French toast bread, Swiss cheese, ham, dipped in maple syrup....holy moly....more please! If you order the pancake plate, it's large enough for 2 people to share. The first time I was introduced to Addie's was before I moved to Eugene. At this time, I was presenting myself as a very strict and an unfun vegan. So, when the family suggested Addie's for breakfast I was annoyed at the possibility of me not having any options. I was wrong. Addie's offers an oatmeal, a BIG oatmeal, for the vegans that you can choose to accessorize with brown sugar or raisins. It was pretty good but what I really loved most was the hospitality from Addie and her story. A young woman who owns and runs one of the more popular breakfast joints in the Springfield area. I was mostly just impressed by her. Fast forward a few years and I am now a resident of Eugene and am no longer a strict vegan but rather a flex vegetarian. Which made this most recent trip to Addie's far more enjoyable. I ordered their egg sandwich and with Addie's suggestion of adding a slice of a tomato, which was a nice touch. It was very tasty. Like an elevated, homemade, and better egg muffin you can get at a popular fast food place with arches. I also enjoyed the side if skins. Very filling meal to start the morning. It's a very small diner, which adds to the warmth and homey atmosphere. So if you arrive later in the day just expect to wait. I can't wait to come back and try one of those pancakes. On our recent road trip from Los Angeles to Portland, we needed a bathroom/gas/lunch stop while nearing the Springfield area and happened across Addi's Diner. We didn't know anything about it, and it's difficult to tell much about a place from the outside... but we took our chances... And SO glad we did! The staff was SUPER nice and welcoming. The decor was really neat complete with parking meters, traffic lights, road signs and more in every corner you looked. There's always something new to see. The food was excellent. While I'm on a Keto diet and enjoyed my lunch, if you're not Keto, you can have some of the most amazing soul food one could imagine. Like the chicken fried steak looked unbelievable... Pure joy. Price for portion: Amazingly fair prices, them being a small diner I'd want them to charge more so they can do more with the restaurant. Had a great breakfast here- no wait on a weekday close to noon. The prices are very reasonable and the food was delicious. I had two eggs with hash browns, bacon and a biscuit. I was able to try some of their pancake which was huge and fantastic- next time I would sub the pancake instead of the biscuit and hash browns. We used to love coming here... A LOT! Online ordering has ruined this place. The kitchen is incredibly small and online orders take priority. Hence all the indoor customers suffer. We were number two on the list to be seated (called before we drove down). When we got there, we were moved to number three because a party of seven came in and I guess they took priority. As a business during Covid, I get it, make the cash when you can. As a customer, totally pissed me off, especially with how limited the seating is. Once we were there, it took 45 minutes to be seated just waiting in our car. We ordered immediately since we knew what we wanted. It took another 35 minutes to get our food. My chicken fried steak was over cooked, the Potatoes skins were cold, the English muffin forgotten. Once we were done eating it was another 10 min before we could pay as the staff was engrossed in figuring out how to brew coffee and answering to go orders. For the money, Addi's is a great diner and you will not leave hungry. An associate and I stayed at a nearby hotel that included a complimentary breakfast. Having grown weary of mediocre institutional food, I yelped for a great breakfast and learned about nearby Addie's! Our meal, coffee and friendly service was delivered at low cost, huge portions, all served on platters, not just dinner plates and a bottomless cup of coffee! I enjoyed the ham scramble that was generous portion of chunks of delicious tender ham and well prepared scrambled eggs. Hash browns and toast were included and looked fantastic on other plates that went by. I passed on the carbs as I am trying to stay on a keto diet. ($8.25 with coffee) I enjoyed looking around the small space at all of the vintage decor such as Betty Boop, parking meters, Wurlitzer juke box, old advertising signage and drive inn movie speakers. The skins are sensational...a plate of those would be awesome by themselves. The steak was excellent, crispy outside and tender steak topped with a perfect white gravy. Quick stop for breakfast heading north. GREAT place. Small and cozy, but it wasn't very busy on a Wednesday at 8am. 10 booths and 3 4-tops. Eclectic decor. Friendly, fast service. We had the Frenchie (two full slices of cinnamon roll French toast, one egg and 2 slices of bacon) and the Big Plate (one ENORMOUS pancake, also with egg and bacon). Both were super. We both had coffee. ALL of this for $14.25. We could have easily split the pancake and still had food left over. My only complaint is that they serve Pepsi instead of Coke products. Can't say enough good things about Addi's Diner! After our kids woke up at 3:45am (from our 3-hour time difference), we hopped in the car and drove to Addi's. We were met with the kindest welcome! Addi pointed out the toys in the corner, treated our kids (and us) like a million bucks, called our kids by name after hearing them, and was just lovely to talk to. And then the food. YUM! I came here based on the yelp reviews and they weren't wrong. I ordered the train wreck. The amount of food that came for the cost was a deal. It was a huge pile of heaven. Biscuit was also pretty delicious. While there I noticed another table ordered a pancake. It was bigger than a large pizza. I don't even know how that's possible. I would definitely recommend. Dear heavens, why does this place have four and a half stars? First of all, the place is FILTHY. The floors look they haven't been mopped in a week, and the tables were sticky and gross. And don't even think about going into their bathrooms unless it's a genuine emergency. And the food was pretty dang terrible, too. EVERYTHING (except for the corned beef, which is by nature cured) tasted saltless. The hash browns, the eggs, the pancakes (which obviously couldn't be fixed with table salt). Everything we had was bland as could be, and no amount of syrup or sauces could change that. I really could (and probably should) rate this spot 1 star, but their prices are low so I guess that's worth a generous extra star for them. read more

I love diners and their down-home unpretentiousness (and usual quirkiness), and I love diner food, with all their traditional, no-surprises fare. So I LOVE Addi's! Yes, there's a long line on weekend mornings (and there was one on the weekday morning we were there, too), but it surprisingly moved fairly quickly and my daughter and I were escorted inside and seated within 10 minutes or so. The restaurant interior is fairly small and totally NOT fancy (which I loved), with Coke paraphernalia on display and the usual linoleum and brushed aluminum tables and chairs. We were there for breakfast and I had my usual basic fare (eggs, bacon, hash browns), and my kid had a cinnamon roll pancake or waffle (I forget which. All I know is, she loved it - but ended up scraping off a lot of the sugary icing they liberally put on top of it). My meal was delicious and the hash browns were the best I've had in a long, long time (I usually leave them as they typically are too bland, or too greasy. But they were terrific here!). Service was pretty slow but the food was really good, the prices were right and the place was appropriately quirky. Oh, and it opens at 4am daily, for you early birds out there, and there's an attached parking lot, too. Two thumbs up! read more

The parking lot was full but we parked on the street for free. I ordered the chili and scramble and my husband got the big daddy. The chili and scramble was very good, however the chili could have had a little more flavor. The sausage that came big daddy was very flavorful. The English muffin with jam was outstanding.
