Extremely overdue for some fresh mulch in our front garden bed and for the base of our beautiful pink dogwood tree that has bloomed for Spring. I do find prices here can feel a bit steep compared to other garden centers but there's just something about Pike's that does it for me! I think it's some nostalgia mixed in there too from the many trips I took with my mom growing up and helping her plant for each new season. Pike Nurseries are just the best - especially for poinsettias. I am writing this on April 15 and I just photographed one of the poinsettias I purchased 5 months ago in late November of 2024 From the Cumming store. As the photo depicts, this poinsettia still looks fabulous. I can't express how much joy these poinsettias brought to our family over the winter months. I've never seen such huge, glorious pointsettias. Gigi and the manager of the Cummings store helped me with my pre-order and pick up. The poinsettia was very reasonably priced for its size - I recall something in the low the 30.00 price range. All the pointsettias I purchased did extremely well. They lost very few leaves. I so much appreciate everyone's hard work, professionalism and over the top products at reasonable prices. i know of no other retailers or wholesalers who provide the community with comparable products. I tried shopping for garden vegetable plants (tomatoes, bell peppers & basil) at Pike Nursery on Bethelview in Cumming for the past 2 years - Spring of 2022 & 2023. And both times, I was unable to find a single sales person on the floor in the greenhouse garden to help me. Judging by other comments, I note that the sales staff, which stays in the front of the store, seems to cater to those wanting decorative plants & other decorative things, but not much help in vegetable gardening. Healthy and amazingly beautiful plants. I dont buy them anywhere else. Even their seed selection is enormous and always well stocked. They also have a guarantee and i just leave the tag on the plant for the first year and if there is an issue they gladly replace it. They will special order thinges for your garden and the staff is great with recommendations as they are all green thumb gardening enthusiast themselves. First off, they don't close at 9pm like yelp says. They close at 8pm. The people here either don't care or aren't knowledgeable at all and try to blow smoke up your rear just to shut you up and to get you to stop asking questions. I will not be back. read more

I have had some great experiences with Pike in Cumming. Used to shop at BH and 2 in Roswell for years. Best service at BH but smallest location. Never had a problem returning any shrub that died and I too spent $ thousands through the years, We just moved North and I have been to this Pikes on Bethelview Rd 5 or 6 times last fall and twice this Spring. Extremely helpful, more staff than customers, very knowledgable. Very limited with what we can plant due to the tremendous deer population. I plan on being a regular there. I had such a wonderful experience. I have no knowledge when it comes to plants but needed to find something for my mom. I was handed off to a fabulous young lady. I think her name was Richa. She was so knowledgeable, kind and patient. Although the store was crazy busy on a Saturday, she made me feel like I was the only one there. I got plants for my mom and me!!! I will never shop at this Pike again. The lady at the register was rude and so was the woman manager - they both work on Sunday. I paid a fortune for a bunch of plants from them last summer - I also paid to have them install the plants. They said not only were the plants guaranteed but because they were planting them - the trees and shrubs were guaranteed for life. WELL THAT IS NOT TRUE!!! All the plants are fine with the exception of the two most expensive ($150 each) - they have both died and they replaced them again. So all was good. But then one of them started to die within 2 months again! I went in today to ask them to either replace it again or possibly change the type of plant because it's obviously not working. Both girls were very snotty and said they were only guaranteed to be replaced once. So sorry - I'm out of luck and out of $150 dollars. I told her that made no sense and that I paid a lot of money for their supposed high quality plants. She said nope sorry - that is their policy! What a joke. I will never shop there again and I will tell everyone in my neighborhood how bad the service is. Thank you for working with your customer to find a fair solution. NOT. Update on 4/3/17: I was asked for my phone number by someone from Pike the day after I left my initial review. She requested it through the yelp app and said her regional manager would be contacting me to discuss my issues. As of today - no one has called me. I'm very disappointed because I really did think they were more customer focused than this. Obviously not. This past weekend I pulled out the dead PIKE (very expensive) plants and replaced them with plants from Home Depot (1/3 of the cost by the way). I'll keep everyone updated on how they do in my yard. Well... I can see where the 2 stars come from. Tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but wow the manager did not provide good service. Who made you a manager? She saw me coming up to her and ignored me when I came up to ask for assistance. I had to say "Excuse me" 3 times before she frustratedly dropped what she was doing to acknowledge my presence. I was looking for a specific type of plant table. Before I could even describe what I was looking for, she took off in a fast pace walking around the entire store showing me every single table they had on the floor. I didn't come here to chase you, I came here to see if your business carried a product I have been searching for. I did find what I was looking for after she gave me the, "Sorry, that's all we have speech and took off," but I wasn't going to spend that kind of money on it. $50 for a small table worth like $10. The prices here are roughly three times the cost of other nurseries or other stores. A $3 tomato cage at Home Depot, is $10 here. I wish I could support this business instead of the larger corporate stores, but the service is the same and the prices are higher here. read more

