Seriously - I never thought I'd find myself writing a review for a vacuum store. But here I am. I don't think people understand the joy that comes with owning a vacuum cleaner that sucks everything up - all the time - year after year. I knew that feeling when my roommate bought a high end vacuum (a Miele...spelling?) a few years ago from Ace Vacuum. Fast forward a few years - and the crumbs are still on my carpet after the 3rd time vacuuming this week. Yep - that's a sign that its time to get a new vacuum. Bought - where to get one - should I run to Best Buy and decide between an 80 dollar vacuum that starts breaking in your hand or a 600 dollar dyson v7 whose battery lasts about 12.25 mins. A quick call to my SiL (sister in law...aka...my old roomie) and I'm on the phone with Ace Vacuum. Chris was great - he asked me questions to help triangulate what I should buy (how big is your place, how often do you vacuum, floor / carpet / throw rugs / dogs / etc.) and my price range. When I got there - he started off with a sweet vacuum. He did tell me it was a bit higher than I wanted to spend....but damn it was slick. It was all black, sleek, had a red light that told me how full the bag was. 1/2 way through his song and dance - I was already having day dreams about all the adventures I'd have fighting crime with my sleek black vacuum that reminded me of Kit (reference to Knight Rider) but alas it was not to be. After stepping out of my day dream - and talking to Chris some more - we ended up on a vacuum that was actually at the bottom of my range. It did everything that I wanted without any crazy bells and whistles. Chris didn't try to up sell me - he got me over the hump and I walked out of there with a new vacuum cleaner about 30 mins after I walked in. Don't expect to get your vacuum fixed in a timely manner or get a notification as to the problem. I had to call the Leesburg location to find out what was wrong after they had my vacuum, they lied they left a message but that due to no notification the vacuum would be moved to the front and that it would be done by Wednesday. That was a Monday I spoke with a person, no call Wednesday saying they were delayed or had a problem. Call them on a Friday and nobody's available to fix it and it will be 2 more days maybe or I can pick it up if not done. NOT A GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE Practice. This not the first time I had vacuums service but it will be the last!!! read more

12/10/24 Update: Upgrading to 3-star. Kevin, the manager, reached out almost immediately after I'd posted the below review, so they're clearly closely watching feedback. I appreciate that he was polite, seemed to sincerely want a do-over, and was much more responsive than his Friday rep (who was faulted for being "new"). I brought the vac back and left it with Kevin and his tech for a few hours after reproducing the problem a second time at the store with him. When I was called back, I was told that my vacuum has a problem that nobody at Ace had ever seen before. Kevin offered me the hose and motorized head off of his floor model - both in worse shape than my own - as replacements since they were known to work. I did not want used, more worn, and possibly more aged parts than my own as replacements, but I agreed to take them home and experiment with them at our next whole-house cleaning to see if I could isolate where the failure was occurring (hose, extension, or head). On the way home, I realized I'd forgotten my original motorized head so went back to pick it up, only to find someone had attached it to one of Ace's floor models for their use as if it was their own. Excuse me?!? Some brief testing at home, and my unit now seems to work both with and without Ace's used hardware, so perhaps disassembling and reassembling the unit twice addressed whatever the problem was. I'm going to trial it next weekend when we do our whole-house cleaning and hopefully just return Ace's used hardware and call it a wash. read more

I stopped in to have a repair on my vacuum part and Kevin immediately took a look at it, went to the back room and a few minutes later came back with the part repaired. He was extremely personable and wanted to make sure I was taken care of and ready to assist with anything else I may need. I brought three different Miele vacuums into the Ace Vacuums in Leesburg recently (June 2023) and had excellent customer service each time. Two of the vacuums I brought in just the canisters to have them inspected & cleaned. They charged me $79.99 for each vacuum and had them ready the next day. The third Miele canister needed a new bag assembly and the button on the top didn't pop open the attachment storage area. Both issues were fixed for $49.99 and I got a call back to pick it up within the week as promised. Since they had to order the replacement part for the bag assembly, I had to pay the full cost of the repair up front. I was very happy to have a fully functional vacuum. read more

