I also followed up with an email. it's now 6/6 and nothing. Seems the agent was only interested in repair quote even though the project is 15 units of high end windows. I mentioned the advertised 25% Memorial Day discount was generous, and I would like to take advantage of the offer. Other companies were more responsive so I'm moving on. This company is a TOTAL RIP-OFF. We made the mistake of calling them for a quote on a job to repair a door frame and replace some window glass. The sales guy came out in July, looked at the job, and gave us a quote for both on the spot. He also took our deposit, saying they could do the job in 2-3 weeks. A month later the dude texted me to say "Oh, we decided we can't do a repair on that door. The whole door needs to be replaced," which would cost another $2000. I told them no way, just come and replace the window glass. After hounding them almost daily they finally came out in mid-September and did that job. This review would have been a ZERO were it not for the professional work the technician provided. read more

I went with this company because of all the 5 star ratings. I wish I had the pleasure to experience a 5 star service. Unfortunately, I did not. I first have to say that overall the installation of my doors were good. However, in order for me to give 5 stars, the following has to ensue. Professionalism, Punctuality and attention to detail. The head installer Jacob, first arrived with a nasty disposition and when the project started, he had the audacity to have a full blown loud argument with his co-worker in my house, which made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Secondly, they were to arrive between 8am & 9am, I get it if one is running late because of traffic or other unforeseen circumstance. They arrived after 9am and a courtesy call would of been nice. Once the project was done, there was no initial walk through with the head installer. Because I already felt a bit intimidated by the earlier ordeal between jacob and his co-worker, I did not ask Jacob for a walk though nor did he offer one. I took it upon myself to do a quick inspection. Everything at face value seemed to look ok. So the next morning once everything settled, I did a more thorough and lengthy inspection. I discovered issues that in hindsight I wish I could of addressed the day of the project. Please see attached photos for what I found. Although these issues I found are minor, I have to say that for almost $10,000, I expected a perfect job to be performed from start to finish. Not sure what's up with this company but if you're looking to get a single door replaced I'd look elsewhere. Their estimate was so unrealistic I thought there was mistake. I was looking to get an exterior door replaced with one I had already purchased so just the labor for install. I reached out to a number of different companies and received estimates in the $400-$700 range except for Ardmor as their quote came in at $2495. Maybe this is the "we don't want to do your job but we might for an outrageous amount" price but I would have rather them not waste my time and just say no at the start. read more

My experience with Ardmor was...definitely mixed. While I am satisfied with the final work done, it was a very long and at times extremely frustrating process dealing with them. It began with my making a first call to Ardmor on August 7, 2020 to schedule an initial inspection/estimate to either repair or replace several 2nd and 3rd floor windows on my Philly row home. The job (including a replacement door which I added to the work needed) was not completed until December 21, 2020 - over 4 months. I realize covid-19 has made a lot of companies and manufacturers short-staffed and tried to be patient. But every step of this process seemed to take much longer than anticipated. First it took 2 weeks to get that initial estimate inspection for the windows (Aug 22). Then it was 9/17 before I could schedule a second inspection to get the exact measurements after accepting the estimate and to add the door to the job. I had been given a window of 1-3pm for that, I live an hour away from the property, and at 12:20 the measurer from Ardmor was calling me that he was on site, where was I? Well, on the bridge into Philly, and he was 40 minutes early for the time I was given. He was kind of huffy about that (and when I tried to call Ardmor and left them a message about that, I never heard back. Pretty common for their communications - never any responses to voicemail or email, I had to hope to catch a live person on the phone to ever get any information.) 6 more days to get the quote on the door, which I paid and approved on October 1. I was told, on the day of the final measurements, that it would be "2-3 weeks" for the materials to come in. It ended up being 7 weeks (and multiple phone messages/emails to enquire) before I got an update that I could finally schedule the installation. I was given a window between 8-10am that they would be there to do the entire job. It was after 10:30 when the installers finally showed up, complaining about the parking situation in Philadelphia and if they couldn't park right in front of the building they couldn't do the windows, only the door. My building doesn't have a garage, I have no designated parking space, I told them they had to sort that out themselves as clearly the inspector + measurer before them should have made clear the situation. It turned out they didn't even have a ladder tall enough with them to do the windows that day anyway and it took the entire day, until nearly 6pm, to do the door. I then waited a week for the call I was told would be coming to get the rest of the job scheduled - that never came, so I called them back to get it booked for 12/14...which then turned into 12/16...which then turned into 12/21 due to weather conditions. (And once again I was told to be there by 8-10am and it was nearly 11am before the installers arrived.) Again, the final work was very good and I realize the job was not an easy one - that's why I'll give them 3 stars despite the difficulties I had. But, it felt like communication was always a struggle, the measurers/inspectors didn't make things easier on the installers by not giving them a full picture of what they had to do until the day(s) they showed up, and I'm just exhausted and relieved that it's *over*, after 4 months, and my tenants have finally had water leak issues resolved which I feel should not have taken this long. Based on this experience I do not believe I would be eager to recommend or use Ardmor again in the future. read more