CHANGE FOR THE BETTER! This is obviously not the same Pike that many people are speaking of in some of the earlier reviews. Today as my husband and I visited, we experienced great customer service at all times, (on the floor and at the register). We were able to find some really nice, healthy plants for our garden and were really impressed with their overall selection of pots and plants. We usually visit the John's Creek location on State Bridge Rd but this was is larger, better stocked and better staffed. I can't believe that I waited so long to try this location. I really appreciate the obvious men's and ladies room that is off the main floor, next to the water fountain. This store is an example of why updated reviews are so important. I always appreciate positive change and when it happens I want to hear about it and it is important for others to hear as well so that they can once again support the business. I do hope that previous reviewers will give them another chance to win their business because they are obviously making an effort to improve services. Very disappointed with this "local" company. This year alone I have spent over $900 on plants from Pikes, their lifetime guarantee dose not cover the $99 palm trees. After following their guidance on care and watering instructions the plant that I purchased only four months ago they are not willing to replace. We came here to buy one of the large 18" glazed potts to put some yard art in on the new patio. We found a very large selection of pottery,and I LOVED walking through the greenhouses looking at all the flowers, Coming from working at John Deere Landscapes, Pikes was my biggest competitor and I felt a little like I was cheating on JDL but we had a gift certificate, and we were in the area :) They had such a beatiful selection of different glazes on potts and sizes and a really really nice selection of plants. we chose a hugemongo poo and 2 employees were super friendly and helpful to get it for us and bring it to the front while we selected some winter flowers to go in the new addition:) We got some Swiss Charr, and Snapdragons, and Violas, Pretty colors and healthy plants. One thing i did notice were alot of the plants were really dry. and I know its winter and cold... but they still needed to be watered asap. So we went ahead and checked out, the boys got paper and carefully loaded the pot into the car, and we were off. Spent a good hour there looking at everything they had to offer, I appreciate that for the cost of the materials they do offer a warranty replacement for the plants ( something JDL doesnt do) and had a really nice selection of plants :) read more

I purchased 4 trees and couldn't be more DISSATISFIED. After visiting the store with photos, and after the store manager visited my home to get a first hand look, and after numerous email follow ups, I haven't had a word back from them. I was promised replacements, but am still waiting after more than 6 months. At this point, I wouldn't consider replacements, the quality is poor. So much for their guarantee. Just want to say my hat's off to Pike Nursery on Bethelview Road. For the safety of customers and staff during the difficult coronavirus situation, they are operating a plant and materials "pick-up" program. You can order what you want online and someone will call you back to let you know if your requested items are available. I needed an olive tree and a bay laurel, plus terra-cotta pots and planting medium for them. They called when they said they would and then selected two gorgeous specimens for me. They had them ready to drive up and place them in my vehicle early the next day. Cole was super helpful answering my questions on the phone and Alex helped me with loading up and some additional questions I had. So happy to have this Pike Nursery near my home for my gardening needs. read more

I was shocked at the lack of assistance I received at this location on 4/20/2013. I came to a nursery to receive some expert advise that I can't get at a home improvement store. No employees spoke to me, none ask to assist me and I looked lost. I had to chase down two employees that barely acknowledged me. I was just looking for an aloe plant. The first man told me to go to where the cactus are sold and went back to his work. One woman told me the same but at least pointed in the direction of the cactus and walked away. I saw almost every other customer get a smile, approached and asked if they needed help, what kind of plants where they looking for, and then walked to the location. I will NEVER go back to any of these nurseries, I am obviously not a customer they want to see and help. read more

We purchased a dogwood in a 30 gallon container. We also purchased their landscaping service for delivering and planting the tree for us. The tree was not planted correctly and was leaning over slightly. We called to have them come out again and we suggested they use stakes to secure the tree. They came out and simply move (or attempted to) upright the tree by hand. They left us a note they had stopped by and didn't think providing stakes was necessary. Now the tree leans over much more. We called Pikes two days ago to complain and said they would look into it. No return calls. We like Pikes because of the selection however after this I'm not sure we'll be returning. I highly recommend to anyone NEVER to use their installation services as it is too expensive for what little service and support you get. read more

I had an excellent experience at this Pike today. The customer service, while not stellar, was pretty good. The cashier really seemed to know her stuff and was able to recommend a few things I needed that I didn't realize I needed. This helped make it so that I think I will be better able to get the blueberry bushes that I purchased today going soon. The selection of plants was good, although one of the particular varieties of blueberry for which I was looking wasn't available. The biggest problems I would have were the fact that the place seemed poorly laid out, and there was no apparent rhyme or reason to the placement of the various plants. Overall, however, I think it was well worth the trip. read more

My mother and I signed up for the terrarium class at this location weeks in advance, woke up early Saturday morning got there in advance waited while we were instructed on how to build our terrarium only to find out THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH TERRARIUM BOWLS FOR JUST US TWO. What I find appalling is the fact that only 16 people actually signed up for the class (us included) and yet there were 30 people in the class, and those people who did not bother to actually sign up got bowls and we did not. It was a lack of professionalism shown and the management and the instructor did not seem to care, they showed zero competence and offered no help towards the people who had actually signed up for the class. The store is ran by unprofessional people and people who do not know how to do their job. I would NOT recommend this store NOR the terrarium class to anyone looking to enjoy their Saturday mornings and or learn anything of substance. We were treated unfairly and WE SIGNED UP. 0/10 customer service. read more

This Pike's under new management and I have seen a significant difference in their customer service at this location. I have found their selection of trees and shrubs to be very good. The few times they didn't carry the specific item I was wanting they checked with their other stores in the area and I was able to get what I needed from the other location. They have several landscaping professionals available to assist you with your needs and/or questions. I have needed advice on plant selection and placement and I found them to be very knowledgeable and helpful. read more
