We came to town and had heard about AC's steakhouse. Even though it was highly recommended, it surpassed expectations. The appetizers were good and generous portions. We had a steak and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We rounded out with the fried cheese cake and flourless chocolate cake. Yum! The service was friendly... The owner came out and checked on the table. I wish we had an AC's in Florida. You have quiet a gem in Hernando... A big thumbs up for AC's. This is honestly the sorriest excuse for a nice restaurant that I have ever seen. Food was bland, flavorless and just plain bad from start to finsish. My husband and I have visited AC's in Hernando a handful of times since it opened. The first time we ever ate there for dinner we felt it was just mediocre and a little overpriced. Awhile later we decided to give it another shot, and we were impressed! The service has always been great, and the food has gotten better with each visit. Now, we love it! Overpriced to start. Our crab cakes were awful. No flavor and the sauce on top was even worse. Creamed spinach was also bland and was like soup! My asparagus was tough and soaked in lemon. It wasn't edible. Our server, Nancy was kind and offered to let us speak with the manager but we aren't into making a scene in places like that so we paid $72 and left. The manager seeing our plates that were basically still full should have made their way to US! I've worked high end restaurants before and the manager is always out making table rounds. Not this manager. We won't be back. The owner needs to get a handle in this mess because you are basically stealing money from people when you serve over priced food that taste like it came from the frozen food aisle at Wal-Mart. My wife and I have eaten salads here before that were delicious so this time we decided to go against our diets and have a steak. We both had the filets cooked medium. Both steaks were cooked perfectly. My wife had steamed broccoli for her side plus a garden salad. Absolutely delish. I had the garlic mashed potatoes with a garden salad. Fantastic. We normally go to Melissa's for our steaks but with AC's prices I think this will be our new steakhouse. Hernando visitor ... so first time to eat there. Ate at 5:30 pm June 22, 2017. Shared a sirloin with my wife with veggie medley .... DELICIOUS. Don't mess it up with a steak sauce. The veggies were flavorful and tender unlike many places where it is bland and water-logged. Among the best flavored steaks I have had. Very attentive serving staff. We were well cared for. My wife got the Spring salad and it was phenomenal. The coffee is excellent and the tea. We also had the sausage cheese, fried pickle and olive appetizer. WOW. I must disagree with the guy who said the pickles are hard to eat because they are not cut like hamburger pickles. Nope I simply CANNOT agree. Don't penalize them for a personal preference. It was another "killer" plate. So much we had to take it to the motel and finish it later. To the guy who can't figure these why they get these 5 star ratings I suggest he forgive and go again. Had to be an "off night". I eat at many "world class" places and this deserves 5 star. This is no "short-order cook" facility. read more

Highly overpriced. Rack of ribs was $25! And didn't have the courtesy to include even one wet nap! House wine portion was so small as to be unbelievable. Waiter was just interested in elevating the check. Manager argued with me when informed about the wet nap. All in all, an unpleasant experience. read more

No wait for 6 people which was awesome. We ordered several apps, crab dip, cheese sticks, oysters, and mushrooms all were pretty good. I got the salmon, it was not great. It had a dry fishy taste so i couldn't eat it. Ny husband got the NY strip and he said it was just ok. Also ordered was the lobster mac and cheese it was good but not enough lobster for the price. My favorite place to go for dinner. The pepper jack corn dip is to die for. The hamburger is one of the best I've had. When I go to other steak restaurants, I feel like I need to order the filet to get a good steak...but ACs $20 sirloin is amazing, especially with the steak butter that comes on the top. My kids have never had a complaint about their choices off of the kids menu, although they usually want to share our steaks. The staff is always friendly. Love this restaurant. read more

we just left there and i couldn't eat my steak. 1st the shrimp cocktail was supposed to be jumbo shrimp, and when it arrived the shrimp were 18-20's instead of large large jumbo's as advertised. the meat had no flavor and mediocre cool for a new york strip.. my wife tasted the steak 1st and shook her head no. i tasted it 2nd and it was terrible. we dropped a 100 bucks on a meal we couldn't eat. save your money and goto mcdonalds......ac's hernando is a joke! read more

