Worst Eye Exam Experience…read more This was by far the worst eye exam experience I've ever had, starting with the front office. I simply did not feel welcomed, and the entire visit felt rushed from beginning to end. I was charged two separate fees during my initial visit because I had an exam for both contacts and glasses, even though I believed these services were covered by my insurance. When I later called to make a simple adjustment/addition to my prescription, I was told I needed to come back for another eye exam--and another fee--even though I had been seen less than four months ago. To make matters worse, the representative I spoke with over the phone quoted me the wrong cost for the exam, which added even more frustration and confusion to an already disappointing experience. I've already called to express my concerns and file a complaint, but nothing was done to resolve the issue. Now I'm being charged again for an eye exam within four months of my previous appointment. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service, communication, pricing information, and way this entire situation has been handled. I expected much better from an eye care provider and will not be returning.

Once I was back from work travel I went back in and picked out a frame for my new glasses. Once they arrived I was notified but when I went to pick them up they were not what I had ordered. They were the wrong frame! The manager said that she would put the lenses in the frame that I had ordered once I was able to try them on they were the wrong lenses too. They told me I would get used to them ,,,, They did not check to make sure they were the correct prescription. I said no they are not right I am looking through a fish bowl. They rescheduled me a second eye exam . .. while at my second eye exam I asked the lady if she was going to get the glasses I ordered She said when I go to the room for the eye doctor yes. When she came back she wanted me to put them on and read the wall. I did but had to take the off immediately. she told me to read the wall with them on. I told her I was looking through a fishbowl and that my migraine was triggered. I got up immediately and said forget it I want my money back . I told the lady at the desk I wanted a refund she said that she needed to have the manager do it and the manager was not there. I said to call her. The eye doctor came out and wanted to know why did not want the second exam. I told him they ordered the wrong frames and the lenses are wrong I'm looking through a fishbowl. If I am fine with the contacts that he prescribed and while doing the first exam I should have been fine with the glasses but they ordered the wrong material completely and blamed me for it. And I got pissed. A vestibular migraine effects all of your senesce and since I put those wrong glasses on this morning I am set with a migraine for the entire day! They will not return my money from their mistake, I also used my eye insurance. And since I have to travel for work the next few weeks I have to go yet another month without the refund and I also have not way of getting to a new place for an eye exam that I have to fully pay out of pocket because MyEye Dr. will not give me a refund on the mistake that they made.

Here's hoping TSO in Fort Worth will respond to my issue so I can turn this one-star review into a…read morefive-star review. And I'm only taking the drastic step of writing such a negative review because I've had problems with this store going back two years and three sets of glasses. I also don't want to impact the guys at the front, who have been absolute Princes in helping me through the issues. I have a running joke with Mattie and James of Eyes Over DFW: They see me coming into their various offices so often we joke that I'm stalking them everywhere they go. FIRST ISSUE: Two years ago I ordered two pairs of glasses, one for up-close computer work and one for driving. They came back with the lenses switched, which I only discovered once I was driving on the notoriously dangerous highways of DFW and realized I couldn't read the road signs. James reordered them without complaint, even allowing me to pick out replacement frames in the Dallas office that were more expensive than my insurance allowance. SECOND ISSUE: More recently, because I was about to move from Dallas to Fort Worth temporarily, I asked that my glasses be delivered to the TSO store on Camp Bowie, about a mile from my rental instead of the 40 miles I'd have to drive back to Dallas to pick them up. But TSO overlooked that request and sent them back to Dallas, requiring me to wait another week for glasses I needed to drive safely. THIRD ISSUE: Yesterday I was standing at the sink and heard a tiny "tink" sound and one of the lenses dropped out of my frames. I'd barely had them a week, only cleaned them 2 or 3 times, and because I've been wearing glasses for more than 60 years, know how to handle delicate eyeglasses. I've reported this all and now wait hopefully to see if this latest problem will be resolved.

