Searching for a new optometrist is like mining for diamonds, so we must celebrate the great ones! I found this location of the "my eye dr" company while shopping at the nearby grocer. Making an appointment was beyond easy via phone or online, & pre-appointment paperwork was even easier to complete online. Open hours are extensive & include Saturdays - YEAH! We were greeted by super friendly staff, had a thorough exam and consult with Dr. Poyner (she is SO smart, patient & efficient), viewed the THOUSANDS of eyeglass frame options, and Cory setup our order. Also, at time of this review, they offered a discount when ordering multiple glasses - WOOHOO! FYI, they DO sell contacts if you are not into eyeglasses. Plenty of parking in the adjacent lot, and location is proximate to TCU & not far from I-20, I-30, or Chisholm Trail Tollway. Seriously, our family agreed - we will now look forward to our annual eye checkups as long as we visit here. Five star recommendation. read more

So, I've been going to Eyes Nouveau since it opened, but now, I will be finding a new optometrist. I went in recently for an eye exam and contact fitting. It took twice as long as usual because they forgot about me in one of the exam rooms because the staff forgot to inform the doctor. Had a wonderful experience here. I am purchasing my first pair of glasses and had no idea how to select the right frames for my features. I picked a few on my own at another store and took pictures of myself. My husband and friends all said they all made me look like I was much older than my 58 years. NOT the look I was after! I read reviews on Yelp and decided to go here. I am so happy I did. Christopher is great at what he does. He has been doing this for 14 years and knows what he's doing. He picked several options that I wouldn't have even considered. The frames he helped me pick are so much more flattering. They are fun, youthful, elegant and stylish. Eyes Nouveau used to be good until they recently partnered with MyEyeDr. Their glasses, sunglasses, goggles went to a downgrade together with their opticians. My best optician James has moved to Eyes on Campbowie and thought MyEyeDr. was going to be better and gave it a one last try. Turns out, it was worse than I expected, unlike James, this new optician doesn't know how to align my glasses and instead she screwed it up even more. As soon as I approached her, she asked me what's wrong with my glasses, usually, if this was James, he would immediately know what's wrong with my glasses with just a glance without even asking. Normally, this store doesn't require an appointment for fixing your glasses but with this COVID situation they are very strict and require appointments. Once you show up in your appointment you would have to call their given number and validate what vehicle you're driving. Appointment wasn't a problem. At least, the long time optician that remained in here that I like is Chris but he wasn't there at the time of my appointment. After 2 years of experience with Eyes Nouveau, I think this will be my last visit with them after that partnership. The good opticians/ optometrists are slowly moving away from this location and the worse ones coming in. read more

I will never go to any other place for my eyes checkup and for frames. Eyes Nouveau's staff, frames presentation, and office environment is wonderful. My first visit was last year, I paid a bit more than what they actually quoted; however, no one is ever accurate because they still have to file with the insurance and you never know what the insurance company will pay for after it is billed. This place is great and has everything you need for your eye glass experience. First of all, Eyes Nouveau offers convenient appointment times for eye exams, including Saturdays for us working-class folk. I have been going here for the my past 2 annual eye exams, and my appointments have been with Dr. Bass, who is both professional and personable. My main gripe, which is minimal, is that my eye exam seems more pricey here than my previous experiences elsewhere even with insurance. I think they may have additional fees so just keep that in mind. Otherwise, my experience with Eyes Nouveau has been great. The optical side really shines! While I've seen Dr. Bass for the past 2 years for my eye glass and contact prescription, I only used the optical side recently. They offer a wide variety of designer frames at competitive prices. I previously went to a designer boutique in Dallas, which shall remain nameless. They also offer a great selection; however, they don't accept any vision insurance so everything was cash pay! Originally, I went to this designer boutique that shall not be named and fell in love with a pair of Mykita frames but held off because of cost. I was originally planning on just getting my prescription and taking it back there when the boutique had their 20% off anniversary sale. Lucky I didn't! When I came to Eyes Nouveau, I found similar Mykita frames but not the exact ones I wanted, so Chris ordered the frames I had my eye on (ha ha...get it?), which were actually cheaper here than the other place. I ended up saving a substantial amount of money with my vision insurance (way more than I would if I had purchased them during the 20% off sale), and the frames arrived about 2 weeks quicker than Chris estimated. My experience here has been very positive. I love my glasses and get compliments on them ALL THE TIME! Thank you to Eyes Nouveau for everything. If you're looking for some designer frames in the DFW area, this is definitely a place worth checking out. read more

