I just replaced my awning of over 10 years (also done by Awning Solutions), and am more impressed than ever. Professional, prompt response. They were flexible with working around the other work I had done on the house. I changed the type of gutter, AFTER they had measured for the awning, and they made it work. Looks fabulous. Manny is outstanding to work with as was his crew. Their price is right (very fair), and the quality is excellent. Highly recommend this company. read more

Problem: No protection from sun or rain at the entry doors of our new garage and "companion unit" plus some leaking water in a recent rainstorm. Solution: Install nice-looking awnings over the entry doors and seal the top edges against the building. Manny from Awning Solutions came to our house to see the install location and showed us a variety of awning types and a rainbow of Sunbrella fabric colors and patterns. We decided that three awnings were needed, each a slightly different width. The Awning Solutions team quickly manufactured the needed frames and fabric covers. Installers Joe and Jaime arrived promptly on installation day, attached the finished units, and showed us the best way to clean and care for the fabric, which we expect to last 10 years or longer. Ariana managed our various communications smoothly (including asking for this Yelp review.) When we discovered that the awnings hadn't been sealed (we'd forgotten to specify that detail in our agreement) Joe came back the next day to get it done. Thanks for your good work, folks! The new awnings look great! read more

Choose any other company with good ratings. Terrible phone etiquette. The owner was extremely rude. Talked down to me as if I couldn't grasp what he was saying. He made it seem like he would be doing us a favor if he were to provide us with a quote. Seems like you are bothering an individual not calling a business. I understand you are busy. However this treatment is uncalled for and will result in less clients in your future. read more

A client of mine requested sheet metal awnings be installed as part of a larger project. Having never purchased sheet metal awnings, I had zero idea of where to go or what to budget. A quick google search sent me to Awning Solutions. Their website said that they offer free quotes. I called and asked for a very rough idea for a typical sheet metal awning, for budget purposes only. The person that answered the phones informed me that there "is no such thing as typical, all our work is custom", while that may be true, there must be a baseline number for a small project (3'x3' and 3'x6' awnings seem pretty standard to me). I was again informed that "all our work is custom and if you want a price you need to come in to our showroom". Again, I politely explained that I just need a very rough idea, "would we be safe to budget $200 or $2,000 each?" I asked...and again was informed of the previous and repremanded that "anyone in San Diego will tell you the same thing"....followed by a dial-tone. Yep. They actually hung up on a prospective sale. Um, thanks for saving me the trouble of actually hiring you. read more

Delivered on their estimate with quality and timeliness. I recommend Manny and his crew to anyone who needs new or replacement canvas awnings for their home or business. read more

Manny and his crew rock - no question. His sales person was on our site at precisely the agreed to time, thorough, and accurate. We had a quote almost immediately (vs. 4-5 days from some other well-known places). In bringing our frames to their shop, Manny was very helpful in color selection, and agreed to repaint our frames to match the material (at no additional cost). This is exactly what a great small business does - they work with their customer in all aspects of the business. And to top it off, the window shades were done 4 weeks earlier than other quotes, and the guys knowing the hot spell was upon us installed them first thing Monday AM. You cannot go wrong with Awning Solutions! read more

I gotta tell you that Awning Solutions helped me when the original installing contractor would not return my call (that company will remain nameless). Ariana & Manny listened to my situation, set up an appointment, came out the next work day, and my retractable awning was repaired & re-installed in 2 days. Absolutely awesome company!!! Ownership, office staff, and field workers all took excellent care of me & my awning. If you need awning services, look no further than Awning Solutions. Tell 'em Tim sent you... ; ) read more

I have been searching for a credible and reliable awning company for months and finally found one with Awning Solutions, this is the place to go, I Definitely recommend this place Manny and his staff are very professional and knowledgeable and know what they are doing., now I'm enjoying a "good quality" beautiful retractable awning in my back yard. Thank you Awning Solutions. read more

We recently ordered an awning from them. It turned out beautifully. They did have to do it twice because of a mistake but they just redid it, no problem. They didn't argue or anything, they just admitted the mistake and did it correctly. They were very quick even with the redo. We love the way it turned out and we added a little bit of color to downtown Coronado. read more

