I stopped by this Ace hardware on my way back from Cummings. I've been looking for a product made by Rebel Yell called P-eliminator which my local Ace was out of. Since I had some time to kill I figure I will just stop in to see if they have anything of that sort. Apparently the store has been around since 1918 and there are three of them. One on Highway 20 and one on Hammond Industrial. The trio are dubbed the "Forsyth Hardware" The store is pretty big and got a big lot for plenty of parking. I wasn't in the store but about 10 seconds when a nice sales person walked up to me and offered to help. I told him what I was looking for and he said he knew exactly what I was talking about. But for some reason their store didn't carry it. He then looked in their warehouse computer system and realized they didn't have it. He was very helpful and even offered to see if he could order it from somewhere else for me...super cool. Even though I wasn't able to get what I came in for I left with a positive impression because the people were so nice and helpful which I really appreciate. Definitively next time I am in the area and need something related to hardware. I will hit up these guys. Thanks for a great experience. read more

If there was a way to rate lower I would. Brought my chainsaw in that was under warranty for not running. They claimed there was no gas in it so that's why it wasn't running. I had put gas in it the exact day I brought it to them. They did this to say it wasn't under the warranty charged me 50 bucks and kept it three weeks. Rip off. The guys at this store are what make a hardware store fun to come to. The manager, Steve, rubs a great staff that are highly capable of helping out with the simplest of projects and are savvy enough to aid in something a little more complex. The most memorable of my experiences however was when they hooked me up with a Kamado Joe. Bob knew the history of the company which was fun to listen to him share. I pay higher Ace prices because sometimes I need help from "the helpful hardware man", as their commercials say. But when I needed a gate valve urgently and brought in the fittings and stem of my broken one (the body was still sweated onto my copper plumbing) they were not helpful in the least. I just wanted to find a new valve so I could swap out the guts and not have to call a plumber. I just wanted to see if the threads would match with the valves they had in the store and if so I would be more than happy to buy the whole valve. But rather than let me check to see if the threads matched, which would have simply involved unscrewing the guts of the valve, the "helpful hardware man" told me I'd have to buy the valve first. When I asked if I could borrow a wrench to unscrew the guts the "helpful hardware man" said I'd have to buy the wrench first. At that point I said "OK, I'll go to Home Depot" and walked out. In the past I've been helped with technical information and selecting the right parts by certain employees of this store but things seem to have changed here. I know they have a tool box and could easily have lent me a wrench. Guess the "helpful hardware man" has moved on. read more

The worst service from a cocky little kid who didn't know crap. Never coming back here again

I've been taking my mowers and small power equipment here for years. I wasn't always a fan, but they were reliable enough. Today, that changed! I have a small electric chainsaw and the chain slipped off. I could NOT get that sucker back on. Took three or four runs at it and finally gave up. Took it down there to them today and figured I'd have to leave it for a week or more for them to get to it. NOPE! Knocked it out and like five minutes and sent me on my way for no charge! Tim put the chain back on and gave me a couple of tips on how to make sure it's taken care of. Thanks guys! read more

In the past I had small engine repair work and it was done in a reasonable time and a fair price. Over two weeks ago drop my mower off at the nearest Ace Hardware store near me, which is sent to their Midway store. They mentioned it would take two weeks, which seemed fair considering the time of year. Last Monday I inquired about the status. I was told another week to week and a half. A couple of hours later I called and told them to forget about the repair and send the mower back as I really need it. I was told it would be sent back the next morning and be available in the afternoon. I went to the local Ace Hardware store hoping to pick up my mower the next day. They didn't have it and there was no delivery from the Midway store. They said they would call when its returned. Here it is another day and still no call. I even sent an email to the store manage. No response. I like going to my local Ace Hardware since they are close, convenient and always had good service. However, I'm extremely disappointment with the service I've been getting and doubt I'll ever use their service again. read more