I had this company's agent Tod to my son's home due to cracked glass in windows, and 3 windows that were not working properly. I had the broken glass windows repaired by them, and Tod told me the 3 windows needed complete replacement. He told me about their financing, and i agreed to let him run my credit to apply for financing, MISTAKE 1. I got mail three days later from synchrony bank, hold on that was not what i was told. I called to let them know, i dont do business with that bank, so i will have to reach out to you when i can afford to pay for this without financing. Too Late, they said ok but continued to call me and say we have your windows we need to set a date to install. I called at leaat 6 times to reiterate the fact that i could not move forward. Now they send me a lawsuit accusing me of having their windows and not paying for them. I called them and guess what, Cheryl says, we have your windows and want to schedule installation. I cannot believe this. This is such predatory behavior. Once you let them in, and they show you windows they tell you anything to close a deal. Then when i find out the truth, they say too bad we had an agreement even though the agreement was made in bad faith on thier part. read more

I have no complaints because everyone was so pleasant to work with. From the time of scheduling the quote to the installers (& the in between calls), I'm very pleased with the whole process. I had an old semi arched window removed and reframed with a tilt & turn window -- beautifully done by the guys who did a solid 12 hour job. Cleaned up everything including the debris off of the roofing edge. I do highly recommend this company. My experience with Ardmor was simply terrible, and I would caution anyone against even considering them for any window repairs. My husband and I are renovating a 3800 square foot 1910 home and we approached Ardmor to get a quote to repair some non-functional wood windows and replace any panes that had broken glass. This was not a very complicated job - we didn't need the windows removed, stripped, and fully renovated. We were merely looking for replacement chains, replacing missing hardware, and the glass, along with a few exterior wood sils that needed replacing. There were about 20 windows in all. Tim, who we later found out was a new estimator at Ardmor, was friendly and seemed competent and down-to-earth. He provided a detailed, seemingly-fair-priced quote in a fairly timely manner and they had great reviews online, so we decided to go with them. Once the work began, the issues started. They only put us on the schedule for two days to complete the entire job, which was a joke. Once the 1.5 work days were complete, getting them to come back and complete the rest of the work was nearly impossible. Scheduling with the work crew was a nightmare and there were repeated delays. Only about 1/3 of the work was ultimately completed, but Ardmor sent us an invoice for the full quote amount. We went back and forth with this company about the scope of work they actually completed, versus what their quote said they would complete. This process went on for about three months. In the end, Ardmor literally could not complete their end of the bargain. We ended up sending them a letter illustrating the tasks they had competed and paying them only for those items, and they confirmed that our account was paid in full. But that did not account for the hours and hours of our wasted time and effort, months lost, stress endured, and remaining window work that we now have to find someone else to do. We spoke with their office staff over a dozen times, my husband got involved and tried to work it out through their supervisor, we had several follow-up meetings at our property trying to get on the same page about what work had been completed and what had not. Ardmor was repeatedly disorganized, the supervisor was rude to my husband, and the office staff seemed completely clueless, although cordial. I could not believe that a company with a good reputation and sizeable staff could be so profoundly incompetent and disorganized. I still don't understand what happened on their end, as no one ever took control of the situation and got on the same page with us. It was a chaotic mess. All for 20 windows of repair work. In the beginning of December, I needed new window cranks, a new storm door, replace glass in a casement window, and weatherstripping replaced on two doors. The gentleman that came out came at the end of 8 am - 9 am window and mentioned that I was his first call. It would have been nice to receive a call before or at the beginning of the window as to when to expect arrival. He was on-site for about 15 minutes, looked over the items needing repair, and mentioned he's not sure about getting the weatherstripping for the doors. As there are various different types of weatherstripping, I mentioned I don't necessarily care if its the original or not, as long as cold air stops leaking in. I never received a call back and no voicemails were received either. Although, I did receive a quote via email. Looking over the email, it says they're waiting for my initial deposit to begin and also lists the total. The storm door, casement window, and crank replacements are listed. However, I don't see anything on the quote speaking to the weatherstripping. About a week or 2 ago, now January, I got a follow up call, the rep I spoke with let me know that this was just a follow up call to make sure I received the quote. I mentioned the lack of weatherstripping repair listed on the quote and that labor, for some reason, wasn't included on the quote for any parts. I was then informed that the parts cost included labor. I don't like that, I like to be able to see parts and labor cost independent of each other. If the costs are equitable, and at a commensurate rate for the industry, then it shouldn't be a problem breaking those costs apart. I was then told they were submitting a work order to have someone call me (weird amount of effort for a call back). I told the person I'll need more details about the weatherstripping which wasn't included in the quote and a costs break down, without any more info, I wouldn't be submitting a deposit. I'm still waiting for that call back or even a voicemail... Based on the reviews here, Ardmor seemed like a really good company, I wish I could convey that for my experience as well. read more

