I recommend Ackerman Tree ! We were looking to have several trees trimmed and cleaned up. We first received a quote from another company before calling Ackerman. But when Paul Ackerman came , he pointed out that one tree close to the house was dead, even though leaves were still on one side of it. He showed us carpenters ants at the base of the tree which could have led to this tree needing to be cut down. He said that over time, the roots could be weak enough that the tree could fall on the house. The other company provided no instruction or advice. Paul's crew cut down this tree and ground out the stump as well. We have other trees in excess of 3 stories. His crew went to the top and did the best cleanup and trim work possible. Paul also educated us on maintenance and care on many other trees on our property. Paul was thorough, knowledgeable and his price was fair. The crew was prompt, friendly and efficient. They even cut 16 inch logs for us to use our fire pit. They did a great job of cleaning up around the entire property, as well. Will use them again, if needed ! read more

Ackerman Tree Specialists was referred to me by my landscaper. He said that he had even used them - and was very satisfied. I wrote to them on their website and within 1 hour they called me back to see when I would be around to review our yard and give me a quote. They came over within 1 hour of that call. They explained to me what they thought needed to be done (we have about 20 trees in our 1/2 acre yard) and gave me what I considered a very reasonable quote. We shook hands on the deal and he stated that they would call me and be out within 5 days. All of this happened on a Friday and they were in our yard first thing Monday morning with a crew of 5 guys. They worked great as a team and really made our yard look much better. They cleaned up very well - no complaints at all. In all - very timely/prompt, professional and thorough. We have a 35 year old locust tree in our yard which requires trimming every four to five years. We called a service that was highly recommended by some friends, but their price was way more than I recall paying in the past. I then decided to call the company that had trimmed our tree in the past but nobody ever called me to schedule an appointment. As fate would have it, last Thursday we found a small advertizement on our front door which introduced Ackerman Tree Specialists. We called and spoke to Mike. He came out 15 minutes later, accessed the job and gave us a very fair quote. The very next day, the Ackerman team came to our house, trimmed the tree and left no sign that they were there except for a beautifully trimmed tree. This is the second time we used Ackerman Tree. Both times we were highly satisfied. Mike came out the same day to give us an estimate. The crew were very professional and efficient. The first time they trimmed some large trees. The second time we had carpenter ants that were destroying our very large tree. Eventually it would have fallen down. Again the crew did an excellent job...even when they found a very large wasp or hornet nest in the upper branches. They got it down without "injury" to anyone. I give them a lot of credit for that!!! I wish we had known about this company a year ago, when we first started calling around to get our large tree, which had succumbed to ash borer, removed. Ackerman was great! They responded right away to my call (a real person even answers the phone!), came out the same evening to give me an estimate, were more than fair in their cost, stayed in touch about when they would come out to do the job, came when they said they would, and got the job done promptly, neatly, and thoroughly! Entered my request to have 3 large Evergreen's cut down last evening. They called back immediately and we arranged for someone to come out this morning at 9:00am to quote the job. They were here exactly as promised - quoted a great price - and came just before noon with all of their equipment and people. Job has been completed as I'm writing this just about 12:25pm. I can't believe how efficiently they worked to pull down 3 very large evergreens, grind out the stumps and roots and clean up. Ackerman Is great. We called for an estimate Friday to remove 5 large pine trees next to our patio. Mike came out in an hour and provided a very competitive quote. We accepted and they were back that afternoon to do the work and when they left everything was cleaned up like they had not been there. The next day they were working at the neighbors house next door. I have used Ackerman 2 times and both times I have been extremely pleased. First time was my home second time was a new business location. Mike bids and Paul does the work. Price was excellent equipment was great I have no complaints Paul came and did my second job in 1 day and all the other guys told me it would take 3 days. The negative remark on this site is B.S. which is why this whole site is Bullsh*t. Not enough people post when they are happy with the job done! I needed my tree trimmed and called Ackerman Tree Specialists. I had used them once before to cut down a tree. I spoke with Mike, who came out to give me an estimate less than two hours later. He said they could do it later in the week or early next week. That afternoon, his son and two other men arrived to do the work, much to my surprise! They did a great job and cleaned up very nicely. This Service was excellent. They quoted a fair price for tree removal and did the job promptly within a day or two from their initial consultation visit. I was also very impressed with the service of the removal crew. they took time to look at other issues with the other trees on the property and offered to help mitigate them for free. Worked with Mike on getting a diseased Ash tree down and an Apple tree. I also needed several stumps removed from mine and my neighbors yard. They were fast getting out to my home and completely cleaned up after themselves. Other than a dirt patch and a small amount of mulch you would have never known that they were there. Called for an estimate and Mike came out the next morning. I had three trees that i needed removed to install a fence and Mike looked at all of the trees on my property. He pointed out some ash trees and the ash borer holes that have infected one and killed another. The price was great for the five trees that eventually needed to come down. I recently had a fairly large job done in my backyard. The workers removed a tree and A LOT of over-grown bushes/plants etc. I am VERY IMPRESSED on how clean and organized they were. These guys are PRO! Removed my two trees in one day, one huge maple and one boxelder. They hauled away all debris, grind stumps, left back yard clean. They have right equipment for the job! And experienced workers. Although the trees where on my back yard, I didn't have to take apart my fence. Highly recommended people. With reasonable prices. Had a couple of big branches break high up on a tree by the house and land on our second story roof. Called Ackerman (refered by a friend.) They were in the area and made it out within a few hours. Ended up taking out a few more limbs that were questionable. They did a teriffic job, very conscientious, thorough and even cleaned up nicely. Would highly reccomend them without question. Excellent service at a reasonable price. They took down 2 large maple trees. Both trees were hanging into the neighbors yards. Not only was my property spotless when they left they made sure both neighbors properties were spotless as well. They even went on my neighbors roof and blew it off. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I called yesterday and they came the next day to cut down a very large pine tree, The work they did plus the cleanup was amazing. They gave us a very reasonable quote to cut down the tree, haul everything away and grind the stump.
