I was so grateful for the professionalism of the employees and doctors at Aquity. My father has dementiaCOPD, and cancer plus he cannot hear really well. They were very patient and spoke slowly to him. They were able to speak on his level in medical terms about the degenerative eye disease he has (considering he is 83 and his cancer or COPD will get to him prior to losing his site.). Absolutely the worst customer service. I broke 2 week old frames, called multiple times and got not returned calls. Finally actually spoke to someone that says they don't carry this brand anymore??? 3 weeks after I bought them??? She said she would ask her manager if they could be ordered, 2 weeks and 3 phone calls later, no response. I stopped by the office and was told she still hasn't gotten a response to her email sent 2 weeks ago. Then she shrugged her shoulders and said 'I don't know what to say or what I can do'. Not sure where to start so I'm going to keep it simple....STAY AWAY from this place..their AC doesn't even work. Felt like they were running a cattle call..awful check in process...the lady at the front was atrocious and lacked any customer service skills. It's a massive barn looking place that was FULL of people and everyone was waiting for a VERY long time. I left after waiting over an hour...awful awful awful is the only way I can describe my experience. I wouldn't go here if it was the last eye doctor on the planet. That bad! Beware! Went into this office to make an appointment. Got the needed patient forms, so would be ready when I return in a few weeks for my appointment. My appointment was at 9 o'clock arrived at 8:45. At 9:17 after many people who had arrived after me were taken in I asked how long it would be. I did have another appointment scheduled 2 1/2 hours later. I told it would be another 15 minutes. Since this was a early morning appointment I'm not sure how it was already so far behind. I took it as a first impression of the service I would be receiving. I got my co-pay, returned, and did not reschedule at this establishment. read more

I felt like a machine being led from one room to another, very quickly. I have been to other ophthalmology groups and have been treated with a lot more of a personal feeling and respect, rather than just an object being pushed through so they can get to the next patient . Suddenly I'm in a room and told here's the doctor who immediately started to give me a refraction. Very little communication (he was very young, so Probably not used to dealing with people). Be careful with this location. I checked and double checked before I booked an appointment on 11/28/2022. There was no mention of a virtual visit. Not until I went to the exam room, I was told that the doctor would be talking with me via zoom. The worst part is the insurance. I have VSP as my insurance, which covers an annual exam with 10 dollars co-pay. I verified the coverage before I went in and paid 10 dollars. However, since then, I have been in the insurance nightmare. Acuity Eye Group charges VSP $383 for the visit, and VSP is not paying for it. I called Acuity billing dept, and they can't even find my record. The whole thing is mess. As of now, the issue is still not resolved. read more

You get a bunch of reminder messages and calls but the lazy front desk worker doesn't have the ability to check to make sure you're good for the appointment. I was seen at your La Quinta location. First time as a patient. I arrived and was greeted with a great attitude and smiling eyes behind masked staff. I heard several hellos and a Good Morning! The young lady that took all my personal info and medical history was Awesome. She made me feel comfortable by just allowing me to answer all her questions without rushing into the next question. She was friendly, kind and professional. I had the pleasure of being seen my Dr. Murphy. His attention to every concern was amazing. He answered all my questions and made me feel I was his only patient for the day. I definitely received 5 star treatment. While waiting in the lobby, Dr. Murphy arrived and walked through the lobby. I witnessed several patients speak highly of him and seemed eager to see Dr Murphy Your La Quinta location is absolutely Amazing, Thank You for your 5 star service. read more

Went to the clinic today for an appointment I made in early March. When I made the appointment it was in person because I wanted to be sure that the Medicare and supplemental would cover the cost. I presented both my Medicare card and my Humana card (the clinic is listed as accepting the coverage). I was informed at that time that...yes they would bill my insurance providers. Arrived this morning having completed all their voluminous paperwork only to be informed that they couldn't bill my insurers. Total waste of MY time and the time of my designated driver (the appointment was for a dilation exam). I am pretty sure that the doctors here are professionals but the office staff and logistics of this group are terrible. I could have been informed of the inability to bill Medicare or Humana at my initial contact and I could have made other arrangements to get this exam done while here visiting California. A COMPLETE waste of time read more

