A few years ago I purchased something from their on-line store and was satisfied. I was in need of some screwdrivers and didn't want to spend a lot of money, because they always seem to disappear from my toolbox. I happened to be in the area, so I stopped in and found a 32-piece screwdriver set in a nice plastic case for $6.99 and a set of six small screwdrivers for $4.99. If I had gone to Snap On, I probably would have spent more than the price of these two sets for one driver. Apples and oranges, but close enough for me. I purchased a lighted magnifier hood for $4.99 that was slightly damaged in its unopened box, but I probably won't drive out there to exchange it. I purchased a few more items--all at incredibly low prices. It looks like the quality is ideal for a DIY. It disturbs me to buy Chinese made products, but in this case it made sense. The store is fairly large, I'd guess about 3,500 SF and chock full of all kinds of hand and power tools, tool chests and more. On my visit there were only two employees visible and my contact with the cashier was pleasant.

I was able to get four hydrangeas, six salvia/sage, two catmint, & three ornamental grasses all for under $140. It helped us stay way under budget and the plants are growing beautifully and healthy. One of my hydrangeas even has a blossom already! Looking forward to seeing them grow just as well next year.

There's Curbside pickup here too, but people kept honking atthe guy parked at curbside, because it's completely in the way of main traffic flow and should be moved to nearby parking spots. The Deer Park Town Center stores are easy to get to and find, as opposed to Oak Brook which can be a maze so I came to this store. As expected it was easy to find and parking was plentiful (which may be a function of having come here on a Thursday evening). The store is well kept and full of all kinds of goodies for one's home and kitchen. They have all the appliances open for touching and looking at, which I like, and has a major advantage over Amazon. I'll be looking for a new electric tea kettle soon and they have them here so I'll stop by to poke and prod. The staff member who helped me was friendly and it was easy and quick to pick up my item. When you order for in store pick-up you just need to show your ID, they bring out your item, and then you sign for confirmation of pickup. Easy peasy.

No charge for shipping if you order on line. There was no misunderstanding!! The entire staff needs to be informed of the policies.

I'm quite thankful that this…read morelocation exists only because there would be quite a gap of warehouse locations (between Costco and Sam's Club) if this didn't cover an intermediate area between Schaumburg, Des Plaines, Vernon Hills, etc. The traffic flow isn't helped by being so close to the Home Depot, though it's really not as busy as I've seen at other Costcos either. The layout here is fairly sensible, similar to the flow of what I've seen at most other Costcos (electronics front, meats in the back, dry goods and clothing in the middle). If dairy and frozen items were closer together, I think it would be a bit more logical from a purchasing flow stand point -- and if the prepared foods could be all grouped closer to one another I think it would be a bit easier to find. Otherwise, this is a fairly standard costco with generally chaotic traffic flow on the weekend between shoppers (both in the warehouse and in the store). Prices are great and selection is great, and checking out isn't terribly slow. Overall, fairly good costco though the differences between each aren't significant enough to really travel to one over another versus the one most convenient to you. You'll be able to get the high quality items you're looking for at great prices here.

This review is actually for an online purchase from costco.com and there are some pluses and…read moreminuses, but I've listed the review under our go-to Costco in Mount Prospect, for better or worse. Anyway, we knew what we wanted and decided to order a mattress from Costco as opposed to a regular mattress shop as we have always done previously. It was "just" for a guest room queen size mattress and we thought we would see what the experience might be like and we bought a decent looking hybrid firm queen mattress for $800 (listed prices include delivery). Scheduling was seamless and prompt and the deliverers arrived right within their 2 hour window 4 working days after the order. The mattress was nice and clean and new unlike poor experience from some low rated reviewers. The customer service issues we had was with the deliverers who turned out to be 2 younger guys that worked for Costco's sub-contractor Ryder Last Mile. They were friendly and polite, but the first thing was they didn't take their shoes off or use foot coverings. I didn't like that but also didn't say anything not knowing Costco practices. The other thing was when I said don't forget to take the old mattress, they said "you need to call Costco and they will send another truck for it". I was surprised as the Costco.com site specifically said mattress removal was included, but again being Costco, I gave them the benefit of my doubt. I asked them to at least take the mattress downstairs and leave it by the curb, and they complied. After they hurried off, my first thought was I'm glad I didn't tip them as I was going to do if they were nice and competent, but they didn't deserve anything anyway lol. I immediately called Costco.com to schedule the pickup and also complain about the lack of old mattress removal, and the empathetic rep on the phone agreed they should have done so, and he immediately called the management of the cited sub-contractor, who then immediately had the same crew come back and pick up the mattress which they did within an hour. The Costco leverage and quality control really shined then as we have come to expect. In a second later phone call, I called back to complain and pass on customer feedback about their sub not respecting property with their lack of shoe coverings, and again another empathetic Costco.com rep agreed. He also then nicely offered a $50 credit to our account for the bit of trouble and I thought that was a nice touch and again befitting of Costco quality control. Anyway, overall, and despite the mixed experience, we're quite pleased with the Costco.com purchase here.
