Great, high quality workmanship. Needed sidewalk repaired in front of Philadelphia home. These guys have years of experience and are true professionals. Very friendly crew. read more

Had a great experience with them- they were fast, efficient, honest, and fair, (and super clean)- they did an excellent job with repairing a damaged concrete patio in a matter of a few hours- they even helped to fill in a crack on my front porch at no added cost. Would definitely recommend/use them again. read more

A trusted neighborhood company. Paul's stuccoed our wall that was in need of repair. Awesome crew. No BS, no hassle, just quality work. When they finished the job they cleaned up and you wouldn't even know they were there. I wouldn't hesitate to call Paul's cement again! read more

We use him for all our concrete jobs in the city. Photos say a thousand words. He always brings his entire crew - 6 people, last time. And, they stay on the job until it is done. Perfect. Pay very close attention to the reviewers who give him 1 star - for the most part, Paul never did the work. So, why leave a poor review? read more

I've had the pleasure of working with Paul and his 3 sons for many years. He has come out multiple times to do various jobs around the property ranging from stucco to brick pavers and everything has come out beautiful. He's always been kind, courteous, and respectful. read more

Gave a positive review of their great work last month. Fast turn atound, courteous, professional and a good price. Just forgot to give then 5 stars!! Will definitely use again. read more

I am a bit delayed in posting this review for work Paul did last fall. He and his sons did great work at a fair price. They removed an uneven brick side yard and replaced it with concrete that properly slopes away from the foundation. He came up with a creative solution to resurface the entry steps and cut the cured concrete so it looks like slate pieces. Very happy with the result! read more

I contacted Paul to give me an estimate for sidewalk repair. He reached out quickly but his estimate came in $200 over the other I received for the same job. When I told him I had another, cheaper estimate he very rudely said "whatever" and hung up on me. Thanks, Paul. Now I know not to waste my time with you! read more

Our home is located in Port Richmond. Our basement walls were in need of repair. Especially, a partial wall in the crawl space and wall next to the newly installed furnace. The before and after pictures remarkable! These gentlemen came prepare to work on time. They protected by covering my brand new furnace. And, because they had to come through my home with buckets of cement, they also ensure the floors were protected as well. The craftsmanship technic of the job is totally professional and the price fair & reasonable. I could not be happier. I would most definitely recommend Paul Cement Work. read more

I am currently looking for a cement contractor. I found Paul's, I looked at the reviews but decided to move forward. After a couple days after contacting him he called. He was gruff and rude so I hung up on him. He called back and apologized, we texted and had an appointment early Monday which he never called. Wasting my time! I should have heed the reviews. I won't pursue using this company but I will find a contractor that I respect. read more

Last month I needed some basement and garage walls repaired. Paul's crew did a great job! The walls are now dry and smooth, and the crew was so diligent in cleaning up all their debris that the basement and garage are now cleaner than when they started. I highly recommend if you have any cement work needed. read more

What can I say about cement work - had a couple of projects with these guys. One in my south Philly back-yard where and one on the staircase coming to the house. The first one was done a couple of years ago and still looks great. I shopped around the first time and they were one of the lowest priced for the project. The second project was done today and I am still waiting for it to harden but so far so good:) On both jobs he came with a big crew and was in and out very quickly, both jobs required moving though the house and they came in with tarps so our floor will not be messed by the cement. Paul is a little rough around the edges (well very rough around the edges) but gets the job done with good prices and prompt work. read more

Worst experience ever. The craftsmanship is horrible. We hired him early spring 2016 to fix the side of our house and he butchered the job. We asked him to fix multiple times and had other masonry contractors, that were licensed and bonded, look at Paul's work and they said it needed to be re-done. HE IS NOT LICENSED. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! read more

Came out to give a quote on concrete work and measured it out by walking foot to foot-No tape measure and never received the quote. It may have been too big of a job and if that was the case give the common courtesy of a call back-simple business. read more

