ADC also thinks through any problems AHEAD of time and offers solutions to save you time, money and headaches. This includes their own installation, as well as how it might impact the entire renovation process (transitions to tile, kitchen cabinet installation, etc.) Great Flooring Selections (Showroom): When I mentioned that I was struggling to find an affordable flooring option which could withstand the sun and temperature changes of a high-rise condo, they shared a great option from their own showroom (Tekka line of products). Johnny even found several boards (of extra product from their warehouse) and placed them on the floor so I could see the variation before purchasing (vs. a standard 24" x 24" sample). Cooperation / Teamwork: On both occasions they had to work with tough high-rise building rules, demo material that wasn't removed and a surprise visit from the tile installer. My fiance and I had been looking to replace the carpet in our master bedroom with hardwood floors that match the rest of the condo (great room/kitchen/foyer). It took us a really long time to find the manufacturer (Kährs) of the existing floor in our condo (on our own) and they had SO many samples that we were having a hard time pinning down the right one. But when I sent Daniel a picture of it, he made a model/recommendation that matched exactly. He also stated that they were a preferred installer by Kährs as well. Daniel did arrive a little late to our free consult (but there was some sort of accident on Lake Shore Drive that night - corroborated by another friend of mine who was stuck in said mess) so it wasn't so much of a big deal. I had to leave but he met with my fiance and gave a verbal estimate and in the morning time we had something in writing. Also, we had received an estimate from another installer earlier in the week, and ADC Floors came in much lower. We were able to quickly schedule the installation and was initially quoted 2 days worth of work (it only ended up being 1 full day and like 30 minutes to come back the next day to install a small piece of trim). We also opted to move the furniture ourselves to save some money. On the day of installation, the installer showed up on time. As mentioned they were able to put down the floor in one day and we were happy with the result. It matches our existing floor completely and you really couldn't tell it wasn't "original" installation with a naked eye. The crew kept everything as clean as possible (we were told they wrapped the cabinets and the clothes in the closet as well). We used ADC Floors to put an extra coat of poly/finish on our floors. They used Bona Traffic HD, which, based on my research, is one of the best. They were punctual on the initial visit to provide a quote, and the quote came immediately after finishing. They communicated well throughout the entire process. Once they finished, I noticed there was a drop of something on the carpet runner on the stairs, and ADC was quick to have someone out to try and clean it. On further inspection, ADC thinks it was some other material not from them, but they nonetheless took the time and effort to try and clean. Overall, I found ADC to be an honest and professional vendor and would use them in the future. read more

Disgusting. Don't ever ever use this company. They completed a 'power wash' on my floors which I agreed to. When it was done the technicians told me that it 'looked so bad' and it was 'dangerous'. The edges of the boards had raised creating a knife edge which could cut your feet. Also, the result was flaky and uneven - it looked so much worse than my original floors but they had limited English and told me that they needed to call the boss. I left it 2 days and then received a bill to which I wrote a full and informative note back explaining what had happened. They are now threatening a lien against my home if they don't get their bill paid!!! Unbelievable. They never came to check on the floors, they never wanted to rectify, they just wanted money. ADC refinished our floors when we moved in to our condo 5 years ago - we had no issues at that time. After normal wear and tear, we needed six boards repaired this summer. Daniel came out and looked at the job and got back to us in a few days with a quote. After thinking it over, accepting the quote and making a 50% deposit, it took several days for ADC to get back to me to schedule a date. Less than 24 hours before that scheduled date, I received a call asking to push the time back 90 minutes. On the day scheduled for work the crew was over 30 minutes late with no phone call. When I spoke with Daniel on the phone, he was somewhat apologetic, but also stated that they are a service industry and indicated that at least they are better than Comcast. Daniel debated with me for 10 minutes about why I should be grateful that his team were there at all and that I should not be upset that they changed the appointment time and then showed up late with no phone call. Jose and his crew did not seem familiar with what the job was when they showed up. The work was done fairly well. I would have appreciated if they were more careful applying the stain to the new boards - too much stain ended up on the