We purchased one awning for the south window and 2 rolling down shades for the two large windows on the front of the house, facing west. The order went smoothly as well as the installation. We have noticed the difference in temperature inside the house. These shades have kept the front rooms and bedroom cooler during the many heat waves we have experienced. We are so glad that we decided on these shades as they making it more comfortable inside the house during heat waves. I contacted Accent awnings in July 2025 to provide quotes for a retractable awning to be placed over the south facing patio door of my home. The salesman, James Whitworth, provided me an on-site quote within a few days of my call-in request. The on-site meeting provided me the answers I needed to select the awning, based on the requirements and on-site measurements at my patio with photos of awning products and written details and descriptions of the awning needed. I contacted two more awning companies for competitive quotes at that time, they required me to do all of the leg work such as taking and sending in photos of the patio, taking measurements, etc. which were emailed to them and needed to get a quote. The quotes provided by the other companies were much higher and as they would not provide an on-site meeting with a salesman before getting a quote, I probably would have been very disappointed with the awning in the long run due to lack of information necessary before install. A meeting with a salesman on-site is necessary in my opinion to see brochures of the various products and options, to explain the manufacturing process and the install, and of course getting the proper on-site measurements before selecting an awning and receiving a quote. The awning was installed a month later due to the lead time to manufacture the awning and I was quite pleased with the install and awning. I ordered another similar awning in early August for another patio door soon thereafter and received the same professional service as for the first awning. I highly recommend this company for awnings and will keep them in mind for future projects. read more

They had to work inside to install a switch, the installer made sure to ask for a sheet to cover the area so the furniture wouldn't get dirty. We just had 2 retractable awnings installed in our yard. We are fully satisfied with the look of the product and crew efficiency. I can't evaluate the quality of the product since we had them just for a day. Hope they will retract for a long time. At this point I just left them open. What I am disappointed by is that we haven't been given professional advice while planning the project. The agent basically just wrote down what I had in mind, gave a quote, got money and left. Our backyard has full sun all day long, right on top moving from left to right. I didn't understand that the awnings won't actually create much shade as the sun is moving and I will still not be able to have really shaded environment. To be honest I would not spend $11k for very partial shade I'd I was advised how the shade works throughout the day. Therefore: make sure you do a good research on how the sun hits your environment and ask them to plan it for you accordingly and ensure you get maximum benefit for this very expensive project.
