I don't write reviews often but, I felt this one had to be written. I went to grab dinner to go home after a 12 hour shift. I first tried to order the leg quarter plate that is on the menu and I was told they no longer make leg quarters. I settled for another plate with 2 sides. I tried to order Mac-n-cheese, they didn't have that either. I settled for cole slaw. I paid $30 for food that was mediocre for that price. The brisket was bland. The potato salad honestly looked and tasted like something my 12 year grandchild attempted to make. It was bland as well. I had ordered a peach cobbler on the side. When I got home and opened it, it was apple cobbler that I absolutely did not want. I want be going back and definitely do not recommend. read more

Best bbq we've had in Kilgore or Longview! Their bread is amazing, too! Great casual atmosphere and the staff is top notch.

They have wonderful brisket tacos. I go at least once a week for one. The sides are really good. My coworkers all have a different favorite from pinto beans, macaroni and cheese, tomato cucumber salad , to potato salad. I really liked their ribs. Super tender and great smoke. I also tried the brisket both a moist and lean cut. I found it to be tender and enjoyable even the brisket itself was stringy. Next on the plate was the turkey and it deserves a blue ribbon. Perfect smoke, perfect seating and still that perfect taste of turkey. I was enthused about the beans and potato salad. If I had to choose which I liked most, it would be the potatoes. Peach cobbler fills the tank as well. I enjoyed that the owner was really interested in learning more about my likes and bbq experience. He certainly is a true craftsman and met many of the low and slow greats in Texas and took away something from each one. Great customer service and a good meal to be had. read more

Friendly staff. The ribs were very tender and had great flavor. The sliced brisket was good - really good flavor, but not as quite tender as I'd like. In their defense, it was a very lean cut, and I like some marble in my brisket. Potato salad was delicious. A little pricy, but they have a sign up explaining the increase in food price and their decision to go up a little on price and still provide quality meat. After eating it I think they are doing exactly what they said. I will definitely be back. read more

Delish food. And I'm from Las Vegas I am picky . BBQ sauce , pulled pork , chicken, chopped beef mashed potatoes baked beans and Mac and cheese were to die for . Finally something good in this town besides all of the great Mexican joints . Everything was delicious!!! The guys were so nice and helpful. I ordered for at least 15 people... chopped beef, sliced beef, Italian sasauge, hot links, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and pinto beans. It was really great to buy a complete meal withlarge portions, and everything was hot and fresh! My only suggestion is they could offer rolls as an option. read more

White Oak Location: The macaroni was amazing! Probably the best I have had. It was a little pricey but otherwise good. Love the toast that comes with the meal. I have tried the sloppy joe there too and it is very yummy. read more

The reviews for this place enticed me and so I decided to take the bait. It was worth it. For around $15 I got 4 ribs, 2 sides, and a pretty big root beer. The beans were so hot I had to let them cool off a little but they were so good. The ribs were also amazing. Their Mac and cheese is also pretty good. I will definitely come back here. read more

First time here...and was really hoping to be delighted with some BBQ...TEXAS Style! No frills BBQ joint. I ordered a BBQ Brisket and Links plate with a what I thought would be a warm fried peach pie. Well, I guess I was expecting the peach pie to have warm filling with a crispy crust, instead it was refrigerated and soft...Ugh! Not what I was expecting and totally disappointed. As far as the BBQ Brisket and Links? The links were relatively plain, no spice, no kick at all and felt like they just came out of the supermarket meat section, sliced up and put on my plate! The BBQ Brisket on the other hand was excellent...smokey and very flavorful. Instead of a tomato based BBQ sauce, Adam's Rib serves up a thinner vinegar based sauce which was very very good! My brother had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich which was very good. Full of smoke flavor, nicely chopped up, drizzled in their sauce and placed on a one of the best buns every tasted. Maybe I just had a miss day on what I ordered, but overall, Adams Rib serves up decent BBQ. Not that it is bad, but I've had a better here in the great state of Texas! read more

Hard for me to really judge this place for a few reasons: --have only had BBQ from one other place in town --am not used to beef BBQ, I am from pork BBQ country --just had take out, so can't judge restaurant itself That said, was fed this for lunch the other day, and I thought the brisket kicked ass. So tender stabbing it with a crappy plastic fork caused it to fall apart. The hot links, potato salad, and beans were ok, nothing I'd go out of my way for. The peach cobbler was very different from what I am used to, but I thought it was great too. read more

$13.99 for a combo rib and brisket plate with 2 sides and a piece of toast. The food was very tasty. I had hoped for 3 ribs, got 2, and 3 small pieces of brisket. I know they have to manage their portions, they do a good business but an extra rib and piece of brisket wouldn't hurt my feelings. All in all, it was a very good meal. I will be back, and if you haven't tried their food you need to. It is (my opinion) some of the best BBQ in this part of Texas. read more

