Customer service could not be worse. It used to be excellent under the previous owner, but not anymore. Prices are beyond outrageous, the staff has absolutely zero knowledge of their products (which are very poor quality these days - and the store does not stand by their products), and no proper understanding of service, not to mention a lazy, very unpleasant attitude, and no regard for longtime loyal customers who now are former customers. Take your business to Home Depot or literally anywhere else, if your money and your self respect matter at all to you. I certainly won't be back, after all these years. read more

I purchased an inflator that I needed in a pinch (over $100). When I got it home, I realized it needed to be charged for a few hours before use, so it wouldn't help me inflate air mattresses for a sleepover that night. I boxed it back up with all of the accessories and decided I'd return it the following day. Once I walked in, and the cashier saw me with a product in my hand, she already had it out for me. She said she had to go to the back to ask the managers, when she returned, she told me it was missing accessories. I explained that was false, and if it was missing accessories, then it was put on the shelf without them in the box. She again went to the managers and came back telling me it's a power tool, and they do not accept returns of power tools. read more

I always try to shop locally from small businesses and this store has been my go to for years. But ever since new ownership took over it hasn't been the same. The longtime employees who asked if you needed help have been replaced by high school kids who don't seem interested in helping unless you wave them down. I was standing on line today when the cashier told another customer he had to go back to the screw aisle and let him know how much the screw is. In the past the cashier would just charge 10 cents and move on. We all know there is a huge mark up on individual screws so at 10 cents they are still making money without inconveniencing a customer. Service has always set this Ace apart from the big box stores, sadly now it seems like a mini box store. read more

I love our local Ace Hardware. Everyone welcomes me like I am going there to see my friends. Everyone knows my name which is remarkable because my memory is horrible and can't remember anyone! It's true, you can go in there and buy lawn furniture, paint, and birthday cards! Every employee seems to know exactly where everything is, and when possible, they bring me to the aisle where they insect repellent is! Maybe prices are a bit higher than Home Depot, but it's not always about the money, it's for the Customer Service they provide every time I go in! It was a simple trip to buy some batteries and bolts. I know Ace is a bit higher on some items but it's close and shopping local is important to me. I saw a person I had seen on a previous trips and assume is a manager in this store. When asked to borrow a pen to properly price my parts, I was told no, she would write it for me. She was not going to lend me her pen. Her tone was curt and rude. I said I would buy them somewhere else and with that I left. As I was walking out she said she was "kidding" then, cursed loudly. By the time my adult child bought and got to the car with her batteries, I had ordered what I needed from Amazon. Guess I didn't need a pen after all. read more

Went here with Kelly quickly the other night when my Dad was about to grill our chicken burgers but we had run out of propane! We parked near the propane refill station which is located in the back left behind the store. I ran inside to pay, then took my receipt back out and showed the employee out there who signed the receipt and took the tank I had brought with us in the car. GRAY IS NOT BLACK This local ACE hardware store sports an over-sized "Benjamin Moore" paint sign [ Warren Buffets' very own paint company] but make no mistake this is a hardware store not a paint store. There are a number of professional paint stores in the area so if you are looking for a full service paint retailer pass this store by. I visited this store recently for what I thought was a simple and somewhat generic item but this transaction turned in to am Hollywood production with the need for custom mixing of a black semi-gloss acrylic paint. Then, even with all the computer mixing and machine shaking I walked away with gray , not black paint. Mistakes happen and I can forgive them but not the condescending behavior of the smug pr*ck who helped me. I will write off the cost to experience and will pick up a can off the shelf at Home Depot or Lowes. They get the two stars for hardware and none for paint. read more

I really like this place, way better than your local mega home improvement store. The store is in a strip mall and it is probably 1/20th the size of the mega improvement places, yet it has 10x more stuff that the average person would need in easy to find places. The staff is very helpful and will help you for ages to find a bolt or something that costs 10 cents. Basically this is a real hardware store that is excellent for household goods, and minor repairs, gardening, bolts etc. read more

I just had a bad experience today. I went there ordered 2 gallon of Benjamin more paint in semi-gloss finish but got eggshell. It was my fault that I didn't check it before checked out. When I realized it was wrong and talked to the person who mixed the paint he said I asked eggshell finish which I clearly remember is not true. While talking to the manager the manager claimed that he over heard I asked eggshell finish . How could somebody lie like that!! I waited on line at cashier to get help at the time because there were no one was around to help , there was no one around at all. I wanted to talk to the store owner and left my contact info but I know my message will never been passed. The dishonest manager is the worst part of it. Just leave my note here and hope the store owner has a chance to find what happened in his store. read more

This hardware store is Great. They are very cooperative on the phone answering quesitons, and their store is organized clearly and brightly. They employ local folks so the profits are shared back into the community. I would recommend this place more so than the big box stores. read more
