I planned on being a NEW, BIG $40+ TIPPING CLIENT by patronizing your business. My daughter and I were referred to your business and was told to ask for Layla and another nail tech. So I went on Yelp to see pictures customerS nails besides the nails of the person who referred us. I wanted to see the quality and creativity of work their work. We were impressed so we drove 35 mins to get our nails done. We came in and asked for Layla and the other tech and was told by Layla she was booked. She didn't seem interested in offering another date and time when she would be available. So I opted out and told my daughter if she wanted to get hers done she could. I called today and ask to schedule an appointment with Layla. Layla gets on the phone and grills me about who referred her etc. I explained to her the time my daughter and I came in and she was booked. She was non interested and unprofessional in scheduling an appointment. If you only want to do your REGULAR CLIENTS nails and not build NEW business by welcoming new clients, a new client who tips beyond 50% then you should let all customers knows this AND you should tell your regular clients to not refer you to new people. Never judge a book by its cover. My daughter and I would've tipped you $50 a piece but the way you treat potential new clients is that rude and disrespectful. So thank you. This place is a hidden gem. I almost don't want to tell anyone about it so that I can keep getting in and out quickly. I waited until I had gone back a second time before writing a review. I've been getting gel manicures and regular pedicures here and I'm really pleased with both. My polish hasn't chipped at all on my fingers and I'm going into my third week. Something to note: Cash is preferred here, as using your card will incur a $2 fee. I found the nail salon on yelp after my nail tech cancelled on me. I was very happy with the work. Ben was the one that did my nails and I got stiletto nails done with the colored acrylic. I am very pleased with my nails my only thing I would say to increase business is to let customers know all the options they have. I wouldn't have known that they had the colored acrylics if the young lady that was sitting at the station next to me hadn't told me. Other than that the wait was very short and it was very clean!!! I stopped in this shop on a Wednesday after work. I called ahead of time and was told that I could not make an appointment. Luckily when I walked in, I was serviced right away for a refill and repair. The first thing I look at with shops is cleanliness, and this place is so/so. I was a little confused when I saw the small amount of polishes they had to choose from on the wall, but once seated, the nail tech gave me a color wheel with more gel polishes to choose from. I never used gel polish until then, but I'm assuming it dries faster. I did not get gel nails, but she said I could use the polish for the same price. Each booth had the UV lights so I was able to dry as she polished. Overall, I was pleased with my nails when they were freshly done. I am a week in and they have some scratches/chips. I think I prefer regular OPI polish because it will last longer, but I was pleased with the whole process taking 35 minutes, including drying. I paid $18 for a fill and fix, so I'd say they are pretty affordable for the basics. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST! I was fooled by all the wonderful reviews and came to Addison Nails. It was closer to home than the salon I usually frequent. I was told as soon as I entered that if I used my debit/credit card there would be a $2 service charge....I happened to have cash with me and from the reviews I read I just knew I was going to get the best pedicure ever. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I was in the chair and told I could leave in a total of 20 minutes. Trust me, my feet needed way more time and attention than that. She polished my nails slid my sandals on and said I was done. My toes looked so bad that after I paid my $20 cash I jumped in my car and drove straight to Marlow Heights to Mink Nails where I got a perfect pedicure....and paid with my debit card...no service charge. This place is horrible judging from my experience. I just moved to the area around 6 months ago and I have been avoiding getting my nails done because I did not want someone to just throw crap on my hands which is what happened at this location. I researched reviews and this was the best place in the area. I came here after work, it was getting dark. It was hard to find the location because its literally tucked away in the cut. I go in and get my feet done first then my nails. My nails are where the issue began. The nail tech piled soooo much acrylic on my fingers it was disgusting. I then tell her I would like them thinner. She starts to explain that its my fault because I didn't tell her.. Wait ?? am I not the customer...that was a key question you should ask instead of ASSUMING I want big disgusting chunky nails. Oh and none of my nails were even or the same width. My middle finger had so much acrylic that it was on my skin. Oh and how can I forget my cuticles were nipped at of course by the electric file. The entire time I had to keep stopping her to fix things. My pinkey was bigger than the other and I asked her to make it skinnier like the other and she raised her voice and told me she couldn't because it would hit my skin(which is what she was doing the whole entire time anyway), so i nicely took the file and did it myself. I asked for my nails matte and they gave me this crappy matte which was shiny in 3 days. At the end I tipped her $10 because that is the last tip or money that place will ever get from me. read more

