I first tried to order the leg quarter plate that is on the menu and I was told they no longer make leg quarters. I settled for another plate with 2 sides. I tried to order Mac-n-cheese, they didn't have that either. I settled for cole slaw. I paid $30 for food that was mediocre for that price. The brisket was bland. The potato salad honestly looked and tasted like something my 12 year grandchild attempted to make. It was bland as well. I had ordered a peach cobbler on the side. When I got home and opened it, it was apple cobbler that I absolutely did not want. I want be going back and definitely do not recommend.

They have two different kinds of sauce, ("If it's good bbq, you don't need sauce") I don't care for either of them so it's a good thing their bbq is good. We mostly stick to the brisket and ribs but we've had the pulled pork as well and it's good. Haven't found a bad side yet and we've tried a lot of them. They always have peach and/or blackberry cobbler and it looks amazing but I do not like either of those. However on Sunday they have apple cobbler and it is just as amazing as it looked. They have the old fashioned long hallway walk to the ordering section that I haven't really seen since I was a kid. It brings back a lot of memories for me. They have a decent sized dining area, and a huge dance area in the back that has a full service bar and picnic tables set up for eating. We normally go into the music hall to eat and don't eat in the dining area. There's a big stage and they have live music and free dance lessons once a week.

The ambience of the place is really nice and with live music on Saturdays I'm sure the place is hopping. However, I honestly feel that the food is overrated. There are other highly rated BBQ places in Lindale that I preferred to eat at but they are only opened on Saturdays or days we weren't in town for. I imagine they are preferred more by locals simply because of the quality of food cooked on fewer days opened.

We stopped by on a whim based on a Facebook post. It's a very small older dusty building with limited seating and no restroom. They do not take cards. You have to pay cash or Zelle. They will sell out and close without notice. But we lucked out. We didn't know that most people call ahead and preferably a day or two ahead. We did have to wait about 45 minutes for our food. We were glad they hadn't already sold out. But it was quite the foodventure. Based on the aforementioned Facebook post, I ordered the Mr Big loaded baked potato. It has ham and brisket, cheese, sour cream, and bbq sauce. It came in an open faced to go container because there was no way it was closing. I had to dig down through several inches of meat just to reach the actual potato. I had to give some to my husband just to be able to close it to take home. Then I had to ask for a piece of tape. Well worth the price. My husband got the strawberry lemonade. Too sweet for me. He liked it. But it is served in a large mason jar which you get to keep. It had real strawberries in it. She even came and refilled it when it was about half gone. He got the mix plate. You can choose one or two or three meats. He got brisket and hot links. Large portions of meat. You don't get to choose the sides. You get potato salad and baked beans. He was very pleased with the amount of food. If you come expecting too much as far as atmosphere you might be disappointed. But if you want great food and a lot of it then call them up and bring your cash.

I'm not even the biggest BBQ person, which says a lot--but their brisket is unbelievable, easily the best I've had and still unmatched anywhere else I've tried. It's tender, flavorful, and consistently excellent. My go-to order is the Frito Q pie with green beans and fried okra. The sides are always packed with flavor, and I love that the okra is fried to order--it's always hot and crisp. But my absolute favorite item on the menu has to be the pork rind nachos. They're indulgent in the best way and completely unforgettable. CowBurners has become such a staple for me that I actually plan a stop whenever I'm driving from Nashville to Dallas, just to make sure I get a fix. That alone should tell you how good it is. This is one of those rare spots that keeps you coming back--not out of habit, but because nothing else quite compares.

Only in Texas will you find a place that creates great barbecue and serves it up in a taco shop…read more Wright On Taco Shop is one of the few buildings in Harleton. The small place is easy to spot; It's the one with all the vehicles parked in front. It's located less than 20 minutes from Marshall, Longview, and Jefferson. Our BBQ lunch started with chips and salsa, the staple of any good taco place. The house-made chips were dusted with chili powder and the salsa was freshly made. The salsa could have had more kick. The brisket had a nice bark, was tender, and had perfect amount of smokiness. The sauce, served on the side, was a bit sweet for my taste. The chopped brisket sandwich was just that: chopped brisket. No sloppy joe mess here. It was served on a hot, toasted bun. The accompanying fries were a let down, not as fresh as everything else. Wright On is still rough around the edges. The menu is eclectic and a little confusing at first, but you can still find familiar favorites. Sodas come in a can. Ice tea and sweeteners are an afterthought. BYOB. Wright On is catching on with recent write ups in Texas Monthly and local papers. It's worth the trip!
