So I decided to have our tv mounted,I like the whole cords concealed idea. Why not do it ourselves?!! We couldn't find the stud rather than guess we called the professionals Pros: it looks great Didn't have to do it My daughter can't put it down Cons: A tad bit pricey for my taste We had to buy extension cables, which added to the phone quote Tv is in a permanent position All & all we are please Thanks Paul read more

I needed a home theatre projector mounted to fit a defined space and wanted it to look professional. Paul worked with me to assess my condo layout and his team did exactly what I wanted. They provided all the necessary equipment and tools to finish the job in a timely fashion. I will absolutely contact Paul the next time I have a home A/V need. read more

When it comes to audio/video, I typically am a DIY'er. This job was going to be a little out of my ability to do. So I called Acoustical Vision and Paul called me back right away. We scheduled installing a 32 inch television that weekend, on Sunday. Not many places will work on Sunday! The installation was a little tricky, but Paul's experience showed as he creatively ran power and cable lines through a mechanical closet to get to where they had to be. The end result was a neat and professional looking installation. I would call them again or refer them to anyone. read more

Paul and Pedro were both great, extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. They did an incredible job of mounting my tv and i will definitely use them again. read more

Paul is the man! I found Paul on Craigslist and could tell from the photos and speaking with him over the phone that he was top notch. He came and installed 7 in wall speakers, mounted my flat panel, installed a new electrical outlet hidden behind my display and organized/labeled all of my components. If you have audio/video needs or want to wall mount your LCD I suggest you start by giving Paul a call. read more

Paul was awesome. He gave me the most cost effective possible way to get my LCD on the wall and looking beautiful. I also conveniently started a small fire in my apt before he arrived, and he worked through the no-so-optimal circumstances. I've used the Geek Squad before and Paul was half the price and twice as good! read more

Thanks Paul for the response i have updated my original review to reflect the five stars your company really deserves. Thank you for easing my concerns and i now understand why you used them. read more

I was super impressed with the job these guys did. My husband wanted to move our TV and decided on surround sound. We live in a loft and I was very hesitate to move the TV. It turned out fantastic. The sound is amazing and location of the speaker is perfect. You don't notice them. They moved quick and had it all done in 1 day. I highly recommend these guys and will use them again when we move in our forever home someday! Well done guys. read more

I [stupidly] bought a Denon receiver that got great reviews for performance but really horrible reviews in terms of ease of installation. After several frustrating days in hell trying to figure it out myself, I finally gave up and started searching online for Chicago-area home theatre installation guys. I ended up calling Acoustical Vision, and I'm so glad that I did. Paul's first service was to talk me down off the ledge; once he got here, he was just great about explaining, labeling, and setting everything up so that I could understand it later. The final price was much lower than I expected, and they were worth every penny. I would not hesitate to use them again, and I will be recommending them to all of my friends. read more

We emailed several persons about mounting our flat-screen television, and Paul was the first to respond. Paul and his very nice assistant were professional and careful with our apartment (laying down cardboard and paint cloths to protect our flooring), and did a fantasic job mounting our television (finally, no wires!). They were knowledgable and prepared for any unanticipated problems-- which we had, since our electrical outlets weren't in the correct place for the television. Paul and his assistant were able to create an outlet without any trouble to us. Additionally, Paul was very helpful both during and after the mounting process, as we had questions that he was happy to answer. We were so happy with our television mounting that we used Paul and his assistant again today for help setting up our sound system throughout the house. They arrived on time, were just as professional and knowledgable as the first time, and completed the work in short order. Since my boyfriend was at work and I wasn't sure about some of Paul's questions, Paul helpfully emailed my boyfriend and offered to talk him through any questions we had. Overall a great experience with this business. read more

We had a great experience with Paul and his employee Sam. They showed up for a free consultation and we discussed several different options for mounting two TVs and concealing all the associated cables. We discussed the pros and cons of each and once we reviewed the estimate and made a decision we booked an appointment without hassle. Paul and Sam showed up late morning and worked until late evening (~9pm) with a small break for lunch. The final bill was almost exact to the estimate. They were very professional, cleaned up after themselves, and made sure all devices were working properly before they left. They are even coming back at no charge to finish up one small area. Overall they were very easy to work with, the finished product was better than expected, and the prices were reasonable...5 stars. read more