I went in today to have my son get his eye exam. And I should have got her name but it didn't cross my mind. But one of the ladies there was so good with my son I was blown away. Even joking with her saying damn you are so good. My son struggled in saying some of the letters because he struggles with his alphabet and she wrote on a paper the letter and had him just identify in which way was the letters pointed. Super patient with him and so nice. My son later said in the car he liked his visit and that made my day. Thank you acuity for taking care of my son today. read more

As always all the medical staff were great. When Dr Murphy got to me I explained to him that previous Dr saw me as a # and I didn't appreciate that. He just told me you have Diabetes and Cataracts but never once he explained anything on why or how. Dr Murphy took his time and explained everything I needed to know and then some. Very professional and organized team. They treat you with personalized attention and do a through eye exam. It helps if you're proactive with your questions and concerns. They are high tech and proficent. So what if I waited 20 minutes before they called my name. I would rather get the best care than complain about the short wait. I have had cataracts replaced with new lenses which allow me to see without glasses now. I had a tear in my retina that was repaired by laser in office in under one hour. I trust them. read more

The providers are incredibly helpful they answered every question i had. If I could give this excuse for a medical office less than one star I would! If you like being part of a packed cattle car and then being singled out for a trip down the row of exam rooms only to bounce from one to another by a nurse this is for you. I arrived at my appointment 20 minutes early to complete my medical forms like a good patient does, but it wasn't until 45 minutes later that a semi-comatose nurse called my name. After the usual eye tests and three rooms later I was directed to another sitting area in the back. Here I waited again, but not to worry, some of the nurses took their lunch break in an empty office nearby and it was nice to hear them telling stories and laughing while I sat there not knowing when I would see an actual eye doctor. 30 minutes later and lunch time over I watched as the nurses emptied out of the office and got ready for a their afternoon, not one acknowledging me or curious why I was still there. I had now been in their building for two hours without seeing a doctor and it was time to leave. I let the front desk know and I left. This company is not in business to help people with their eyesight, it's in business to take advantage of the benefits they receive from insurance companies. I will never go back there, but I do have an appointment at LensCrafters tomorrow! read more

I followed Dr Murphy because he was so very good. Acuity saw that and that impresses me.

The positive: The offices were clean. The assistants were nice. They saw me the same day as I called in to make an appointment. The less than positive: The doctor who treated me for a retinal tear used a laser procedure to attempt to correct it without giving me any explanation as to what I would be experiencing during the procedure nor the results I could expect. The procedure itself was very uncomfortable and negatively surprising in its lack of precision. I was not provided with any information about what to expect as the anesthetic wore off or what, if any, analgesics would be safe to use or anything else about how I should care for my eye following the procedure. I had no idea if what I experienced over the next few days was normal or not. On my follow up appointment, same deal. No explanation of anything, just go in, pay, leave. Overall: I would not return to this office. I would stick with a retinal specialist in private practice (such as I switched to after the 2nd frustrating visit to Accuity) rather than this or other chain offices. read more

Frustrating, uncaring and awful doesn't quite do it justice. First, my January 15th, 2021 appointment was for 7:30am and I wasn't alone. 4 of us were waiting outside the clinic but no staff showed up until after 8am. They seemed to think it was humorous that someone in the office "screwed up again" by booking early appointments for that day. No apology. Then I saw Dr. Samuel. What a joke. He must have a doctorate in being arrogant and uninterested. I walked out knowing nothing more about what caused the sudden onset irritation and infection that sent me to the ER than what ER doctor told me...the ER Dr. who, by-the-way, said, "go see a specialist and find out what caused this". Then they got confused about my insurance and asked me to pay for the visit myself and promised someone would call me back. So I did my part and paid the $170.00 bill for a 15 minute visit. But no one called. Ever. I have called four times and spoken to people who could not help, but promised a person who could help would call back, but no call. I have left messages with the billing department at least twice but no response. If you are looking for professionals who care about your eyes, money, and time, look somewhere else. read more
