This was a small eat-in or carry out Mexican spot that gave off a vibe like the fresh Mexican joints you'd find out on the west coast. I ordered a carry out burrito dinner and it took less than 10 minutes to get done. While the portion was not very large (as you often see with carry out places), it was very fresh and the taste was excellent. The meal was about $15, which strikes me as a little expensive, but in this day and age, it's probably about the norm, so I won't rant about what prices used to be. Woman taking order was very nice. read more

Small Mexican place with delicious food. I haven't been too adventurous but the taco dinner, quesadilla dinner, & quesabirrias have all been great. I usually get it delivered, but the couple times I've been in there the staff has been busy yet friendly, and provide good service. read more

After some shopping in town, my girlfriend and I were looking for a quick bite to eat and decided to try this place for lunch. I ordered the Gordita, and she went for the burrito. Both dishes were reasonably priced, served fresh, and piping hot. I absolutely loved my Gordita--it was so good that I wished I'd ordered two or three instead of just one! I can imagine this restaurant gets really busy during beach season, and I can see why! read more

Our mexican landscaper highly recommend this restaurant. So, we have to go and try it! We ordered chips and salsa (ok, no free on the table - it's ok because the salsa is good, not too spicy and taste fresh), steak burrito (nothing special and tastes good) and whole fried tilapia (it was cooked perfectly... it has salad and slices oranges on the side. the best one). The restaurant is clean and service was good! We will go back for sure to try other dishes. I hope they have some mexican beer or margaritas! read more

Fantastic Asada tacos. Def the go to spot in South Haven. Just a block away from downtown but much better, less crowded and less expensive than the touristy spots. Wife loved her Al Pastor burrito and the chips n salsa were fantastic (freshly fried). Guac was only ok. read more

I went there today and ordered 3 steak tacos to go. Got home and was extremely disappointed to find out. That the tacos were made with tasteless hamburger meat. read more

We had pastor, quesabirria, carne asada, pollo asada. All were great, very authentic. Great corn tortillas! I live in Phoenix where taco shops are on every street corner and I'm confident El Paraiso would crush it there where there's steep competition. The service was quick. read more

Definitely more of a traditional Mexican restaurant than your typical small town fare. I ordered a Pambazo. I wasn't really sure what it was. I did enjoy it, but I think I'd have been just as happy with a Torta. My wife's dish was also really good, but I can't remember what it was. I'd not hesitate to try it again. It was good. read more

Good option in South Haven that was exactly what we needed. A kind of hidden gem that's not directly downtown, and the food was good. As a family, we got tacos, beans, tamales and chips and salsa. They were all good, with the tamale being a highlight for me. The hot sauces they give for the table were oddly flavorless and not hot, but still nice to try them out. I felt like the people working here were friendly, and the vibes are good even though it's more of a "substance over style" kind of restaurant. I loved South Haven, but didn't see too many restaurants I wanted to eat at, but this one really hit the spot after a beach day. I'd go here again without hesitation next time I'm in town. read more

After seeing many raving reviews on social media for this place in our city we tried it. It was quite possibly the worst Mexican food we've ever had. The portions were small, the prices were high and no chips or salsa unless you buy. I ordered the quesadilla meal (14.00) with one chicken & one shrimp. It was not a quesadilla it was 2 flour tortilla tacos. The shrimp was cut into chunks and was MAYBE 2 normal shrimp. The chicken was sparse also. They were both very bland with little lettuce or sour cream My husband had chicken fajitas (14.75). The chicken was orange, there were strips of red bell pepper, the same of green and very little onions. It was clean, there were no servers you ordered at the counter. DEFINATELY no return trip and we're still trying to figure out why people think it's so good. Taco bell is better flavored than this was and that says everything you need to know. read more

A hidden gem amongst many !! Come stop in and see the famous Corn In A Cup sign!!! Ive been supporting this small family owned shop for a little over a year and I have nothing but good to say. The tacos? Amazing and authentic. The torta? Filling and full of freshness. Guac and chips ? Fresh chips indisputably the best ive had in town. Nothing but honest good family cooking where the service never has dropped the ball. read more