Wish I could have something to base my one star off but unfortunately I was never giving the opportunity. I requested a quote for some commercial awning repair or replacement. The owner called me and seemed nice and told me he would have a quote for me by Tuesday or Wednesday. Well when Thursday came around I never recieved a update or call so I Decided to call myself and was told he would call me back as soon as he was back in the office. Well I never recieved that call. Sometimes I wonder how small business stay in business with there customer service and ethics. I mean come on at least keep your customers informed one way or another. It's a shame. read more

I have had Awning Solutions install awnings on a couple properties for me, and they have been great. I've done everything through Manny, and he has been great to work with. They are literally finishing our black and white vertical striped awning on the front of my business as I type this and I couldn't wait to write the review. The craftsmanship is amazing, their scheduling was easy and flexible, and the workers were friendly and knowledgeable... couldn't ask for anything better. Thanks for making my business stand out guys. I will be recommending you to everyone I know. read more

We hired Awning Solutions to provide our backyard with five "privacy" sails, to construct six patio furniture covers and to construct a long, complicated BBQ and outdoor kitchen countertop cover. The sails were strongly anchored and were placed exactly where we needed them to hide the unsightly power lines in a crowded area in Pacific Beach. Making the BBQ cover was a difficult project; but, Manny and his crew made it to fit the countertop with sink and grill. The outdoor furniture covers were all matched for pattern. The finished products were all professional and used Sunbrella fabric (10-year guarantee). They were far superior to covers usually purchased in stores. We are extremely pleased with the result, the quality of the materials and workmanship and the professionalism of all the Awning Solution crew. Pat L. San Diego, CA read more

Manny was awesome!!! We hired him based on work he did for a friend of ours. When he came to our home, we told him what we wanted. Manny made excellent suggestions regarding the design, color, overall effect, etc...He created a MASTERPIECE of a patio cover at our home. His crew was professional and meticulous. Their work was excellent. We are already planning a second outdoor area of our home that will require a patio cover in the future, and we will definitely hire Manny again. read more

I found this company on Yelp and after reading the reviews sent an email asking for a bid to replace our awning that was damaged in a recent storm. I saw others mention in their reviews that they emailed in measurements to save the company some time from coming out to do the measurements themselves. That sounded reasonable, so I sent a photo of our damaged awning and my husband drew out the measurements. I got an email from Ariana the office manager asking if Manny had already given us a quote. Apparently my husband's handwriting looks like Manny's. I assured her my husband drew it out on the back of an envelope. She apologized and said she'd get me a quote by the next morning. I waited a couple days, and checked in again. She promised by the end of the day. Nothing. I asked again, and again another promise for the next day. That was 13 days ago. I was promised a quote 3 times and never received anything. Of course at this point, I have no interest in doing business with this company. It seems like Manny has great reviews, but we never got the chance to interact with him or his crew. read more

Awning Solutions, Inc. installed awnings for my neighbor several months back. Although my neighbor wasn't happy about how the striped pattern was seamed together on the main awning at the front of her house, I decided to contact them anyway knowing seams wouldn't be an issue as I planned on using a solid color for mine. Five days after leaving a voice mail during business hours to arrange for an estimate, I'd heard nothing back. I called again and this time spoke with "Ariana" who made it clear they were flush with business and had no interest in working around my extremely busy schedule to arrange for the work. She suggested I measure the awnings myself and get back to her with numbers. She'd then get back to me with a price. Huh??? When is it my job to do your job for you? The lack of a response to my telephone message, along with their unwillingness to arrange a visit convenient to me, hints strongly that Awning Solutions doesn't value their customers, at least when money is coming in hand over fist. The upcoming "El Nino" has obviously brought abundant work to such companies who now have little incentive to work with customers, even when business is by referral and virtually guaranteed. Glad I found that out before committing to what would have been thousands of dollars in work. I'd prefer to give my money to a company that appreciates my time and is willing to go the extra mile if needed. read more

Am I wrong, or is the name of their firm AWNING Solutions? Their website has lots of pretty pictures of awnings. So I left two messages asking for them to bid on an awning. They never called me back. I wish I could give them a more informed rating. But if they don't even return calls, they get 2 stars. Not sure how they stay in business! read more

OMG the worst service I have EVER dealt with in my life. Customer service customer service customer service is all I can say.

