ADC floors just installed a Kahrs engineered wood floor in the hallway, living/dining area of my apartment. The installers were meticulous and the result looks fabulous. This was the second time I've used ADC, and do not hesitate to recommend them. The work was completed on time as well. read more

We used Daniel and his team from ADC for our open kitchen remodel, which included installing new wood floors in the kitchen area and toothing it in to match the rest of the 100-year-old wood floor in the living and dining rooms. Not an easy task, but the floors look GREAT, and it's hard to tell what's new from old. They presented options on your floor to make an educated decision on color and sheen, too!" read more

Daniel and ADC floors are amazing!! I live in Hinsdale and had some discoloration with my European oak hardwood floors. Daniel replaced about 6 boards and was able to mix in the boards and match them where you can't even tell which boards were replaced. His crew is also extremely clean!! I have used Daniel in the past and his company is always responsive and has always done a fantastic job!! John read more

We have used ADC floors twice and are extremely happy with our floors. The first project was replacing carpet upstairs with hardwood which turned out magnificent. The second project (completed today) was refinishing and lightening our oak floors on the main level. I cannot say enough about how incredible our floors look. It is like walking into a new home. The crew is amazing, professional, talented, and they are pros at keeping the dust contained to the area they are working. They cover everything in plastic and tape off pictures/wall art. If you are looking to have your floors refinished or considering putting in hardwood I highly recommend ADC. They are incredible!!! read more

ADC replaced the flooring in two of our condo units (the first 8 years ago and the other in July). They're easily the most organized, high-quality and fairly-priced flooring installers hired by anyone in our circle of friends and work colleagues. The details.... High Quality Installation: On both occasions, the work was flawless. Upon inspection both building managers and their engineers complemented the work and offered to place ADC on their approved vendor list. Efficient and Proactive: Automated project mgmt system, so you'll get text reminders/updates, online invoicing, etc. and they always arrive when promised. ADC also thinks through any problems AHEAD of time and offers solutions to save you time, money and headaches. This includes their own installation, as well as how it might impact the entire renovation process (transitions to tile, kitchen cabinet installation, etc.) Great Flooring Selections (Showroom): When I mentioned that I was struggling to find an affordable flooring option which could withstand the sun and temperature changes of a high-rise condo, they shared a great option from their own showroom (Tekka line of products). Johnny even found several boards (of extra product from their warehouse) and placed them on the floor so I could see the variation before purchasing (vs. a standard 24" x 24" sample). Cooperation / Teamwork: On both occasions they had to work with tough high-rise building rules, demo material that wasn't removed and a surprise visit from the tile installer. They managed it all beautifully (and without complaint!) Pricing / Transparency: We received their estimate WITHIN 2 HOURS of the appointment and it included over 20 line items, so we knew exactly what was included and how much each item would cost (e.g. moving furniture, flooring materials, etc.). It made the installation seamless and headache-free, bc everything was already in writing. We also appreciated no hidden or last minute fees (and pricing comparable to others). Cleanliness: They protected all of our belongings from dust, cleaned up the jobsite every day and left the unit in great condition. Not a scratch anywhere. read more

Daniel and his team were great to work with. My fiance and I had been looking to replace the carpet in our master bedroom with hardwood floors that match the rest of the condo (great room/kitchen/foyer). It took us a really long time to find the manufacturer (Kährs) of the existing floor in our condo (on our own) and they had SO many samples that we were having a hard time pinning down the right one. But when I sent Daniel a picture of it, he made a model/recommendation that matched exactly. He also stated that they were a preferred installer by Kährs as well. Daniel did arrive a little late to our free consult (but there was some sort of accident on Lake Shore Drive that night - corroborated by another friend of mine who was stuck in said mess) so it wasn't so much of a big deal. I had to leave but he met with my fiance and gave a verbal estimate and in the morning time we had something in writing. Also, we had received an estimate from another installer earlier in the week, and ADC Floors came in much lower. We were able to quickly schedule the installation and was initially quoted 2 days worth of work (it only ended up being 1 full day and like 30 minutes to come back the next day to install a small piece of trim). We also opted to move the furniture ourselves to save some money. On the day of installation, the installer showed up on time. As mentioned they were able to put down the floor in one day and we were happy with the result. It matches our existing floor completely and you really couldn't tell it wasn't "original" installation with a naked eye. The crew kept everything as clean as possible (we were told they wrapped the cabinets and the clothes in the closet as well). I thought I'd never be -this- excited about floors but we are just so happy with the ease and how everything turned out. Thanks again Daniel, Johnny and Denisa! read more

