The doctor was dismissive, argued and I am fairly positive he did not read the notes from my doctors had taken lots of time to faxed to explain what the concerns were. The assistant also strongly suggested an additional service not cover by insurance. She said it was the best way to get an accurate diagnosis. I have had many surgeries and eye appointments this year. Never been charged extra for a service. But since I needed the best service, I paid for it. The reason for my visit was to check eye pressure due to steriod drops and to check a Macular Pucker. Left the exam with him dismissing the steriods, telling me that I could possibly have glaucoma (which I do not. Temporary due to the steriods in 1 eye), and he wouldn't comment or review the macular pucker with me. The whole experience was a waste of my doctors and my time plus the expense. I went to Dr. Le after having problems with my night vision. I went to a very clean office and was greeted by his staff. At my appointment time, I was taken back for an initial screening. The woman who helped me was friendly and very helpful with my questions. Dr. Le was friendly and explained that I had cataracts and how he could correct my vision issues. He reiterated the whole process and I elected for a lens that would allow me to read my phone without glasses. I was then scheduled for surgery on the left eye. I went to Dr. Le for many years and was 100% satisfied! He did cataract surgery on both of my eyes. I had lasik surgery many years ago and I understand that makes the cataract surgery somewhat more challenging. I have almost perfect vision and do not need to wear glasses except for reading glasses for very small print in a dark room, like Some restaurant menus. I have been seeing Dr. Le for two years for regular exams for eye health. He advised me a few months ago that I should start thinking about having cataract surgery in both eyes as the cataracts were slowly progressing. I have been to Desert Eye and Laser on two occasions and both times, the doctor misdiagnosed my condition ! The first time was for a pain in my eye. It became so intense at times, it woke me up in the middle of the night. The doctor's diagnosis was an infection and he prescribed some drops. The problem did not go away so I saw a different doctor. He described the problem as epithelium wrinkling and prescribed Muro 128. The problem and pain quickly dissipated. I went to the doctor at Desert Eye and laser a second time with multiple symptoms. Flashes in the corner of my eye, a sudden increase in floaters, a blurry spot in my vision and several tiny black dots which would come and go. After the doctors exam, his explanation was that he didn't see anything wrong with my eye and these symptoms are not uncommon as we age. Hearing his diagnosis, I asked.... all of these symptoms will start at the same time due to age? One day I wake up and my body and eye decides I'm getting old and all these symptoms start simultaneously? His reply was yes, it can happen and he walked out of the room . This made no sense to me at all, so about a week later, I saw a different doctor. This doctor took great care during the examination and saw what she thought was a possible hole or tear in the retina. She called a retina specialist and the specialist said I should come to her office right away. After being examined by the specialist, it was confirmed that I had a torn retina and if not addressed immediately, it could lead to a detached retina. I then underwent emergency laser surgery to repair the tear. Needless to say, I will NOT be going to this eye doctor again !!!!! read more

Dr Le removed my cataracts in February 2021. Results were amazing -- I could see distances without glasses, my night vision came back for driving at night, and I only use readers for the newspaper and computer. My husband and I both go to Dr. Le. My husband, sister-in-law and a friend have all had cataract surgery by him, all are happy with their results. My husbands in particular was difficult because of a LASIK surgery performed by another Doctor that was not successful to say the least. I went to him for a regular exam and a contact fitting. I don't think he does that. When I asked him to rewrite my prescription he told me to bring the box from my current prescription and just rewrote what was on the box. I have multiple eye issues including cataracts, glaucoma, AMD and a permanently dilated pupil. Needless to say, it was imperative I found an eye doctor who not only understood all these problems, but how best to maintain my eyesight. Having had experience with other MD's in Palm Springs, I chose to drive what, for me, is a significant distance relative to other options. He is worth it! In addition to the high quality of care (and the confidence I have in him), Dr. Le's office is incredibly efficient. If it wasn't for the nice girl that helped me this place wouldn't even get a star. I will never go back. I have lupus. It runs in my family. Meaning 3 out of four sisters have it. So that being said when I asked for a plaqunenil screening most doctors know what I am taking about plaquenil can affect the eyes long term. I have been taking it for about 5 years. I know it can affect your eyes because lupus runs in my family and we have taken plaqunenil. Several of the specialist I see know this they tell me that I need screenings Occasionally. So when I go in I am under the impression that the eye doctor know what I am talking about. NOPE. He said the plaqunenil doesn't do that it was the steroid that I take. So the 3 specialist I see and The specialist that my sisters see are completely wrong. How silly of them to get plaqunenil screenings for when they were on this medication. I feel so dumb. But yet my doctors who have been practicing for many years have NEVER heard of a prednisone (steroid) screening. And when I got new my prescription I told the doctor that the prescription fix the double vision but everything else was still blurry. He kept saying okay and insisted that I take the prescription but did not fix the problem. Now one of my going to do if I still can't see, why do I want a prescription that I can't see out of. Why the hell am I can go back he said I'll see in a year shook . my hand and walked out the door. The doctor was either deaf or just dumb. I will never go back. I will not recommend this place to no one. read more

First of all, Dr. Lee does not bill VSP, nor does he tell patients up front that his office does not accept VSP. So if your primary insurance provider does not cover eye exams, you will have to pay out of pocket. I was informed by Dr. Lee's office that I would need to pay and then attempt to get reimbursed by my vision insurance provider. Second, and a huge turn off, is that as soon as Dr. Lee completes his eye exam, which I will say is adequate, a sales person immediately enters the exam room and attempts to have you purchase vitamins and other products from their associated provider. You will also notice that in his office there are many posters for cosmetics etc. The sales person is quite high pressure. The vitamins that she was trying to push on me I can purchase from Costco for much less money. read more

His conversation got around to knowing me as a person. I was referred to him by a friend who was unhappy with previous experience at the same practice I left.
