Earlier someone posted that their experience wasn't so pleasant. I'm never one to speak up on a platform but I definitely needed to especially considering I go to ACR once a week. I went today Monday June 1, 3:35pm staff was great! Seems they are busy and had a shelf full of online/pick-up orders. I typically walk in and see what they have to offer and buy 5lbs on average. When I asked the lady at the front she gladly went to look, unfortunately they didn't have Colombia in the medium roast, but that makes sense! Colombia is a Hot Hot item! They are also a smaller roastery, I bet it takes the staff plenty of time to get a solid roast for all those different coffees, so I never nag them for not having the coffee. The coffee is great, it's local, best of all, it's fresh. She gave great alternatives to my pallet, as I love a light and medium roast, but I need a large quantity. I got the Ethiopian Guji, usually my second choice, and she packed it right up for me. I was in and out in 5 min. They do sell soaps like someone in the reviews said, but it's just a couple, alongside with a minimal amount of merchandise on their shelves. Monday afternoon staff provided dismissive service... I've been a customer here for + 5 years, and I genuinely enjoy their coffee beans, which is why I keep coming back. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing. I called ahead to confirm that my order was ready for pickup, and I was told everything was set. However, when I arrived, the staff member informed me that the order had not been started and that they did not have it available. I told her that was okay and that I was willing to wait. What bothered me most was the customer service. The staff member rolled her eyes, and walked away several times without explaining what was happening. When the coffee bags were finally brought out, she walked away again, I still needed to complete payment and receive a receipt. Despite trying to get assistance, I was ignored until I stopped her and asked directly. I've had mostly positive experiences here with the coffee beans over the years, so this interaction stood out for the wrong reasons. I hope management can provide additional customer service training to ensure customers feel acknowledged and respected. read more

I had been buying their coffee beans for years. Back when they were in Sir Elliott's Tobacco shops. I would drink flavored coffees all day long. Anyway, I would always buy several of the 3 lb bags of coffee in many different flavors every month. Sir Elliott's would give bonuses/free bags for so many purchases. Unfortunately, they closed down after the pandemic. A couple of years ago I made the trip to Addison specifically to go to the coffee shop. Well, although it smelled good inside, when I got home and opened the highlander grogg, I was very disappointed, then pissed. It was not good at all. I don't know I what I had, but it was not what I highlander grogg flavor. I called the store but that was a waste of time. 3 1/2 years later, that bag is still in my pantry. It had no flavor. Even since we bought a house and moved further away we STILL will only get our coffee from here. The service is exceptional, the staff will use "foodie" terms when describing the coffee but not in a patronizing way, and they're honestly great people to learn about coffee from! Everything is roasted in house, and they serve as a supplier to many local restaurants and even Central Market. I've only ever had an excellent experience here, and I tell everyone I know about it! If you are looking to get your usual but also try something new, they will give you great recommendations based on where your palate is at, and will often give you a small sample to go of whichever beans you want to try... very cool! I was in the area and stopped by. I wanted to finally give them a try. It is a small spot with bags on display behind the counter along with simple syrups. Andrew was amazing. He was patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. After telling him a bit about my preferences and coffee quirks, he was able to share with me what he felt would be up my alley along with answering my other curiosities that came up while perusing. I walked away with three bags: Sumatra, Brazilian French Roast and their signature Premium roast. He even gave me a bit of a batch that was over roasted on the level of double French roast after I mentioned I prefer a dark, French roast. I appreciate all of the time he took with me. Located just off beltline in Addison although can be a little difficult to find. But once you do you'll be happy you discovered A.R. The choices they have are plenty to satisfy everyone I believe. Many types of roasting flavors and custom orders are offered. They discount beans that don't sell after 2 weeks of roasting which is still fresher than any store bought stuff. That's usually what I buy for the office brew. Friendly and helpful staff is ready and eager to help you along the way. I always have questions to steer me in the right direction. The lady I spoke with was rude, didn't act like she had time to deal with me, told me they might have some Holiday Panettone in a few weeks. Towards the end of the Holiday season? She further wouldn't let me speak to anyone else. I sent an email about my experience but got no response. There was a time when Addison Coffee Roasters provided coffee to Sir Elliott's tobaccoo stores. Oh my! I would make quarterly trips to the store just to purchase the coffee. I would spend hundreds of dollars and get my cards punched for freebies (old shoppers knows what I'm talking about). At Christmas time I would more than triple my usual purchases because I wanted to share my favorite coffees with family and friends. I used to love, love, love Addison Coffee products and drive over 30 miles to