I called today at 1pm and was looking for an appointment and was scheduled at 2:30. Can you believe it! The office is very conveniently located inside Walmart. It provides for complete optometric care. I need to have my glasses prescription. Dr Daniel Eng and the team were very pleasant and explained my needs for glasses under different situations. The first time I was seen here, I would have rated 5 stars, as I thought I had found my new eye doctor. However, after recently being seen in the office, I found the young girl seated at the computer very rude. She should not be dealing with the public. Also, I did not see any sanitary wipes in the exam rooms, and the eye doctor was sick, sneezing in front of me with no mask. As I waited in the waiting room, I heard him blowing his nose. It's understandable for someone to be sneezing, but when seeing patients, you should take some precautions. Wear a mask if you are sneezing, and wipe down the equipment in front of the patient. But, I will need to find a new eye doctor because of the demeanor of the young girl I encountered at the front desk. She should speak to people in a kinder tone. read more

I thought my eye was going blind, so I was in a hurry to see someone! I was hesitant to visit a Walmart Optical, but they could take an appointment the day of at an hours notice, so I sped there. Wow. Dr. Eng is a superb doctor!!!!! I was impressed by his knowledge, his patience, his thorough explanation, and how he took his time in reassuring me that I was overreacting and my eye was just severely dry. Doctors NEVER act as such and I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone and everyone! The office was clean, organized, the staff were friendly, and the technology of the machinery was up to par. It is busy and people that complain need to understand the world doesn't revolve around them and there is literally one person at the front trying to handle the appointment procedures on top of that it is a small office so be patient or call somewhere else ! Tried to make a new appointment as a new patient. I was asked if I had insurance. I asked receptionist if I could make appointment she told me until I have insurance info she would not make me an appointment. I asked what if a pay out of pocket she then said that is different. Disappointed that she didn't let me make appointment until I had all my insurance info. Will never go there. read more

Well, I just went to my new optometrist because I was having severe eyesight issues. He then compared my old glasses with my new prescription and said the prescription was wrong since September 12, 2016!!!! After spending hundreds of dollars for glasses and exam I was very upset! I'm stuck with $400 glasses for a whole year! Not sure if I could do anything about it but will never go there again!!! read more

This guy really knows his craft, a true professional. This review is long overdue. I had some extra time so decided to get an I exam prior to doing some shopping. Dr. Eng was both clean cut and very sharp in his explanation and step by step completion of the process, with the added benefit of the price being right. The eye doctor himself is very professional, firm, and educates his patients on the ins and outs of their medical conditions and prescriptions. The staff members themselves are another story. They do work hard at their jobs but there is no doubt that they could be more well-trained on being polite and professional towards their patients. One of them is a receptionist who has demonstrated incredibly rude behavior. I used to recommend my friends and family to this eye doctor, but after what I encountered on the front desk, I will not recommend this office anymore, which is a shame because Dr. Eng himself is an incredible eye doctor. read more

If I could rate this office with less than one star, I would. I came to get a new contacts lens prescription at this office, and about 6 months later moved out of state. I lost my physical prescription during the move, and called the office to obtain a new copy to get my prescription refilled. The most unbelievable thing, they could not locate me in their system. They stated that I must have been seen at a different location, despite me going to this location (I mean it's inside of the one Walmart in Palm Desert of Dinah Shores, it's not that hard remember) multiple times. I am now going to have to pay for another appointment at a different office, despite already doing so at this location. Don't waste your time and money here, when you actually need to have your information pulled later on, you'll be out of luck. read more

Dr. Eng accepts walk-in patients and vision insurance. The staff promptly verified the insurance and Dr. Eng examined my son shortly after another patient. Then he asked if we had any questions. Overall it was such an easy process unlike Acuity of Palm Desert where it took a month wait for the appointment and then as I didn't have my husband's full social security number, the vision insurance couldn't be verified when we came for the appointment and of course I gave this info when making the appointment. So for minimal wait and ease of insurance (Dr. Eng' s office verified the insurance without the full social security #) - this is the place to come to. read more

I recently was a walk-in at this eye clinic inside Wal-Mart. I have terrible eyes and was overdue for an eye exam. I called before I came to ensure that they took my insurance and they accepted walk-ins as I wasn't sure what time I would be able to arrive. The woman on the phone was so friendly and sweet and answered all my questions and assured me I could walk in. I went in and liked that once you get into the office you complete forget you are in Wal-Mart. It is a very small office but very clean. I was greeted very sweetly by the front office staff. She got me started on the paperwork immediately and had my insurance verified within ten minutes of arriving. I didn't wait long at all to see the doctor. The eye doctor was very friendly and warm. I have very bad eye sight and he took the time to thoroughly look over my eyes and was very informative. I felt completely at ease. I've been wearing glasses/contacts for 25 years and this was probably the best experience I've had at an eye doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Eng and his staff! read more