We used ADC Floors to put an extra coat of poly/finish on our floors. They used Bona Traffic HD, which, based on my research, is one of the best. They were punctual on the initial visit to provide a quote, and the quote came immediately after finishing. They communicated well throughout the entire process. Once they finished, I noticed there was a drop of something on the carpet runner on the stairs, and ADC was quick to have someone out to try and clean it. On further inspection, ADC thinks it was some other material not from them, but they nonetheless took the time and effort to try and clean. Overall, I found ADC to be an honest and professional vendor and would use them in the future. read more

Disgusting. Don't ever ever use this company. They completed a 'power wash' on my floors which I agreed to. When it was done the technicians told me that it 'looked so bad' and it was 'dangerous'. The edges of the boards had raised creating a knife edge which could cut your feet. Also, the result was flaky and uneven - it looked so much worse than my original floors but they had limited English and told me that they needed to call the boss. I left it 2 days and then received a bill to which I wrote a full and informative note back explaining what had happened. They are now threatening a lien against my home if they don't get their bill paid!!! Unbelievable. They never came to check on the floors, they never wanted to rectify, they just wanted money. This is the evidence of their threats. Please don't use them. EVER. read more

This company is so professional. I have worked with contractors in the past, this flooring company is exceptional. ADC installed my flooring throughout my whole downstairs, 2 bdrm, family room, bathroom, we did LVT planks, it turned out gorgeous. They were on time, neat, skilled and efficient. The workers kept me informed as the job progressed. I would highly recommend them for any type of flooring needs, you can trust that they will do the job you want and expect. Daniel and his team arrived to do the flooring job at my condo in September, and the results passed with flying colors. There were no hidden charges after the initial estimate invoice, and the job was done within the estimated time. But that's not the best part about this company. I contacted Daniel about this project almost a year ago. At the time, I was negotiating with my insurance company for the cost of the repairs(due to a water leak upstairs). As I negotiated with them for almost a year, Daniel was patient and helped/advised me through the process so that I could get what was due to me. This is going above and beyond his job description, and it showed that he very much cares about his clients being treated fairly. They are my goto flooring company from now on! Shawn read more

ADC refinished our floors when we moved in to our condo 5 years ago - we had no issues at that time. After normal wear and tear, we needed six boards repaired this summer. Daniel came out and looked at the job and got back to us in a few days with a quote. After thinking it over, accepting the quote and making a 50% deposit, it took several days for ADC to get back to me to schedule a date. Less than 24 hours before that scheduled date, I received a call asking to push the time back 90 minutes. On the day scheduled for work the crew was over 30 minutes late with no phone call. When I spoke with Daniel on the phone, he was somewhat apologetic, but also stated that they are a service industry and indicated that at least they are better than Comcast. Daniel debated with me for 10 minutes about why I should be grateful that his team were there at all and that I should not be upset that they changed the appointment time and then showed up late with no phone call. Jose and his crew did not seem familiar with what the job was when they showed up. The work was done fairly well. I would have appreciated if they were more careful applying the stain to the new boards - too much stain ended up on the surrounding boards. Because of the described issues, I will use a different flooring company in the future. UPDATE: Daniel apparently sent an email asking to schedule on the same day the bid was accepted (this was send to a different email, and I never saw it. When I called the main office, it took them several days to call me back to confirm the scheduling. Daniel provided screen shots from his phone in an email to prove that I was wrong. The email included the phrases "Integrity ???", "How can you post a review and lie ?", "Do you understand that can be defamation???" I would ask that Daniel please refrain from contacting me or my family. read more

Panic update from 5/13/2012. It's me again. I originally had ADC install a hardwood floor for me two years ago. I was in a jam, and Daniel helped me out and did a great job! Well, it has been two years, and my tenants moved out. The floor has held up great, and I am very happy with it. Upon cleaning and getting the condo ready to rent to the next tenant, I found that a "transition molding" between the hardwood floor, and the hallway's ceramic tile had pulled loose. Not sure what caused the problem, but the previous tenants also caused issues that required the dishwasher, clothes washer, and garbage disposals to need replacement.....so I am not sure what caused the molding to pull loose. I called Daniel, and he sent out his guys to fix it. Again, he shifted schedules around to fit my tight time frame. He was highly responsive and his guys did a great job. The most amazing thing to me was that he did not charge for this work. Two years after installing the flooring, he fixed an issue for me free of charge!!! Most flooring companies I checked out talked about fixing things that were evident after the install, or for the first 30/60 days, but no one talked about two (2) years later! This is fantastic customer service! ADC did right by me with an excellent install two years ago, and ADC did right by me with excellent follow-up support two years later! Thank you ADC! read more

