I worked with the Grimaldi team when I moved in to my home in southern NJ back in 2016. They did…read moresome joist reinforcements, remodeled a bathroom, covered fascia boards on my roof, and repaired cracked cinderblocks. Since then, I've discovered all the things that were wrong with the job - the latest of which was today: 1) They beam reinforcements broke through my upstairs floor, so it's not level and we've had to build over and around it since (they used a steel i-beam, so not able to replace or repair easily); 2) The cinder block repairs were unnecessary- what I needed was a foundation repair; 3) They broke boards in the floor while jacking the ceiling and did a shoddy job throwing 2x4 in place that wasn't flush with the floor; 4) In the bathroom, they didn't repair the toilet properly, so I had three wax rings and a toilet that was connected to nothing (started leaking into my ceiling last week, now getting repaired properly by a plumber). 5) When they did the work, because I paid Mark up front, what should have been done in a few weeks took about three months. He'd go for long periods with his guys not showing up before they'd come back. Having now done more real estate investing and remodeling, I recognize that he was probably upside down on cash flow and was doing jobs to keep paying his guys and slotting us in where he could. There are some other items, but I strongly recommend that you look for another contractor for any serious job you do.

Luke and his team (Joe, Brian, Allan) were absolutely the best contractors I have ever encountered…read more The men were there on time every day, worked diligently every day and completed the needed work in a timely manner and to perfection. There was not one problem from start to finish. I would highly recommend Grimaldi Contractors to my family and friends without a second thought. THANK YOU! - Susan T.

Painful and Frustrating…read more I too like Richard, Erin, and Karla regret this. I hired Ron based solely on the recommendation of my realtor, who I held in extremely high regard!!! This was a mistake! I found Ron personable, generally responsive, and seemingly well intentioned . HOWEVER, the work was anything but accurate! Ron hires low skilled, unprofessional, lazy, labor and then poorly manages them while juggling between multiple projects. Ron HIMSELF is not proactive at identifying potential issues, problem-solving, cuts before measuring, is not detail oriented, nor seems to take any pride in his work. This all led to subpar work, rework, and cost overruns. We have been struggling to get to the end of a reno of a fixer-upper that we THOUGHT would be a good investment. After paying Ron ~$30k, we are now hiring someone else to fix many problems with Ron's work and much of the work left unfinished. -Ron didn't bother leveling the subfloor. our floors are like a roller coaster. The boards are moving and coming apart. Baseboard and trim are missing in many areas with visible end cuts. -Our "new" roof has pooling water -The paint job consists of multiple different sheens all over our walls and ceiling. The spackling and prep work was horrible. Every light, door knob, hinge and outlet has paint on it. -Never reconnected the smoke/co2 detectors to our new electrical panel (extremely egregious putting our safety in danger) -redid the bathroom putting the new floor over the loose existing tiles and rotting subfloor with a HUGE transition strip/trip hazard. -our yard is destroyed from ron driving his truck over the grass I could go on but the photos speak for themselves. I think the last straw was trying to charge us extra for things that are clearly stated in the base estimate and even after pointing out issues his fixes are also poorly executed. We are on day 90+ of what was supposed to be a 45-60 day renovation. TRULY DISAPPOINTING!! UPDATE: Today we came home to water everywhere. The 2nd floor plumbing work Ron had done leaked all over the first floor. Our ceilings are flooded. AVOID!!

Horrible overall services rendered. Like Karla C., I regret the mistake of hiring this contractor…read morewhich was a referral. Ron does not manage the work done by his subordinates/crew. I spent $40K to this subpar performing contractor to renovate my property. Financial mistake in the fact that I had to hire another contractor to CORRECT everything. Paint job, flooring job, carpeting laying was horrible. I have photos as proof. The quality of work was so poor that I fired the realtor that referred this subpar performing contractor. I would HIGHLY recommend to DO NOT consider doing business with this contractor. The subpar services and lack of true customer focus is criminal. There is no valid reason this contractor is in business..

I needed a general contractor to convert one of my windows into a patio door. After getting several quotes from different companies, Rino from Alameda Construction stood out immediately. He offered fair pricing while still providing the same high‑quality details and transparency as the higher‑priced competitors. He was also extremely punctual and easy to reach for any questions. On the very day I contacted him, he arrived right on time to provide an estimate. A few days after I purchased my patio door, he prepared a clear, detailed agreement outlining exactly how the installation would be done and the expected timeline. When installation day came, Rino, Nick, and T completed the entire project in just one day. They demolished the existing structure, reframed and widened the opening, relocated an electrical outlet, and even added an outdoor light. By the end of the day, they had created the beautiful gateway from our living room to our backyard that we had always wanted. To Alameda Construction--thank you for the excellent work. We will absolutely continue hiring you for our future home projects, your work ethic and quality are 10 out of 10 on our book----Glenn and Angel.

He was extremely helpful after I shared photos of the project, offering thoughtful ideas and arriving well‑prepared on the day of the job. Rino provided several creative suggestions and truly valued collaboration when discussing the project's direction. He was friendly and professional throughout, even making a trip to the local hardware store to purchase needed supplies and providing receipts. His service was efficient, and he kept me informed with frequent progress updates which added great value to the project. I would absolutely recommend Alameda Construction--especially Rino--for future projects or even one‑off day jobs.