We had a terrible 800 square foot dirt floor basement with stone walls covered in crumbling lime. This is typical of Philadelphia rowhomes but our energy contractor said it was bad news, both in terms of controlling humidity and us breathing in mold. I had Paul's crew pour my basement floor and re-parge the walls. Despite the low profile, Paul Cement Work is not a small operation - there were at least 6 guys on the site at one point. They were very respectful of our home and kept the chaos to a minimum. They somehow managed to parge some areas of our walls I found difficult to reach even with a paint brush. The air down there is noticeably better. I was very impressed with the work they did and would hire them again. read more

still waiting for your guys return to finish the side of my steps already paid for at 2028 E. Orleans St.......Tony Ratka 215-427-1042......

Did my driveway and sidewalk. Punctual, quick, clean and beautiful work to boot. The guys are all a riot and enjoy their work. Loved it all the way around. Thanks Paul read more

Paul and his crew are prompt, kind and hard working. I called Paul and he made time the same day to come by and give me an estimate. He was then able to quickly fit me into their schedule and give me a great price. They have repaved our sidewalk and refinished our basement walls. Both jobs were done with care. We would hire them again! read more

I found Paul's on Angie's list which is my go-to source for home services. I needed my front sidewalk replaced with new concrete. Paul's crew turned up to breakup the old concrete and was considerate of my neighbors by starting at a reasonable hour in the morning. They were able to frame the walk and pour the concrete the same day. They paid attention to the finishing details and put up barriers around the new concrete. The sidewalk turned out great. I'm pleased every time I go outside. They cleaned up after they were finished and were careful with my front lawn. The cost for the project was reasonable. I highly recommend Paul's for any concrete job you have. read more

Can I give a zero star rating? We used Paul and Sons a year or two ago to have the back yard cemented. They came in and tore up the terrible job another contractor did and put down a NICELY cemented foundation all in one day. Fast forward to this summer. After a bad winter, We now need the front stairs and landing redone. Paul and Sons was the first place we thought to call. However, after a month and a half of giving me the run around, I am over them. It took two weeks for them to actually show up for an estimate. Once they came, they left a card showing they came but failed to give a written estimate as promised. I called and of course they said they would call me back in a couple hours. After not hearing from them in three hours, they said they were too busy to take my call and would call the next day. After no call, I called again and they said they would call in an hour once they were in the office. Again, no call. At this time, I asked my wife to call thinking maybe they would respond to a woman. Well, once again we get the brush off. Whoever answered the call said they don't know anything about the business and Paul was BUSY on yet another call. I don't know what the problem is, but I will no longer recommend these guys to my friends and won't be calling on them anymore. Bad business. read more

Paul's Cement Work - I'm over this place. Enough said - Masonry/Concrete Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Paul was very professional. When I called and spoke to him, he told me when and how my job was going to done. I was very pleased with my stucco. He really did an outstanding job. The price and efficiency of the job was awesome. Thank for your professionalism and hard work. read more

We'd been getting water in our basement for months and had been working with our builder as our house is still under the builder's warranty. We wanted a second opinion about the reason for why we're getting water. I made clear that there may not be work in it for Paul as we may have to use our builder's contractor. Despite this, he came to our house and gave us his professional assessment of the issue at hand and solutions. A formal assessment would be a reasonable charge, but this was free. He was really helpful and explained things in a clear, helpful way. Our builder is having us use his guy, so Paul basically did this for free. Great customer service. Hope to use him in the future. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Paul and Paul's Cement Work. We needed new cement blocks and a curb build up after a pipe repair in our new home. Paul answered my phone call on a Sunday evening, arranged to give me an estimate very early the next morning, and completed the work before I even got home from work that day. Paul asked great questions to clarify exactly what I wanted over the phone since I was at work when he stopped by and performed he work exactly how we requested. He gave me a very fair price and did not suggest more work than was necessary. I did not see the team that was there to perform the repair, but neighbors said they seemed like great people! Thanks for an awesome job Paul! I will definitely be recommending you to my family and friends! read more

I had Paul's do some some brick pointing a little over a year ago. Well, most of the pointing fell out. If you want cheap cement work call Paul, I would run the other way read more

Paul was prompt and his workers were friendly and accommodating. Sidewalk looks great!

