    Taco bowl

Small, clean, colorful Mexican spot on the outskirts of Grand Rapids. Relatively cheap eats at roughly $15/person. Food was solid, but nothing very exciting or different. We had chips and salsa, three tacos and the taco bowl. Service was pretty quick and effortless.

We had a great dinner at Tia Juana! While the place is a little small, it's very bright and colorful with lots of natural light. We ordered at the counter and our food was brought to us in good time. I ordered the California Burrito, which was delicious and filling. I also really like that drinks are brought out in these terracotta mugs; I've never been to a restaurant that does that before. I'll definitely have to come back and try their Quesabirria tacos sometime!

I absolutely love everything. I've tried from Tia Juana!! I've had the "Asada Fries" and the "San Diego Burrito" both are meals all on their own! That's to say that you get plenty for what you pay for and it's absolutely delicious!! As for ambiance, I've always ordered takeout, but it looks to be a very clean, bright café to stop in for lunch or dinner. Service is always quick and very polite. I would highly recommend eating at Tia's!!

First time at Tia Juana's. Very clean restaurant, bathrooms were clean as well. The food was amazing, very tasty and good size portion. We had the SD and the California burrito's. Looking forward to our next visit to try something new. I'm pretty sure everything on the menu is great!

I have grown up in west Michigan, and I do not know how I missed this place. Tucked away off the belt line, Tia Juana is a bit awkward to get to and most people I know just go to Noodles and Company. Yet, my friends and I were able to give this place a try. First the service was great! Second the restaurant was bright, clean and fun! Last, the tacos were AMAZING. My friends and I all got the Burris tacos and I could take a bath in the juice. The taco was served hot off the grill. I did think the meat was a bit salty, but my friends disagreed. So take that review with a grain of salt - HA! As for price, I think it was worth the money and on par for most casual taco places. Overall I would return and give it a solid 4/5 stars.

Had the TJ Asada, it was great! Good flavor, done perfectly and, as always, great service.

Gorgeous locale. The menu is full and complete with traditional Mexican classics. Customer service is on point. This place should be packed and I hope it does one day. It's a little tucked away right off Beltline and Knapp. The salsa verde had great taste and is mild for those with a weaker spice pállate. The light green one might make you shed a tear if you're not used to that level of spice. The free salsa with chips reminds me of the homemade salsa my friends mom makes. Has the right balance between cilantro, salt and tomato. You can tell they have dedicated a lot of time into the details. I ordered the birria chilaquiles in salsa verde and dios mío the explosion of flavor in my mouth. I'm very sensitive to salt so it's on the saltier side for me Pero omg it's blasting with flavor. It was $13 and very well worth it.

Three tacos with rice and beans

The restaurant is bright and wonderfully decorated, the workers were very nice and provided recommendations on which tacos to get. For the food, I found that all three different kinds of meat to be far too greasy, so much so that the bottom of the container had a layer of grease. And for me the beans and rice were lacking flavor with the beans being a really runny consistency. I may try again but wasn't a favorite to start.

Excellent place. Extremely clean and nice decor. The tacos were really good. The rice and beans were very well prepared. My favorite touch was the al pastor tacos had tiny bits of pineapple in them as they should! I'm looking forward to another visit.

Food was unreal--staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. One of my go-to's!

I honestly thought Tia Juana was open well before they were because every time I drove by, the sign was lit but the indoors were not, thinking that maybe I just missed the hours or something, but due to Covid, I think they just had to delay their opening date. I was really excited when a group of friends decided to go early on in their opening to try. It is counter service, and had very cute decor. It has limited seating, but also includes some counter seats. A friend got there early and pushed together tables for us to enjoy dinner together and the staff was extremely welcoming. We received menus at our table because we were sitting and chatting while we waited for everyone to arrive, but once we were all ready, we went up to the counter to order. It was honestly really hard to decide what to try, but I ended up ordering 3 taco platter with rice and beans (for $15), to try the quesabirria, al pastor and chorizo. Everything was DELICIOUS! These are always my 3 staple tacos to try at various locations and I will say that I enjoyed them all for different reasons. The quesabirria was definitely a bit greasy so I did have to use a handful of napkins to soak up some of them. While I know I'll come back again, I just have a couple critiques: 1) I am a little disappointed that you could not order water without opting in for a bottle of water though, and 2) The napkins are very thin and a bit flimsy. It was a little running joke at our table of how many napkins we would use (I think I got to 8??) to feel clean and felt bad using so many. However, overall a really great experience!

Inside the chorizo mulita - I expected it to be very greasy as chorizo sometimes is, and was pleasantly surprised it was not at all!

