His attention to detail is unmatched by any contractor I've worked with before. (Owning a 100+ year old house, there have been many!) Even when a few minor hiccups came up, he stayed true to the original estimate--despite the work taking longer than expected (through no fault of his own). The craftsmanship is exceptional, and the finished projects look even better than I imagined. We'll definitely be hiring him again for future work. Highly recommend!

We found Friends and Family after deciding not to continue working with a design/build firm whose…read moredesign proposal ultimately didn't live up to what they'd led us to expect. Working with Billy, the owner, was a complete turnaround. We were looking for a full home renovation, and during the initial site visit, Billy took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and walked us through major choices, such as whether to keep the same footprint or expand the home. Throughout the process, he also presented the many smaller decisions, such as flooring, tiles, and cabinetry, in a way that made each decision more digestible. Once walls, plumbing, and the roof were opened up, there were some unforeseen discoveries that pushed our cost above the initial estimate. Billy had warned us this might happen initially, and we appreciated his transparency about each issue as it came up. One of the things that stood out the most was the honest and frequent communication throughout the entire process. Billy works closely with a number of trusted tradesmen across different specialties, which we believe helped keep the project moving efficiently. Throughout construction, we thought Billy was very fair about not charging us more when he didn't have to. Overall, Friends and Family Builders delivered quality work with integrity and professionalism. We're incredibly happy with the results!

I gave up on them and contacted MCG. Mark spent time with me to see the roof, showed me all of the possible ways water could get into the house from the structure and recommended a complete plan to address the possible issues. Once we agreed to the scope of work, his crew was onsite immediately and successfully to tarp the roof properly in order to stop water damage until they could begin work. The MCG crew began their demolition and rebuild work when promised. I really appreciated how hard and how clean the team worked inside and outside my house. When there was a slight problem with a hole punched into my ceiling during the work, MCG fixed the hole and repainted the ceiling area the next day so that it was not at all noticeable. The deck they rebuilt for me is lovely. Most importantly, it is totally leak free and I can see in what they did all of their tweaks to the pre-existing layout that ensure it will stay that way for the long term. Both Mark and his team members communicated well and delivered exactly as promised for the price we agreed on. I would happily work with MCG on any future projects and recommend them confidently.
