina warmly greeted us! She is super nice! Green Salad. My oh my healthy! Roasted hazelnuts! Quoi!? C'est merveillleuse! Lobster Karaage. I don't eat lobster, but when I do it's at Adrestia! Yeah! Wagyu Burger. Regina's fave! And every bite was perfect! Japanese Cheesecake! Yuzu! Toasted sesame! Citrus medley. Oishii desu yo! Would order everything again! Thanks, Regina! Woohoo!

One-Plate Washoku

Beautiful, modern spot inside the Tetra Hotel! We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. The menu is small but interesting, with something for everyone. Tried the Fundamental Breakfast and the One-Plate Washoku -- the Washoku stole the show! It totally reminded us of Japan (and we LOVE Japan). Service was on point -- coffee refills without asking, friendly check-ins from both our waiter and the manager, and just good vibes all around. Highly recommend for a delicious, relaxing breakfast!

Mixed Green Salad

Great food!! The wagyu burger is amazing. Perfectly cooked, high quality meat, soft delicious bun, solid bacon, can't ask for more! Mixed green salad was super fresh and dressing was very light yet tasty. The empanada was also very good, meat inside cooked to medium, which was a nice touch. It's a bit pricy for the amount of food you get but oh well. Service was decent, polite but not super knowledgeable (she called the chimichurri sauce "salsa verde" ) and a bit slow. Ambiance is ok, it's in a hotel lobby so it's only going to be so great, but it's a nice set up and nice decor.

Standard Breakfast. Apple chicken sausage, fried potatoes, and croissant instead of toast.

3 stars instead of 4 based upon service. Waitress was aloof and disinterested. Asked what I wanted to drink and I said coffee and water. Coffee came but no water. Didn't see her again for awhile. Had to flag down someone else. When ordering food, she asked if I wanted butter and jelly with the croissant. I said sure, why not. Breakfast came and with butter but no jelly. Restaurant was not busy so I can't explain the poor service. Food was good but not great. Potatoes were the highlight. Would only eat here again in a pinch or for convenience.

Short ribs, mash potatoes and root vegetables

The photo I added really doesn't do the food justice but I cannot stress enough how much we loved this restaurant. The ambiance had a very chill, calm, relaxing upscale vibe. Which was so welcoming considering I had spent the day at standford and needed to decompress. The staff was wonderful, we kind of looked a little disheveled from a day of traveling and being at the hospital so both my husband and I didn't look like we were on a date more like we rolled out of bed and came down stairs for food. However, the staff was magnificent regardless of how we looked. The food, I have yet to have short ribs melted like butter before but these did! They were on the fatty side, so keep this in mind that this is a rich meal, but so worth the calories. The mash potatoes were whipped & creamy with some sort of sauce I couldn't name but I wasn't mad at it. The dish also came with "root vegetables" I have no idea what root vegetable it was.. but they tasted great. My husband ordered the wagu burger and fries, best burger he's ever had. 10/10 we will be back.

I had breakfast here for five consecutive days and was very satisfied. The restaurant is located in the lobby of the Tetra Hotel. During our visit, there were very few people, creating a great dining environment. The service staff were warm and attentive. Over the five days, we tried different breakfast dishes, and each one was excellent. Both the presentation and taste were outstanding.

Had a staycation at the hotel and was excited to try the restaurant on site. We came for dinner time. It wasn't that packed but it's a pretty dim setting- although I liked the high ceilings. I'm giving 4 stars for service and 3.5 stars for food overall. I did have to flag waitress a few times but for the most part staff was attentive. They are great about refilling water. Food wasn't bad but just a little personal preferences that weren't met. Scallops were the best dish in my opinion. I liked all the textures and flavor. Burrata wasn't bad but the toast felt too "bready" and a little dry. I've had burrata at several different places and just felt could be paired with a different type of bread. However the tomato salad they served with was a hidden boost of flavor. I could probably order that alone. Waygu burger. I ordered medium rare and it was pretty done and not juicy at all. The bottom bun was soggy so I ended up just using fork and knife. Also patty was pretty thick. Fries were plentiful and crispy. Steak was really good and cooked perfectly. The smashed potato crisps were an interesting concept. It was soft but crispy and seasoned just right . The drinks I was a little disappointed. The taste was there but the amount of ice didn't feel like I had enough drink for the price point.