Amazing food. Very modest building, with walk up and drive through service. We had a party of 4 and we each had a different dish. My wife had a beef enchilada, while I had their steak tacos. My SIL had their chicken tacos and my daughter the pork tacos. We each raved about what we had. Service was friendly and you can dine in. The most unpretentious places sometimes have the best and most authentic food. This is a great example of that rule. read more

Wanted to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint!! A small place with booths, clean and well maintained and organized. Walk in and take a menu and grab a booth and decide what you want and walk up to the counter and order your food and pay and they do the rest. Food delivered to your table with silverware and napkins, ask and they will bring you hot and mild green salsa in a squirt bottle. Ordered guacamole and freshly made flour chips, it was fresh and darn tasty and a generous portion at that! Hub ordered pork Tacos and I ordered beef Tacos, they came with beans and rice. We both opted the Tacos with onions and cilantro, all very good, hot, made to order, we were very pleased and will definitely come back. Our bill was the going rate these days for good food. They have picnic tables outside to dine and large parking lot. Employees were all very nice and polite. Try this place for real and traditional Mexican food. Debbie/Mi read more

Homemade guacamole and chips was amazing! We also enjoyed the tacos. Service was quick and a very good meal all around. Highly recommend!

Bets Mexican food in South Haven by far!! Authentic and fairly priced. I crave their Taco Dinner like every week‍

This is a bright spot in the community. Truly authentic Mexican food but different from the more Americanized Mexican restaurants. It is very bilingual friendly with both English and Spanish spoken . Take the quesadilla pictured here. It was more taco like than the flat quesadilla with cheese , meat and veggies between two tortillas. We opted for steak and it was flavorful and tender. The beans and rice were both delish!. I had the enchiladas -they were yummy. Lightly sauced and full of shredded chicken. The salad topping was more than just lettuce and tomato-it included carrot chucks. Try the tamales! Served piping hot with a shredded pork filling. They will bring bottles of salsa -red and green- The green is mild but the red was too hot for our tastes. Try it but use sparingly. read more

They were out of a lot of items I would have liked to try. We took the parents here and it was really really expensive for what we got. I ordered a pork tamale that was clearly microwaved because the filling was really hard and stuck to the wrapping. I also got a Gordita with chorizo. It had no seasoning and an odd taste in my mouth when I was done. The crema or cheese on it seemed old and runny? The green and red salsas in the fridge were pretty bland The pico de Gallo and chips were fine. The pico actually tasted ok. My husband got a burrito that was $12 and really tiny. The pork was extremely dry in there too. The dad got a chicken dish that was kind of like kids chicken tenders that was also really dry and seemed old. There wasn't much in the way of service and the mom liked her quesadilla but we spent over $70 and I was extremely disappointed. I do like that they have Cokes in the bottle. read more

Small little restaurant. Food was authentic and really good. Had the flautas. Service was great.

In town from Chicago and stopped here. Friendly staff and very delicious tacos and beans!

Probably one of the best Steak Tortas we've had. Good food and service, were able to cater to our toddler too.

I was looking up places to eat and seen that this place was open on Labor Day and had good reviews. When we pulled in a family member said, "Well, we are either going to get food poisoning or this is going to be the best food we've ever had."it doesn't look like much from the outside but the food was amazing!!! I ordered homemade chips with pico de gallo with a side of guacamole (we were all very hungry) and it was the best I've ever had. You Walk up counter to order, yes, it was very warm inside but we seated ourselves and the waitress will bring you your food. We ordered chicken quesadillas, which were very yummy! I got cocktail Cameron and my hubby, steak fajitas. The Cameron cocktail was very good, not as sweet and I liked that, my husband loved the marinated meat. Everyone was amazed on the quality and taste of the food. Next time I come I'm going back here. So good! read more
