Third time was *definitely* not the charm. My husband and I chose this place to celebrate our 10-year anniversary and even called ahead specifically requesting a booth. We arrived early on a Friday night, fully expecting a wait and were patient... yet still ended up standing around awkwardly. Once seated, (not in a booth) it took another 15 minutes just to get water. The service issues alone were frustrating, but the real disappointment was the food. My absolute favorite dish here (the whipped ricotta) was unrecognizable compared to previous visits, both in presentation and taste. It was honestly shocking given how much I've loved it in the past. The live band was fantastic, which only made it clearer that the problem isn't the concept, it's execution. This place simply cannot handle a busy Friday night. Stopped in for a meal as it starts getting chillier this fall. We were drawn in by the live music and cozy ambiance. We were seated right away but it did take a while for us to get greeted by our server. Menu has all you could want from an Italian spot, pizzas, yummy appetizers, pastas - options for everyone. We had the Caesar salad to share which was a delicious start to the meal. We then got a chance to order our pastas. All good options! We did see a pizza come out of the kitchen that also looked wonderful. Only negative about this spot was the wait after being seated. We were there for around 2.5 hours for a meal of 3 people. It seemed like they could have benefited from some more help on their staff. Both pastas and general service did take quite a bit of time. The beginning of our visit here was a bit rough - only because we got waters and menus, and proceeded to be unattended to for 15+ minutes. We had to ask someone to get our waitress, because it was like they had gone MIA. After our server came back, they were very attentive, especially for it being a slower night. The food came out fairly quickly after we placed our orders, and the shrimp scampi that I got was absolutely delicious. I got it extra spicy, and if you like spice and seafood, you would DIG that. The spice was no joke, but it was flavorful and very good. Throughout the first half of dinner, there was a live musician playing the accordion and he was very talented. It was our second time at TR. Our first experience was very good. This time the services was horrible. Our waitress was very slow and unattentive at times. We had to ask her to clear the dishes from the appetizer we ordered. We ordered a second round of drinks and waited for 15-20 minutes before they arrived and I was told the wine I ordered was unavailable. We had two orders of lasagne (too heavy on the sauce) that were at best marginal. I ordered The Big Ragu and it was average. Overall I would not recommend TR to my friends. Testa Rossa joined my list of favorite local, non-chain pizza spots (the pie tonight was right up there with Big O's and Harmony Brewing). Order was ready on time and service was friendly. The chicken was so dry and the pesto has less flavor than Kirkland's. For the meatball pizza, the bottom was burnt and soggy. (How?!) The only saving grace was the servers giving us ranch to chance the food down. We only got beers on tap, but the bartenders cocktails looked nice. A beautiful late spring walk down a wealthy street led us to Testa Rosa. We were welcomed by a guitar and viola duet playing soft Italian music, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me want to dance. Unfortunately, no one came to serve us. After waiting for 10 minutes, I asked for a menu, and the server seemed miffed by my request. After another 10 minutes, we received water and were finally able to place our orders. Our food arrived 15 minutes later. I ordered the Clam Apizza. While I appreciated the spicy kick, I found it dry and lacking in ingredients, particularly clams. It was overcooked. My wife opted for the manicotti but was disappointed. The sauce had its unique flavor, but it was underwhelming overall. While some may enjoy the flavors at Testa Rosa, it wasn't to our taste. Not gonna lie. This place might be the closest thing to real since my girlfriend slapped me like Jwoww. You can see the chefs making the food. All fresh ingredients. I was SO excited when I heard a new Italian place was opening up, especially one with a scratch-made kitchen. Owned by the same people as Electric Cheetah, I knew I was in for some decent food. The restaurant had the cozy vibes of a classic family-owned Italian restaurant you might find in your hometown, but with a few modern accents. We were started with bread and dipping oil, which was perfect to nibble on while we perused the menu. We decided to start with an appetizer, and got the tomato and burrata. Everything tasted so fresh, it was definitely the perfect way to start the meal. After much contemplation (because I love all pastas equally) I ordered the manicotti. I lovedddd the pesto on top. My only complaint is I could've eaten three more plates of it. (Not because the serving size was small- just because of who I am as a person ) My fiancé ordered the New Jersey pizza, and added jalapeños because he's a spicy boi. The crust was crispy but decently thick, in the Sicilian style. I'm not sure if it was the cheese or the sauce, but it tasted like there was a creamy layer under the tomato sauce, which I thought was absolutely heavenly. We of course finished the night with cannolis, because I have never seen a cannoli on a menu and not ordered it. My fiancé had one bite of each, and let me eat the rest, because he is a good man. Currently in their soft opening phase, Testa Rossa just opened in the former Brick Road location. It's part of the Electric Cheetah/Uncle Cheetah Soup Shop group, but the menu is quite a bit different with a focus on pizza, salads, and hoagies. Nate and I stopped in on their first official soft open night and had a good experience. Walking in, there's no obvious designated host stand, so we just kind of waited in the doorway. We were seated quickly but maybe they will set up a host stand just so there's no confusion. The space is comfortable and cozy, not super upscale so come as you are. We ordered some