I would have been willing to work with the schedule, but the longer I stayed on the phone with the "um, one moment", or long explanations as to why the company couldn't accommodate, I no longer wanted to do business with this company. read more

We moved into a new home in a historic district of Philly and the windows were in desperate need of replacement. Over the home's more than 100 years, previous owners had removed the original wood windows, altered window opening sizes and replaced them with single pane aluminum windows. We could feel the wind inside! Ardmor had replaced all the windows at my previous home and so I knew just who to call. This was a tricky job because it required working with the Philadelphia Historical Commission (PHC) to find windows that met their requirements to look as close to the original windows as possible. The team at Ardmor recommended Marvin Elevate windows and we love them! They worked on drawings and got them approved by the PHC, no easy task! The installers were on time, courteous, and extremely tidy and thorough. Even my neighbors commented on how diligent they were with caulking and properly flashing the windows. They look great and help the home look the way it used to. We could not be more pleased with the whole process and recommend them wholeheartedly! read more

I really liked the way they communicated. Messaged them on a Sunday through the yelp app. I received a call back in a timely manner. My appointment was scheduled 9/10/2020 between 8:00AM - 9:30AM. I received a reminder text the day before. On the day of my appointment I received an updated text at 8:40 saying they will arrive in 40 minutes and to call with any concerns. I really loved this update. One thing that I did communicate to the company is when they called me on to set up an appointment their call came across my cell phone saying "Spam Risk" so just wanted you to be aware. I'm hoping I can come back on here and say everything was great soon. I needed the glass replaced in my patio door. The door had a broken seal, then something crashed against it an totally broke it. I found Ardmore - my initial reaction over the phone was "Jeez, I wish I could find another company" the women were downright rude while speaking with them - cut you off, barely acknowledge your business choice. The gentleman who came out and measured was great.......then I get to deal with the miserable ones until it was time to get the glass replaced. They offered an additional 5% discount if paying by cash or check -- never said that included the down payment - which was paid by debit card, to me that is just like a check - fine. No additional 5% discount. The men came on the day of the appointment in the beginning of their two hour window - they were awesome. I was writing a check when I noticed something like a piece of cloth at the bottom of the door - he looked at it and said it was inside the glass - I didn't even have time to get annoyed, he took pictures of it, called his boss, and they immediately ordered a replacement - would not take the payment - wait for new glass he said. Now back to lack luster customer experience on the phone - at least I thought. Two weeks later I got a text and an email asking for the balance - when I said I was waiting for the new glass - I got a simple "disregard" email. I would love to get some other windows done, but I'll have to wait and see how this replacement goes, and whether or not their CS staff learn how to speak to their customers on the phone. read more