We had high hopes for Adrestia but left underwhelmed and frustrated. Despite having reservations on a slow weekday, service was disorganized from the start, not sure if it was because we were a larger group (8)? We waited a long time to be greeted, and our server seemed confused--when ordering a spicy margarita with mezcal, she asked if that meant no vodka. Drinks took over 20 minutes, (we got a mix of their speciality cocktails, basic cocktails and wine) arriving after our appetizers, and two were wrong. Half the table got steak ($100 ribeye) which came out at the wrong temperatures, and we had to sort it out ourselves. Our server checked in only once, near the end. For over $1,000, the food was decent (scallops were good and I appreciated them making us an off menu pasta dish), but the service was terrible. Not worth it.

Wagyu Burger

Service was good, friendly and attentive. Cocktails were good too. Food was lackluster. For appetizers, we got chicken karaage that had thick breading and chicken wasn't as juicy as we would have liked, especially for the price. Entrees were the wagyu burger and wagyu short rib. We asked for the burger to be medium rare but it came well done, and the fries that came with the meal were just okay. The short rib was tender but also a little bit dry for wagyu. In the end, when we asked for our leftovers to be packed, they did not pack our French fries. :(

Came here for a girl's dinner and loved the vibes of the restaurant, although food fell a little short, with some tasty dishes but also some subpar dishes as well. Located in a hotel, central to the tech neighborhood - it was bustling outside, although a little quiet and empty inside the restaurant. Albeit my friend & I did set for an earlier dinner (around 5pm) which was prob. why it was a bit more quiet. The interior was very nice - modern with some rustic touches, and menu overall seemed to encompass new American fare. Service was fine, overall quick but nothing out of the ordinary - we kind of knew what we wanted to order so no recommendations were really given or needed. Let's Dig In: (1) Little Gem Salad - fair overall, nothing unique or special from what I remember but def. lacking something. (2) Lobster Sando - was super excited for this, but it was actually very underwhelming. Sadly came out to us lukewarm, while the flavor was very monotonous (just tasted like Sriracha mayo) and couldn't really taste the lobster at all. (3) Cornbread - this was super tastyyy! Cornbread came out nice and warm, also loved the house butters on the side which added a bit more salt & creaminess to it. (4) Steak - sadly overcooked and slightly tough as well, flavor was OK nothing special while the plating did look a bit sad. The mashed potato and spinach sides were unmemorable. (5) Branzino - this was pretty good, the fish had a super crispy skin and we liked that it was filleted for us so we didn't have to pick around the bones. The salad on top was refreshing, and sauce was nice and light. (6) Chai Panna Cotta - this was OK, it was very tasty in the beginning but did start to get a bit too sweet after the first few bites. The chai flavor was nice and strong though, which we loved.

Wagyu burger
Steven R.

Adrestia's ambiance and service set a high bar from the moment you walk in. The modern decor and welcoming staff create a great first impression. I ordered the Wagyu Burger, which I had high hopes for. While the toppings were fantastic--crispy bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, and creamy avocado adding a nice richness--the patty itself fell short. I was expecting a tender, flavorful wagyu patty, but the meat was disappointingly tough and lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for. It wasn't a bad burger, just not the standout I anticipated. On the bright side, the French fries were a highlight. I ordered them crispy, and they arrived perfectly golden with a satisfying crunch. They paired wonderfully with the burger and helped elevate the meal.

Overall I'd give this place a 3.5 I was excited to try this place, it has influences of Japanese cuisine mixed with American food. The ambiance: It's an elevated and classy space within the hotel, but you do feel very much in a hotel lobby still because the "walls" have slats so you can see into the lobby. To me, I think the restaurant ambiance would have benefitted from some seclusion and to feel more private at a restaurant versus feeling like you're in a hotel. The food: - burrata and toast - good flavor overall and the sauce that came with it really added to the combo - cornbread - I like that the cornbread has pieces of corn in it, it's an average cornbread but it's one of their more well known dishes. It comes with two types of butter, one of which is a miso butter, which I enjoyed - mini lobster sando: one of their most popular dishes so we had to try it! It says it comes on their milk bread but I expected it to be a bit fluffier. I love a good lobster sandwich but I felt it was good but nothing special, the lobster was slightly overcooked and the mayo spread with it didn't add much - brussel sprout risotto: I didn't care for this risotto, the risotto itself lacked a lot of flavor and the brussel sprouts lacked seasoning, it needed some salt and pepper The service: Service was good, our server was very attentive! Other things to note: - there is parking for the hotel in the garage and you can give your parking ticket to your server to validate (aka easy and free parking!) - we made a reservation but it wasn't super busy on a Saturday evening