I had Paul and Conner come at 6:00AM this morning and they were waiting out front right on time. Paul answered the phone each time I needed to call and confirm and discuss the specifics of my TV installation. We moved out of the old place and into my new place all within 3-4 hours. Paul and Conner moved the electrical sockets cable feed so that the TV location would better fit the set up of my living room. They also did great dry wall repair! Paul and Conner are handy, but also very much understand the customer service component of this job. They treated me and my new condo with a great deal of respect. I would recommend Paul to anyone looking for full service audio and TV installation. read more

Fantastic! Paul came over to take a look at what we had, what we needed, and (very importantly!) where it would all go. He drew up a very reasonable proposal (with choices), and we scheduled the work! Throughout the process, he was easy to contact, answered questions and gave recommendations honestly, and never tried to steer us toward things we didn't need. Installation was smooth & efficient; Paul and Connor handled the recycling of our old units (TV, receiver, DVD) and got everything set up & optimized for us so that by the time they left, it was all ready-to-go! He stressed that if we needed any adjustments or had any questions, we shouldn't hesitate to call/email. Their commitment doesn't end when they walk out the door! Really fantastic work--I'd recommend them in a heartbeat! Thanks! read more

This review is long overdue. In Jan 2015, I purchased a 65" Samsung with mount. While attempting a DIY install, quickly discovered my drill wasn't powerful enough to secure the mounting screws. After searching yelp, requesting and accepting the quote via email. Paul was at my home to complete the install the next day. Their price was also the best of 3 quotes The guys were on-time, very professional, cleaned-up as needed and also offered to hide my A/V cables as described by others. But since I am in the middle of several other rehab projects involving low and high voltage work - I wasn't ready. I'm glad I chose Acoustical Vision and will definitely use them for future work. read more

I have had both Security Cameras and an Alarm System installed by Paul. He is easy to work with and stays until he completes the job. I would highly recommend him and would consider using him for all my future needs. He is also very good at Communicating which is important to me. read more

Paul and Jim were great. We had two big TV's (42" Plasma and 55" LCD) that were being hung on different sides of the same wall. Nothing about our situation was normal, but they made it work! They even went out of their way to hook up one of our surround sound speakers so that it looked GOOD, not like it didn't belong in its spot. They have flexible hours, are extremely friendly, and VERY thourough! Our unusual job took nearly 9 hours, but not once did they stop smiling. I would recommend them to anyone with any TV hanging needs. He also does speaker set up, and he mentioned that he hangs art as well. You really can't ask for more. read more

I had Paul install my new LED TV with surround sound and all the other bells and whistles that go with it, including a universal remote to run everything, and relocate my "old" LCD and cable box to the master bedroom. I bought most of the products from Paul. Everything he recommended turned out great. The speakers sound great, the receiver does everything with ease, the sub is great as well as the iPod dock, bluray and universal remote. And the best part is the price. I checked everything online and all his prices were at well below what you would pay anywhere else! He had to run wires, relocate wires and electrical outlets and modify my component cabinet to fit everything. All was done with care and finished like it was original construction. Like others have said he and his helper did an excellent job of installing everything while not creating a huge mess, and they cleaned up everything when they were done. Paul made sure, before he left, that everything was to my liking and that I understood how to run all the components. His labor prices are also very reasonable. I highly recommend using Acoustical Vision for your home entertainment needs! You will be hard pressed to find someone with better prices who cares about his work and your happiness as Paul does! read more

Paul just completed installing a whole house AV system for me, and I am very pleased. I quoted the job with three AV guys and went with Paul, I am very happy that I did. He mounted 5 plasmas throughout the house, two surround sound systems, outdoor speakers and a AV rack in the basement. The cool thing about the system is that at each TV location there is nothing but the TV, all the components are hidden in the rack in the basement. The remotes control the components via IR and RF frequency. Paul is very professional, responsive and a hard worker, definitely use him for your next AV project. read more

A few weeks ago, Acoustical Vision installed my 55 inch Samsung smart tv, and they moved my electrical outlet so there would not be any exposed cords. The owner, Paul, was very professional and he worked late on a Saturday night in order to complete my installation. I highly recommend this company. read more