I've been here a few times over the past few months for paint and supplies and have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Excellent service provided by the ace hardware team today. I was there to just buy a set of screws which is like small ticket item but the team helped me with right size and also advised what was wrong with my furniture part and how I could get that corrected. In the end all of their recommendations worked and my piece of furniture is assembled today. I just left Ace Hardware Midway in Alpharetta, GA 30004. I walked in to refill two 5 gallon propane tanks we use for our grill. Total price of this was $38!!!! Price of propane per gallon in the state of GA is roughly $2.30 per gallon. The price per gallon in this store is $5 per gallon!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. Average price to REFILL a 5 gallon tank is $8. This is price gouging due to coronavirus. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE. read more

I live in the area and am continually impressed with the customer service provided by this Ace Hardware. The employees are extremely courteous and knowledgeable about many different types of home improvement, maintenance and construction topics. I have never gone away from this store anything but impressed and satisfied. I avoid Big Box Hardware stores where you almost have to scream from an aisle intersection to hope to get an employee's attention, and then they just play with their inventory hand-held device or call someone else for help until I get too frustrated and just leave..... read more

Wow did that new ownership enthusiasm and control burn out quickly. My wife and I loved the new owners and store back when it first opened. We spent thousands, and they did right by us with each purchase. Lately however: I have noticed a lack of customer attentiveness. I hope it gets back to the way it was. The way it is, is the way it was before the new owners. I walked out laughing internally thinking its a do it yourself store, in another context. had a saw in the shop for warranty work. when I dropped it off I told them about two problems and I said they should be covered under warranty. they said, ok, probably next week. I called after the first week, they said they would call be back monday, never did. 2 weeks later they called me to tell me they fixed the problem, I said both problems and under warranty? they said, we only new about the one problem and it wouldn't be covered by warranty. got in touch with saw manufacturer they assured me it would be covered under warranty. long story short I called every week for a while, same story, call you back monday. never got a call. finally got it back after about 2 months. complained about losing money on it fine, but at least call back when you say you will. they said "Have Fun" , not thanks sorry it took song or that we never called you back when we said we would. read more

After my cheaper Home Depot chain saw finally died, I treated myself to an upgrade to Stihl. I went to Midway, and discussed the various models, deciding on the 271 model with 20" bar. I also purchased a spare 20" chain; and two cans of Stihl Ethanol-free fuel, which doubled my product warranty to 2 years. it came fully assembled, they fueled it, put in bar oil, test started it, and sent me on my happy way. I really didn't even think too much about the unit, which came right off the shelf, but went to work cutting 30 minutes later. Several hours later, I decided to change to the backup chain, and that is when I came to understand that the floor model was not a 20" bar! The new chain was vastly larger than the old. I took it back, and spoke to the manager....he never batted an eye on the fact that the bar was now worn, and the first chain dull -- he took it to the shop and replaced it with a correct 20" bar and a brand new 20" chain. Later he stated he was puzzled, because they don't even ORDER the 271 in anything other than a 20" bar....so this one must have been mis-delivered to their store. None-the-less, A1 Excellent customer service in making the product right. I'll definitely shop here in the future, and not just for Stihl products. read more

I have been going to this Ace for many years. Have spent much there. Painted my entire house with their Ben Moore Paint. It was at first real good when the new owner bought the store. Now : H... will freeze over and the moon will turn blood red before I go back. I bought a stihill chain saw there and they have repaired it with no problem. Sent my wife in there a couple of weeks ago to buy some interior semi-gloss Benjamin Moore paint. Took of the painted trim because I could not find the can. She took the trim in and they were not able to duplicate the white. She told them it was Ben Moore paint bought at their store and they never even attempted to scan it to mix paint. I am not even sure it was not even mixed when I bought it . It was simple white. This morning I went to buy a new power head for my Weed eater, tiller, edger etc. Wanted to buy a stihl. The manager did not know if it would fit. Went next door to repair shop and guys inside said the small one may fit. Went back in and it would fit but I asked if we to be sure could we take it to their repair shop inside their building. In the most condescending voice he said " you saw where it fit " It was locked up witha chain and this guy who was the manager did not even care to make an extra effort to make sure. It was 219.00 dollars and I think he just did not care to bother himself. This is the first time in my life I have felt the need to write a bad report. They are very rude and that is the culture of that store. Culture of a work place starts with the owner . It filters down to the employees. Horrible place to spend my money or time read more
