We moved in to our new house a few months ago and felt very safe. It had an alarm system already wired in, but we only knew how to use it when we were away. Then, one night while we were sleeping, we had an attempted break in. This guy jumped our fence and tried to get in through the windows and the front door. I contacted ACS security a month ago for consultation. The ACS agent called me and made an appointment for the next day. The Rep (Claudia) showed up on time and went through the house and suggested the places we needed security. She was very knowledgeable and made good suggestion. We are current customers. Unfortunately. The issue comes down to a lack of honesty on the part of ACS. We have fulfilled our year contract (which is what we were told when we signed up) and now we are being directed to the fine print in the contract which states a 3 year contract. 3 years!!! Others on Yelp have commented on this, I tend to agree that this is their way of dealing with locking people in while providing poor service. Any company that uses fine print with an unhappy customer is not a company that I want to work with. Now to the reason that we called to cancel. Part of the ACS service is the patrol that they send around to keep an eye on the neighborhood. This is why we switched from ADT. At the time we signed up ACS was making a sales push in our neighborhood and we saw the patrol once or twice per day. Over the last year I have seen them patrol once. Once in a year! And I am outside a lot... working in the yard, walking the dog, playing with my kids. Not only have they lied about their service, they tell you one thing and put opposing words in their contracts. I was alerted on my phone that my cameras detected an intruder in my home. I was not home at the time. I called ACS SECURITY and within minutes they were at my home, called the police and stayed on the line with me. By the time the police arrived, ACS SECURITY had 5 armed patrol officers at my home. First off, I'm not a customer of this company, I am just a person who lives in society. I came across one of these employees of this company who was by far one of the rudest human beings I have ever encountered. I walk into a 711 on ventura blvd right off the 405 with my girlfriend and this guy in an acs security uniform started heckling me at the counter and making sexual noises and gestures to my girlfriend. Now I have a calm temper. But in the world of today I kept my composure and remained calm before I beat the living crap out of this guy. I would never hire such people with disrespectful manners as this. He needs to learn some self respect. The guys disscription is dark male about 6 ft tall with dreaded hair. Totally unprofessional. This company would never get my business, nore would I recommend this company. First impressions mean everything, especially when you wear a company uniform. read more

They do a really poor job of patrol service. A goal with this company is sign up as many people as they can lock them into a long multi year contract but tell them they can cancel whenever they want and then collect the money and disappear. One of the best advertising tools a company like this house is it's yard signs. Don't really believe that every house you see displaying their signs is actually still a customer. Recently I shopped around for commercial private security systems for my nursing home. I called many places and very few could do it I asked however ACS was one who said sure we can do it. I made an appointment and a woman came out to my business and told me how much it would cost. She did not do a walk-through she did not ask very many questions. She offered me a " end of the day price" at the end of our 5 minute visit. Puzzled I asked her what is the 'end of the day' price mean? She replied oh she had been had a busy day and this is one of her last appointment so she'll give me a good price because she wants to end the day well. Well, if she got me to pay $450 a month, her day would've ended well because that was not an excellent price for my business security system but it would be an excellent profit for them in my opinion. Curious, I asked what would the normal price be and she said no no I'll just give you that price. When I said thank you and I'll let you know she said what is holding you back from doing this today and I told her I was looking at other quotes. She graciously offered to honor that price until the end of the month, about l a week and a half. The truth is I was very turned off by her style and approach of pressuring me to sign up with them in the way. I I feel like security services are selling a service not really a product, and their service is building trust and confidence and security. This representative did the opposite, I felt like she was a little shady and it did not create a sense of confidence in the services that she was trying to sell me. Overall I chose a competitor company ADT, which was less than 25% of what quoted ACS quotes me, even with my reps end of the day rate special. All aspects of the interaction with them and installation of the system went smoothly and quickly. I'm quite happy with my new service. Perhaps if I were a straight male, this beautiful Rep may have got me to pay a higher price but I guess they tried to use the wrong tactic on me. Their service person who arrived 15 minutes before our appointment time today to fix a sensor issue actually let people in my home and turned off the alarm for them. WHAT you may say? Yes that is correct. The service technician even asked if they were the owners and they said no. Protect your home, protect your family, but please do NOT use ACS security. ACS is probably one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. My assessment is based on honesty and quality of service. Where can I start? Perhaps I can start with the lies we were told about what the costs would be. They start at $40/month but don't tell you that those are temporary prices. Let's move on from that. How about the false alarm at my home and when the guard showed up and saw my 70 year old mother and started threatening her. How about the lies we were told about reprimanding the gaurd that did this? How about the courtesy credits we were promised that we never received as a result of this? How about finding out our service was cancelled mysteriously because we complained too loud- this seems so retaliatory. The list goes on. I have hear stories about this company but now I know reality is much worse that what I've heard. The guards themselves are some of the most unproffesional people i have ever met, they sit in their cars and eat and even when you approach them they continue eating and try to speak to you-even if it's a serious matter. The service people that come to your house, pressure you and scare you into accepting expensive repairs and if you complain, they say "should i remove it even though you will not be safe?" read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars. This company is WORTHLESS!!!! A car drove by my house as two thugs were on my stairs and another at my front door! A while later, the thugs broke through my back door, set off the alarm, and burglarized the house. In and out in 3 minutes with a lot of jewelry. NO ACS car showed up!!!!!! Instead, the dispatcher called my husband's call and said, "there's an alarm going off at your house"....DUH send a car!! We got home before the crack ACS car even got there.... bye bye.