Bought a vacuum in-store on Jan 11. It was supposed to come in in a few days. I called every week after that and they kept telling me it hadn't come in yet and would just be a few more days. Started calling every day and every day was told it would just be another day or two and they would give me a call. I finally came back in on Feb 4 and asked for a refund, since I didn't want to deal with a company that seemed to be a mess. Was granted the refund and was told that it would go back on my credit card within a few days. Called every week after that, as the refund never appeared on my credit card. The company didn't answer my emails. Finally had to report the transaction to my credit card company for them to arbitrate. I lost the vacuum I traded in to get my new vacuum that never arrived and It's been two months of inconvenience and stress dealing with this company for nothing. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service! I purchased a crosswave max online from this company. First, they advertised a bundle and when I finally received my order two weeks later it was missing pieces of my bundle. Second, the vacuum was defective. I called Bissell to troubleshoot and they told me I had to return my product to ace Vacuums. I called ace vacuums and they said they will reach out to Bissell and call me back and if anything I'll get a replacement. It has now been two weeks I have called, emailed ace vacuums and no answer or response. I have put a dispute with my credit card company, hopefully I get my money back! I took my Bissel Crosswave vaccuum to this dealer because Bissell recommended them as a recall service provider. To emphasize, Bissell themselves, recommended them to me. My equipment was recalled due to being at risk for catching fire. I followed the instructions per Bissell website and took my unit to Ace to be repaired. The refused to accept my machine because I didn't have proof of purchase, even though my product has been registered with Bissell since 2020. I had to provide proof of purchase when I registered the product with Bissell. This shop that was recommended gave me the run around and made it impossible to get the machine repaired as recommended by Bissell. This is probably because they get almost no money from and unless they can gouge me, they essentially refuse the business. read more

I've been a customer of Ace Vacuums for about ten years. They repaired my Dyson and Kenmore vacuums and did a good job. They sell high end Miele vacuums which so far seem to be more reliable than the Dyson and Kenmore. You get what you pay for I guess. Here is a tip though... Don't waste your money on a Dyson! They work great when new but are fragile. Just take a look at how many Dysons come in for repair. If you have the money, upgrade to a Miele instead. I bought a Riccar home carpet steam cleaner from there years ago and took it in for service because it lost suction. Unfortunately the parts were no longer available from Riccar. I was so disappointed that my only recourse was to buy a new one. But this is when the sales associate gave me a killer discount on the new model! I was blown away at that kind gesture. This showed me that they still have that small community business mindset that cares about their customers. I'm definitely going to continue to be a loyal customer to Ace because of consistently good experiences. read more

I purchased (3) filters for my Electrolux air cleaner on Dec. 17th and payment was taken immediately for $152.97. I NEVER RECEIVED MY FILTERS. Not only did I not receive my paid for items, the company has not responded to any of my emails, chats & voice mail on the status of my order. This is the worst customer experience I've had. This place sold me a refurbished vacuum said to be "better than new" which almost immediately after purchase needed repair. Although they've supposedly worked on it several times it's never run right. I've been to these guys one other time before, and both times have been excellent experiences. My contact was Jason Bazensky. I don't understand why Ace Vacuums has such a low rating on here. Very few people in life understand good customer service. Meanwhile these guys over service the time educating me as to why my upright was experiencing the issues I was having and quickly diagnosed the mechanical failure . A rarity in my book. Most establishments would have tried to sell me something new, or what I don't need. Jason never tried to up-sell me and the turnaround on the repair was lightening fast and only took a couple of days which included the weekend. If you need a vacuum or repair, these are your guys. I've been to Ace Vacuums in Leesburg twice for repairs and once to purchase a vacuum. I was VERY happy with their repair service. After they serviced my vacuum, it ran like it was brand new. I couldn't believe it since it was almost ten years old! I later went back and bought a vacuum for my office from them and it was exactly what we needed. The sewing machine I recently brought in was having a problem feeding material thru and I was told it could take up to two weeks. To my surprise, they called me the same day and it was finished. Not only did they fix the problem, but they cleaned the insides, put in a new needle, and gave it a tune-up. Runs like a dream now! read more