There are few family busnesses functioning these days, so when you're fortunate enough to come across one dealing in the ancient art of masonry and find that the result is a job well done, you can only consider yourself blessed. Paul's Cement Work is a family run operaton that dates back more than fifty years, and though the operative word is "cement," the work I had done involved the laying of a brick patio. Paul himself was helpful in designing and reconfiguring the area, and along with a six member crew executed the task with consumate skill and efficiency. The entire crew was consistently polite and gracious, not to mention patient when they had to vacate the premises during those times when my dogs had to occupy the garden. As a customer, one of my major requirerments is being able to communicate with those doing work for me. Paul and his crew excelled at this. I never once felt that any change or request was an intruson on the planned design. Needless to say, I look forward to working wth them in the not too distant future. read more

I hired Paul Sr. to point the back wall of my house. The job was so poor Paul Jr. asked what was done . When I told Paul Sr. I wasn't happy with the job he became defensive . I believe I was overcharged because he told me three different prices then settled for the cheapest price . Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. are bullies and I wouldn't recommend their service's to anyone especially a single woman . read more

This review is in no way reflective of this guy's work. But professionalism. I was supposed to have an estimate done at 12:00 noon. I left my job came from downtown to Mt. Airy. 5 minutes before he was to show up, I received a call saying that he was in an accident 2 hours prior. My whole gripe is that he did not call me prior to me leaving work liter all, costing me time and $$. If he had a accident 2 hours before the time he was to arrive why no call then, why 5 minutes before the time he was to arrive. Needless to say I'm going with another contractor. read more

Well let me just say Paul and his guys are a very professional group...I hired Paul to install two poles in front of one of my properties in Philadelphia and I must say I still to this day receive great praise for the way those guys came out and how professional they were....the poles came out great....any future cement jobs I have is going to Paul....thanks Paul read more

We hired Paul to fix the cracked stucco on the side wall of our house. He did a very quick job and the quality was poor. A year later, there are leaks in the house that are worse than before he came to do the job. We had him come back and reassess the job and he wouldn't admit that he had done anything wrong and he also got very defensive. We believed we were overcharged for this job and now we have to think of something else we can afford with the money we have left to fix the wall. We won't be using Paul's services again. read more

stay away!!!!!! this company does not provide written estimates as requested been over 3 weeks and nothing. they come out leave a business card and thats it. what a waste. read more

i hired paul to fix one sidewalk block, i had a water leak in the basement... he said he'd be there in two weeks, by the third weekend i thought he wasn't coming, but monday morning at work he called to say he had done the job.. at first i was elated, it wasn't easy to get a hold of someone to do the work (maybe because the job was so small, i don't know) it even looked ok at first, but as the days went on i could see the color wasn't consistent (he said it hadn't cured yet and in a few weeks it would be all white), it had grey spots.. he told me i should have told him what kind of finish i wanted, which i have no idea of, and he did the job without talking to me and asking me... the cement over the water meter is a bump, not a smooth transition, they didn't saw a line, just pushed the cement over the next block and it was already easy to pull up, it looks terrible and the first thing i saw that made me think this was a cheap fast job, and it looked it when i first complained to him on the phone, he said, oh, i know what this is, you were never going to pay me anyway this is ludicrous, when he came over yesterday to look at it i had the $650 in my purse i've had a lot of work done at my house, i've never not paid anyone and if it's good work i always pay them more he told me it looks fine, i pointed out what i saw, he defended the work and didn't agree with anything i said he left and called back to me "i won't see you in court, but i'll see you.." i asked him if that was a threat and he told me yes.. i filed a police report, i have someone else already that came and pointed out everything i saw including that the water pipe should have been lowered so the side walk was even (like my neighbors 15" away) i have to get it done over and i won't be paying paul anything god knows what he'll do when i tell him i'm not paying him, he has already tried to bully and threaten me, but that doesn't change the poor work that was done read more
