I would assume you confirm your schedule at least a day before. My phone was on silent and i missed the call and when I realized it was past appt time, I checked and had a missed call . Strike 1. We rescheduled as he explained they get burned and need to confirm appt (ok, maybe do the day before). He did show at the next appt during our scheduled appt time, measures a few windows and I had to track down quote because he forgot to send. I finally tried to order and he lost the invoice, which i resent him, then I was ghosted. I wanted to try and love, but didnt even get the chance. On to a more responsive, organized company I guess.

Hunter Douglas Roller Shades - Measurement Issues…read more We have owned Hunter Douglas shades in multiple homes and have always liked the quality of the products. This review is not about the shades themselves, but about the measurement and installation. We had previously worked with San Diego Shades and had a great experience, which makes this outcome especially disappointing. This time, instead of their technician, they sent the sales rep to do the measurements. All of the shades installed in our home were measured and cut slightly too small, leaving the wooden window frames visible on the sides when the shades are fully closed. While this may sound minor, it affects both the look and function of the shades. The issue is most noticeable in our bedroom, where we installed motorized room-darkening roller shades. Light still comes through the sides, which defeats the purpose of a room-darkening shade. I raised my concerns right after the upstairs bedroom installations, but the issue was dismissed with an explanation that didn't address the problem and did not and does not make sense. At the time, we were in the middle of multiple home projects, and I assumed I would eventually get used to them. I didn't -- and it continues to bother me every time I see them. When the downstairs shades were installed and had the same issue, I escalated the concern to a supervisor, and two of the cheaper shades were eventually replaced. Unfortunately, the bedroom shades were never corrected. Even now, the measurement issue is noticeable and frustrating. For a professional installation, I expected better attention to detail and follow-through. My advice: carefully review measurements and finished results before signing off.

Now that the shutters are installed, I'm so glad we were able to make it happen. Our home looks completely transformed. The turn-around time was most impressive. A co-worker told me we might have to wait 2-3 months for shutters to be manufactured. We also recently replaced our windows and didn't want to re-hang the old blinds. Express Blinds had custom shutters made for 18 windows, a sliding door, and a half-circle window in 3 weeks! We worked with Linda to arrange for the installation to follow within a week of the window installation. She too is top-notch professional. It was very easy to schedule the delivery and install of the curtains, I got regular updates on where things were while we were waiting on delivery. Our garage is detached, so we could not lock our old patio doors, meaning if we wanted to use our garage, we either had to leave the house unlocked or walk around the block to our front door. We were told by all the other contractors that our doorway was a weird size, and that they were unable to install the doors without cutting into our drywall and stucco and removing our patio stairs. We were also told this would be a project that took multiple days. I posted our other quotes to Yelp to see if other contractors could beat it, and Sivan responded. Oded from Sivan came in and confirmed what I suspected: That what we were told by other contractors was wrong, and that they could easily replace our sliding patio doors with French doors with a lock, and that it could be done via retrofitting and would only take a matter of hours. Everyone at Sivan was easy to work with. My husband and I frequently have meetings during the day, so it's hard to have a call about house stuff. Everyone at Sivan was able to communicate via e-mail and text so we could handle things while in meetings, and they were super responsive even though we sometimes took months to respond because we had a baby since we originally reached out to them. We were able to get our doors done for $4,298.80, which was the best quote we had from any contractor and included labor, materials, and a warranty. In sum, we highly recommend Sivan if you are looking to replace your doors!

My Wife and I had them come out in August to give us a estimate on two sliding glass doors for down stairs for shutters as we had used them before in 2008 for sliding door we had in our master bedroom. The shutter still looks as good as the day they installed it due to quality of products they use and install made here in there own factory. This is a family owned business. Jamie who came out to us in 2008 came out in August to us again for the estimate. It was good to see her. She is a no pressure type person and measures explains the materials and cost different type of doors and is also one of the owners. We made our choice and put down a deposit and talked about Daniel the installer who came out in 2008 and what a great job he did and how polite neat and the way he cleaned up after he was done. Jamie said he still worked for the company and did we want him to install the new shutters? and we said yes. According to the California Contractor's License Board, for all intents and purposes, Shuttermart is no longer a legally operating business as it has no licenses or licensed operating personnel registered not any bonding or surety coverage. I called the phone number given on the still-operating website and was informed that the number is no longer in service. The company was supposedly purchased and operating as an DBA for Shutters N 7. This entire industry appears to have undergone tremendous upheaval and shows little if any positive direction mostly because it appears to be basically being run as mom & pop shops...I don't know what you are going to do with your money, but my money will be funneled through companies that I can rely on and deal with for the long term, i.e. Home Depot, Lowes, stores of that ilk. read more

I am so impressed with the Designer, Jon Gardner, that came out. He had a great feel for what I wanted, and suggested. Since I was removing old shutters and replacing windows, his suggestions were spot on. He made numerous trips during the period of time that the windows were going in, the new wall, countertops, and kept in touch. I was thrilled that I will get some credits, as we all need on our taxes. I would highly recommend Shuttermart, from the Designer, to the installation. I ordered custom Z-frame basswood shutters with 4.5" louvres that were all handmade & hand finished. After getting bids from the largest shutter dealers (Elizabeth, Danmer & Avalon), I finally decided to contact a local company. I'm thankful that I did bc not only are the Yelp reviews spot on, but the shutter quality and prices can't be beat. Jimmy was prepared to show me samples and answer the full spectrum of questions from build quality, installation technique & warranties. The shutters are 100% basswood with powder coated non-mortise hinges for a tight fit, rabbeted stiles between shutter panels, and thick paint that's smooth to the touch. It took 6-weeks from the day I ordered until installation & they were absolutely worth the wait.

Hunter Douglas Roller Shades - Measurement Issues…read more We have owned Hunter Douglas shades in multiple homes and have always liked the quality of the products. This review is not about the shades themselves, but about the measurement and installation. We had previously worked with San Diego Shades and had a great experience, which makes this outcome especially disappointing. This time, instead of their technician, they sent the sales rep to do the measurements. All of the shades installed in our home were measured and cut slightly too small, leaving the wooden window frames visible on the sides when the shades are fully closed. While this may sound minor, it affects both the look and function of the shades. The issue is most noticeable in our bedroom, where we installed motorized room-darkening roller shades. Light still comes through the sides, which defeats the purpose of a room-darkening shade. I raised my concerns right after the upstairs bedroom installations, but the issue was dismissed with an explanation that didn't address the problem and did not and does not make sense. At the time, we were in the middle of multiple home projects, and I assumed I would eventually get used to them. I didn't -- and it continues to bother me every time I see them. When the downstairs shades were installed and had the same issue, I escalated the concern to a supervisor, and two of the cheaper shades were eventually replaced. Unfortunately, the bedroom shades were never corrected. Even now, the measurement issue is noticeable and frustrating. For a professional installation, I expected better attention to detail and follow-through. My advice: carefully review measurements and finished results before signing off.
