Margarita Flight
Gretchen D.

Finally got over to try Luna's. It was fairly busy on a Thirsday night, but we were seated in the patio right away. The patio is screened and has nice heaters in the ceiling. We were quite comfortable. Service was quick and friendly. Pet peeve: I don't like to trend of having to scan a QR code for the menu. Oh well. Also note, they only take credit and debit cards, so don't plan on paying cash. A couple of shared the Margarita flight. It was good. I liked the classic best, The prickly pear tasted more like hibiscus to us. Three of us shared to chips and salsa. We liked the verde sauce best. The salsa was decent. The chips were good, definitely homemade and fried. One nit pick-they should have been salted a bit more. For the tacos we had the chicken, the carne asada, and the pork. They were all good, We felt the flavor on the carne asada was best, but the pork texture and flavor was superb. The chicke was good, but we all liked the others better. Also appreciated the picled vegetables and grilled onions that come with. Especially like that they provided a lime wedge for every taco. All in all, we enjoyed it and plan to return.

I ate the fish taco before taking a pic! The other is the carne asada.

We love Luna/ last week was not our fave, so we were worried that things were going south. We were wrong. Things were better that ever. I asked the server, who was awesome, for a gluten free notion besides the tacos. She told me she has been ordering the chicken fluatas. They weee so flavorful, a nice warm heat. My husband got the carna asada taco that he loved. My friend got the soup with the avocado added, recommended by the server. Such great flavor. Would have liked it a titch warmer but didn't want to ask it to be microwaved to remove any flavor. Ordered the chips and guacamole, as we always do, the chips are so good. Love the guacamole, wish there were no tomatoes but still love it!

Tacos highly recommend the steak!

2 Family Meals for 6

Excited to have another Luna location in Grand Rapids and closer to us in Ada! We have stopped in for a few dinners and our latest experience was ordering a huge takeout order for our family Christmas meal! We ordered 2 Family Meals that each feed 6 people. We had 6 adults and 3 kids but had enough food that lasted us for a week. We ended up having more people over the next day and still couldn't finish it all. We ordered a variety of proteins, pickled veggies (SPICY!), elote, and the meals included a ton of sides. They also gave us some orders of Chicken Flautas even though we didn't order them, which was great for the kids. Overall, our experience ordering online and picking it up went great. We scheduled a time for the order and they text you when your order will be ready in 10min. The timing worked perfectly and everything was correct. Everyone loved their build your own tacos!

Definitely not your "white people taco night". First time visiting. Margarita's were incredible. The flight is A LOT but a great way to try multiple flavors. We went simple and just got multiple different protein tacos, all were awesome. Our favorite was the chorizo, not super greasy like most mexican joints. Salsa- Diablo sauce is fire- literally and in the way the cool kids use the word. The most flavorful of the three was the verde salsa but all were significantly better than other options in west michigan. I would give it 5 stars based on the food, service, and cost. The atmosphere/furnishings leaves a lot to be desired but the food is totally worth it.

Great margarita's many flavors though I believe the classic is the best ! Salsa flight and add guacamole is a great way to start then pick your tacos , I went fish and shrimp tonight and my wife went surf and turf , one fish one steak . The fish taco w pineapple salsa was the best

Need to come back for green Chile enchiladas that are the special Saturdays. Wish there were healthier options. Ended up having a shredded chicken tamal that was good in flavor. The delivery was ordered ahead of time for a specific time as well. The tacos were picked up right at the order time and dropped off to me 7 minutes later. My order was DISGUSTING. Rice was hard and dry. The enchilada was smothered in melted shredded cheese. Nothing was inside of the taco or enchilada except plain, bland, ground beef. My hard shell taco was submerged in sour cream and melted shredded cheese that the enchilada was submerged in. They forgot my chips. I opened the Queso and there is a film of oil on top. I called the restaurant to tell them and they told me that's the way it's always served. They didn't offer to help me and they didn't apologize. I would steer clear of this location. Better off getting Taco Bell than nasty soggy flavorless oily food.