Don't use this company. They left our floors damaged and dangerous then threatened legal action without asking to check the work, the result or working out a solution. I've also read the complete text message chain (see previous review) and can confirm that he was threatening in his language after we asked for the sales person to stop texting. Our attorneys will resolve so that this doesn't happen to other Yelp-ers. read more

First off I don't have a good idea if the price was competitive but a couple of friends with properties said it sounded reasonable. I moved out of town and got this estimate over 6 months in advance knowing I would return when I was ready to start getting my condo ready for sale. Everything was perfect. Zero complaints. The estimate process was easy, Daniel the owner explained everything and all the options and I got everything in writing. They showed up right on time, including accommodating my request to start a day earlier than we originally agreed upon. They took the request and notified me when they learned they could start a day early. Three workers were on time, took great care with my property, were friendly and efficient and answered all my questions. The results were great! It is a 700 Sq. foot condo with hard wood floors, the result was flawless. The cost was $1500 for dustless sanding and 3 coats of finish. Again, not sure if that is high, low or average, but since I was coordinating everything from the other side of the country, I was happy to pay for reliable service and the outcome I got! Can't recommend this company highly enough! read more

Highly recommended. I called on 4 flooring contractors that were highly regarded on Yelp to give us quotes on refinishing 2 stories of hardwood floors. We chose Daniel and ADC because he explained everything patiently and thoroughly. He was also almost $1000 cheaper than the others three. He explained that some of the stringers and risers didn't really need to be refinished but just buffed which saved me money. Job also was finished ahead of schedule. Most importantly, the final product looks great. read more

We had just bought our condo and were waiting on closing. Because we were trying to move out of the previous apt and into the new condo in a small time frame, we wanted to get the floors refinished first. I emailed a bunch of companies with questions, because we had a specific finish in mind. We received a few quotes and Daniel was the first to reply and he answered all questions in his initial email. Super impressive. Of course we set up an appointment for him to come out and give us his opinion and a more accurate estimate of price. We were dealing with closing delays and he was great to work with for reschedules. We finally confirmed a date for him to assess the flooring. It was truly a pleasant experience. He was such an enthusiastic person and you just a really good vibe from him. He let us know that we had Red Oak (natural color/shiny) but that it transitioned into an Engineered White Oak floor (natural color/shiny). However, we were still able to sand and stain it. We wanted a rustic look. We wanted a matte grey weathered look. He said it was achievable and so we set a week for it to get done. Oh yes, the price was really reasonable and made sense! On the scheduled first date, Daniel's employees were on time and also great to work with. They showed us 2 options initially for use to choose. Once chosen, they went ahead with the rest of the flooring. They finished in 3 days! ...I also don't want to forget to mention we had a bedroom that we wanted to leave as concrete. They sanded it and stained that as well (all within the 3 days to complete everything). I really would recommend ADC Floors if you're looking to refinish your floors (like we did). AMAZING work. 5 Stars! Photos of our grey weathered matte refinished flooring: http://imgur.com/KIJqJyi,JqiXVxO#0 http://imgur.com/KIJqJyi,JqiXVxO#1 read more

Let me/us start off by saying that we would recommend ADC Floors to any friends and family without hesitation. Daniel was a consummate professional from the beginning. He talked us through the entire process educating us along the way. His bid was very competitive. Our job was a partial one - we were keeping the tiles in the kitchen floor and replacing carpeting in the living, bedroom and den. The floor was uneven and Daniel explained thoroughly why it should be leveled and he was very clear with his use of a long 2x4 showing peaks/valleys in the floor. The leveling led to a difference in heights between the kitchen and living rooms. At first, we were not happy with the threshold and told Daniel so. He came back and we couldn't be happier with the new threshold he put in place. It was gradual and very clean and on par with the rest of the excellent job Daniel's staff had done. The only thing we would have done differently would have been to get a better estimate/worst case scenario for the leveling job. Regardless, the final price still came well under the competition and we couldn't be more pleased with the new hardwood floors. Alyssa S / Erle F read more

