Liquor license in full swing now, but I didn't partake since it was a business lunch meet up. Later lunch around 2:30 so it was super slow but the service was great and the food was excellent as well. Apparently the salsa was bland on my last visit but bumping up the rating this visit since no issue at all with salsa except that I couldn't get enough. Got the steak Monterey nachos and it was pretty solid, I'd be back again. While in the Grand Rapids area for my mother's graduation, we decided to go to Pure Mex to celebrate her amazing accomplishment. Since it was recommended by one of her friends, we were excited to try their food. Thankfully, it was pretty empty so we were able to be seated right away. The interior was nice and the menu included everything from chimichangas and enchiladas to tacos, burritos and specialty items so we took a few minutes to figure out what we wanted since everything sounded great. My sister was intrigued by the Molcajete, which included steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, peppers and onions with green onions, grilled queso and red guajillo salsa served in a hot molcajete. We ordered that to split while my daughter ordered the Quesabirria Tacos. My mom decided on the Shrimp Enchiladas and her friend ordered the Chicken Fajitas. Our server brought out our food fairly quickly and made sure we had everything we needed. We also ordered Guacamole but it was literally just mashed avocados. We had to add salt for flavor. My mom and her friend enjoyed their meal but my daughter mentioned her Quesabirria Tacos lacked flavor also. The Molcajete was absolutely delicious. The meats were seasoned very well, cooked perfectly and paired well with the sauces and cheeses. I didn't even eat it with the tortilla, it was great all by itself. We also ordered the Choco Flan, Tres Leches cake and Churros but I wasn't a fan of any of them unfortunately. Overall, it was a decent spot and I'm sure there are other great food items on the menu to try so check them out if you're in the area. read more

Stopped in for dinner last night, first time at this locations. Quickly sat in a small booth and greeted with chips and salsa. The location isn't as cute as the grandville one but still very clean, We both ordered a diet coke - it was sooooo good, perfect carbonation. (iykyk) I ordered the carne asada street tacos. The meal came with three very large tacos (pico, sour cream and cheese), beans and rice. Let me tell you, this meal was sooooooooooo good! I can't recommend it enough. My friend for the street taco meal with three different tacos and loves it. The only thing I would say needs improvement is drink refill service, I did have to walk to the serve stand to get another diet coke. The jalapeno in the pico was spicy but in the best way! Hands down best tacos in the area. 12/10 recommend! read more

What a great stop. Fast, Friendly and Delicious come to mind. Right off the expressway across from the mall tucked away but still visible from the road. Large parking lot and no steps to enter. Greeted when I entered and found my way to the bar. Bartender was knowledgeable and kind. We were only there for drinks and man theyadena delicious Margarita. Quick in and out at 5:30p on a Monday. Very friendly, attentive servicer quickly delivered chips & salsa. Their salsa is not my favorite, pretty lack luster water tomato flavor but the chips were fresh & warm. I've tried all the taco meat choices at this chain and by far the best (for us) is the carne asada. I ordered 3 with a side of guacamole which was fresh and needed just a tad of salt. 2 tacos filled me up! Husband enjoyed the Border Asada taco meal and it was filling. Great, quick meal. read more

Lunch after visit to Tanger Outlets. Pure Mex is kind of a hidden gem. Way understated. The menu is vast and the service is impeccable. Ordered the shrimp cocktail and a fajita quesadilla. Both were excellent and abundant. The shrimp cocktail was reminiscent of the shrimp cocktails offered at restaurants in Cabo. Extremely good and abundant. Also ordered a top self margarita and was very satisfied with what was delivered. The service was exceptional with attention paid to every need. The service was amazing. The food came quickly. The pastor was flavorful and the barbacoa was very tender. They give you a generous portion of chips immediately upon seating. They serve a lunch menu until 3pm everyday. I got all of this delicious food for only $11. read more

This was my favorite Mexican restaurant but the last four times I have gone I have been disappointed. I don't know if the cooks changed, if they changed ingredients or what... the chips used to be delicious but I think they changed them. Used to LOVE LOVE their fajitas - both chicken and steak, alike. Both of them have gone downhill. Dry, chewy, cheap steak... dry, flat chicken. Used to be so good. Loved the ambience. It was bright and colorful. The music was pretty loud but we didn't mind it. The waitress was really friendly and the food came out really fast after ordering. We got the Portobello quesadilla, shredded chicken quesadilla, one veggie taco, and Mole enchiladas. The food was pretty standard, no surprises and delicious. The poppers were okay, the chicken fajitas were large and amazing, the portobello Quesadillas was fantastic, my dish which I had high hopes for was a disappointment! the mole sauce was dry and absolutely tasteless and sparse the chicken inside was dry and cold, I was so bummed as I had recommended the restaurant to my family! Foods decent. but they have horrible customer service. I went in to eat alone and it was fairly busy, put my name on the list and waited. Came time for me to get seated and they proceeded to seat 2 different groups that came in after me making me wait even longer. I asked why I hadn't been seated yet and they said they were waiting for a table for me when I could clearly see they had several two tops in each area they could put me at. Apparently if you go in alone you're just not worth enough money for them to care about. I will not be returning. read more

I hope this restaurant can improve, because I'd like to see it make it. Our experience was not very good. They do not yet have a liquor license, so I wanted to try an agua fresca. They were out of the one I wanted, so I picked another. It never arrived. Out of four entrees, only one was good. The ground beef in mine was too spicy, and not in an appealing way. It also looked like pureed beef, almost like you might find in a can. The food came out quickly but was lukewarm. We were not offered more than the initial basket of chips, and the salsa had zero flavor. This is ironic considering how spicy the ground beef was. I also found it odd how tiny the font was on the menu (and I don't wear glasses). I think this place needs some tweaks to hit the mark with this area, which will be a lot of families with children. I don't know if this location is related to the Pure Mex in Grandville, but there was nothing similar about the experience. Service here was good though. I'll maybe wait a year and try again, too many other good choices nearby to throw away $75 on a poor meal. read more
