I went here for the first time on labor day and they were closed. A few weeks later for Friday dinner I decided to give them a try again. Parking is limited but the place is roomy to stay and study. I scanned their menu for some time and decided to get the combo 1 which comes with a banh mi and coffee or fruit tea. You get a $3 discount with this combo. I chose the tofu sandwich and a coconut coffee. I also ordered shrimp spring rolls. After I paid I noticed they added on a service charge which I didn't see on the screen before paying and it is separate from tip. I was going to ask them about this but they distracted me with a free keepsake bag before I could ask. Lol. As for the food, my honest review is it was pretty good. The banh mi baguette was not hot and crispy but it was still tasty. The tofu was seasoned well with soy sauce and there's some type of butter instead of pate. They had a good amount of fresh toppings. I'll give it to them- their vietnamese coffee is pretty good for being a vietnmaese place out of Chino. It was sweet, strong, and creamy. Their coconut foam wasn't as good as this one place in bolsa that I go to. As for their shrimp rolls, I ate it for breakfast the next day. It was decent, but they need more mint in it but the dipping sauce was fine. However, 2 rolls for $8 is pricey. Ultimately, I would come back to this establishment when I want a banh mi and I would try their other drinks.
Honestly, one of the best banh mi shops you can get outside of little Saigon in the OC. Located in Chino it's a bit of a trek for me but a whole lot shorter of a drive into the OC. It's a quaint little building located on the corner of an otherwise unassuming area. Inside it's decorated like a bright and cheery little cafe. I ordered the special, which has all the cold cuts stuffed into it and my daughter got the pork roll banh mi. The amount of meat they pack into the little baguette makes it a great value. They have an assortment of coffee drinks, I'm a traditionalist and got the normal Vietnamese iced coffee while my daughter got the Ube iced coffee. Make the trip, you can order ahead or dine in.
If you're a coffee lover, you have to try ACE Banh Mi! Just keep in mind that Vietnamese coffee is stronger than your average cup of coffee, but that's exactly why I love it. I'm a huge coffee person & this spot has easily earned a place in my top three favorite coffee spots. I ordered the banana coffee & it was absolutely delicious. The flavor was unique, well-balanced... executed really well. For food, I tried the Combination Banh Mi & it was solid. Fresh ingredients, good flavor & a satisfying sandwich overall. The customer service was also excellent. Friendly, welcoming & happy to answer questions. Another nice surprise was the seating area. There's an additional room where you can sit, relax & hang out. My only wish is that they opened at 7:45am instead of 8am so I could grab one of their amazing coffees on my way to work. I'll definitely be back for another banana coffee & try their other drinks.

I've had the spring rolls a couple of times and they taste fresh and are also big but sometimes fall apart. The owners are really friendly and give that nice mom and pop/family owned feel.
So I rate this three stars due to the fact that the workers or/owners not too sure who it was doesn't speak English so unfortunately there is a language barrier and you can't communicate about the product. I did want to order the salted coffee. I asked if it was salty, and all I got was yes I don't think they understood what I was saying. No fault to them, but I do feel like if you're in a country that mainly speaks English, you should have someone who can communicate with your customers. The coffee was too sweet. It didn't have a strong, pungent coffee of a Vietnamese, coffee and again due to the lack of communication we couldn't explain we wanted it less sweeter so the ambience is really cute inside very green very fresh but like I say, give it a try and you decide

It isn't in a strip mall, you will see it off a corner, and you will need to park on the street or I believe they have a bit of parking in the back. The inside looks clean and the workers were real friendly. There is a touch screen where you can order yourself. I ordered the Ace Deluxe and ordered the crispy pork belly. I had to make sure to order pate inside the pork. The sandwiches are quite large, are really good! They are about $9 a sandwich at the time of this review, and they also sell drinks and vermicelli. Can't wait to go back ! Until next time!
I'd say this is one of the best banh mi spots in the area. I usually get my bamh mi fix in SGV or OC, but it's finally nice to have a solid option in Chino. Keep in mind the service is a bit slow as it took a while for them to make two banh mis. It's also a little pricier than what I'm used to, but fortunately the sandwich was satisfying. The baguette was crunchy on the outside while still soft inside. There was plenty of meat, and was well balanced with the pate/ sauce. My go-to is BBQ pork and it was good! I'm used to banh mis having more pickled veggies (carrots and daikon), and this spot goes lighter on those. But their cucumber added a nice crunch and freshness that made up for the other lack of veggies. Overall a solid place that I would come back to!

I'm sorry to be leaving this review :( I was excited to see a banh mi spot open up in Chino and really wanted to like it, unfortunately fell short. First off, the bread appeared cold and stale as if it were day old. Did not have the satisfying crisp factor you get from a fresh baked baguette. I also look forward to pickled carrots and daikon in my banh mi, however they did not taste very good. Hardly even had any daikon either. And the pate tasted odd to me as well. Sadly, I will not be returning.