OK, the things that you need to know summed up into cohesive sentences: 1.) Daniel gave me a great quote and explained the process. 2.) Angel and his team were not only on time, but came early most days. 3.) On the day off when we were moving furniture between rooms, he called and asked if we needed help moving. On his DAY OFF! We went with a darker finish. It's walnut and we could not be happier. I am very happy with it and the attention to detail. read more

I can't say enough good things about the ADC floors, from start to finish! Daniel was super nice and professional. Throughout the entire process, Daniel was the most responsive contractor I've ever met. He replied emails the same day, and replied texts usually within the hour. This is impressive for any contractor! Daniel came right on time for an estimate, and he explained everything clearly. He is evidently extremely experienced with my high rise building, and outline the detailed works needed. He made some spot-on recommendations for what products to use, which work out perfectly in the end. His proposal came quickly, and it was super detailed. Each cost is itemized ( instead of a lump-sum cost from certain contractors ). I was able to take-off or add service at my will, and the cost structure is very transparent. Daniel shifted their schedules around to fit my project, since my floor took an unexpected long time to get delivered from Canada. On the job day, Daniel's crew was very friendly and professional. They did a great job, and finished everything on time. read more

I recently had a wood floor installation project with ADC Floors and they did a fantastic job. It took me a while to find the right wood to match my current floor. Daniel had to come twice for estimations. But he was always patient and helpful. The estimation was accurate and was exactly what it cost in the end. Danny and the team was very professional, who did not only finish the job, but also mastered it. They were puncuate, and spent only two days to replace the carpet with wood floors in my condo. The details were very nicely managed. Each piece is laid down nicely, the edges are clean. My favourate detail is where the new planks meets the old ones. They eliminated the trim between two rooms so the floor surface becomes continous. It turns out very nice and smooth and is exactly what I wanted. Also they put a metal trim instead of a wood trim between the bedroom and the bathroom, which is also very thoughtful. The room was left very clean after the job. The whole process was completely hassle free. I would like to work with them again. read more

Daniel and his team were beyond amazing to work with! We purchased a condo in Lincoln Park and he met us for a walk through before we closed. He walked us in detail through the entire project and was extremely knowledgeable. He even took the time to sit down with us and go over the contract line by line which is more than I can say for any other contractor we worked with. I wish we could have hired them for every single project in our home! ADC Floors installed new hardwood flooring in 3 bedrooms and sanded and re-stained the living room the match. Everyone who comes over can't believe the floors were not laid down at the same time. It is seamless! The crew was always on time, professional and so easy to work with. We would highly recommend them (and we have) and would without a doubt use ADC Floors again. read more

I needed to get my floors repaired/refinished because of a leak I had. I had this done at my old place and I remember what and ordeal and what a mess it is. I had called two people for estimates and liked them both and they were both around the same price. I decided to go with ADC. So glad I mad that choice. They are extremely professional and have great follow up. Like I said I knew from before that this was an ordeal. I had to hire movers to move all the furniture to another floor and then let the ADC guys in the next morning. I then moved out for the rest of the week while they worked on the floors. When I came back to my house later that week I was VERY surprised. Not only did the floors look great but there was no mess. Last time I had this done even though the used the "dustless" sanders there was still dust everywhere. With ADC the place was spotless. Beyond the smell and the great looking floors you would of never known there were there. Highly recommend ADC if you need to get your floors done. read more

