I know this is a burger spot, but I can't get past the chicken sandwich - yet. I love that they offer a decent gluten free bun that holds up to the saucey goodness that you get in each bite so it doesn't fall apart before you are done eating. Their awesome sauce is, well, AWESOME! I even tried to make my own fry sauce and theirs still came out ahead so I don't mess with perfection anymore. I love that they serve tots, sweet spuds, and regular fries. All kinds of deliciousness is found here. Beer on tap is solid and even if the tap options are not your thing their bottle/can options are well thought out and diverse so you can get some delicious craft options. I think one of my top favorites that stands this spot apart from other burger options is the homemade pickles and veggies. I LOVE the carrots! I appreciate the high quality ingredients, friendly staff, and delicious flavors. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They have a plexiglass screen up in front of the cashier. Plenty of seating outside. I love that they use grass fed beef. They also have turkey burgers from Willys. The burgers were super juicy without being greasy, which was awesome. Their sweet potato fries were a bit over fried and dry. Regular fries were good. My only other critique is that the cashier came and put my fries in a box and bag for me without sanitizing his hands first, which is a must. But hopefully that won't happen again. Stumbled upon the place when trying to find a place to stop off 101 for a casual lunch during a short road trip. It was a great find (thank you, Yelp!)! This OCD-SIP mom found this place to be great - from the sanitized ordering to the ample, we'll-spaced, clean outdoor patio. The patio was off to the side of the restaurant and also spilled into a bit of the area of the strip mall, yet it didn't feel like I was sitting in the parking lot next to running-cars, like so many outdoor seating areas nowadays. We ordered: - Acme Burger: basic but tasty. It was perfect for Baby Bear. - Flash Fried Cod Burger: seafood-loving Papa Bear loved it. Ordered double-patty and still inhaled it. - Pulled Pork Sandi: Brother Bear said it was super-juicy. Also inhaled it. - Sonoma Mountain Burger (add bacon and egg): basic, but good. Patty was decent but I wasn't gushing over it like the others and their orders. Everyone dug into it before I could even tell them to pause so I could snap a quick pic! Guess it all just looked too good. Also got two sides of fries to share - one Cajun and one Garlic. Both were perfectly fried with a light crisp - nothing soggy! We personally preferred the Cajun. Driving home from Petaluma, my wife and I decided we were hungry. She mentioned, someone at her work told her about this new burger place in Cotati that was outstanding. She asked if I wanted to give it a try. Sure, we were in the area...why not. We found Acme without any difficulty, next to Oliver's in Cotati. We walked in, I noticed you ordered at the counter. There was an extremely large menu board adjacent to the door. A pretty straightforward menu, choose your burger (or other...chicken, impossible burger, etc..) and your fixings. I chose a double (two 1/4lb patties), cheese and bacon. I was able to get tots w/ a "meal" combo. My wife got the onion rings. Fountain drinks were self serve. We found a high top table and sat down. There are two TVs inside, both playing sports. It looks like they still may be doing work on the inside. Not sure if exposed wood is the look they're going for. Hmm. I didn't have too long to figure it out, as our burgers were made fairly quickly. Wow, they were delicious. We both loved our burgers. Mine was hot and juicy, with the cheese oozing out the sides. A perfect kind of messy. My wife's onion rings looked tasty. My tots were a good alternative to the shoestring fries (both upcharges). This restaurant is overrated. The burgers are smaller than average and my kids don't like the seeded buns. I wanted to like the fish sandwich but it was too greasy and soggy. Worst of all is the long wait for our order even after ordering online, and still having to wait to pick it up for too long. They also forgot my daughter's milkshake and didn't seem to care when we had to go back for it. We may give them another try, but not very impressed after three visits. read more

