This is a late review and update, and I meant to post it a while ago. Andrew came to my home to clean my air ducts and dryer vent over the summer. His company was cleaning several units in the area, and I asked him at the last minute. Luckily, he came the next day to take care of my place. That was very kind of him to squeeze me into his schedule. I was way overdue for an air duct cleaning, and had told Andrew I've been coughing. He cleaned the ducts, which were very dirty. After the cleaning, I noticed that my cough had gone away. So, if you might have a lingering cough, see if your vents need to be cleaned. Andrew did a great job, was professional, and explained things. He's honest and knows his stuff. He wore booties in my house and did a clean job. Since he serviced my place before, I knew what to expect.I sincerely recommend him, and I think the rate was reasonable. read more

I agree with all the people who say Richard is the rudest person they met. But he is also the most unethical and corrupt person with a level of lying that I have never seen. And he will throw any employee under the bus. They were hired to clean out our dryer vents. The service tech came. Super dirty work boots and when I asked him to put on booties, he made the biggest deal out of it, almost having a tantrum. Did he think I would let him walk in my home with work boots that are filthy? Then with everyone else's lines, he removed the dryers and cleaned the line from there. That is where most of the built up is, the first 90 degrees that your vent goes up the wall, and the next 90 degrees that it makes to run across your ceiling. But because he was so lazy, he gave me some shpeel about how his vacuum can go through any 90 turn. So he went on the balcony and removed a vent cover, which out of 36 units, our was the only one that had one and started vacumming from that side. In less than 3 minutes he said he was done, vacuuming 50' of vent. After he left, he had left a mess on the balcony, and he didn't put the cover back on. Which I had to get a stepper for and hang on my balcony to replace. But it gets better, we felt a steamy odor a few days later. And of course he had dislocated our dryer connection and when we pulled back the dyer, all of this lint came out. So he had pushed everything down to the dryer connection. And it gets even better, when I called to complain, he had no recollection that he even did work in our building, denied everything, didn't even know our management company, Ross Morgan, which makes sense as another yelper wrote their building had hired them to clean ducts for years, only to find out that they had never stepped into the building. But yet he did go back to our manager at Ross Morgan and say I yelled at their employee. When I spoke to Lucy, she confirmed we had a pleasant conversation. So which is it, do you know Ross Morgan or do you not? I wonder why Dan, the owner, who lets Richard get away with this level of rudeness and lying, is ok with someone treating his company like this. Don't get fooled by he cheap price. They don't do the work and there are even yelpers who say they damaged their vents. Beware. read more

They were asked to assess food smells in our building and made wrong assumptions and after costing a lot of money the smells are still there. For people who are supposed to be knowledgeable about how ducts work, they were clueless. read more

Very irresponsible. Our dryer vent was damaged and caused a serious bird mite infestation and all they do is denying the connection. Our HOA scheduled dryer vent cleaning service with Action Duct Cleaning. A few weeks after the service, bird mites started showing up in our unit. After a quick investigation, it was due to damaged dryer vent, and birds came inside the vent, died there and brought in at least thousands of bird mites into our unit. It was horrible and we have to call exterminators and our handyman to fix it asap. And when we reach out to Action Duct Cleaning, they just kept denying it was caused by their service. read more

Update: Action Duct's COO called me to apologize for my experience and the lack of communication after the problem wasn't solved. They even sent me a check for the entire cost of the service which I didn't ask for or expect but he said when I called the first time saying the issue wasn't fixed, it should have been offered. So, in the end I am impressed with the follow up and commitment to keeping customers satisfied. We are having the AC coil replaced. Hopefully that solves this issue since it is getting very hot and we cannot safely use the AC. read more

