We were seated right away but then it was 20 minutes before anyone came by to take our drink order. We ordered appetizers right away. Drinks came, appetizers came; both were good. Then we sat. Finally,the server came by and we ordered another round of drinks and our dinners. Dinner took forever, probably because the server was outside of the bathroom, on her phone. When we finally received our dinners, one entree had 1 correct side and the side for a 2nd entree. The 2nd entree received the wrong side, plus their 2nd side was on the plate of the 1st entree. My medium rare filet was medium, at best and dry...probably because it sat under the heat lamps waiting for the server to get off her phone. The crab cake on top of the filet was dry and there was a dollop of hollandaise on it; not enough to run down the side of the cake, much less the filet. All of the steaks had no seasoning/flavor. The potatoes were dry and bland. I was thankful I ordered creamed spinach so I could dip my filet in it to moisten it up so I could choke it down. Why didn't I send it back? Because I would still be sitting there. I came from out of state and it was more important to eat with my family than make them wait for me. The second round of drinks never came but they were sitting at the bar. We finished our dinners, what we could finish, and canceled the drink order. After all, we ordered the drinks when we ordered the dinner. The busser was the only one working and we flagged him down consistently. After we canceled our drinks we waited. Finally, we flagged down the busser and asked for our check. Any time we needed something, he found our server. Very disappointing experience for food and service, with the exception of the busser. Called a couple weeks later and spoke too the "manager" who was not very apologetic and seemed offended I was calling about a complaint... Food not that great especially for the price.. Finally made it here. Really liked it. Everything excellent quality. The really good Greek style lemon chicken soup was outstanding. I had a 14 oz Ribeye which was very good quality, cooked exactly as I asked and was presented very nicely with grilled asparagus and some super good fries. We asked for recommendations for a restaurant doing curbside pickup for an in-home date night and Addison's Steakhouse was on the list. Their COVID website is easy to find their pickup menu (they even have a separate link for family menu). We were able to to order at 6pm on a Friday night and told our food would be ready in 25 minutes. We pulled up to a large sign letting us know to call to tell them we were there and within 4 minutes had our food and pulling away. We ordered one appetizer, one burger and one entree. Addison's steakhouse has been open almost 3 months. After wondering if any restaurant will work long term along this stretch of highway we decided to take the plunge. We enjoy supporting local businesses anytime we can over chains and we weren't disappointed here. I recommend this place for a very good steak meal. The prices are very reasonable for this caliber of food. We had the filet, ribeye, sautéed veggies, mushrooms, the crab oscar sauce and we tried the stuffed shrimp by recommendation of our server. I added a lobster tail to the steak and that didn't go so well. However, I can't say anything bad about the meal. Service is good, it was full at 630 and lively enough for my liking. They are trying to also combine a bit of a sports bar theme with tv's around the restaurant and a small bar in the back. I like sports so much appreciated here. I've seen some reviews about the tables and butter but I like sweet butter and the real wood and gas pipe motive hits the mark in my book. Although the lobster tail didn't work out, which by the way, even fine steak houses mess up from time to time, the steaks and rest of the meal still score high marks. We ordered a bottle of red wine which was fantastic as well. We have gone to Paisanos and Bimbos in the area and I will tell you this menu looks better especially on the variety. A friend of mine and I went out for Valentines Day dinner. I have been here a few times more for dinks and appetizers never had a bad thing to say about this restaurant. However, due to COVID reservations were limited but, we were able to eat in bar section. I must say the appetizers, and dinner were AMAZING everything was made perfectly. We had steaks and they were perfectly cooked. My friend it was his first time there and definitely will be coming back. The service was amazing, always checking on us to make sure we were good. Bartender was fabulous with the cocktails. Over all great experience. One thing I would suggest is the owner; especially that night would had been nice if he went around each table and greeted his customers and introduced himself to thank all his customers for coming in. Second time going here. Was hoping the first time was a fluke that they didn't understand how to run a restaurant however after going a second time I will not ever go back. They do not season any steaks or vegetables. Also their side portion of mushrooms is not worth the money. 1/4 cup (being generous) of mushrooms barely enough for a steak and certainly not for more than one person like our server said. All steaks were asked to be medium rare, only one came out medium rare and the person who ordered that asked for medium. The rest were medium bordering on well. Seasonings don't cost much but not even salt or pepper on the steaks. Bill was high and food was awful. Never again! Save your money and go to Texas Roadhouse or Jameson's at least they can cook. We have been going to Addison's for a few years and have loved it up until the past couple of months. The charcuterie board, soups, salads and rolls are always good; however, and unfortunately, every dish we have tried (at least three different visits in past 3 months) has been horrible! Over salted, undercooked or overcooked and the service is now lacking severely. When I am paying ~$90-100 per dinner, I have a lot higher expectations. This place was out of control good. As someone who has spent his life in restaurants please take my word for it. The bartender Kelly was amazing. She didn't miss a beat. I heard her ask every single person she worked with if they needed anything. All while very busy. Real leadership. Whatever example she was setting was obviously having a positive effect because I saw that same excellence in the other members of the waitstaff. And outstanding kindness. All of the people here were insanely kind to one another and the customers. I literally could've sworn that every employee was like related or something. They acted like they had worked together for a hundred years. And that couldn't be possible because the kid expertly polishing glassware in front of me was like 17. Great steaks, cooked perfectly as ordered with delicious sides. This is a solid choice for a quality dinner, and from my experience they definitely have the best steaks available in McHenry. My husband had a rib eye with double potatoes for his side (mashed and potato pancake) and I went with the Stuffed Dover on special! We had a party of 8 on the first night indoor dining was allowed again. The service was good but the food was Great! I ordered the filet with blue cheese crust which did not disappoint, with green beans that were cooked just right and baked potato. It came with soup or salad, I chose the lemon chicken soup and it was delicious. I should have gotten a quart to go! Others had the clam chowder which they raved about. I saw the prime rib grinder and it looked SO good. I will for sure be trying that at some point. Everyone enjoyed their food, we will definitely be back. My wife and I went to Addison's Steakhouse this past weekend on a somewhat rainy day. We called ahead to see if they will be having outdoor seating. They said since if is not raining, we will dry your table off and have it ready. When we got there, it was misting, but we were still able to eat outside as I do not feel comfortable eating inside yet. We were greeted so happily by Hannah S, who said I don't mind at all serving you folks out in the misting rain. Hannah took our order and I explained to her that I was on a low salt diet, and she made sure to relay that to the chef to make sure my food would not have any extra salt added to it and she also help my make my meal choice. When we got our food, Hannah said that the Chef made a fresh Marsella sauce just for me. I really felt special that first of all the Chef would do that but also Hannah brought up my situation to the Chef. Needless to say, that my Chicken Marsella and my wife's Chicken & Artichokes were both off the charts. Hats off to the chef and his staff and a special thanks to Hannah who took great care of us.