Was not expecting such an amazing experience here. Stopped by randomly on our way back to the bay with our toddler for lunch. Adults got burgers and fries and our son got the grilled cheese and milk shake. We're pretty burger obsessed and we were super impressed by them! The fries were super tasty and eating my sons leftover grilled cheese was exciting too lol and the milk shake was SUCH a treat. It had been years since I ever had one and it was worth it. And I LOVE when a burger place offers pickles unconditionally. As pickle lovers, I love being able to have a pickle with every bite of my burger. Service was great, the space was nice and clean. During my stay in the area, my daughter wanted some burgers and found this spot. Right of the bat, this place would be a perfect restaurant to come during a perfect summer night to enjoy a great burger alongside a crisp beer in their outdoor patio. We came in the morning, and this place was pretty open both in and outside. The food: Me: I ordered their Sonoma burger and I added avocado and bacon. I wish the meat was cooked to medium rare instead of a well cooked beef patty. Consequently, the beef was a little dry but it was helped by the avocado. The burger itself was pretty good but the burger had portions that were way too salty. Both sides of the burger was kept together by two sesame-covered buns. I thought it was a little too much sesame seeds. The tater tots were great though! (4 stars) Daughter: We got her the burger kids meal and it was enough food for any child! Decided to try the Impossible burger. One of the POS (Point of Sale) registers had an issue so the line at lunch time backed up to the door. Luckily, I was 3rd in line with the one remaining order station open. Technology sucks sometimes so it's not the restaurants fault. There is both indoor seating and an outdoor patio. I ordered the Impossible burger to go with cheddar cheese (extra 50 cents for the cheese). It took about 15 minutes for my order at the pick up section. The burger surprisingly tasted very much like a regular burger. It's a 100% better than the Beyond burger which to me has a weird taste. The texture was much more closer to a regular burger than Beyond burger. It was fairly pink inside the patty and if you look at my picture, the outside of the patty is also pink. I would have preferred to have it cooked a little more. If you haven't tried the Impossible burger and are trying to cut back on red meat, go for it! read more

Decided to check out Acme Burger after reading a review. Very nice and inviting interior with an equally nice outdoor seating area. Nice and clean with order board on the wall as you enter. The young lady at the register was very nice and helpful and answered my questions. Ordered an Acme Burger and Shoestring fries. The total was very reasonable. They call out your number and you pick up your order at the counter. They have lots of condiments on the counter including garlic pickles and the usual items. The pickles are very mild tasting for pickles and the garlic was spicy. The shoestring fries were a large order. I tried the fries first and they definitely do not need any salt or pepper. Seasoned just a little over what I typically like but were crispy and good. Next, I tried the burger, first two bites nothing but bun, sauce and condiments. Next bite I started to get the burger. The burger overall was very good along with a nice bun that did not get soggy at all. I would eat there again but not make a special trip from Santa Rosa to get a burger but definitely worth a repeat in the future. read more

Acme Burger is a great addition to Cotati! When my BF and I were driving on E. Cotati we noticed the small signs for a new burger place. We decided to go right when it opened for the day and it's a decently sized place. The seating is bench style with shared seating but there are some smaller tables for smaller groups. They also have outdoor seating in the patio area that's going to be perfect for the summer time! They have a variety of burgers including beef from the Sonoma Valley Beef Company, turkey, chicken, tuna, cod, pork belly, and the impossible burger. All the burgers you can get either as a single or double and they have lettuce, tomato and "awesome sauce" (a thousand island-like sauce). They also have tons of topping to choose to add on to your burger if you like ($0.50-$1 extra). One thing that my BF likes is that they make their own pickles and other pickled vegetables. He liked to snack on them before we got our food. In the couple times we've been here we haven't waited long for our food. The burgers had good flavor and I like how fresh their buns are. My BF and I shared the fries for our meal and we've tried both the garlic and cajun. I personally like the garlic fries more but I wish that they would toss the fries in the garlic mixture and then top it rather than just top it (at least that's what it seems like to me). The cajun fries were too salty for my taste, but they were still a good flavor. Overall this place is a great addition and I wish them all the success in Cotati! read more

Late review. Hubby and I actually came here back in 2020. We stumbled upon the place after exploring the town for a day. Our order consisted of the Single Acme burger with pepper jack and tater tots and hubby got the single acme burger with Swiss with fries which we placed with cashier and you and e to wait for food to be picked up. They had masks on and outdoor patio with tables. Burgers were slapped together and meat needs to be seasoned and very messy kept falling apart. The tots and French fries were perfectly crispy and the only saving grace. High disappointed with our burgers and we love burgers! We would rate this burger a 1 out of 5 but the fries and tater tots were the bomb and we rank them 5. The place was ok not sure we would come back again if in the area but at least we gave them a try. read more