Quick callback, on time for appointment, followed the no shoe policy, and did a great job with the install. We'll be going back to them for another install soon. read more

Paul and Pedro came out to install a TV in our bedroom, which involved new mounting, fishing HDMI/ethernet wires, and installing/moving an electrical outlet. Paul was very open to any preference or feedback I had during the process, and Pedro (who did all the electrical) could not have been a more competent or nicer guy. They ran into a couple snags within the walls, needed longer cables than originally anticipated, but rolled with it as needed and still honored the original price quote. I was skeptical when they said they would leave everything in 'paint ready' condition when done; however, that did turn out to be the case. I just painted over the couple of wall holes they had made and patched up, and you sure enough you can't even tell now where they were. Overall everything went great, and I could not be happier with the results. read more

We were moving so we needed our TV's taken down, transported, and hung at our new apartment. Paul and his team did an amazing job patching the holes and re-hanging our TV's. They are perfectly hung with not a single wire in sight! We could not have been happier with his service, punctuality, and professionalism. I definitely recommend Acoustical Vision!! Thanks, Paul! read more

Paul was very responsive to my initial call as I was in need of moving my cable wires from outside of our brick condo building to the inside. I called on a Sat and we scheduled our consult for that Sun. When we scheduled the date and time to do the work Paul and his rep Connor were on time and got to work immediately. The job was successfully done in a very clean and neat manner and they not only moved our cable wires from the outside of the building inside but we're able to run the living room TV wires through the wall with minimal patching required. Overall it looks great and there was 0 service interruption. I would highly recommend this service to a friend and would use Paul again for any future jobs. read more

I had Paul out to give me an estimate on two projects...1) mounting a 42in flat screen in one room and 2) replacing a HUGE 70in old Sony rear projection behemoth in another room. He was great in laying out all the options for me along with price estimates. After getting quotes from a couple other companies, I decided to go with Paul as I liked his vision and attitude. As far as the finished product, let's just say I was VERY satisfied. The 42in mounting was done quickly and perfectly. The larger project required the construction of a false wall in order to mount my new 75in HD TV. Paul and Connor did such a great job in building it including trim and staining. It looks AWESOME! The wall itself is impressive enough but of course the mounting of the very large TV was no small task. All in all, I think these guys did a fantastic job and would choose them again. In fact, I plan to contact them when I decide to replace the surround sound system installed in my TV room. read more

I contacted Paul at Acoustical Vision based upon a Craigslist add I found that listed many references and had several photos of previous work that they had done. Paul spent a great deal of time on the phone with me to discuss the different options we had for mounting my TV and for setting up home theater speakers. Later in the week after I called him, he came out to my condo for an initial consultation to take a look at my living room and to further discuss the different available options. On the day we scheduled for them to perform the installation, Paul and another guy came over to mount an 52" Samsung LCD TV on my living room wall above my fireplace and to install a center channel speaker in the ceiling. The ceiling speaker sounds and looks great, and the TV installation looks very professional. They were able to run the wires from the back of the TV through the wall so that there are no exposed wires, which makes everything look very tidy. They also patched up holes in the wall that remained from a previous speaker installation. Their pricing seemed to compare favorably with other vendors on Craigslist, and it ended up costing me much less than I expected to pay to have this work done. read more

Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews well enough. I call and receive the "whatever" treatment. After my horrible experience over the phone I come back and read the reviews. I feel duped!!! I am normally very thorough and now I come back and read through the reviews I can see these were written by the business or friends. "What's a lady to do when the man picks a tv and mount that "we can totally mount on the wall ourselves"? Call Paul." - No one writes reviews that way. The people at this company are very arrogant and rude. Do not believe these bogus reviews. I was treated like "we are so busy, why do we need your business". Although that is not a quote, it is a good description of the treatment I received. Shop elsewhere. read more

I've hired Acoustical Vision two times. First for mounting of a 53 inch TV in my condo and later, when I bought a home in the burbs, for a slew of work: -Mount 4 TVs: 63 inch plasma, 60 inc LED, 53 inch plasma and 38 inch LCD -Wire a basement theater and main floor TV area for surround sound -Convert several phone jacks to ethernet ports -Send internet signal to several rooms in my house -Furnish and program two universal remotes -Furnish me with a Pioneer amplifier and two subs In both cases Paul did good work at a reasonable rate and stayed within his quote. There were a couple of tight wiring spots along the way, but he figured out how to get it done cleanly. Would hire him again if needed. read more

