Zivio was rocking on a Tuesday night. We arrived at 6 and it was nearly full. We were seated after about a 10 minute wait. Our drink orders weren't taken for another 10. The servers were moving fast trying to take care of all the tables!! The drink menu is good but I was disappointed in the draft craft beer selection. I opted for a canned beer. Our appetizer came out quickly which was the feta dip. It was amazing and served with some delicious breads and veggies! We split the chicken Schwarma which had excellent flavor. The chicken and rice were moist and tasty. It came with grilled vegetables and humus with a huge piece of pita. More than enough for us both. Taziki sauce added to the experience. Truly amazing spot, I see why this place is so well reviewed. It had been on my list for a while, so was excited to check it out. The halloumi fries were insanely good, as was the gyro and the pita. The perfect mix of modern and mediterranean! Zivio is located in East Grand Rapids with a beautifully modern interior and plenty of seating inside and outside. Their menu offers a variety of mediterranean dishes with vegetarian and vegan options to accommodate most preferences. Our group started with a round of drinks. The Midnight in Michigan was my favorite and very well balanced. Each cocktail had a beautiful presentation and unique flavor. For food, we started with the Za'Atar Honey Brussels which was a great size to share. I loved the crunch to the brussels paired with the sweeter sauce. For entrees, most got The OG Gyro with their house made Lepinja Bread. I ordered mine with Falafel and it delicious! The ingredients tasted fresh and everything was the perfect portion. The Beef & Lamb was equally a delicious protein option. The service was a bit slow at times and food is made fresh so don't visit when in a rush. Met some friends for dinner at Zivio on a Friday. We got there a little early- like 5:30, and didn't have to wait for a table, although it started to fill up closer to 6. Has to be our favorite restaurant on Wealthy. Two go-to favorites are the O.G. and the Fiery Feta are our go-to with beef and lamb. So much flavor all stuffed into their in-house lepinja bread. Appetizer has to be the whipped feta which comes with bread, toasted bread, and veggies. Great starter that's a bit different than tzatziki sauce on fries. Hummus is solid too. Pretty sure it's the same people that run Bosna Express... which is a good thing because that place bangs too! read more

Okay, so this place is absolutely adorable with big open windows in the front. I've been here a couple of times and have ordered take out and every single time it doesn't disappoint. The gyros are fantastic and they even have impossible meat so it works for vegetarians. The garlic gyro is my favorite, it comes with toms of veggies and a garlic yogurt sauce. I've also had the fiery feta and it is absolutely delicious. These sandwiches are heavily sauced so make sure you have napkins. The French fries at Zivio deserve a five star review on their own. They are absolutely crispy and well seasoned. There is a significant cocktail list and great coffee if you want to just pop in for a quick happy hour. They have a good dessert menu too, the lepinja puffs (little donuts) are my go to! read more

We uncovered one of the best gems of Grand Rapids! Wahoo! Guys, who even thinks about ordering beef stroganoff when it's on the menu... exactly. But the homemade egg noodles and slow braised beef were calling my name... and guess what. It's still calling my name! Zivio is a staple, go-to restaurant option for us. We've had good luck with short wait times or no wait times; I think only one time on a weekend was it 1+ hour wait time. The whipped feta appetizer is such a great mix of warm feta dip, warm fresh bread, and veggies to make it healthier :) I've tasted the gyros and they're a 4 out of 5. I ALWAYS order the flank steak. The presentation of it always seems to vary, but the steak is almost always cooked a perfect medium rare (although a few times it has been overcooked); the seasoning makes up for it when it is overcooked. Sometimes the brussels sprouts are undercooked too, but when they're cooked perfectly they're an amazing side dish. It's a large entree too. It's usually cold inside, even in the summer. Živio has consistently been out of their traditional Bosnian Pilsner, the Tuzlanski Pilsner, which is disappointing for a place that claims to be a Bosnian restaurant. Today, instead, they poured me the remainder of a Weihenstephaner keg--and I had to specifically ask not to be charged full price for what was essentially a half pour. What bothered me most, though, was the service. At 8:05 PM--nearly a full hour before their 9:00 PM closing time--the host's first words to me were, "Do you have the time?" Not a greeting. She then informed us that the kitchen was closing in 25 minutes. Later, as we were finishing our meals, we overheard our waitress tell another table that the kitchen was closing in 15-20 minutes at around 8:30. On the positive side, the food is delicious and they offer solid vegetarian options, though prices are high. My fatoush salad with vegetarian meat was nearly $20. read more