drinks - just beer and wine, but they have a full bar. For food we chose the burrata, a small Caesar salad, and the Testa Rossa pizza. They start with complimentary bread, which was very soft and fresh. I'm now seeing on the menu that they have "bread & oil" listed as an appetizer for $10 so I'm not sure if the bread is always complimentary. Maybe it was just a soft opening thing? Either way, we liked it and ate it all! I loved the Caesar salad as the romaine was crispy and fresh, and the lemon zest gives it a nice kick. The burrata was delicious and I really liked the slightly roasted tomatoes. The crostini were super toasted and too crunchy for me, but I was fine eating the burrata and tomatoes on their own. The pizza came out shortly after and was super hot and SO cheesy. The crust in the middle was a bit soggy and floppy so I chose to knife and fork it. I think the sheer amount of cheese was overwhelming the crust, not that I was mad about it. The cheese was delicious and it had a gremolata/herb mixture sprinkled on that gave it some nice brightness. We were way too full for dessert but they have tiramisu, cannoli, and some other options. Service was great although the restaurant was pretty empty when we went (early on a weeknight). They do have some vegan options for pizza as well as gluten free crust available. read more

Ordered GF kids french bread pizzas for dinner along with our order on Sat night July 12, 2025. Guess what?!?! The kids were served regular bread WITH gluten and now WE have to deal with the after effects of kids consuming gluten. SOOOOOOO dissapointed and upset. When my husband asked the server (female, E.) she just said, "Sorry," but didn't really seem to mean it. I mean, if you cannot pay attention to something as simple as a gluten swap out, what more something more life threatening? So so so so dissapointed. And totally not returning here. For goodness sake we even ordered a different Salad coz one of the kids cannot not do dairy. Make sure you triple and quadruple check your order after you receive it at this establishment. I walked back to the bar (nobody was there) but I'll definitely try it next time. Very nice. The service was great. Drinks served and not rushed to order. Very cute place with a lovely hostess. I ordered first in my group and didn't get my food till my friends were done eating and when it did come it was not the spaghetti squash noodles I ordered. (Three of us ordered the exact same thing) Then when it did come it was half the amount of food that my other friends got in an identical order and had been overcooked. The times I've made chicken piccata at home it's been so amazingly delicious and this was not the lemony buttery wine sauce extraordinaire that I was expecting. It was watery and bland. Cute place it's nice that they offer spaghetti squash and gf crust for pizza which was a nice surprise as I didn't see it on the menu online, but the overall experience was disappointing. I've been looking forward to trying Testa Rossa since I saw the construction happening months before! We walked in and were greeted promptly. The vibe is mixed - one side is very relaxed and super cozy, like small town Italian restaurant. However, on the other side, it had a stage for live music and what felt like a speakEZ in back! That side was closed when we walked in but I'd be curious to see the noise level of the restaurant when both sides are busy. It was a super hot day and one of the things I remember is that the water was ICE COLD. Like, I was beyond surprised by this as most of the time, it's cold but not to the point of making my teeth cold! That was only the first glass, maybe it's from the heat outside, but it was very refreshing. Of course, I wanted to try everything on the menu but given there was only two of us, we opted for the special (Chicken Piccata) and a pizza. The bread and oil were complimentary (I was surprised at this given it's on the appetizer menu). The bread was a little toastier than I would have liked but I did enjoy this. While the chicken piccata was good, I'd probably say I liked the pizza a lot better. The dough was crispy and doughy at the same time while remaining fairly thin. Definitely the winner for me that night! I look forward to coming again to try more. We went for an early dinner about 15 mins after they opened on a Friday evening. We were able to sit down immediately and had the dining side all to ourselves. They have two sides; one side looks a little more classic Italian in decor and the other is a bit more modern with a stage with live music (check schedule). Our waiter was great and accommodated us and our 9 month old with no issue! We got the meatballs as an appetizer and they were delicious! They were not a firm meatball however still dense and so flavorful! Our 9 month old was able to eat it with ease and kept coming back for more! The ricotta dollop was a great addition with parmesan grated on top! We also had the spinach and mushroom pizza which was so very good! So much flavor and a great balance of toppings! The spicy shrimp spaghetti was the only dish that we didn't totally love. The sauce did have nice flavor however the shrimp skewers lacked flavor and were quite dry. First off let me preface this review with each time we've eaten here the food has always been very good. This is solely about the service I experienced most recently. I called ahead to order some bottles of their homemade limoncello for the holiday. I spoke directly to person who makes it and we set up a time to meet at the restaurant for me to pick up my order. Fast forward to pick up date/time....not only was she not there, but neither was the limoncello I'd ordered. No one was informed of my order and had no clue where to find it-they even went to restaurant next door to see if she put my order in their refrigerator. We waited to leave for the holiday so I could pick up the bottles. So now here we are leaving hours later than we would've liked and no limoncello! It was what our family requested us to bring since they enjoyed it so much when they had it while visiting this summer. So yeah, I'm showing up empty handed to Thanksgiving dinner this year!