tl;dr terrible customer service. do not recommend. I do not recommend this company. While I had no issues with the actual contractors, there were several issues with the installation of my doors. I have called, left detailed voicemails, and sent emails requesting to speak to management. Though I have not been contacted in regard to my concerns, I have received prompt notification to pay the final invoice and submit a review. Here it is: 4/19 - Two Ardmor representatives (1 trainee) completed the estimate and I paid the deposit. I explained that the doors were new, but incorrectly installed and damaged. Most notably, the front screen door was installed outside of the door frame (see photo). Previous contractors made adjustments (i.e., extending the frame, cutting into the top stair, etc.) that were raggedy and I was looking to redo it "the right way". I noted that the original measurements were probably incorrect and that I wanted to the new screen door to fit inside the frame against the threshold. One of the Ardmor representatives suggested that they just extend the threshold and I clarified that I wanted the door to be inside the original frame which was still visible. I was informed that another representative would be responsible for taking measurements. I was also informed that each entryway would be installed over the course of two days, one at a time for safety. 4/26 - Another Ardmor representative came to take additional pictures and measurements. When I noticed the representative taking measurements of the front screen door from the outside, I reiterated that the current screen door was outside of the frame and that the new one should be in it. Honestly, it was egregious and the misunderstanding of what I was looking to achieve should have been the red flag. 5/3 - I received an email with an abbreviated quote requiring a signature. It was not accompanied by an explanation. I was not informed that I should be expecting another document post-signing the contract and had to contact Ardmor for clarification. I was contacted ~6 weeks later to schedule the installation. 6/23 - The contractors began to work on both doors simultaneously. I assumed this meant that they intended to finish installing all four doors that day. This was not the case - the contractors promptly wrapped up at 8 hours. I was shown the re-installed locks before they headed out. They had put those little foam things around the frame for "insulation" (see photo). Worse, I could see gaps in the same spots as the old doors. I was assured that weatherstripping would correct this. I could have simply put weatherstripping on the original doors. 6/24 - I was informed that the installation was mostly complete with the exception of the cosmetic touches. I immediately notice the front screen door in the same exact space as the original with a little more padding and a slightly extended threshold - still not touching. It was not until after the contractors left that I noticed that the front door's deadbolt would not fully engage. I was not contacted the next day. I called on 6/28 and left a voicemail explaining my pressing issue (locks) and additional concerns. I received a call back from Cheryl and a follow-up email requesting the above information. As of 7/7, I have yet to hear from management in regard to any of my concerns though I have left multiple voicemails and sent multiple emails. Cheryl did call again to schedule the work to be completed. I personally told the contractors what I needed to be adjusted and they completed their work on 6/3. Still, the front door frame was cut to accommodate the battery-operated doorbell I plan to remove. It looks terrible. I've never been treated so poorly. For $8k, a returned phone call was the least they could do. This process was a complete disappointment. read more

After trying my best to weatherstrip the window from the inside, I called this company. They came out and gave me a quote. I thought it was a little pricey but way better than a replacement. I was able to pay with deposit online. Air was literally blowing on my head at night! They sent a guy out and he worked his butt off. Took his time and didn't give me no lip when I inquired or pointed out concerns. I am so very glad I choose them. ARDMOR provided quality window and door services for us this month. Their prices are the right middle tier between being not too high but also not too low where you think there could be something wrong. From the scheduler to their online payment system, it's a legit company that was easy to work with. They also source quality products to install from their suppliers. The only improvement I'd suggest would be for them to put one more active installer on jobs so that they could finish jobs in one day rather than having to come back for a second day of install. I had two custom made exterior doors replaced. The two gentlemen who showed up to do the job were on time and put in a solid 10 hour day. They returned a few days later on time to finish the job. They took great detail in doing the job and cleaned up everything. They were also $1500.00 below another company whose quote included 40% off. read more