Had a good experience with the doctors here in college so I decided to make the trip from Dallas to Fort Worth to get my eyes checked. Made an appointment on their online portal and drove down to Fort Worth on the date of my appointment. Upon arrival I was told that their online system has been allowing people to sign up for appointment times that are not available so I would have to come back another day. The woman was very unapologetic and offered nothing for the inconvenience. I told them that they should take the option off of their website if they are having issues with it which they responded was "a good idea." I wonder how many other people this has happened to! Not worth the wasted gas. Will be changing doctors in the future! read more

Went in for my appointment, got fitted for new contacts, came and picked them up, made sure my balance was paid in full and left. Six months later I get a bill for $100. After calling in confusion of why I had an outstanding balance, I was told this was the fee for trying on the contacts. Contacts which I ordered and paid for. Why the extra fee to try them on???? I've never heard of something so insane in my life. Paying $100 to "try on" contacts that I intend to keep? Then i was told the fee was for the doctor's time. Isn't that THEIR JOB? My copay and the money they get from insurance should more than cover the doctor's time, but apparently this $100 was on me. Absolutely stunned and disappointed over their lack of clear and simple communication. Will not be going back. I'm happy to search for somewhere that does not nickle and dime me to death when it comes to ordering simple contacts. read more

Office personnel finally called back (a week after promise?) and, after a 5 minute hold, said doctor had my frames and lens' blocks are at home office as everything had been shipped to them when things went south due to covid. So now waiting on ups to ship. (But that's not ups' fault. They ship all the time. It's having someone at the outlet to accept shipments). Even after they ship though lenses still have to be cut/ground for frames. So we wait. Getting more head aches now as I have to hold my head uncomfortable position to read computer screens, play guitar. read more

Walked in this morning with a new prescription looking to replace lenses on two existing frames and purchase one new frame with lenses. I stood there for a full ten minutes while the two associates were helping other customers, no problem. However, neither the female at the counter, ten feet away from me, nor the male who walked within three feet of me twice, ever looked my way, welcomed me to their store, or stated anything to the effect, "We'll be with you in a moment." This was quite the opposite of my treatment there 3 years ago. I walked out and went to Lenscrafters at Ridgmar Mall and had a fantastic experience. Spent $1700 there. I've never been excited about an eye exam but after reading the reviews on Yelp I couldn't wait for my appointment. I had a Groupon for an exam and some $$ off glasses. The exam was easy and the doctor was great. I was having problems with the sample contacts they gave me and he let me know I could come in whenever until he found the right pair for me. Buying glasses here was an experience. They take pictures, have you try on tons of glasses and stare at your face while trying to decide if you look worse than you came in looking. I imagine it's like picking out a dress for the Oscars or something. Picking lenses was tricky, unless you're an expert then really you just have to defer to their knowledge. I couldn't tell if I was being upsold or not but I was happy with what I ended up with. The frames were free with my Groupon but the lenses were $300 or somewhere around there. Too bad I lost the glasses a couple of weeks later. I'll definitely come back here to replace them though! read more