Definitely want to come back and try their vermicelli pork belly bowl.
FOOD: I ordered a matcha latte and Ace Banh Mi Sandwich (roughly $18 in total). The matcha latte came with oat milk and had little sweetness in it. I think it was a pretty good drink. For the Ace Sandwich, I had better expectations for the bread -- it was dry. Lots of loaded veggies and good portion protein. I think the bread can be better improved. As for the price, I personally think it's quite steep. I would definitely stop by again and try something different later in the future. SERVICE: Service was quick! Nice to see a Vietnamese restaurant in Chino since there aren't many. I give the banh mi a 4/5, spring roll a 3/5, vermicelli 3/5 and the prices 2/5. The banh mi had a good amount of meat and flavor. The spring roll had plenty of noodles and fresh herbs but the meat tasted like beef jerky. Super dry! The vermicelli bowl is pretty small. Prices for these simple items are steep! read more

Excellent and fast service, everyone was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and really flavorful. Good portions for sharing like their vermicelli bowls. They come with veggies, protein, noodles and a side of sauce that was not too sweet but just enough flavor to bring it all together. The banh mi was really good and the bread wasn't too tough to chew. Their coffees are worth coming here for on their own! I love a good salty coffee and this was excellent. Not too sweet and not overly salty. Their egg coffee was good too. I can best describe it as tasting like the pudding they put at the bottom of boba drinks. Like a custard taste. Just got back from Vietnam and this place met my fix. Staff is nice and polite. Cashier is a cutie so that's a plus in my book. The interior is spotless and well maintained. The food is quickly prepared for those that are in a rush. Stay away from the coffee cause it's too damn addictive. Bread was crispy which was the perfect texture. The crispy pork banh mi was my personal fav because the amazing flavors mixed with that crunch. I gotta come back whenever my cravings hit me like a pregnant woman. read more

Finally made it in to try this place, and wow -- the crispy pork belly banh mi is an absolute standout! The bread is fantastic: perfectly crisp on the outside with a soft, fluffy interior. I really want this place to succeed because we need a good bánh mì spot in Chino, but this was disappointing. A proper cold cut bánh mì should have a crispy, lightly toasted baguette, a good layer of pâté and mayo, a mix of Vietnamese cold cuts, pickled carrot and daikon, fresh cucumber, cilantro, and usually some jalapeños. It should also be seasoned lightly with soy sauce or Maggi and a bit of pepper for that extra depth. What I got was mostly hard, stale bread with very little filling. It wasn't toasted, there was barely any pâté or mayo, the meats were limited and not sliced right, and it was missing key elements like cucumber. There was no real balance of flavors or textures. I used to work at a bánh mì shop, so I know how good these sandwiches can be. I'm posting this not just to complain, but because I hope they improve this area really deserves a spot that does bánh mì right. Service was slow and Ambiance is okay. read more

It is 3.5 stars. Improvements made: They now have kiosks to order by ourselves. The not so good: I think they need to provider drink carriers because my drink spilled as there was no lid stuffer and it soaked half of my sandwich. That is why I deducted half a star. read more

We stopped to try this new spot, they are in their soft opening. We ordered 2 crispy Pork vermicelli bowls, an order of pork spring rolls, a coconut coffee and a Vietnamese white coffee. When we got home I noticed one of the bowls was missing, so I called and spoke with Vu who was extremely nice and apologetic about the situation. He offered a refund or if I wanted to come in to pick up the missing bow he would compensate with a drink. He absolutely didn't have to do that but I really appreciated it! I picked up the bowl, and he recommended the passion fruit tea. The food itself was fresh and very delicious. The drinks were just as good! The inside is very clean, and has a few places to sit to eat if you choose to stay. I really hope this place gets a lot of support so they can stay open. I will absolutely be returning! read more

I was so excited to try the veggie lemongrass banh mi since I don't eat meat, and I already want another one! The combination of the sweet, savory, and crunchy flavors are so satisfying, and it's exactly what I was craving. The tofu was flavorful from the lemongrass marinade, and the prices are very fair across the menu. Also, it was so welcoming as soon as I stepped in as I was greeted with their kind energy. I loved the cute, comfy seating and the convenience of dining in or taking it to go easily. Can't wait to come back here again and try more. read more

Tried Ace Banh Mi and I'm already planning my next visit The strawberry matcha was my favorite--perfectly balanced and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. Super refreshing! I also had the crispy pork belly banh mi and it did not disappoint. The pork was flavorful and tender with just the right amount of crisp, and everything came together so well in the sandwich. I'm local to the area. I came in with my daughter early morning and the place inside was super clean and decorated so cute Im a big coffee girl especially for Vietnamese coffee. & let me just say the BEST Vietnamese coffee I've ever had! I'm so happy they opened. an authentic taste for sure. I got the salted foam coffee. Also the owner Anne was so sweet and good to us. Parking here is honestly a hassle since you pretty much have to find street parking and hope for the best. I ordered the banh mi special which is $9 but it came out to $10 using the kiosk. The sandwich itself was just okay and nothing really stood out. The bread didn't have that classic crispy baguette texture you expect from a banh mi. It was softer and kind of stale. You know when you take a bite and it lightly scratches the roof of your mouth in a good way this one didn't have that at all. Service also felt off. The workers were talking among themselves and didn't acknowledge me, no greeting or anything. It also took over 20 minutes to get my sandwich even though it was just me and one other customer. Overall it felt underwhelming for something that should be simple and quick. read more