Daniel, ADC's owner, was introduced to me by my builder as a "floor scientist," I didn't think much of it until I worked with him more on my new construction project. I would now describe it as the perfect characterization. He approaches his work with an incredibly high level of thoughtfulness and curiosity. I am a rental landlord in the Northside of Chicago and have well over a decade of interactions with different people in trades and rarely have the pleasure of encountering someone who doesn't just take pride in their work and seeks to improve their craft. Whatever new material and technologies are coming out or are on the horizon, expect Daniel to not only know about them but have already experimented with them in the field. On a walkthrough of one of my units, his innate curiosity permeated through when he asked me about my own experience with a specific flooring material I put directly on another that he observed. The area had nothing to do with the job he was viewing. His inquiry was truly to understand better the viability of the application in the field for the end-user regarding sound transmission. It may seem quite ordinary at face value, but in well over a decade, I have never had someone who worked in the construction/renovation world ask me such a curiosity-driven question. I would describe ADC's pricing as very competitive, and based on Daniel's vast knowledge of different materials, he could probably help you value engineer a solution that will meet your needs where others would not have the knowledge, capacity, or interest in doing so. When I first started in real estate, I typically made price point the sole basis for which contractor I used, always assuming that if all the bids I was getting were from tradespeople who have done their trade for 30+yrs and I provide the material, the quality would probably be the same. I am now paying the consequences for those actions, particularly in flooring, not so much in shoddy work but more in missed opportunities to do something different. In short, when Daniel speaks about flooring, you walk away feeling like the person supervising your project probably understands the flooring material they are installing better than the engineers themselves who designed it. Beyond this, too often, my experience with contractors when approached about a construction project is the starting point is always a very negative tone. Typically they start by pointing out all the negatives and challenges and how hard it will be, likely to justify a high price. Daniel instead immediately looked at every turn where there was a potential problem and stated what the solution could be. read more

As for the flooring job itself, Marcos and Ivan did an exceptional job of weaving in the wood flooring with the existing flooring that my project called for. We had Daniel and his ADC team in during the middle of January to buff our floors. Without his solicitation, I promised Daniel I would write a review for him because I was SO happy with his work in our home. From the very beginning, Daniel was very good at explaining to us the entire process, giving us a number of options (without needlessly pointing us at the more expensive of the options). He had preliminarily answered all of my wife's questions, and then patiently spent the time answering mine, many of which were simply repeats. Daniel and his team also did a great job adapting to our schedule. My wife gave him about 36 hours notice for him to come and do the quote. When it came time to do the job, he and his team were ready to meet me at 7 am on a Friday. In terms of the work, we couldn't be happier. Based on the prior use, Daniel said we didn't even really need to have the floors buffed. But man could you tell a difference when he was done. His quote was definitely towards to lower range of what we had been given for estimates. But the floors look spectacular. I'd highly recommend Daniel and his team for your home flooring needs. Daniel and his team were great! Daniel took the time to explain the process to me and helped me to make decisions about what products to use. His team was on time, respectful, professional, efficient and CLEAN. I expected everything to be covered in dust. But, they did a great job sealing off areas and there was no mess at all. I had my floors refinished and I also had them repair a few boards that had been broken. The floors look amazing! The price was great, and the staff couldn't have been better. If you have flooring repairs or just routine refinishing, I highly recommend ADC. Additionally, after the crew left on the first day, an alarm started going off in my place. (NOTE: take down your alarms) I was not around to take them down and Daniel's crew had the spare set of keys my neighbor normally keeps. I called Daniel and explained the situation to him. ADC did an excellent job for me and more importantly provided me with multiple options that fit with my schedule and budget. Daniel has created a very efficient process and is totally transparent about the estimating, purchasing and installation process. Daniel spent time looking at the work that was required and then was flexible enough to provide me 4 different proposals that provided me with the options and timing to fit my needs. Dan the project manager was extremely professional and very careful with my furniture. At different times they provided me an opportunity to check their work which was impeccable. In addition, they were on-time, within budget and actually helped with more than they were contracted for, because they want their work to be as perfect as possible and believe in superior customer service. I can't believe that I had the experience I've had with Daniel after all the amazing reviews. His demeanor is exactly as described and the similarities end there!! I called for an estimate a few weeks ago and we agreed to an early morning appointment the next day. 5 minutes prior to our scheduled time, I got a text message that we'd have to reschedule the time for later. After a quick chat, we agreed to a loose time in the afternoon on the condition that Daniel would call ahead to let me know he was on his way from his other appointment. I had other contractors working in my home at the time, so having a little warning was important to me, but it was the contractors that let me know someone was at the door. We proceeded to look at the floors I was hoping to have his team work on. In the 15 minutes he was in my home, Daniel answered his phone no less than 3 times, interupting the consultation so severely that he left without really answering my important questions. We all have crazy days where things just don't go the way you hope, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He measured the rooms and promised to email his proposal within the next days. I waited almost a week and hadn't heard a peep, so I called to check in. He apologetically explained that he was distracted by something else and assured me that I would definitely receive the proposal by the next morning at the latest.