I take with great pride the submission of this review for Texas State Optical (TSO), led by Dr…read more John Johnson O.D, located at 6224 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76116. This was, by far, the BEST customer service I have ever received, including military and civilian optical care services throughout the United States. As a proud US Air Force Veteran, I wanted to share my positive experiences through this 5-STAR feedback. I came across TSO - Fort Worth after my initial referral could not see me for several weeks. I Googled TSO locations close to JRB NAS Fort Worth, which is when I discovered this location. After reading many 5-STAR reviews, I decided to try TSO - Dr. Johnson, and it was a great decision. Firstly, Dr. Johnson agreed to see me the same day and perform my annual eye exam while also addressing my eye issue. I was given a convenient appointment, allowing me to complete all required documentation and insurance info online. When I arrived at this well-maintained, modern office, I was greeted with a big smile and a Texas welcome by Reyna, TSO's newest team member. Jade, who has been with TSO for a while, also greeted me. They quickly located my appointment and verified my info. There was a minor issue with my insurance, and Reyna then sought the assistance of the Office Manager, Jenny. Jenny came out to the front desk, introduced herself, and promptly resolved the minor issue with my insurance. Her skill in dealing with insurance companies and her ability to bypass long wait times was impressive. Within a concise while, Jenny escorted me to the private rooms to receive my annual eye exam and service from Dr. Johnson. Prior to Dr. Johnson's intervention, Daniela then proceeded with my initial vision exams. This was another smooth process, and Daniela, like her co-workers, provided great service, coupled with wonderful hospitality. Her technical expertise with the high-tech vision equipment was also impressive. Dr. Johnson then provided a thorough review and was meticulous in his actions and vision services. The first thing he did after his greeting to me was to thank me for my military service. He also provided detailed explanations and took the time to discuss my prior history, although it was with other eye physicians. He never rushed, nor did he provide unnecessary services. His extensive knowledge and experience impressed me, culminating in an outstanding first visit. I returned a few days later for a follow-on appointment and again received superb service from Dr. Johnson, Reyna, Jade, Daniela, and Jenny, but I also interacted with Macy and Michelle. Once again, I was warmly greeted and had a brief wait time, followed by outstanding follow-up service. This TSO location is now my preferred eye care location, and my only regret is not discovering this excellent eye care facility earlier. Throughout my visits, I observed the individual and caring service each TSO staff rendered to every customer, led by Dr. Johnson's medical expertise. As you review the multitude of 5-STAR reviews, I can confirm they are accurate and also highly recommend this exceptional TSO facility. To the great TSO team of Dr. John Johnson, Jenny, Jade, Reyna, Macy, Michelle, and Daniela, I say "Thank-You" for all you do, and I look forward to my next visit!!! For the readers of this comprehensive, ultra-positive review, I encourage you to give TSO-6224 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76116, a try, even if you currently have another eye care provider. You will not be disappointed!!!! *****5-STARS ***** Respectfully submitted, "Poppa-G" Fort Worth, TX 13 OCTOBER 2022

I would not recommend this office due to the negligence I experienced by one of their doctors. I…read morewent in because they were a referral from my insurance company and nearby. Once there, they initially seemed like good people and their office is very nice. The bill, however, was exceptional. I brought my own frames, yet they still charged me $355 and billed my insurance for an additional $1200. The doctor and staff knew that I was moving out of state and would be leaving as soon as I got my new lenses in. Chaos came when I went to pick them up and could see nothing and got an instant headache. It ended up that the doctor decided that myself, my former eye surgeon, and about 10 prior optometrists were fools and that she was special and knew more than anyone. Without my consent, and to my extreme surprise, she had completely changed the prescription to something unusable and unhelpful. Try as I might, I could not get their office to fix the prescription to what she had stated when I agreed to the script and paid them. Now, close to a year later, I have no usable glasses unless I use my old pair from a decade ago. However, they do not have the presbyopia script so I have to constantly switch back and forth between my old glasses and my readers. This was all a direct result of the doctor having a seeming God complex and being unwilling to behave as a professional or decent human. In addition to her creating considerable harm in my life, I consider them to have stolen my money as I would never have paid for new lenses that I knew were such an opposite prescription of my eyes needs. I did speak with their office again recently about the matter and they were of no help. The doctor should lose her license for such unethical and unprofessional behavior.

Making an appointment was beyond easy via phone or online, & pre-appointment paperwork was even easier to complete online. Open hours are extensive & include Saturdays - YEAH! Also, at time of this review, they offered a discount when ordering multiple glasses - WOOHOO! FYI, they DO sell contacts if you are not into eyeglasses. Plenty of parking in the adjacent lot, and location is proximate to TCU & not far from I-20, I-30, or Chisholm Trail Tollway.