Amazing how this section of Wealthy Street has been transformed over the years. On the block comes one of our favorite joints in GR, a place called Živio. We found this place accidentally while in search of the elusive dog friendly patio. GR is seriously lacking dog friendly patios and in particular ones that actually have great food. Well look no further cause Živio is it. After 3 visits it's high time to leave them a glowing review. Between the service, the atmosphere, and the food, we will frequent Živio anytime we come to GR. The sexy fries, red pepper shrimp and whipped feta dip are on the list of go to items. Since they had Oktoberfest specials, I tried one of them as well. The Schnitzel sandwich was good bursting with as much flavor as one could ask for. Chicken was cooked to perfection too. All the cocktails are great, but they really make a mean Old Fashioned. Also, not to sleep on a respectable beer list. Overall, this is one GR gem we hope sticks around for some time. I know we'll be back since the goods are so good at Živio! read more

The food was really good, service was very quick and attentive. The only issue was that we had ordered a dessert of pastry, Nutella, strawberries and cream, and they only told us after it was brought to the table that they were out of strawberries. They were also out of baklava, which our friend had asked for, reducing the three-item dessert menu to 1 1/2. Neither were we offered a discount on our bill for a crucial part of our dessert being missing. The caveat is that it was a busy Saturday evening. The kebab was delicious. I would visit again, however I would be more forward in asking for accommodation if my food is missing components or has other issues. read more

Located in the middle of a nice neighborhood this place reminds me of something you would see in San Francisco. With a great outdoor patio area this place is a must if you find yourself in Grand Rapids. I ordered the chicken and it was amazing! So flavorful and fresh that it was tough not to order another plate! But I was full. We got there a little early in the evening so it was not busy. I was told that this was a Mediterranean restaurant, but based on their website, Zivio says that their cuisine is Bosnian, with a cultural clash of Turkish, Greek, and many other Central European countries. Super cool! I got the O.G. Gyro, which was around $15. The gyros comes with a generous amount of fries, which were really good. The fries were pretty big in size, slightly crispy on the outside, but soft inside. The O.G. Gyro was extremely delicious - the meat was flavorful, and I thought the amount of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and their signature tzatziki sauce they put in the gyro complimented the savory meat really well. They make their lepinja bread in-house, which was good as well. I would recommend getting the O.G. Gyro! The vibe of the restaurant was really cool. It had a pretty modern feel to it. There was a bar in the middle of the restaurants, with tables to sit around it. The service was very quick, and our waiter was super nice! I do wish they would hand out physical copies of menus, but it was fine to scan the QR code to get access to the online menu. Their online menu was really helpful - really detailed, and gave you a nice photo of each dish. There is street parking! read more

Finally made it back to Zivio recently to have lunch with a friend. It was a sunny summer day, so we sat outside on their "patio" - outdoor seating on the sidewalk/street. We ordered some things to share: the fattoush salad, vegetarian plate, za'atar honey Brussels sprouts, and a side of fries. The fattoush salad was very good and a huge portion. I appreciated the generous amount of goat cheese! Everything seemed really fresh. The vegetarian plate was decent - I really liked the grilled zucchini. The falafel were really small and hard, not the best but I'm not a huge falafel eater. The fries were crispy and hot. I also really liked the Brussels sprouts - they were crisp tender and the seasonings were tasty and unique. Service was great, with waters refilled several times and people checking in with us throughout. It was super sunny the whole time, so bring some sunscreen. I liked the fattoush salad the best, and it's a lighter option amongst the heavier entrees and huge gyros, which is what I've ordered in the past. I often forget about this spot, but I'm looking forward to coming back and ordering the salad again. read more

Really good food. They have gluten free pita bread so I could have gyro. We didn't even wait long in a Saturday night around 6pm. Walked in and got a table. It was a mixed crowd of young and old and the noise level was perfect. Plenty of space around the tables. The Chicken was very good. The whipped feta was soooo creamy. They bring out a lot of veggies and pitta bread and French bread... and not enough of the whipped feta. Should be a bigger bowl. My friend loved her fried shrooms stuffed with feta..: I will just believe her in that one! We all got a sandwhich of some sort that I forgot to take pictures of because we were so hungry. One of the best places for lunch or dinner! Me and my husband has a date in this place. We ordered feta fried mashroom and chicken shawarma! Both were so good and delicious. The feta mashroom was crunchy and came with yogurt sauce which was an awesome addition. The shawarma comes with nan bread , Rice, zucchini and sauce along with chicken. I replaced the zucchini with fries. The chicken is made of boneless skinless thighs. Very juicy, tender and full of good flavors! It is a winner dish. Prices were good compared to the quality.