Skillet Cornbread

Not a bad restaurant for being located inside a hotel but probably not somewhere I would frequent again in the future... I came with a party of 4 at ~6:15pm and were seated with no problems. The restaurant itself is basically a part of the TETRA hotel lobby and there's no specific sign telling you where the restaurant is either. Nonetheless, ambiance was nice overall plus you get parking validated too. We decided to do family style and ordered 4 small plates plus an entree to share. Unfortunately, they were all out of the hamachi crudo already despite us not even having a late dinner, so we ended up with just 3 small plates. In hindsight, we should've ordered one additional entree because the amount of food was simply not enough. Skillet Cornbread: This was delicious and I loved that it had corn kernels inside. It was paired with both a honey butter and a miso butter, both of which were hits with the table. Cold Smoked Beef Carpaccio: This dish came with tea leaf salad plus a few breadstick croutons that paired well with the carpaccio. Solid appetizer though we would have rather had the hamachi instead if we had to pick between the two (but to each their own). Mini Grilled Lobster Sando: This was probably the highlight of the meal! These mini sandos were buttery, perfectly toasted, and filled with delicious lobster. The miso aioli that came on the side was great for dipping too. Tempura Whole Fish (Thai Snapper for us): While this entree was tasty, it was a bit of a letdown in terms of the price point and how much food it ended up being. There were only about 8 "fish stick" sized pieces of tempura fish, and I wish it came with more of the Korean BBQ glaze as well for added flavor.

Romantic vibe

I've had the pleasure of visiting Restaurant Gish twice now. I was first introduced to it in August…read moreand came back the following month in September because the experience was so interesting, and the rotating menu concept makes me excited to see what they come up with next. The funny thing is that this place is tucked into a plaza where I've literally gotten my nails done before and somehow walked right past it without noticing. There's plenty of parking in the back, too, so don't let the unassuming plaza fool you. This is a hidden gem worth seeking out! The restaurant itself is intimate, dark, and moody, with simple intentional design details. The open-concept kitchen adds to the experience, and sitting at the bar is officially on my list for next time. I can only imagine how fun it would be to watch the chefs work their magic up close. Definitely a date-night kind of spot. The food is what really sets Gish apart. The menus are creative, seasonal, and full of interesting fusion combinations. I like to think of it as food science: taking familiar ingredients, playing with textures, and transforming them into something you probably wouldn't have thought of yourself. Every course feels thoughtfully constructed, and it's clear that a lot of time and creativity goes into putting the menu together. Full disclosure: sometimes I think the chefs' palates are a few levels more advanced than mine. I've had prix fixe elsewhere that I personally enjoyed more, but that's not to say Gish isn't doing something special. Some of the flavor combinations are unexpected, and the experience pushes you to try things you might not normally order. I really appreciate the thought and technique behind the dishes, even when every combination isn't personally my favorite. It's great to have a dinner companion that isn't picky. Another thing I've never personally experienced at a restaurant before is having only two dinner seatings: 5 PM and 8 PM. It definitely adds to the novelty of the experience! Both times I've visited, the meal has lasted around two hours, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the courses and a couple of drinks. The food comes out at a nice pace, with very little downtime between courses, and the servers are attentive without making you feel rushed. I also love that there are add-ons available if you want a little more than what's included in the prix fixe menu. I've opted for extras on both visits, and it's nice to have that flexibility. The wine pairing is a great add-on if you want the full experience, but ordering wine by the glass is also a nice option. The servers are knowledgeable and do more than just bring out your food -- they explain each dish and are happy to answer questions, which makes the experience much more engaging. One thing I like to do is to keep a menu at the table to reference what's in each meal. It's truly shocking how they transform ingredients. A heads-up: Gish is on the pricier side compared to portion size so to me, this is more for the experience rather than somewhere to go when you're starving. That said, if you're curious about creative cuisine and appreciate the thought behind each course, it's a fun way to try something different. They post their menus on their website, so you can check out what's being served before you go. Will post about my bar seating experience next time. Already wishing to go back.