Disappointing . The last time we ate here it was fabulous. Last Friday nite -not so much. We both had steaks which was a poor choice. Both strip steaks were undercooked, very chewy with not much flavor. Most of our food was lukewarm which was not good. For the price our dinner should have been way better. SO Happy to have them here in Hernando!!! We have enjoyed eating here several times now and have found the food to be overall pretty good. The service has been good as well. My wife had a small issue that we advised a manager of (nothing major) and she promptly addressed it to our satisfaction. Burgers and Fries are great and portions are quite large. I suppose that my wife and I were there when they were having a not so good night. Our appetizer (pepper jack corn dip) was ok but nothing special. Our salads tasted as if they had just escaped from a bag off of a Kroger shelf. Our steaks were genuinely tasteless. No joke - - I don't know how they removed the flavor from a perfectly cooked filet mignon, but it was truly tasteless. Our check came to $75 - a bit on the pricey side for dinner for two. However, had the meal been up to par we wouldn't have given it a second thought. I suppose that there was a good reason that we enjoyed immediate seating at 7:30 on a Saturday evening - - the restaurant was barely half full. I read the other reviews before posting and saw where several others have had a much different experience than ours. I truly hope that we just stumbled in on the wrong night. read more

I ate here tonight for a friend's birthday. Our waitress, Sarah, was fantastic. The food came quickly and was delicious. I got the grilled shrimp (scampi style) and cheese grits. This restaurant is great! It was such a great surprise. The food was great in portion and quality. We had the shrimp po boys. Appetizers were onion rings. They were the best I ever had. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip and it was so salty we could barely eat it. We ordered the shrimp platter with garlic mashed potatoes to share and the grilled cheese with fries for our kids to share. The shrimp was so salty it was inedible and the garlic mashed potatoes were severely undercooked. The grilled cheese and fries were swimming in grease so bad the grilled cheese didn't even look like bread. They brought another one out. The fries were better but the grilled cheese had no butter, burnt spots and the cheese was still cold. The service was terrible and the bathrooms were filthy. We wouldn't have stayed but it was Father's Day and all of the other restaurants were packed and we have 2 small kids. Needless to say we will NEVER go back. read more

Been there twice, food was just ok both times. Staff was very nice, however. Unfortunately there is really not much to the "pub" part. It could be a great alternative to the only other nightlife place on the square with a little attention. They seem happy being more of a "restaurant..." but it's not really a great steak place.. I am vegan so did not have many food options on the city. AC had a pasta with steamed vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, can't remember what else) and was able to hold the cheese sauce that usually accompanies it. Food was bland but fine. Nice glass of white wine. Servers very friendly. read more

If you are looking for great tasting food.....this is the place. We came into Southaven from Atlanta to visit a friend. After trying to find a place to eat on a Saturday night in Southaven all had an hour wait. We drove to AC's in Hernando and got a table right away. I was very surprised they were not packed because the food is exceptional. We ordered the mushrooms....yum.... And the $35.00 steak was big enough for my husband and I to share. read more

OMG! New signature app (worthy of a signature dish) - Pork Belly Cubes: Grilled, quickly fried and tossed in a house made BBQ sauce. Almost made the mistake of ordering it with the BBQ sauce on the side. The sauce is tangy, with a bit of a kick and perfectly balances the richness of the pork belly. Followed the app with a perfectly cooked bacon wrapped filet, deliciously grilled shrimp with the best baker around and some sautéed mushrooms. We ate here last year, and my wife loved it. I couldn't remember it. Some friends of ours wanted to get together tonight and recommended Windy City Grill but we recommended AC's Steakhouse. When we got there it wasn't too crowded, about 3 tables with maybe 20 folks. Unfortunately, there was only 1 waitress so when you added our table of 6; it was more than this place could handle. Our food was okay, grilled chicken and the ribs were too salty but portions were good-sized. Due to the waitress being overwhelmed, she apologized repeatedly for her lack of attention to us but each time we needed refills on our drinks, we had to ask. I was embarrassed that I had all my friends from Southaven come down to Hernando, spend $150, and not have a decent experience. My burger was pretty good but I got shorted on the french fries compared to my daughter who got a huge portion. She had about 200 and I had about 25. My wife still swears by this place but I recommend you find somewhere else on a Sunday afternoon. read more

We ate there Saturday night. Service was terrible. Took forever to get drinks and get help from our server who had two other tables in a different section. We saw about 4 other servers in our section who were busy cleaning up and didn't think to offer to help. We had to stop someone. We watched a table beside us wait a long time for drinks like we did and they got up and left. Very disappointed because the place has a great atmosphere, noy enougj to go back for a while. Poor teamwork and they weren't that busy. If we ever go back we will sit at the bar. read more

I eat out a lot with my family and try to leave reviews to reward the staff or give constructive criticism on how the place could do better. Rarely do i just complain. I give three stars because the wait time wasn't bad. The server was very kind and good at her job, and also the food was good. What i did not like was that the management chose to scold the server/worker in front of the guest for who knows what reason. I could tell it really upset the worker and drew attention from the tables dining around us. There is a time and place for everything and whatever the problem was should have been handled behind closed doors. Thank you. read more