This company made and installed a large awning over some windows on the back of my houses few years ago. It looks great and they WERE very professional. Past tense. HOWEVER I now want another awning to match (or possibly 3) and I have left a few phone messages and a few emails and no one has answered the phone and I've gotten no reply at all. They can't even be bothered to call and say they are too busy. I am disappointed and the guy who originally helped me has left the company. I guess the job isn't big enough for them. When business slows down they may regret their failure to reply to messages. I am looking elsewhere and will do so in the future when I get awnings for the rest of the house. read more

I'm re-reviewing because I got a call back that told me they've been having issues with their website. However, still completely ignored that I actually talked to someone there who told me Manny would call me back in 20 minutes. That has nothing to do with their website. read more

Manny and his team recovered our existing frames with the sunbrella fabric of my choice. The first time they reinstalled them we had to send them back because the fabric did not lay correctly. The were reinstalled and my husband noticed some of the seams had not been properly glued down, again they did come out and correct the problem. In the end they look nice, giving a little lower rating due to the problems, it would be nice if they could have done it right the first time. Would I use them again, yes I would give them another try. read more

When I remodeled my backyard on a budget a few years back I was looking to do a giant sail shade. Since I did 90% of the construction myself I needed people who were flexible and would only do specific portions of the job. The guys at Awning Solutions were by far the best fit after many, many bids. They welded the huge poles up for me and delivered them so I could drill and sink them myself. The only reason I knew what to do is because they told me exactly. Then they came in and strung up my monster 26×24 shade that they sewed up. This review is a long tome coming. As I sit out back, under my gorgeous sail shade on a rainy night, almost 4 years later, I felt prompted to give them the props they deserve. Thanks fellas...much appreciated. read more

We hired Awning Solutions to replace our awning cover that wore out after 6 years. Manny (the owner), came out and was very pleasant and informative. Measurements were taken and a pattern selected. The installation crew were also cordial and efficient, replacing the awning cover in less than 20 minutes. After the installers left, I noticed that the awning canvas did not extend the full length of the awning, it was approximately an inch short on one side. I called Manny and sent him some photos, he acknowledged the error and said he would replace the cover, and give us a discount. That's great customer service. We will recommend Awning Solutions to friends and family. read more

We were looking for someone to come out and troubleshoot an awning that was stuck in the open position. Every place we found seemed more intent on selling us a new awning, or else they ignored us and never called back, but Manny was different. He came out with two guys, figured out the problem, and then only charged us $40 total for the service. I watched him give the two $20 bills to his guys and walk away with nothing for himself. If we decide to replace these awnings at some point, this will be the first phone call I make. read more

I called Awning Solutions based on having read other Yelp reviews, and the highest ratings are in fact deserved. I called to arrange a home visit for an estimate, and that happened two days later. The estimate was lower than the 3 others we had in hand. Further, Manny advised that we didn't need to replace the hardware from our current worn-out awnings. He said they would clean up the hardware and that it would continue to work just fine. We accepted the bid and authorized the work by phone, and they were installed a little over a week later. Manny tells you when they are coming to measure, and when they are coming to install. I didn't need to miss a minute of work because he managed the entire project from outside the house. The awnings are in place, and they look beautiful. He uses the Sunbrella fabric, so they should hold up well. So this is a company that makes it so so easy to do business with them. Their prices are great, their scheduling is convenient, their quality is first-rate, their communications are straightforward, and I didn't have a single hiccup throughout the process. I should have done this years ago. read more

We contacted Awning Solutions to inquire about replacing the canvas on our current outdoor awning. They were very responsive and informative and provided a quote for us right away. From Ariana (who helped schedule our removal/install), to Manny the owner (who provided the quote and I communicated with to select the fabric design), to the two gentlemen that came to do the install of the final finished awning - everyone was just wonderful. The installers also gave up tips on keeping the awning in tip top shape and were friendly and efficient. We LOVE our new awning and it was a true delight working with this company - the whole process was so convenient and we couldn't have asked for a better end result!! Thanks Awning Solutions! read more

Phenomenal Service! Manny and his team are by far the best in San Diego. I looked around and got two other quotes before finding Awning Solutions. Manny arrived on time and provided me with all the information I needed based on what I wanted for my home. The price quoted was by far the best I had received. Within 72 hours of placing my order I had a brand new beautiful awning cover for an exterior window of my home. If your looking for affordable, professional, timely and quality service definitely check out Manny & his team, you won't be disappointed! read more

