My mom had two successful cataract surgeries with Dr. Le. Yesterday, we went for her one-month follow-up and everything was perfect. She's a healthy 85 years old lady but her eyes were in bad shape due to cataracts. One of her eyes had a stigmatism that she had dealt her entire life. A special lens was inserted during surgery, which corrected the life long issue. Just so you know, Medicare does not cover the cost of special lenses, so there's an additional out of pocket expense. I was referred to Dr Le and saw him last month. He and his staff were very professional. I was told Dr Le did not have a chatty bedside manner. I'd rather have a Dr that was professional and focused on what he was doing, after hearing some horror stories in this valley. Yes, he did ask why I was there, which was an appropriate question to ask face to face. I said I was having issues reading fine print, and he asked what I did. I said I sold cruises and owned a travel agency, and we talked for the next 1/2 hr about cruises. I am in the customer service business and it just goes to show that anyone can open up if you make an effort. I shook Dr. Le's hand and thanked him and complimented him on his professional staff. This doctor is lucky I even gave him a 1 star...my husband and I always go once a year for an eye exam, so my husband found him on Yelp. We made our appt: same day same time, we got checked in, they dilated our eyes at the same time. Dr Hal Le came in and examined my eyes, not realizing my glasses we very little prescription hardly enough to read. I had bough my eye glasses in Beverly Hills another scam, I spent $$$ of dollars, not being told I had very little prescription, oh no they had to make money to pay their rent which was one street next to Rodao Drive... When I filled out my questionnaire, I was honest and put my medications down, mind you being on pain control after two failed back surgery, I have been judged the whole five years that my husband and I have lived out here, I totally understand where they are coming from, because I judged my patients for taking so much pain medication, it was pay back, or Karma that paid me back. So Dr. Le came into my exam room and said to me "why are you here" I had to bite my tongue, and I said because my husband and I always get our eyes examined once a year. I really felt that Dr. Le thought I was going to ask him for a prescription of pain pills. I am under the care of a pain control doctor, I was not seeking a pain medication. Proceed with caution. Dr. Le has what appears to be a very successful practice. Unfortunately his bedside manner simply didn't work for me. Be cautious of possible unnecessary referrals to specialists. In my case the retina referral was a false alarm and may not have been necessary. Dr. Le failed to adequately provide me with the information I needed to make a decision on what may be required to diagnose my condition. The doctors diagnosis was " you have cataracts, do you want the surgery or not?" I went to the Maleskus Eye Center and received much better care and a more thorough examination and explanation of my condition and corrective actions. I was left with an impression that Dr. Le may be one of those doctors that sends out lots of referrals to , perhaps, partner medical specialists. When I asked the doctor the cost of the procedure his response was " The cost is covered by Medicare and it depends. I cant tell you how much a procedure costs. Hmm, why would a procedure cost be different for an insured vs Medicare or even an uninsured. Shouldn't a procedure have a set cost and then be offset by various insurance coverages? This practice left me with the impression it was a cataract mill. Dr. Le may work for some, just not for me. At minimum , I would get a second opinion after visiting Dr. Le read more

I highly recommend Dr Hal Le for Cataract surgery. I have been seeing Dr. Le since moving to the desert 4 years ago. In the beginning Dr. Le said that we would have to closely monitor my cataracts (which I already knew). I had surgery in both eyes just recently. It was a relatively quick and painless procedure. I am now over a month post surgery. No complications and my eye sight is amazing. Not having to pay for prescriptions glasses and being able to buy off the rack sunglasses is a big money safer. Dr Le is great. He was highly recommended by another doctor my husband visited for surgery required on his eyelid. My husband has been going to Dr. Le for several years. Dr. Le really takes the time to listen to you and his office staff are very attentive, friendly and efficient. On a recent weekend, I had a problem with my left eye and feared I was having a retinal detachment. I called Dr. Le's service, and described my problem. He called me back to discuss my symptoms and his office called 1st thing Monday to get me in to be examined right away.