My wife and I brought in a vacuum cleaner that apparently needed some major cleaning. The vacuum is only used for our office so I did not want to put in a lot of money into repair. Jaz, the gentleman who took care of us, never tried to upsell us or talk us into a cleaner. He said he would clean it and replace some parts. When we went to pick it up he only charged us for the cleaning. He took it upon himself to replace a roller. The vacuum is working like a brand new one. I can not overemphasize how cordial and professional they were. I would absolutely bring our cleaners to them in the future for repair. I will also keep them in mind for any new purchases. Avoid this shop at all costs! Awful experience with my Miele vacuum at the Leesburg shop. Dropped it off two weeks ago for a problem with the power head. First of all, Kayla promised she'd call that afternoon with an update. No call until two days later. First strike. When I finally called her, she said my power head needed to be replaced and a general tune up completed. I authorized and the power head was apparently ordered. She promised to send me tracking info. I did not receive. Second strike. I called a week later to arrange for pickup of my vacuum, without the power head. Technician told me the tune up had not been completed. Spoke with the manager who said it had been completed. But no one had called me to let me know. Third strike. Manager assured me Kayla would send me an update on the status of my ordered power head. I never received an update. Fourth strike. Kayla and manager (Kevin?) both verbally promised the power head would arrive to my house on Tuesday via UPS. It's now Tuesday (two weeks after dropping off my vacuum to their shop) and UPS just made a delivery. No power head. Fifth strike. I called the shop to inquire and got disconnected FOUR TIMES while speaking with Kayla. She promised to send tracking info via text and email. I've received neither. Sixth strike, and I still don't have my power head or any tracking info or any communication from the shop. read more

Just like the other poor reviews in their Vienna and Ashburn locations, this location follows right behind them. Their customer service is horrible! I will not go into whole detail but just plain and simple, they truly lack customer service skills. They really don't keep in touch with you in regards to the status of your vacuum. We constantly had to call them and kept getting different time frames of when our vacuum would be ready. Unfortunately, I have to rate this in order for my review to be posted, so I give it one star. If you are looking for vacuum repair go somewhere else. Owner's side business takes too much time from vacuum customers. Always have to wait too long. Brought vacuum in for repair and without doing diagnostic I was told it needs a new motor. I paid $150 and when I picked it up at was not fixed. Brought it back again and got the runaround in getting it fixed. I was originally told, when I brought it back, that I would not pay to have it fixed again. When I checked on the progress there was no record in my account and when they found my vacuum they wanted to charge me for the repair. Employees don't know what the other employees promised and vacuum was still NOT REPAIRED. So disappointed. read more

I usually never write reviews, but he's helped me get my central vacuum fixed in no time. I went-in expecting to be either told to buy a new vacuum or new central vacuum unit. Instead, he guided us in getting the fix we needed for our central vacuum unit. Best of all, he never once hinted on selling me a new vacuum instead he provided daily updates on parts and where they were with the fix. They even went as far as give me a loaner for time it was out. I got say, I was expecting a big bill, but I'm happy with my fix on central vacuum. Ace vacuum might be my favorite vacuum store if I can get my carpet cleaning vac back! Apparently, my carpet vac is in some warehouse-like black hole because they have been trying for almost a year to find it. I even have the claim tag and tag number given to me last year but they still cant find it. However, because I did not reclaim my vacuum in April 2021-I brought it in in February 2021 and moved in March and April 2021-and, yes, 30 days over the 30 day mark for keeping vacuums, they don't seem to be able to find it. In January, the whole issue was turned over to an assistant manager, Kayla. She and I sat down over our computers and found a replica of mine online to help guide their search visually. And, I've sent 3 emails since to no avail. This, on top of almost a year of stopping in to pick it up from the next salesperson who is going to tell me it isn't there, is just plain rude and unbusiness-like! No one has called me back and my carpet vac seems to be lost in a warehouse somewhere. Mind you, I still have my claim ticket! I want my vac back! read more