On vacation from Wisconsin. Wanted to stop at an Original Fried Pie Shop and this one was en route. Visited on Sunday, February 28th, 2016. Had a very mixed experience. Fried Pies here were a disappointment. It seems they just have the fried pies to lure people in to their restaurant, as they obviously really don't care about them. They selection was very limited and poorly labeled. They were pre-made and cold. Not to mention that the counter girl forgot to put it on the tray with the rest of our food. I found counter girl to be not friendly. We're obviously not from the area and were having a hard time ordering, she just seemed annoyed. When I asked for a pecan fried pie she simply shook her head and said "no." Most places we visited in Texas seemed to love helping us, not this lady. Mac and cheese was incredibly bland. Fried pie delicious but cold. I would have loved to try a savory style, or pecan, coconut, or chocolate. But alas, they only had apple, blackberry and pineapple. Cole Slaw was killer. Brisket was really good. Nice char flavor. Hot link was spectacular. We're heading to the Hillsboro Original Fried Pie Shop location today in hopes of a better experience, and a brisket pie. read more

We had Adams Rib BBQ cater an event at our business and it was amazing. Laura helped me over the phone with very little notice and did an amazing job. Delivering our order the next day on top of the food being Sooooooooo Good made everything about our event easier. The food was hot, they brought serving containers, all of the condiments, serving utensils, napkins, etc. The only thing I had to do was put a cover on the tables. So very much appreciated! If I could give this zero stars, I would. We, a group of multiethnic minorities, stopped for dinner during our travels. This establishment clearly says it closes at 9pm. We stopped at 7:50 excited about having some delicious BBQ. We entered and waited but no one stepped out to take our order. We waited a few minutes and decided to leave as it seemed it was actually closing. As we were getting into our car, whoever was inside turned off all of the lights....POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We will NOT be trying it out when we pass by this area again. read more

I've eaten a lot of BBQ over the years and the best way to describe this place is lazy. I had a sliced beef plate. They didn't scrape the fat off the brisket so a quarter of my meat was fat and also dry. The beans were from a can with hunk of onion and drop of pork fat and no seasonings. The portions are sad considering 16 bucks for a single meat plate and a medium drink. I should have went to the family dollar next door and got some beef jerky and porknbeans it would have tasted better. read more

Picked up 4 chopped beef sandwiches and 2 pounds of ribs with sides to take home for dinner. Kids couldn't get enough of the sandwiches. The beans were great!!! Full of flavor. The rib meat fell right off the bone. We absolutely love bringing home dinner from here. read more

We were hoping to get some great BBQ sandwiches, but was very disappointed. The beef was very tough, had to cut it with a knife to eat. Each slice of beef had a thick portion of fat on them. It's not good if you have to carve of all the fat from your BBQ before you try your sandwich. Will not go there again. Not a good place to go! read more

Best bbq in Longview! Opened in 1992 as a bodacious but changed the restaurants name in 2005 still same ownership. They also sale fried pies from the original fried pie shop in Davis, Oklahoma which are amazing!! Different types including cherry, peach, apple ect and meat pies including broccoli and chicken, pepperoni, brisket and pork and many more options. So much to choose from in a friendly small family owned restaurant. Definitely worth trying if never been!! read more

I have been managing hotels for twenty years and always getting asked where to go for good local food (travelers get tired of the big chain restaurants). Here, in Texas, they always wanna know where to find good steak or BBQ. For the last six years, I have sent people down the Adam's Rib for the best BBQ ribs, beef, and pork. Since their remodel, the Adam's Rib crew have done an excellent job with making great food and delivering friendly service to my guests and my family when we get to go out. The brisket and ribs always top the favorites for my family and we take a few fried pies home for dessert with TV (too full to eat them at the store). Its worth the trip and with two open now, even more people will get to enjoy the tasty recipes they have created in their pits and for their sides. In all fairness, I have visited this location a number of times. And sadly every time has been a let down. Last week hubby went there and just got a plate of mixed meats, at the cost of $25.00+ with some bbq sauce and pickles, onions and peppers. I do not know what kind of sausage that was, but we spit it out. The sliced beef was dry as a bone and tasteless. the ribs were chewy and the ribbing (sheath?) was left on the backside of the ribs (we don't like that). We didn't even eat enough of it to say we had a meal, gave it to the doggie (who loved it by the way) and made us some cold cut sandwiches for lunch. Saw the sign on IH20. Found it, not busy. Ordered 2 meat plate, chicken & brisket cole slaw beans. Brisket had no taste, gray, dry. Chicken never saw a pit and was worthless. BBQ sauce sucked. Worst cole slaw I EVER HAD, Beans... yuk. Oh, did I mention they were out of plastic forks. The wife would not even finish her plate. Potato salad was poor, poor. Tea was good, ice was frozen. I did not buy any pies. I do not know how places like this even stay in business. NO I will not go back, and NO I do not recommend this place. read more
