This is my favorite Ace location in the area. It is bigger than the other stores and is much better organized. As Raquel mentioned, the garden center is larger than most, and I love that they often have racks and racks of flowers and plants out in front of the store to advertise their large offering in the garden department. The staff here is friendly without being pushy (which is definitely different than some other Ace stores). You know when you enter to the hardware store you always want to find whatever you are looking for I soon as possible. However many stores are very confusing and it's really hard to find something. Ace hardware is not like that. They have many variety of choices of different kinds of materials that you will need for remodeling or just your garden. They have some of the lumber like 2 x 4 x 8 they also have a lot of rough material for plumbing. They also have a lot of rough electrical material and also finish the parking lot is pretty big. Window repair screen: $11.00 Window repair supplies: $74.35 Repair labor $34.10 TOTAL $119.45 I was quite excited to bring our screen door to your store in New Hope, especially after hearing good things about your service, etc. This has not been a happy experience. After picking up the screen, I noticed a big rubber (not sure what to call it) flange? which was threaded on the entire left side of the door. Not something we had had on this door...ever. First, it was almost impossible to install repaired door. The wheels would not depress enough to make it fit in the runner. My husband & I worked on it for an hour and finally gave up. Then I sprayed WD-40 on runners and wheels and it finally fit...but VERY tightly. I could barely slide the door, and the one thing I had loved about the door prior to taking it to Frattallone's was that I could slide it with one finger and it moved like it was on butter. I finally removed the long rubber strip and the door slides better (but not easily, like it did before we brought it to you.) This was not what we expected from FRATTALLONE'S. I can return the rubber strip if you want it back. Is that what cost us $74.35??? What supplies did you have to buy to reach that amount, plus the labor to slide it on the door must have taken a long time...remember we did not ask for or want a big cumbersome strip which prevented us from sliding the door!!! I was working on a gas appliance hook up project. The employees were extremely helpful and knew what they were talking about. I had to make a return trip the next day and the same experience. The only reason I voted 4 stars instead of 5 is because when I had to do an exchange, The gentlemen that appeared to be a manager was not treating his employee ringing me out very well. It was apparent the employee needed help with the process, and although the manager helped him, he was very condecending to the checkout employee. Kinda rude in front of a customer. I felt bad for the check out employee. You could tell the manger made him nervous. read more

Great little neighborhood hardware store focused on serving the local community and providing the best customer service. After moving to the area, we've frequented Frattallone's several times for various needs from light bulbs and nails to flashlights and bug spray. It's super clean and the service is friendly and helpful. They have a lot of items in stock, yet it doesn't feel cluttered like some other local hardware stores I've been in. Plus, a friendly staff member will readily help you find what you're looking for. You'll pay a bit more here vs. a big box hardware store, but you're paying for the ease and simplicity of it being right in your 'hood and a speedy visit that will get you in and out in a matter of minutes. Well worth it. They also feature a garden center where I purchased a patio tomato plant for our deck. Ask for Al in the garden center. He's super helpful, had great suggestions for my needs (and that DIDN'T entail buying additional items, but using what I already had instead) and will remind you of your beloved grandpa. Oh, and by the way, the tomato plant is going crazy with tomatoes everywhere. This is in the same small strip mall as Fat Nat's, Bruegger's Bagels, Frankie's Pizza and Winnetka Liquor, so easy to consolidate several needs into one trip. read more

I go here a lot; I have for years. I absolutely love having a Mini-Menards so close to my business. They aren't always the cheapest, however the staff makes up for it. Always SUPER nice and really knowledgeable. If you're not an expert at fixing things, just go talk to anyone there and they can help you figure it out. read more
