Giving this 4 stars for the hotel and vibe but this Rix place just ain't it. Medium rare steaks came out looking like pot roast, shrimp is under cooked and the seafood tower came out of the thornapple river im pretty sure. To be fair, service was incredible.

My wife and I went to Rix for dinner last night. It was 75 and sunny in mid March in Michigan (never seen that before) so we jumped on the chance to do a date night at a new spot! Rix didn't disappoint. We sat at the bar along that looked out onto the river. They had the garage door or window opened up so it felt like we were sitting outside. It was awesome. My wife got a cab to drink- decent pour. We started with the elote hummus- not bad at all- a little bland, but plated well and lots of dipping vessels. I got a Caesar with chicken- chicken was awesome and I enjoyed the anchovies and poached eggs- great touch. My wife got the chef's board- she really liked it. One of the cheeses was a vanilla bean and bourbon cheese from Wisconsin- super unique and delicious. All said- a great night with good food and a fun atmosphere. Worth checking out!

We stayed at the Ada hotel for my birthday. The hotel room was gorgeous in and of itself. The rest of the hotel was immaculate. Beautifully decorated. We got a king size bed with a balcony. The balcony overlooked the park in the river. There was high end shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion provided in the room. We visited the two restaurants on site: Rix and The Post. You're able to bring your drinks around the hotel with you if you are staying there. It was the weekend of the Kentucky Derby so the staff showed out in traditional Derby attire. That was really cool to see. My only gripe about the room was there was a ledge blocking the street from view when we sat down in the chairs on the balcony. I like to people watch and couldn't do that sitting down. Would definitely stay again.

Great food and a wonderful ambiance. May have to walk a bit for parking but it is worth it.

Service was outstanding and the food was throughly enjoyed across our party of four . I kicked off with deviled eggs and followed with lamb shepherds pie . Both the appetizer and entree were fantastic . The shepherds pie was filling and I loved the presentation of the potato surrounding the lamb and vegetables. My fiancee had Caesar salad to start followed by salmon . Similar to my summary that both dishes were fantastic. We will definitely be back again.

I had heard that this place had good food, but because the price point was a bit higher than average, I wanted to try it for myself before bringing my family. The service was attentive and friendly. The food, however, did not meet expectations. I found the deviled eggs to be overcooked and a bit rubbery while simultaneously lacking flavor. The presentation was nice but I care more about the taste than how it looks. The Tavern Smash Burger does not seem to know what it wants to be. The patties were thicker than a traditional smash burger, lacking the juiciness of a regular burger while also missing the caramelization of your typical smash patty. The accompanying "Chef's Sauce" for the burger was not particularly flavorful and there was not enough acidic content to counter the fattiness of the burger. The bacon that topped the burger was cubed pieces that were chewy and frankly off-putting, and I found myself wishing for crispy bacon strips instead. All in all, I really wanted to love this place, but I just don't. The food wasn't terrible, but also nowhere near good enough to justify the cost or make me want to stop back in.

Our host was super kind, helpful with the menu and had a sense of humor. Grape leaves - I believe it was cold if I remember, and it's a softer/mushy texture. The host called it "Turkish Sushi." It was good and different! Appetizers- phenomenal. Fresh, hot, flavorful. We had cheese served on a hot stone, it was beautiful. Nothing was over or under seasoned. Everything was cooked perfectly. Nice fry, nice bake, nice sizzles. Salmon was cooked just right. Calamari was fried great and had a good crunch. Feta borek reminded me of crab cheese ragoons. I love the way it's prepared though, even bites and good flaky crunch. The shell is light and wasn't greasy. Baklava was delicious. Rice pudding was delicious. Drinks were on point. 10/10 will be back again!

Zeytin serves authentic Turkish cuisine along with other middle eastern and American food. A table favourite was the Pepper Delight. Basically, chopped red and green peppers combined with walnuts and tomato. I highly recommend both the Rice pudding and the Fried calamari. Nice big plate I had almost all to myself. The service was friendly and somewhat attentive. My friend, Darius, ordered the Chicken shish kebab and the pita was dry, cold and stale. They immediately returned with fresh, hot, moist bread. The wait for the initial order and drink refills was a bit longer. The dining area is large, yet cozy. The eatery has a very embracing, warm ambiance and it's a great gluten-free zone. The guy that suggested we stop here eats vegan. 01/26