surrounding boards. Because of the described issues, I will use a different flooring company in the future. UPDATE: Daniel apparently sent an email asking to schedule on the same day the bid was accepted (this was send to a different email, and I never saw it. When I called the main office, it took them several days to call me back to confirm the scheduling. Daniel provided screen shots from his phone in an email to prove that I was wrong. The email included the phrases "Integrity ???", "How can you post a review and lie ?", "Do you understand that can be defamation???" Panic update from 5/13/2012. It's me again. I originally had ADC install a hardwood floor for me two years ago. I was in a jam, and Daniel helped me out and did a great job! Well, it has been two years, and my tenants moved out. The floor has held up great, and I am very happy with it. Upon cleaning and getting the condo ready to rent to the next tenant, I found that a "transition molding" between the hardwood floor, and the hallway's ceramic tile had pulled loose. Not sure what caused the problem, but the previous tenants also caused issues that required the dishwasher, clothes washer, and garbage disposals to need replacement.....so I am not sure what caused the molding to pull loose. I called Daniel, and he sent out his guys to fix it. Again, he shifted schedules around to fit my tight time frame. He was highly responsive and his guys did a great job. The most amazing thing to me was that he did not charge for this work. Two years after installing the flooring, he fixed an issue for me free of charge!!! Most flooring companies I checked out talked about fixing things that were evident after the install, or for the first 30/60 days, but no one talked about two (2) years later! First off I don't have a good idea if the price was competitive but a couple of friends with properties said it sounded reasonable. I moved out of town and got this estimate over 6 months in advance knowing I would return when I was ready to start getting my condo ready for sale. Everything was perfect. Zero complaints. The estimate process was easy, Daniel the owner explained everything and all the options and I got everything in writing. They showed up right on time, including accommodating my request to start a day earlier than we originally agreed upon. They took the request and notified me when they learned they could start a day early. Three workers were on time, took great care with my property, were friendly and efficient and answered all my questions. The results were great! It is a 700 Sq. foot condo with hard wood floors, the result was flawless. The cost was $1500 for dustless sanding and 3 coats of finish. Again, not sure if that is high, low or average, but since I was coordinating everything from the other side of the country, I was happy to pay for reliable service and the outcome I got! Highly recommended. I called on 4 flooring contractors that were highly regarded on Yelp to give us quotes on refinishing 2 stories of hardwood floors. We had just bought our condo and were waiting on closing. Because we were trying to move out of the previous apt and into the new condo in a small time frame, we wanted to get the floors refinished first. I emailed a bunch of companies with questions, because we had a specific finish in mind. We received a few quotes and Daniel was the first to reply and he answered all questions in his initial email. Super impressive. Of course we set up an appointment for him to come out and give us his opinion and a more accurate estimate of price. We were dealing with closing delays and he was great to work with for reschedules. We finally confirmed a date for him to assess the flooring. It was truly a pleasant experience. He was such an enthusiastic person and you just a really good vibe from him. He let us know that we had Red Oak (natural color/shiny) but that it transitioned into an Engineered White Oak floor (natural color/shiny). However, we were still able to sand and stain it. We wanted a rustic look. We wanted a matte grey weathered look. He said it was achievable and so we set a week for it to get done. Oh yes, the price was really reasonable and made sense! On the scheduled first date, Daniel's employees were on time and also great to work with. They showed us 2 options initially for use to choose. Once chosen, they went ahead with the rest of the flooring. They finished in 3 days! ...I also don't want to forget to mention we had a bedroom that we wanted to leave as concrete. They sanded it and stained that as well (all within the 3 days to complete everything). I really would recommend ADC Floors if you're looking to refinish your floors (like we did). Let me/us start off by saying that we would recommend ADC Floors to any friends and family without hesitation. Daniel was a consummate professional from the beginning. He talked us through the entire process educating us along the way. His bid was very competitive. Our job was a partial one - we were keeping the tiles in the kitchen floor and replacing carpeting in the living, bedroom and den. The floor was uneven and Daniel explained thoroughly why it should be leveled and he was very clear with his use