Easy to find, right outside Abbesses metro stop. Was hard to choose between bakery take out or sit down bistro... we went with their bistro service, and were rewarded with the lightest, fluffiest, tastiest quiche in existence! Coffee was very good too! Can't wait to go back and take away some of their baked goods. read more

Very dirty restaurant in Paris. Very disgusting way of handling foods. The employee and casher just use their hands and fingers to touch the cash, foods, and anything there. Very insanitary conditions. Feces, shits, urines, smells, etc., might be on foods. We ordered some foods and bakery. We were shocked and stunned by seeing that they were using the very dirty hands and fingers to touch all of the cashes, foods, and anything inside or outside the restaurant. Tongs were placed on a dirty shelf with other things. They did not use clean and sanitary tongs at all. They brainlessly said what was the matter. They just want to make money. They completely ignore the 101 of the sanitary ways and conditions in a restaurant in anywhere in the world. read more

Ate here many times, staff was friendly and excusing of our terrible French. The coffee was excellent, and on our last day we purchased a big bag of treats to take on the plane. If you are in Montmartre, you definitely need to check it out! read more

I had 35 minutes and thought that would be ample time to have a good breakfast. The coffee and juice arrived in good time though the juice was way too sweet to have been 100% freshly pressed, it tasted like a blend of carton juice and fresh. 25 minutes later my breakfast of eggs, bacon, mini-sausage, mushrooms and salad arrived ... stone cold, leaving me with 7.5 minutes to eat and 2.5 minutes to pay. The cashier and waitress were both very nice, too bad about the efficiency. The shop seemed gimmicky with all its souvenirs and kitsch decorations. In future I think I'll stick with the French brasserie across the street; their terrasse is more sunny in the morning anyway. read more

We rented an apartment near Coquelicot so frequented the patisserie a few times. It's a cute shop, very quaint. The pastries are good, not exceptional. Having visited various Parisian patisseries over the years I would consider them average. If you go to Coquelicot I would recommend ordering pastries to go, not sit down. The one time that we (two adults and two kids) sat down and ordered meals the staff were very rude. It ruined our meal to be perfectly honest. We were flabbergasted. We were polite as were our kids (and I spoke French), yet the staff was super unfriendly and kind of nasty. A couple of tables over the patrons had a tiff with the staff. They were being completely ignored (and they were French). The rudeness was beyond compare, even in Paris. We will not return to this shop. read more

I was really looking forward to this place during my trip to Paris. Heard amazing reviews for it from friends and decided to get it when I got the chance. The first day I came in at 1 pm they were out of the item that I came for, which was the almond croissants, so I got another one just to try. While it was very tasty, I found it to be a bit on the soggy side. I figured it was late in the afternoon anyways so they might not have fresh ones out, which was fine and understandable. However, I came back the next day at around 9 am in hopes of getting the almond croissants and found that it was still soggy despite coming in an hour after opening. It was fairly disappointing as this place was highly recommended by my peers for the croissants. I was told they were supposed to be crunchy yet will melt in your mouth, which didn't happen. Overall, the actual taste of the croissants were good but the sogginess of it was quite off putting. Service was not great but not terrible either. I probably wouldn't come back again, especially since there are so many amazing patisseries around Paris! read more

this was my favorite boulangerie in Paris; it was quite close to my hotel (L'Hôtel des Arts), so i dropped in at least once a day. i usually had a [giant] cup of tea and some sort of bread or pastry (my French/my servers' English was good enough to work out what i could eat as a vegan) and i always enjoyed the fresh jams they served (i bought some to take home with me, too; so delicious!). the people who worked there were extremely friendly, patient, and helpful, and i loved just sitting in the restaurant, watching the people come and go; it's a really great atmosphere. i will definitely be returning! read more

The service was friendly--Bonjour Christine! The staff speaks some English if your French doesn't do the job. The coffee (in bowls, the rustic French way) and bread are good. Be aware that French coffee served this way is not strong espresso, certainly not watery, but it's not going to fire your jets. It was our go-to breakfast spot from our Montmartre apartment and after two visits it felt like home. read more

I went to this place because it was very close to the hotel I was staying at. People are very friendly but they messed up my order way too many times. I had ordered an omelette with no ham because I'm a vegetarian and do not eat that. I told her about 3 times that I didn't want the ham in it. When she comes back with my order as I'm about to take a bite, the omelette has ham. I order one without the ham & get charged twice. Their baguette du tradition is amazing! I got there on a Saturday afternoon and there was already a line out the door. The baguette was perfect and still warm...I had already eaten half of it by the time I walked back to my apartment. On the other hand, I think their pastries are only average. I tried the almond-pistachio pain au chocolat, regular croissant, and a raisin escargot; all were good but not great. read more

Fantastic little boulangerie/cafe. Cozy tables outside, ground floor, and more upstairs. The bread, pastries,and coffee/tea are fantastic, but that isn't such an amazing thing in Paris. What makes this place different than most is that the prices are very reasonable, and they have other great food options. Try the yogurt with a side of fruit confit, or eggs with country ham. read more

This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy breakfast, coffee and pastry or have a quick lunch or afternoon snack. Indoor as well as outdoor seating is great and it feels "just right" to be there and indulge in the Parisian Coffeehouse atmosphere. The coffee (incl. Cafe au lait) prices are a real bargain as compared to most of the Parisian Cafes and you get also the food is good value for the price (quality and amount). Highly recommendable. read more

I don't get what all the fuss is about. The prices for table service were on the high side (9 euros for two coffees and a chocolate croissant), the pastry was okay but pretty much what you'd get anywhere else, the service was slow. Maybe I'm missing something. But I must say the pricey breakfasts at a neighboring table looked awfully good. read more