Made 2 appointments with this company - one on a Friday afternoon and one on a Saturday afternoon to have my dryer air ducts cleaned. In both cases, I made a lot of arrangements to be home and available as I am a FT working individual. NO CALL NO SHOW!! Left messages of my availability before the scheduled time ( since they didn't show the first time). I called at my time, before my time, after my time and they declined my calls. Andy did an amazing job cleaning our kitchen hood and fan unit. He took the extra time to explain what he was doing and answered all my questions. He put in a lot of hard work as my home builder did a hack job doing the initial install (thanks, Pulte) that made putting the fan back in extremely challenging. But Andy did everything he could, he handled it like a professional. He said he was a stand up guy and wanted to do it right,, and his actions proved it 110%. Outstanding service. Just moved into a house previously occupied by an elderly couple for many years. The first time I turned on the air conditioning I could tell that the vents were in dire need of cleaning. My contractor recommended Action Duct and they were willing to come out on a Sunday! Andy showed up and immediately went into 'action' inspecting and cleaning the vents. He covered the floors with tarps and then rolled in a humungous commercial vacuum and made his way up into the attic. 2 1/2 hrs. later, the job was done. I could immediately tell that all was well. The air coming out now smells clean, the A/C works better and there is no smell of dust. The charge was $672 and I checked around, that is how much it costs to get a top rate job done. OMG! So I thought this company couldn't get any worse. Apparently they have been servicing the complex I live in for years and the management company just found out Action Duct wasn't actually cleaning the dryer vents they were hired to clean. Apparently they didn't even know where they dryer vents were. For years the management company has been paying them to clean the vents and allegedly they have never been cleaned. read more

This guy Richard is a real piece of work. Just had the duct "cleaning" an hour ago and the guy was here for about 5-10 min. For $155 dollars that comes out to about $1000/hr. The day before Richard promised all this other stuff to my wife, when we call later to ask about why none of that happened he conveniently forgets the entire conversation and gives us major attitude. Not sure if he is interested in repeat business but this is our second and last time. Oh, and the FB page for the HOA we used to belong to is going to get a similar post. read more

I have not gotten services yet through this company but I have been speaking to Richard over the phone and I am appalled at how rude and unprofessional he is. One of the rudest people I have ever spoken to on the phone. Zero sense of customer service - he cut me off multiple times, would not let me talk, and would make me feel stupid even though I am just asking simple questions about the cleaning services. I had zero air coming into the entire back section of my house and using a camera they were able to, through the process of elimination, pinpoint the exact location the ducts had disconnected and repair it! My wife said the dryer wasn't drying very well. We've had this problem before and I bought these flexible rods that have a brush on one end and attach to my drill on the other. You run the "snake" through the duct and it cleans out the lint that's blocking it. I did that. Then NO AIR air came out of the duct. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I called Waadt Appliance in Van Nuys. Waadt is family owned and absolutely the best place to buy appliances. They said Action Duct is the bomb. WOW - ARE THEY EVER!!! I called at about 3 PM on Thursday and Marvin was here at 1 PM Friday. I explained everything to him and he knew just what to do. He hooked up this high pressure air blower to the duct. I went outside to see if anything came out. Holy Cow! It was like Mt. St Helens! He ran his own "snake" through and got a little bit more out. Then he cleaned up everything, replaced the flex from the dryer to the duct and was gone in less than a half hour. To say I'm happy is an understatement. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Twice, this company has been scheduled to clean the dryer ducts in our townhouse complex and TWICE they were a no show. The 1st time, they put notices on our doors the afternoon of the day they were supposed to show saying "due to unforeseen circumstances, we need to reschedule". The 2nd time (today), there was no communication. They just didn't show. My townhouse was scheduled between 12-4, so of course I waited ALL DAY. So irritated!!! read more

I had an dryer duct cleaning for a condo and Claudio went above and beyond in his service. The vent was bent and curved several times in the ceiling and Claudio tried to clean it from both sides and cleaned it thoroughly. He went out of his way to make sure it made as little mess as possible and showed me how much lint and dust was in the vents. I'll definitely be calling them again. Highly recommended. read more

Andy from Action Duct has been coming to my place once a year for three years now. I thought my dryer was broken because clothes were just getting wet and steamy. But, I live in a condo with an odd design, and the dryer vents into a long duct that goes through a wall and around a corner before it vents outside. Andy discovered that this long duct was clogged up. In no time, he had it cleaned out and my dryer worked beautifully. He also noticed that protective cover over the exterior vent was too tight a mesh, and was causing reduced airflow. He replaced it with a wider mesh and that helped a lot, too. Now he comes out once a year to clean out whatever has accumulated in that long duct. He's courteous, responsible and 100% honest. He's not going to recommend work that you don't need.
