They were on the list of approved warranty repair companies so this is where I took it. They told me to try tipping the lawnmower on the side, drain all the gas and put in fresh gas. That didn't work. I picked it up today and they charged me $133 and said it wasn't covered under warranty. This has a two year warranty so I should not have paid a penny. Companies that do not back up the products they sell are not worth my business and do not deserve my money. I am a long time supporter of the local hardware but this just pushed me to the big box stores.

While they didn't have the specific model in stock I wanted, they were kind to field about a dozen questions about the lower-tier model and helped me save myself a hundred bucks. It seems they have a LOT more going on than what the storefront makes it appear. I'd recommend them as an alternative to one of the larger corporate stores if possible.

I realized I needed a special tool in order to mount them. I came here because it's super close to work and they'd always been very helpful previously. It appeared a little bit of a reset was happening so things were little disorganized in some regard. Changing seasonal merch and all that fun.) but every one on the floor began to help look for what I needed, then get the different bolts to use and even replaced the bolts so I didn't have to purchase new tools (that I already have, just in storage and inaccessible at the moment). The level of helpful patience was beyond anything expected. Ever. I've worked in various customer service jobs my entire life. I know people can be exhausting. They spent a good 30+ minutes (of course taking turns helping others with the same friendly attitude when they came in) for ultimately a $6 sale. I've been to this Ace numerous times over the past decade or so and always a very good experience and excellent service. This time deserves a special shout out. I sensed someone very close behind me. It was the person helping along with a large dog on a rope. Not sure if this was personalized service or following me on a potential theft suspicion. (door had sign requiring leaving backpacks etc. at counter). I quickly found what I wanted, but I'm sure others would have freaked out if they don't like dogs close in their space. Maybe this was a result of a prior violent theft or scare. Who knows. Anyway, I like the place because of the knowledgeable, friendly staff. They have been helpful over the years, having all the things I need, especially hard-to-find items and bolts/fasteners.

The Ace Hardware houses the auto licensing as well as more standard offerings, a bakery section, some basic groceries, and a deli area. Some of the sections, such as a key making area, caught my attention as things to remember. Aisles were clearly labeled and the offerings matched their category. Some of the items were more seasonal specific, such as items to help with cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving, while others were more routine items. The bakery section included Pacific Northwest-based brands and freshly baked items. While tantalizing, the item(s) catching my eye for purchase today were the bumper stickers. I went with four in animal theme with fun sayings. The total with tax came to $14.00. My cash payment method was accepted and I opted to round up the change to go to an area Senior Thrift Store. At the onset of the pandemic, Henery's took charge and implemented numerous measures and protocols to keep patrons and staff as safe as possible. As of this date, May 18, 2020, however, things have deteriorated greatly. 1 of 5 employees I encountered wore a mask. 1 of 5 wore gloves. 2 passed within six inches of me in order to stock shelves on the same aisle I was on, neither wearing masks. Following the example, 2 of ten customers wore masks and also made numerous attempts to get less than 6 feet from me. There are no requirements for employees nor customers to wear a simple mask. Here's the thing. The measures we've used state wide and been enormously successful in reducing the spread of Covid 19. So much so, my wife and I thought it relatively safe to continue to shop in places like Henery's. Fact is, we have a 19 year old quadriplegic at home with 23% lung capacity. If he gets this disease, he dies. Full stop. As a result, we rely on the mutual concern and professionalism of establishments like Henery's to help maintain that level of safety. Henery's isn't doing that anymore, despite the lack of a vaccine and dire warnings from the CDC and epidemiologists globally. We cannot take the risk of killing our kid. So it is that today was my last trip into your store. Life will run a bit slower for us, as we order everything online and have it delivered, but seeing our son reach the age of 20 will make that well worthwhile.