Parking can be problematic at this downtown site, especially for people with mobility issues. We go several times a year just ourselves, but just the other day took all the adult kids with us and had a wonderful time. Food is consistently very fresh and delicious. I asked the hostesses a couple times if there was an estimated time it would be ready and they said "no idea" and acted like there was nothing they could do. I stood there watching orders come out for pickup at 7:02pm, 6:58pm, etc all show up. Yet mine, that was promised at 635pm was still not ready when those were coming out. This location has terrible options for parking to pick up orders so it was extremely annoying having to wait that long after the scheduled pickup time. Worst of all, when I got home, our order wasn't even correct! We had two bud boxes with two tacos in each one. My wife had two of the same tacos in here's even though she ordered two different ones. Mine had some sort of brisket taco in it instead of the chicken one I ordered. AND the tacos and queso were very cold. So I don't know what was going on with this location and this order but it was a complete disaster and major letdown. I even tipped a few dollars on the to go order, when I placed it, only to be severely let down on all fronts by the staff and food.

The service is over the top and the guy working there is super friendly. It's the perfect quick grab and go spot off a grassy lot near wealthy if you go to the food truck location! This is where I most recently had it and it was just as delicious as at the food truck location.

Its now located in the basement of a small restaurant complex, open kitchen layout, kind of a bar-ish feel around. I thought they maybe shared the space with another business but im not 100% sure. I tried 4 different proteins in taco form - chicken, carne asada, flank steak and al pastor. To rank them, 1a Chicken, 1b pastor, 2 carne asada, all 3 of those were top notch, the flank steak was hit or miss for me, some bites were tasty others were to fatty/gelatinous for me. White onion and cilantro on top, went light on those which I would have liked more of. Hand made tortillas were also great. My big issue was the price point.. +$5 for each taco is to steep for a midwest taqueria in the basement of a restaurant. If price wasnt an issue for me then this would be the only taqueria I would go to in GR, but unfortunately price does play a part, but i will say they didnt skimp on the protein. I ordered 2 Tostada, 1 chicken and 1 shredded beef. I only received the 1 chicken tostada and I really wish I could have tried the shredded beef. But if I were to go back I would 100% get the tostada again, it was delicious, my favorite item by far, $7 for the tostada and although steeper then I feel its worth, it felt more worth then the $5 tacos and if I go back it will be what I order. Instead of a Tostada I got a mystery meat quesadilla. Authentic quesadilla but not what you expect if you are use to ordering them at other local joints. It was decent but definitely a grease ball. It was our least favorite item. We also ordered chips with 2 salsa and a side of guacamole. Chips and salsa were $8, chips were okay, homemade for sure but enough of the chips didnt feel fully fried. Salsas came in 2 2oz cups, again felt weak for the price point. No way those chips made it through that salsa, probably not even half the chips made it through the salsa, needed way more. The worst thing we tried by far was the $5 guacamole in a 2.5 Oz container. If im paying $5 for guacamole I expect more then half an avacado worth of guacamole, on top of that it was mid guacamole at best. The 2 salsa was a salsa verde and a peanut salsa, i didnt catch which pepper was used in the peanut salsa. The salsa verde was okay, somewhat bland. The peanut salsa was fabulous, I loved that it was not too spicy but so much flavor, will be one of the main reason I return. The owner was so so friendly, it was only him and 1 other dude. Im not trying to rip the business but to make it my go to taqueria would be hard to justify with what I got and what I paid for. My personal opinion, if the owner is making tortillas like that I would love to try a big flour tortilla burrito with that peanut salsa. Overall for the price point it was hard to justify. Some of the food i got was really delicious, some of it really didn't hit. Ill definitely be back but ill give it some time.

The owner was super sweet, and it was fun getting to converse with him for a bit. This place takes card, cash, and accepts Apple Pay (not sure about Google Pay, but can ask next time). Los Pinches GR make the Mexican staples- tacos ($2.99), tortas ($10), quesadillas ($6/$9), and burritos ($10). They also have desserts ($4.50), like conchas rellenas, and carota (Mexican lemon pie). For drinks, they have water, coke, Jarritos, and Mexican coke. I got the pastor and suadero tacos. The portions were smaller than I expected, so I would recommend getting three tacos if you want to come out feeling satiated. I really loved the suadero (brisket confit) tacos - I would recommend trying that one. The brisket was tender and juicy - I did wish they added more of it to my taco! The pastor taco was pretty good. Something that did surprise me was how juicy the limes were. I always ask for limes with my tacos at Mexican restaurants, but they usually turn out to be dry, which leaves me barely any juice to squeeze out. However, the limes Los Pinches GR gave me were really juicy! The little things that bring me joy....