Manny made custom awnings for my condo last fall. My condo is located in Pacific Beach very near the ocean. I know from past experience that if you don't use the best products at the beach they just won't last. Awning Solutions removed my old awnings and custom measured and made new awnings for all my doors and sliding door openings. We were having the exterior painted first so Manny powder coated all the new gal poles with the same color as the stucco. When they were installed they matched perfectly and are quite eye appealing and all value to the overall exterior. I also had custom roll-up shade made for the patio area. The material is very high quality and should last many years. I had several bids before I selected Awnings Solutions and they were the best price for the custom work my job required. I would highly recommend Awning Solutions for any customer wanting quality at a fair price. read more

I never heard back from them after Manny came out to my house to give me an estimate for awnings. He measured, showed me samples and said that he would send me the estimate and pictures (on photo shop) with different colors. Since I heard nothing for a weak, I sent an email, called his number and then called the office, where I was told that he would send the estimate that evening... Silence...disappointing. Don't want my business, I assume. read more

Manny, owner of Awning Solutions took on our job of recovering a cabana bar that had a canvas top. He put on seamed metal awning and it looks awesome! He is honest, very attentive to detail and wouldn't quit until he was totally satisfied. Can't fault Manny and his team, super efficent awning installers who were very professional and knowledgeable and quick. Manny had quoted me over a year ago for my deck and i had not been able to proceed, a year later i called him up he came straight out and the quote 12 MONTHS LATER was still nearly the same. I had been quoted by two other installers and Awning Solutions was at least $2000.00 cheaper than their competition. I have told him I will be a reference for any of his potential customers if he would like I am one very happy individual who now has a long awaited waterproof and attractive looking deck. read more

Manny & his crew, Carlos & Antonio are great. Manny came out quickly to give me a quote. It was very reasonable that I didn't have to get another quote. The turn around was quick, about a week. I live in IL most of the time, yet own a condo in San Diego. I scheduled an appt. for an estimate 3weeks in advance of my arrival. Less than abhor before the scheduled arrival time, Manny cancels reporting a "fender bender" rescheduling for "tomorrow." (Sat.) After are-arranging Sat. plans to ensure I would be home, Manny no call-no shows. I call the office and leave a msg. Never heard from them again. This seems to be a recurring problem. read more

We desperately needed an awning to keep the sun from blazing into our TV room and did exhaustive research before we settled on Manny and his team. I've read the reviews that complain about not getting called back and, I too had to be persistent. However, their delays in returning messages had no impact on the product, delivery, or the installation, all of which was high quality and very professional. I agree with what Jon K wrote in his review: Manny's character and work product all reflect his military background and I would use no other company for my awning needs. read more

We had an old custom made crank in and out awning that covered our patio. The company was no longer in business and we knew better than to fall for all the ads that tell you they will sell you awnings for unbelievable low prices. We've known people who got those and they are imported, cheap fabric and don't last a year. We called Awning Solutions and Manny came out right away, gave us a detailed bid and helped us pick a color that we are very happy with. They custom make them and are fast, installation is quick and everyone we dealt with was very professional. We have no complaints, would highly recommend this company and we like that the money we spent stays here in San Diego. read more

We have used Awning Solutions in two rounds for a multi-faceted backyard project, and we have had a positive experience with both Manny (owner) and his crew. They are probably very busy because I did have some trouble getting things going with them in the very beginning of the process (last year), but my persistence and proactive communication paid off and was well worth it, because now I wouldn't use any other company. Manny is retired military and his character reflects that. Competitive prices, excellent quality, and he is honest. He also looks for solutions to unusual project requests, and the result was a better and more user-friendly solution than the suggestions of other companies we contacted. (Ours involved exterior sunroom shades, but we also preferred and purchased their version of retractable window shades for a bedroom and bath.) There was no staff turnover in his crew from last year to this, so he must treat them well. Like another reviewer, I similarly had an "extra" request both years that didn't involve their products but did involve their tools and manpower, and Manny gave that modest asking price directly to his crew without wanting any for himself. Be persistent and you will be glad you contracted with them. read more
