Our friends suggested this Mexican restaurant and we tried it. Our first takeout experience was just okay. The horchata was too sweet and had too much ice, and the burritos were a little salty. We tried again, still takeout, and it was better! The service was fast, and the workers were friendly and polite. The food was delicious! The meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. The wrap was a bit small for the huge amount of fillings, but that's a good problem to have ^_^. We still haven't dined in, which is why I'm giving them 4 stars. But we'll definitely be back. We come here for take out and eat in. My husband always gets the steak fajitas, we always get the fiesta fajitas. They have a lot of different choices. There is plenty of parking next to auto store. We love eating here. They do charge for credit cards of 4%. So it's easier to pay cash. Even when we take out we pay in cash. The food is so good. The appetizers nachos with meat were delicious. The other Cheese sauce appetizer either chips is another good choice. We always have wonderful service from the wait staff. The food is always hot, delicious and portions are great. Disappointed. Finally tried this place for the first time. My rice and beans were barely warm. They got the meats wrong in my husband's order. We asked for just some plain ole salt and took over 10 mins so we just asked another server. Also the server didn't know if the tamales were pork or chicken -- they are pork by the way. And lastly...my husband ordered a combo that comes with a "chalupa". When it came out it was a tostada. When asked what they considered the difference between a tostada and a chalupa - the server told us that the people in the kitchen said " the difference is that one has meat and the other doesn't" What a lame and such a poor excuse. Just as good as their other location in town, they know how to make "authentic" Tex-Mex food to appeal to the West Michigan crowd. The staff is welcoming and they provided quality service throughout our dinner. I ordered the Combo 1, which was a taco and 2 enchiladas. The price can't be beat for the portion and it was very good. My wife got the Tex-Mex burrito and it was massive. Luckily she was sharing with our daughter and it worked perfectly. This place is exactly what you want when you crave Tex-Mex. Went today for lunch, after church, for lunch with our friends. Here are some of the pros and cons. Pros: decent Tex-Mex food for Michigan. Nice vibes, welcoming, and friendly servers. Prices were fair. Lots of options on the menu. Easy to find. Chips and salsa were free. Cons: Main server had no personality, and was unkind to other servers who didn't speak English well. Great place with great food. The staff is phenomenal. I like that they're always posting specials and / or deals on their social media. My favorite part is they always have a game on. I dont have to go to Uccellos down the road to watch the game. I can come here and know I can watch it without it being super loud. Take out is great, inside service isn't so great. Service is super fast, chips and salsa are delicious, the Queso is one of my favorites! They have lots of options to choose from; their combo meals are definitely a great deal, lots of food and very affordable. I wish the waitress we had was friendly, I think it would've made the experience a lot better. They definitely gas light you when you have an issue, I had raw ground beef but they claim it is their seasoning and stated "we get that complaint all the time". So make sure to watch for that. This is a nice restaurant next to a banquet hall, and the entrance is next to the banquet hall, so don't get confuaed! The service was prompt and just right:attentive without being overbearing. The waitress even advised me on the right bowl of soup to get (medium size), and the caldo de pollo was delicious and just the right amount. TLDR: Beware, this restaurant claims that they serve meat with "pink seasoning." In reality, this "pink seasoning" is undercooked/raw meat that they try to gaslight you into eating, and according to the owner, they get this complaint often. I received a burrito that had a golfball sized chunk of pink meat. When I politely brought this to the attention of the server, instead of just apologizing and offering to fix the issue, she got defensive and went to get the owner. Despite me only wanting to bring this issue to the server so they knew undercooked meat was being served, the owner came out very defensive claiming that this happened all the time and that it was in fact just "pink seasoning" that they put in their meat. Again, this was a golfball sized chunk, not a flake of seasoning. I felt as though I was being gaslit by the owner and was basically told that's just how things are here and to get over it. The owner even mentioned that he gets this "complaint" often, and that it was nothing to worry about. I won't be returning the this restaurant and I would not recommend this to anyone. read more