get it! But something happened; Sir Elliott's Tobacco closed their stores. I was so devastated. So, a couple of years after their closing a bell went off in my head and I went to the actual location of Addison Coffee Roasters to buy may favorite coffees. But wait, something happened; The coffee was not as flavorful. I am not sure of what happened, but it is not as good. I think they started cutting corners by not adding as much flavor, syrup, oil or whatever and however it's done, into the coffees. I have bought a couple of pounds of coffee lately (Nov 2022), still not impressed. I am surely on the lookout for new roasters that have my favs like, highlander grogg, blueberry, cinnamon nut cookie, hazelnut cream, Texas pecan, creme brulee, sinful nut delight, Jamaican me crazy, I could go on and on. That's how I would shop and there were many more to the list. What is a coffee lover to do. Great little shop with a variety of coffee and tea. For 6.50, I got a half pound of a dark Costa Rican blend coffee, which tastes amazing. Not being an expert on coffee by any means (more of a tea person) even I could taste a huge difference between that and the stuff I normally drink. If you like fresh coffee look no further then this place. Of course finding it can be a bit of a challenge. It's stuck back in a non-descript office park off of beltline road. However once you do find it, you have found the promised land. They sell a good variety of freshly roasted coffee beans and tea. Anything that is on the shelf has been roasted within two weeks, but most of it tastes as if it were roasted yesterday. Each bean is roasted to it's optimal temp and done perfectly. My favorite is the Ethopian bean, followed by Kenya then probably Sumatra which the true coffee drinkers know that the birthplace of the coffee bean was Ethiopia. They sell whole beans and of course will grind it for you. They usually have a sample of brewed coffee to taste but this is in no way a coffee house, they do not sell coffee by the cup or make coffee for you. This is for bean and tea purchases only. I've been using Addison Coffee Roasters for a few years. They have a great variety of coffees. My wife likes their flavored coffees, especially the Mexican Chocolate. If you drink decaf, they have most of their coffees in decaf. Most importantly, they don't use any chemicals to decaffeinate their coffee, they use the water process. I order mine online or get it from a shop in Fredericksburg, TX (kitchen store). It's cheaper at the kitchen store because I don't have to pay shipping. I actually don't mind paying shipping because their prices are so good. I also like their customer service. When they made a mistake on my order (1 time during the pandemic), they let me keep the coffee and sent me a new one at no charge. The guy I spoke to was very nice and resolved it immediately. Their shipping is fast, so no worries if I am running low. If you are looking for an great roasted coffee, I highly recommend them. My personal favorite is the Columbia medium roast. It's a great place that's doing justice in the community providing high quality product for us coffee aficionados. I first encountered their name, Addison Coffee Roasters, in Central Market as I was searching for some good mild coffee beans. Curious to find "Addison" was our own, local Addison, TX, I googled, and was pleasantly surprised to hear they are! And they sometimes give tours! Long story short, we "booked" a tour for a group of my friends and I (from all kinds of coffee background: from a home-roaster to occasional coffee drinker). And we were very pleased by each and every individual we have encountered from the business. The lady who I spoke on the phone to plan the tour was very clear, kind, and helpful! Richard, the owner, gave us the tour; he was friendly, very knowledgeable on coffee yet was not snobby, not one bit. The guy that was sitting at the counter when our group walked in had a very warm smile! As for coffee, have various selection. This is not a coffee shop where you can get a drink, but a very small retail store where you can buy bags of fresh-roasted coffee. (Most of their business is wholesale). I tried their Premium Espresso for my home espresso machine, and it had great flavor and good crema. I will buy it again. It's not as good as the Vita from Espresso Vivace, but there's no shpping charge and it's local. ACR is amazing; if I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The coffee is delicious and they have a great variety of beans from which to choose, so you can experiment and try something new if you like, or just keep coming back for the same faithful favorites. I definitely like some blends better than others, but I've never been disappointed. I drink a fair amount of coffee, but I am very sensitive to caffeine. If you are an avid decaf drinker too, you'll appreciate that it is often very difficult to find a really good cup of decaf. (Decaf drinkers are often overlooked or treated as "less than" customers.) These guys love their decaf customers! Also worth noting is that I tried ADC the first time years ago when I was in town visiting friends and I bought some to take back home with me (to the Washington DC area). Even though we have a plethora of great coffee shops and coffee roasters in my local area, I still buy coffee from ADC and my family gives me their products for Christmas each year. Their customer service is FABULOUS. I bought coffee in advance of a trip and they accidentally shipped the wrong product. Less than excited about the mistake and worried that a replacement wouldn't arrive to me in time, I contacted ACR. They apologized, fast-tracked the correct product to me, offered to ship to my intended location, and sent me a coupon for a future purchases. I am a customer for life! read more