There's a wait at each and I have only received mediocre jobs. This place is the best so far. My only complaint is they seem to be so good and popular you always have to wait or you have to book weeks in advance for a particular nail tech. I did a walk-in and I had Quin. Waited about 30 minutes. She did a bang up (great) job on my nails. I was so happy to finally walk out of a nail salon with quality work. She was very meticulous and thorough. I just had a regular manicure and 1 tip added (I broke 1 nail right before my vacation). I always tipped her well and retained a respectful disposition. I asked one small question about the shape of my nails and she starting sucking teeth and catching an attitude. I then took out my ear buds and asked if she was having a problem...she then toned down. If management reads this post, I understand from time you receive undesirables as customers, but please help the Technicians to understand nail servicing is just that, a service which requires administering customer service. I've been going here for about 2 and a half years. When I first moved here and was in search of a new nail tech, I luckily ended up with Layla. She is appointment-only but apparently the stars aligned for me that day and since they were really busy she took a walk-in (me)! I was so hype to have found a new nail lady on my first try (that never happens). I'm very particular, to the point that some of the other nail techs won't even take me if Layla isn't there. The ONLY person I go to for my pedicure is Tina. The pedicures are only $20 and sometimes I add paraffin wax for $8. Great price, to the point, definitely not a relaxing fancy pedicure but she shapes my toenails exactly how I like and when I get gel polish on my toes it lasts a full month or longer. The shop is hard to find and definitely not modern, it's dark and all the other nail techs (except Layla, Bamboo and Annie who also do a good job) have bad attitudes. They don't do a lot of designs but if you're looking for simple, quality work at a great price then I highly suggest one of the above mentioned names. If I could rate Layla and Tina alone I'd give 6 stars, but sometimes I would really love the wine, fancy pedicure and nice view vibes, so I give it 4. read more

Finding a clean, friendly, and efficient nail salon is a struggle. If the the staff is friendly, then the service is subpar. If the service is excellent, then the staff is cold and unprofessional. Recently, I was in the DC area and needed a quick gel fill-in. So I tried Addison Nails. The exterior is so dark that they appear to be closed, and the iron barred windows are even less inviting. My experience began by the gentleman cutting my nail so badly that I could barely type or make a fist without grimacing. At this moment, my cuticle is still red and swollen. (After leaving, I properly cleaned and dressed the wound.) My polish was not evenly painted, and the tech failed to coat the entire surface of the nails with polish. I could have done a better job at home. Also I would like to confirm a statement made by another yelp reviewer. Yes, this salon refuses services in a very unprofessional and off-putting manner. I will not return to this nail salon, and I do not recommend it. The salon itself is lacking, I was worried about the sterility of the tools and the over all station. Their UV lamp was really dusty and hadn't been wiped off in ages. Also it was dark in there and dirty. Not sure why they had blackout windows. Also any salon that doesn't have their prices clearly posted is also sketchy. Addison Nails has by far the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. When I entered it was NOT WELCOMING AT ALL. A friend recommended them so I'm like ok (I did like her nails) so I said I'll try them out. I sat down 1st.the towels were very old and raggedy and. It to mention the foot bowl was very small and the seats were NOT COMFORTABLE. Cool no biggie. As the lady (I didn't catch her name but she had a very high cheek bone structure). She did an ok job on my feet however I noticed my toe nail wasn't filed evenly (I noticed this after she applied 1 later of polish). I asked her to correct it and she immediately caught an attitude. (again I let it slide). Let me also mention that they do not file and or clip your toe nails they only clip the cuticle area. I was like what. Again no biggie because I go every 2 weeks. She then filed my toe nail with the polish still there in which he filings got on the polish (white specs) so I asked her to remove the polish. Again another attitude. As she was finished I said there goes her tip. On to the lady that was about to do my nails. Mind you I just removed my nails for a new full set and we all know how that looks when you self remove. Most of the nail salons that I've been to, they would at least semi file your nails evenly before they applied a new set. The (lady with the Dora the Explorer bob) looked at me like I asked her to do a full manicure. Enough was enough. I paid for my wack ass pedicure and left. I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS SALOND AGAIN. I should have known better when I saw the dark windows upon entering. Sick and tired of some Koreans not having great customer service. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE.