MUST READ: I went to this store to purchase a vacuum. I purchased a canister and they said they would give me $20 off the price if I gave them a 5 star rating, so I did. I got home and unfortunately the vacuum head would not go under my dresser in my bedroom because it's very low to the ground (~2 inches). Anyway, I took it back 5 days after purchasing it and the guy talked me into a new attachment. Took it home and that was still too tall and would not fit under my dresser. The other thing I didn't like was that the head would swivel which would be fine but when you vacuumed under a chair or something it would be straight and not across which made it very difficult to vacuum. Anyway, I took it back again but it was 2 weeks after purchase and they would not give me a refund, they said that the receipt tells you (in small writing) that in order to get a full refund you need to return within 7 days or you pay a 25% restocking fee. I did take it back within 7 days originally but was talked into a new part. I was very upset to return the vacuum and have to pay a 25% restocking fee. Definitely not customer friendly!!!! read more

I brought my old vacuum into the Leesburg location to have it repaired. I mentioned to Chris that I am 43 years old and never had a decent vacuum. He showed me several different options and did not pressure me. I left and called him several different times and asked questions over the next 2 weeks. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He patiently went over my needs and the helped me picked the right cleaner. He was great to work with and worked with me to find a Miehle that helps to keep our house clean!!! I wish I could give this business 0 stars. I've spent over 5 months trying to be compensated for a machine that was lost while in their care. I've even had to take them to court and they STILL haven't compensated me for a $600 machine that was lost. As a consumer I'm appalled at the way they conduct business. I don't understand how they lost the rug cleaner I dropped off but also realize that accidents happen. Why I would NOT recommend this business is how they conducted themselves after they admitted that they couldn't find the machine that I left for repair. You would hope that an ethical business owner would correct the mistake but this wasn't the case. To date, even with a judge ruling in my favor, I haven't been compensated. This is not a business I would recommend to anyone. ZERO Stars...absolutely zero stars. Came in for a belt and roller for a vacuum and they tried selling me a $600.00 vacuum. Told them I am not interested and wanted to walk away since they didn't even have the roller in stock at this store. The manager told me they'll bring it into this store the next day from the store in Vienna. I said, I'll come back next day but he assured me that he'll cal me as soon as the roller came in, and that he will have it in by 11 next day. Needless to say, he took the order, had me pay for it but I never got a call next day. When I called, I was told the sales rep was "with another customer" and that the other manager was on his way with my roller. Long story short, they are willing to take your money for a part/item that they DONT have in stock, but neglect calling the customer when the part does arrive. He went over all the features of the product with me in great detail and allowed me to take apart their in-store unit to understand how to change the various filters when the time comes. He also explained to me the vacuum repair services offered and I am excited to come back to Ace Vacuums to get my vacuum serviced in the near future. The staff was knowledgeable and efficient; George knew exactly what was required and had it drawn from stock before even getting the complete model number of the vacuum. The day we went in to purchase our vacuum, the manager was taking a rare day off since it was his birthday. The person who was there did his best, but couldn't answer all of our questions. So, he called the manager who spent a lot of time on the phone with us, and, from memory, knew everything about the vacuum we were looking at. I cannot praise Jay at the Ace Vacuums Store in Leesburg, VA enough. I needed a small replacement inlet hose for my vintage Eureka vacuum and he identified the part number I needed. When he learned I was not able to get there soon to buy the part he even offered to bring it to me as a curtesy since it was on his way. I was amazed at this unbelievable helpful offer and still thank him for that effort to help me. It was not an expensive item, less than $10 but he still made the effort. I will recommend him to all. I took 2 Miele's to be repaired, both motors needed replacing. I was told the repair would take a week or two because their parts supplier was not reliable, and while I was in the shop, an irate customer called about a repair that was over due. Apparently, the owner had had some health problems, as well as a slow parts supplier, but I decided to go ahead with the repair anyway because the labor charge was $29. It took over 3 1/2 weeks, one vacuum motor was replaceable, the other discontinued. When I went to collect the vacuums, I was told the one with the irreplaceable motor was "A piece of crap" and had been thrown away. I told the owner he would have to pay its value for parts, and he quickly produced the machine. The vacuum with the replaced motor is so weak, it no longer turns the beater brush... I suspect the replacement was not the same as the original motor. Of course, their solution is to buy a new machine. My solution is to drive another 20 miles to find an honest dealer. read more