of a long 2x4 showing peaks/valleys in the floor. The leveling led to a difference in heights between the kitchen and living rooms. At first, we were not happy with the threshold and told Daniel so. He came back and we couldn't be happier with the new threshold he put in place. It was gradual and very clean and on par with the rest of the excellent job Daniel's staff had done. The only thing we would have done differently would have been to get a better estimate/worst case scenario for the leveling job. I recently had a wood floor installation project with ADC Floors and they did a fantastic job. It took me a while to find the right wood to match my current floor. Daniel had to come twice for estimations. But he was always patient and helpful. The estimation was accurate and was exactly what it cost in the end. Danny and the team was very professional, who did not only finish the job, but also mastered it. They were puncuate, and spent only two days to replace the carpet with wood floors in my condo. The details were very nicely managed. Each piece is laid down nicely, the edges are clean. My favourate detail is where the new planks meets the old ones. They eliminated the trim between two rooms so the floor surface becomes continous. It turns out very nice and smooth and is exactly what I wanted. Also they put a metal trim instead of a wood trim between the bedroom and the bathroom, which is also very thoughtful. The room was left very clean after the job. I needed to get my floors repaired/refinished because of a leak I had. I had this done at my old place and I remember what and ordeal and what a mess it is. I had called two people for estimates and liked them both and they were both around the same price. I decided to go with ADC. So glad I mad that choice. I had to hire movers to move all the furniture to another floor and then let the ADC guys in the next morning. I then moved out for the rest of the week while they worked on the floors. Without his solicitation, I promised Daniel I would write a review for him because I was SO happy with his work in our home. From the very beginning, Daniel was very good at explaining to us the entire process, giving us a number of options (without needlessly pointing us at the more expensive of the options). He had preliminarily answered all of my wife's questions, and then patiently spent the time answering mine, many of which were simply repeats. On the spur of the moment, I decided to refinish my 21 year old hardwood floors. I have been wanting to do this for quite some time, but what I expected the process would be was too daunting for me. I shopped around at 3 other floor places and did NOT receive nearly the same service I did as I did at ADC Floors. I stumbled upon their store front in my new neighborhood and I am so happy I stopped in!!! I am a first time home owner and was the process of installing hardwood throughout my entire home. Let's just say, I had a ton of questions. The owner Daniel is extremely professional, very prompt and accommodating. I had so many questions with this being my first rodeo and he couldn't of been more thorough and helpful. I can also say the same for his installers and staff. The installers arrived on time every day and cleaned up very well after every day of work. I felt comfortable leaving the installers at my house while I went to work. They were very kind, respectful and helpful as well. The project was completed in the amount of time I was quoted and the final bill was exactly what I was quoted early on. I can't believe that I had the experience I've had with Daniel after all the amazing reviews. His demeanor is exactly as described and the similarities end there!! I called for an estimate a few weeks ago and we agreed to an early morning appointment the next day. 5 minutes prior to our scheduled time, I got a text message that we'd have to reschedule the time for later. After a quick chat, we agreed to a loose time in the afternoon on the condition that Daniel would call ahead to let me know he was on his way from his other appointment. I had other contractors working in my home at the time, so having a little warning was important to me, but it was the contractors that let me know someone was at the door. We proceeded to look at the floors I was hoping to have his team work on. In the 15 minutes he was in my home, Daniel answered his phone no less than 3 times, interupting the consultation so severely that he left without really answering my important questions. We all have crazy days where things just don't go the way you hope, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He measured the rooms and promised to email his proposal within the next days. I waited almost a week and hadn't heard a peep, so I called to check in. He apologetically explained that he was distracted by something else and assured me that I would definitely receive the proposal by the next morning at the latest. It's now over 2 weeks and never a single email or return call (...ya, I scoured my spam mail folder to be absolutely sure I didn't miss anything) Real nice guy, but couldn't follow through---Had to go with a different offer because I never got one from Daniel read more