We found Acme burger right after it just opened and we love it since then! We get food from them at least once a month. Turkey burger is my favorite and I also love their vanilla milkshake. This place was poppin. I went here recently to grab a quick bite for dinner and it was quite a treat. Plenty of parking since the parking is shared with other businesses in the shopping center. I'm glad we got here when we did because there was a line all the way to the door after we ordered. I can tell the locals really enjoy this place I totally understand why. I always enjoy a good ole fashioned burger joint. This place reminds me of a cooler version of Fudruckers. Lots of room for seating inside, and lots of options for toppings to choose from on your burger. The staff is super nice and friendly. Right when you walk in there is a highly detailed menu that shows what you can get. I kept simple and got the Acme Burger with some chili fries and as was very impressed. The meat itself was juicy and sauce they used seemed like their take on some sort of In and Out sauce. It almost reminds me of a cross between Carls Jr and In and Out. But it's not super fast foody. It's just good. The chili also tasted homemade. If I lived in the area I definitely would be going to this place on the reg. It also just seems like a cool hang out place. If I lived in Cotati I just imagine and my friends coming here to hangin Middle School/High School. In any case, keep up the awesome work Acme Burger! read more

Definitely a place to go if your driving thru the area. We usually get a burger on our way home from camping, we Yelped For best Burger & Acme burger had the highest rating , so we set this place on Waze and arrived. I was expecting a Big Burger Joint in its own building but nevertheless don't let looks from the outside determine on what's happening on the inside. This truly was one of the better burgers we've ordered in some time. The fries were okay, and the Onion Rings were outstanding. The price point for the food we recieved was fair. Went to an Acme Burger joint for the first time. Ordered a single patty Acme Burger and asked to hold the tomato, lettuce, special sauce. My server at the counter was friendly and competent and added to the experience. I asked for an add on of carmelized onions thinking that they would be like onions off the grill. No such luck. The caramelizing tasted more burnt than sweet. Also their seasoned salt was a bit much for me. The bun and the burger and the service was great so I'm going to try again at the one here in Petaluma. If I'm in Cotati going to Oliver's I'm pretty sure I'll go for another Acme Burger either before or after! read more

Very solid, local burger spot with a great selection of craft beer and an excellent selection of toppings to choose from when customizing your burger. I've gone to Acme a handful of times now and after trying some specials and sides, have to recommend that you customize your own Acme burger to your liking. I made one with pepper jack, jalapeños, and sautéed onions with the regular fixings and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Seriously! On a previous visit I had a chorizo burger, which was a special, and it was just okay, but the patty was completely chorizo and not a burger patty with chorizo on top (which was what I had expected). No fault to Acme at all, but I recommend you look for the daily special (usually written down somewhere near the register) and make sure to read it and ask about it if you're uncertain! Otherwise, a decent sized patio with added spots outside make eating during COVID safer and easier, if you don't want to wait to go home. I don't think you can drink a beer out on their front patio, but it wasn't hard for me to find a table for one about out back when I visited during Saturday lunch about a month ago. read more

Five stars!? What? For me it's deserved for several reasons! 1. Service was totally friendly from start to finish. They have a "no problem!" attitude and it was appreciated by some of the picky ones in my group! 2. Prices were great! Having just spent $14 for a turkey burger at a different restaurant, I was surprised that this one was around $8 and it included avocado. (Granted the fries were separate but a split order was sufficient so maybe $2 more.) 3. The outdoor patio is covered and there are heaters available to make it even more comfortable. It had a really relaxed vibe when we were there. Many of the (appropriately distanced) tables were full and hey were cleaning them off between guests. 4. Food and drinks were alllll great! My beer was perfectly cold, hubby's fresh strawberry shake was creamy. He got the fried chicken sandwich and gave it a thumbs up! Chicken was not dry and crust was flavorful and crunchy. I got a turkey burger and it was delicious. It was a special and I can't remember the name so forgive me but it had lettuce and tomato, avocado mushrooms and this beautifully crafted garlic aïoli. It was so so good. We split an order of tater tots and couldn't even finish all of them. Their house made ranch was the perfect condiment to dip the fried potato bites. We just had the worst experience there. We came in for the special, we were told what was included but we were up-charged for what we thought was included. We asks for an explanation and were given attitude. We tried 3 times then cancelled the order and left. We talked to a few others who been there recently and they had similar experiences. I've only ever had takeout from here, but my family loved their menu. We have yet to order something we did not like!