I've been watching and waiting for Tia Juana, and I'm so excited they're open now! They are a smaller location, and we had a group of 6, so one in our group arrived a bit early to get a table since we were eating around dinner time on a week night. Thankfully, she didn't have any issue getting us a spot! Orders are placed up at the front counter and they bring your food out to you. But although you place orders at the counter we still had staff come ask us if we needed anything else, which was very nice. We did need silverware, but that was really it. I want to try everything, but I also didn't want to order way too much food. We shared some tortilla chips and there are sauces on the table for them. The sauces were all really good, and I appreciate that the chips aren't super oily. For dinner I ordered a poblano taco and a chorizo mulita. I wanted the chile relleno plate, but decided to go the taco route so I could try a mulita too. The poblano taco was very good! I would definitely try the full chile relleno dinner next time! The chorizo mulita was also very good! I expected it might be pretty greasy as chorizo tends to be, but it was very minimally greasy! I was very pleasantly surprised. For a drink I just had a water, but was very envious of the agua de jamaica that a few of the other girls got. They all said it was very good and not overly sweet. The only 2 criticisms I have are that the napkins are the really thin kind that fall apart super easily, and that it was really cold inside. I feel bad using as many napkins as what were needed, but thankfully I had a wet nap in my purse. And I can't really dock them anything for being too cold since none of us said anything about it. We were next to a fireplace and probably should've just asked if we could turn it on. We'll remember that next time!

This new spot is so bright and welcoming. Nate and I stopped by recently for an early dinner. You order at the front and grab a seat. We got an al pastor taco, asada taco, a chicken mulita (like a mini quesadilla) and a jamaica to drink (hibiscus tea beverage). They also have birria, asada fries, paletas, quesadillas, and other dinner plates. I love the murals and decor at Tia Juana - and the exterior is a super bright blue which is so pretty. We initially sat at the bar, as it's cool to see them preparing and making the food, but it was kind of uncomfortable because the bar doesn't have any space for your legs. So we just moved to a table. We were brought chips and salsa to enjoy with our jamaica. The drink was super refreshing and flavorful - and not too sweet. I loved it. They also have bottled soda and water. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty, nothing super unique but a nice starter. Our food came out all together and it looked great. The tacos were tasty! We both loved the al pastor, which looked like chorizo but had pineapple and was super flavorful. The asada was good, too. Both the tacos came with guacamole on them, which was kind of surprising to me as I feel like that's usually a premium ingredient. The mulita was good, I wished it had more melty cheese and that it held together a little better. Their corn tortillas are made in house, which is admirable. I found them to be a little lacking in flavor and a bit dry, but overall I enjoyed the flavors of the food and the service was friendly and warm. I definitely want to go back and try the asada fries and some other dishes. As someone else mentioned, the dining area is a bit loud due to the open kitchen and the hood vents.

Honestly it was an incredible location for a space and had such a great vibe inside. My best friend is a regular at the restaurant and we're hoping to see them more in smaller capacities like when we saw them at the Fulton St. Market. Overall, the food was really good. I like the concept of fast-casual dining without the need to have a server. I think it allows things to feel more casual and allowed for me to be more willing to eat there (obviously in other circumstances lol). I got the horchata hot cakes with some of the papas with ghost sauce. I thought the pancakes were GREAT and more than worth it for the price. I was surprised how large and fluffy they were. The flavor was great without being too sweet and none of the flavors being too overpowering. My friends got the breakfast sandwiches and chaichata drinks and absolutely loved them. My friend loved her drink so much she got two within the span of us eating. I know it's a hard time for local businesses but I'm hoping there are more ways we can still see them around.

Different from the last time I was here but we were told to find a seat upon entering and that when we were ready, we could order our food at the counter. I looked over their menu and found lots of good breakfast taco options, the breakfast burrito I have heard is great, but what really caught my attention was the biscuits and gravy. I was feeling quite ravenous this morning and got the full order for $11 and a side of bacon. They had a table close to the entrance with extra menus, clean cups, water jugs, hot sauces, silverware and napkins. Seemed like a help-yourself vibe which I grabbed everything we would need for our meal. Our food was brought to us rather quickly and my bf ordered the breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs and sausage. He told me it tasted so good and he loved that he could make his own tacos with his food. He let me try one of the hashbrown rounds and it was perfectly crispy! My biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. The biscuits were so fresh and the gravy had a really nice and comforting flavor to it. You could get chorizo and mushrooms in your gravy but i went with a traditional sausage for my protein. My bacon on the side came in a tiny dish but I ate all four pieces haha. Once we finished, there were some bus bins under the same table with the silverware, we placed all our dirty dishes there and cleaned up after ourselves before leaving. I honestly felt so content leaving there and can't wait to return. I really appreciate the ambiance in there with the beautiful plant life, the lights on the ceiling, and cool decor in general. The staff was also SO NICE! Wins everywhere. I also noticed people coming in for takeout which is good to know in case I don't feel like dining in some morning. Please check this place out sometime if you're in the mood for some really good breakfast that doesn't break your bank account.

It's already summer at Condado, which also means $6 frozen margs! Of course, I had to indulge and the prickly pear lavender single-handedly will get me back to Condado all summer. We went for a family dinner on a Sunday with a group of seven, including two kids, and had a great experience from start to finish. Kids eat free on Sundays, which was such a nice surprise, and the kids' menu is generous with great options--an entrée, a side, and a drink. My husband and I also enjoyed flight night, which was a lot of fun. I tried the strawberry, prickly pear lavender, and harvest pear margaritas. They were all very good--while the prickly pear lavender sounded better than it tasted for me personally, it was still enjoyable. One of my favorite things about Condado is the customization. Their signature creations are great, but being able to build a taco exactly how I want it is my favorite part. And I could honestly live off their corn salsa--it's so good and always a must-have! The restaurant was super clean and not very busy when we visited, so we were seated right away and our food came out quickly. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, especially with our energetic little ones. We had such a great experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend this location!