I'll start by saying our server really elevated our experience. The food was mediocre at best, but Jeremy really provided top notch service. He was very friendly and attentive and made us feel like we were at a fancy restaurant. The whole restaurant was empty during our entire meal (it was a weeknight), but the bar was busy! I'm not sure why there wasn't a physical drink menu, but Jeremy was able to offer us beer and wine suggestions based on our preferences and we enjoyed our drinks Peery's salad- pretty big portion. we paid extra to add salmon, which was nicely crisped on the exterior and tasted good. The salad leaves just didn't taste all that fresh, and I didn't like the lime vinaigrette. Tomato Soup- It's kind of hard to make bad tomato soup, but somehow this was accomplished. I thought it tasted too watered down, and my husband thought it was too sweet. Burger was mediocre, a bit overcooked, but otherwise bun was soft enough and toppings were adequate. At the end of the meal, Jeremy surprised us with a little treat after overhearing our daughter's birthday was recent. This man deserves a raise! In terms of the food, I think totally a great option if you're staying at the Hilton, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Yikes! Stayed at the hotel this past weekend for a birthday staycation and was excited to try this…read morerestaurant. I dined with my daughter Friday night (08/28). It wasn't busy so I was surprised at how awful the service was. The young man who seated us looked like he hated life. I should've known that his vibe was only the beginning. Our evening went downhill from there...After our order was taken, and our food brought out, we never saw our server again. I finished my prosecco and never got the opportunity to order a second glass. Eventually, I told my 6-year-old to wait while I went and asked for a dessert menu. At which point I mentioned that we never saw our server. The woman at the stand handed me dessert menus and said someone would be with us shortly. A different server came and took our dessert order. But after dessert was brought to us, once again we were ignored. When I tell you that we could've gotten up and left and never paid, nobody would have noticed. That's how much we were ignored. I was fucking pissed at this point. I got up with my child to go complain when the server quickly noticed and asked if everything was ok...fuck no it's not ok! Quickly gave him my room number and said that the evenings service was atrocious. And we walked away. And if the service was bad, the food was worse. When I tell you a DiGiorno pizza is better than their rendition of a margarita pizza, it's not an exaggeration. My pizza literally had four tiny sprigs of basil. And their olive paste garnish on it is unnecessary. Their twist on the margarita pizza was not appetizing. I can't complain about their fries though. It was basically the only thing we ate that we enjoyed. Their guacamole was rough too. Lacked flavor. The dessert was the biggest disappointment, food-wise. It appeared to be a brownie baked on a chocolate chip cookie, cut into a pie slice. It was HARD. I gave up trying to get my spoon through it. Needed a steak knife. The ice cream was fine. After this experience, we decided we would not be eating at the restaurant for the rest of our time at the hotel. We went and picked up food or ordered in. The bartenders seemed nice, but once the afternoon hit, my daughter had to wait over 30 minutes for a Shirley Temple to be brought to the pool. After waiting too long I decided to get up and go to the bar and ask what was going on. Her Shirley Temple was sitting there at the bar, and they had accidentally put it in a typical glass, which is not permitted at the pool. The bartender apologized because the server who had taken my order at the pool, did not relay to the bartender that the order was for the pool area. All in all, I would never eat here again. As a local, it's disappointing because the ambience is nice. But the food is overpriced and not even close to being good. And as for the service? My God. This was officially the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. Ever. When the manager of the hotel asked how our stay was, I casually mentioned that the restaurant was lacking in a lot of ways. But I didn't expand on the experience. However, I was surprised to see that the manager had taken off the meals from the charges to my room when I checked out. And I sincerely appreciate that. I never asked for it, but was appreciative as it was unexpected. Bottom line. The hotel is a nice stay, and I plan on staying again. But you couldn't pay me to eat at that restaurant.