I'm almost ashamed to say that I haven't gotten an eye exam since 2007 and I definitely needed one. I don't have extremely poor vision but sometimes I feel like glasses would help. Since it had been so long and I went through a pregnancy (they say your vision changes), I decided it was time for a check up. I love Dr. Bass. He is professional, very informative and takes time to chat a bit on random topics like our our passion for fitness. The office is well staffed with friendly faces eager to assist you with finding new frames, checking in your appointment or answering any questions you may have. 5 Stars for the customer service lady named CYNTHIA in the Hulen location. My 21 year old son went in for an eye appointment at Eyes Nouveau in Southlake. The Southlake office told my son that he didn't have insurance coverage even though he insisted he did. He tried to give them his insurance policy information and identification number, but they looked at the information he provided and said that it was for dental only and refused to even call the company or check their system further. They told my son to self pay for the visit. Frustrated, I called to help out my son but I accidentally called the Hulen location instead. I'm so happy that I did, because Cynthia actually listened, investigated, and solved the problem. She is a rockstar and Eyes Nouveau is lucky to have her. Southlake location -- shame on you! I found Eyes Nouveau on Groupon, they were having a special I couldn't refuse. I went in and saw Dr. Fikkert, she was very nice and informative during the exam. We decided I could use my first pair of glasses ,so she passed me on to Jason who was a HUGE help. They have an excellent and large selection of glasses and I must have tried them all on. Once I selected the right pair they came in a timly manner (early) I would deffinatly recommend this company to anyone. You will greeted will a smile, no one will rush you or bother you, however they are happy to show you the various collections they have and answer any questions you might have! As for fitting you with the right frames, well there is none better! You will be very pleased with your selection ! I was lucky enough to attend a trunk show just by chance as I happened to go into the shop on the very day they were having it. There was a great selection to choose from and of. course I found the best pair ever! They were being ordered from Belgium so it would take a little longer than they usually take to have glasses ready, No problem! As luck would have it , I lost my old glasses and was in the shop the next day to beg for yet another new pair that could be a Rush order. Why yes, for sure and in less an hour those glasses were ordered and on the way to me. Needless to say this shop ROCKS! They are kind, helpful, and always have a smile! Terrible! The only good thing about this place is they're quick about getting you in... & too fast at getting you out! I had to TELL them about my insurance coverage that they had on file because they tried to over charge me. Onvmce inpaid everything that day o received a receipt that stated a balance of 0 and confirmed that there was no remaining balance. When my husband went to pick up my prescription, that took 3 weeks to fill, they tell me i have a remaining balance of $40+ for a contact evaluation that is separate from my regular eye exam and the Dr. hadn't entered in at the time of my checkout... I was there for almost and hour after my exam so how long does it take to enter in an exam that was charred on WHILE IT WAS HAPPENING!? They are always trying to cheat people out of money and I'm sick of it! I gave them a second chance but this was my SECOND experience with this! read more

James, the head optician and eyewear consultant, spent quite a bit of time repairing my glasses that were twisted in a biking accident. He disassembled and reassembled my glasses, replacing screws that had been bent and straightening pieces that could be straightened. I walked out of the store wearing my glasses that I had feared were beyond repair. The cost? A handshake. One of the best eye appointments I have have. Everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout the visit. The highlight was picking out my frames with James. This place is amazing! I wish I could give them 100 stars. After being displaced from Hurricane Harvey, I was in need of contacts (evacuation didn't leave me much time to grab them.) I called Eyes Nouveau when I got to Fort Worth and within 30 minutes they had my exact lenses available for me to pick up. They were incredibly helpful and very understanding of my situation. A month later I am still displaced and I need to get a new prescription anyway. So I called and made a appointment. They knew exactly who I was and asked how I was doing. It was very touching and thoughtful. My appointment was with Dr. Jordan Yip. He was great! I was in and out the door within 45 minutes with my new prescription and new contacts on order. I went to Eyes Nouveau last year at the recommendation of a friend. The store is nice, the displays are streamlined and I did not feel overwhelmed with the selection like I do at many other retailers. However, I'm incredibly indecisive when it comes to life-altering decisions (I mean, come on, I have to wear these ON MY FACE for X amount of years), and I was about ready to throw in the towel and succumb to some pair of humdrum, hello-I'm-boring-but-I-get-the-job-done, style of glasses. Then I met James. Now, I typically pride myself in my ability to select cool clothes, cool shoes, cool accessories. When it comes to choosing awesome frames, though, I place full trust in James to steer me in the right direction. He helped me choose several, and I tried on every pair, each given a nod of approval, a simple shake of the head, or, if they were really bad, a horrified "take them off, take them off now!" from James. Turns out, James really knows what flatters a face, and when I finally found My Pair (cat-eyes!), it was like discovering the Holy Grail; birds were singing, the sun was shining, puppies were frolicking, etc. etc. I had such a great experience that I came back this year for another pair (Groupon in hand). James is a popular dude, and I actually left several times when he was busy with other customers and came back when he was free. That's not to say that he's the only capable sales person here - everyone is very helpful and nice. I just really appreciate that James is willing to accommodate the level of hand-holding I require to make a decision, regardless of how many trips it takes until I finally find my perfect pair. He's not pushy, he is just determined that every customer is completely satisfied, and that they leave with a great looking pair of frames. Eyes Nouveau carries a lot of high-end brands that aren't exactly budget friendly.