I just had to kick Paul out of my house for saying rude things to me under his breath. Compound that with complaining for 10 minutes and that was it. Luckily they had just started. What a load of bullsh*t and I left work early for this. I just couldn't believe what I was witnessing. And when I told him I'm not giving him any money for such rude behavior he said, "I don't need the money." Take that as a cue, people, he doesn't need you. I'm only hoping this review helps a couple people. read more

I made an appointment with Paul directly 2 weeks in advance, never showed up! I cannot believe his complete disregard for my time.

Very talented, patient and persistent- can handle jobs no other electrician or AV specialist can do. Would give more stars if I could. Highly recommend Paul T. for any job. read more

I contacted Acoustical Vision based on their ad on Craigslist and the positive reviews from Yelp. I couldn't be more pleased with the choice! Paul routed our cable through the wall, up over a door frame and patched his work neatly. He also moved an outlet up so that both the cable and electrical are hidden behind the TV. We now have our small bedroom flat screen mounted on an articulating arm that swings out so we can watch it from our bed. Lastly Paul gave me an estimate to move some components and hang another larger TV for us. I would definitely call Acoustical Vision again for any A/V issue in the future! read more

I purchased a 3d tv from ABT and had a somewhat complicated installation job considering the location of my hutch. After getting a pricey quote from ABT I contacted acoustical vision. I am extremely satisfied with the work they did and I saved quite a bit of money. I have contacted Paul twice since and he promptly replied offering any assistance/ follow up I needed. read more

Paul and Pedro showed up right on time and were extremely friendly and professional. They asked me exactly how I wanted the TV to look on the wall. They put down protective sheets over my floor and began to work. Within the hour my new TV was on the wall and the wires were hidden behind. The install went very well and the TV looked great. Paul was even so kind to help me hang my 32" in my bedroom FREE OF CHARGE. I will definitely refer Paul to my friends. I'm the type of person who loves to do things like this on my own, let me just say: leave it up to the pro's and Paul and Pedro do it the way its meant to be done and at a fair price. read more

Paul did a great job hooking up my TV and DVD player. He was quick, professional, very easy to deal with and was able to squeeze me in before another appointment on short notice......oh, and my entertainment center area now looks great! Highly recommend! read more

They were great. Paul was helpful from the first call. I called for a quote and then called back on Friday night around 9pm. Paul was at our condo by 11am on Saturday to install the TV and made sure to ask exactly what I wanted. They were professional, nice, and knew exactly what they were doing. The TV looks amazing and I couldn't be happier with the price. I had them install the electrical outlet behind the TV and run the cable through the wall. Highly recommended to anyone! read more

Paul is my go-to for home audio. I'm fairly handy and can do a lot of stuff myself but when I need someone to come in and give it that "finished" look I call Paul. Based on the very strong reviews I read on Yelp about Acoustical Vision I hired them to hook up and install wall and ceiling surround sound speakers in my new place. They did a wonderful job and I recommend them highly. Paul and Jose were a pleasure to work with. I decided to go with Episode in-ceiling speakers and they are just wonderful for both music and movies. They ran into some problems with the way the builder had set things up and solved these problems very efficiently. I was very happy with the job they did and would use them again without hesitation. read more

Paul came out promptly to give me a quote for installing three TVs. Each installation had different degress of difficulty. When he came back to do the work, he did a good job. Two of the TVs worked well immediately and all three looked nice. There was some ongoing trouble with the most complicated installation. I understood but, of course, wished it would have taken less time (several visits) to figure out the problem. Overall though, it was a good experience. He is a very nice man. read more

I researched quite a few options prior to contacting Acoustical Vision; After reading the many positive reviews I called and was impressed by the timely and efficient manner my request was answered and booked. My install required a high level of skill as two, very large , flat screens, one of which is 3D, needed to be wall-mounted and calibrated. The gentlemen arrived promptly, used drop -clothes, and completed the job beyond my expectations. The cost was exactly as quoted. I am using them again for my condo in Chicago.