My husband asked to go to dinner at a Mexican restaurant for Father's Day, this weekend. My man really likes Mexican - we went twice when we were in Wisconsin, two weeks ago. Now that Michigan is 'opened up' again, he was pretty excited to go out, here. So, we decided on San Marco's in Hastings - we go to every once in a while but is a little further away, but my daughter's friend said this restaurant doesn't require masks and is 'laid back'. We drove down there, and... When we got there, the trouble started. They said only six people per table. We have five children, which makes us a family of seven, but it was FATHER'S day, 2pm, there were only three other tables in the restaurant with people at them. We hoped they wouldn't make it an issue. They said that we couldn't sit at the SAME table, but that they could seat us 'next to each other'. I wasn't happy - we're a household, not strangers - we rode in a car over, together, for the love of Pete. But we agreed, since the tables would be near... or so we thought. They then proceeded to seat my husband at a table some distance from the rest of us, ALONE. On Father's Day!! I was Peeved. Off. In capital letters. So I told him to just come over and sit with the rest of us. Immediately the waiter went and got management, who came waving papers from the CDC ('The Law', he said. 'Recommendations', I corrected, 'None of this has gone thru Congress, so therefore it's not a law'.) He insisted he would not let my husband sit with us. "It's like this isn't America, anymore!" I objected. The man nodded vigorously. "No, it isn't! He can't stay at this table!" Scared little weasel. He lost our business, forever. So we drove to the next closest Mexican restaurant, twelve minutes up the road - Real Arriero in Caledonia. ((It was sort of on the way home, anyhow.)) My husband and I went in, hackles up. The girl at the door asked how many, and I said, "I don't know if you can help us. We have five children and want to take Daddy out for lunch for Father's Day... so there's seven of us." "Come in! Come in, we can have you seated with no problem!!" she assured us, and said, "Go and get your children. We're pleased to have you!" She seated us, and asked how our day was going. I explained about the last place, and how it was so awful. "You won't have that here!" she declared. "Let me get chips and salsa for you... here are menus. You're fine, here." WHAT. A. DIFFERENCE!! All of the tension fell off our shoulders. They gave us so much food, it was a lot less expensive than the last time we'd driven out to the first restaurant, and the man who waited on us was friendly and kind. ((Another group came in after ours - they had EIGHT people!)) We left full and relieved and happy and amazed at the difference. Left an enormous tip for their goodness to us. There are still pockets of patriots, out there. So our Father's Day was redeemed! read more

It was okay. I was hungry for a nice fajita plate and the Fiesta Fahita came quickly and it tasted pretty good. But it obviously hadn't been cooked up fresh; the pre-cooked ingredients were simply piled on a cast iron plate and heated up. The fun of a real fajita is to have it come sizzling to your table, everything cooked just moments before. This dish is a combination of steak, chicken, bacon, and shrimp. I had a hard time locating the three, rather small, pieces of shrimp in mine. Stopped in for dinner as we have done regularly in the past. It was about 15 minutes til closing. Had they turned us away at that point everything would have been fine. But we ordered cocktails- mine being a big margarita in the fish bowl- and dinner which came very quickly.Ten minutes after close(25 min total inside restaurant) manager comes up and rudely tells us we have to leave. I told him I was drinking as fast as I could and would leave when I'm done. He proceeds to call the cops on us. To avoid any further scene we got up and left leaving half our drinks and food behind. Had I had the presence of mind, he would have been wearing my margarita on my way out the door. All he would have had to say when we walked in the door is "we close in 10 minutes". But to expect us to eat and drink a cocktail in 20 minutes is ludicrous. I wouldn't eat at this place again if it was free. read more

Real Arriero wasn't what we went to Caledonia for, but on discovering that the Cobblestone was now closed, found Real Arriero in the place that used to be "Big O's Fish House" and decided to try that. We had a GREAT meal there, and will be back again I'm sure!! read more

We love Mexican food so it was no surprise that my husband and I went to a Mexican restaurant for Valentines Day Diner. We had been here many times before when it was the old Mexican restaurant but I guess they had been bought out about a year and a half ago. Wish I would have known that. We normally order fajitas but decided to do something different...we should have had the normal. I had a chicken burrito and chicken enchilada combo and my husband had a beef burrito, tostada and salad combo. Both were only $7.50 each. For this price I would have thought the combos would have come with some rice or beans... Nope just two small plates of food. My plate nothing to differentiate between which was the burrito and the enchilada. The chicken was in a tomato based sauce that did not have any real kick to it. Along with my two rolls i had a large dollop of sour cream, some lettuce and a small slice of tomato. I say rolls because they reminded me of sushi rolls because that is about the size of them. My husbands plate was larger in portion. He said the tostada was soggy and just ate all the toppings off it. The salad was just lettuce and a larger slice of tomato than I got. His burrito was about the same size as mine maybe a little larger. He said the meat was very bland...he actually poured the salsa on the meat to give it some taste. The value was not good for what we got if it was not for the chips I would have still been hungry. I should have gone to Taco Bell for this kind of value. I guess if you are really wanting some Mexican food and do not want to drive down m37 this might be a good place to go. read more

The fajitas are absolutely delicious - for a twist, try the Fajitas Hawaiian - chicken, steak, bacon, and pineapple, along with the typical fajita fixin's. Portions are large and filling, and the salsa and chips are delicious!! Avoid the pork carnitas - the pork is very little meat and lots of gristle; despite the delicious flavor, i found them nearly inedible. The Mexican food at this restaurant is very good. And even though it's not the best I've ever had, the reason I gave this restaurant five stars is because of the servers. In Spanish they are called "meseros" ("meseras" if they are women). In Spain they are called camareros or camareras. Anyway, the meseros I've encountered at this restaurant are so good! I've been studying Spanish for some time and these guys always practice with me when I come in. They are a delight! And it's so much fun to enjoy the very good Mexican food here and to have such a good time practicing Spanish with these guys. ¡Me gusta! read more
