    Lunch Burrito Asada
    Rafael D.

Attentive and hospitable staff, delicious food made well, ambience felt comfortable. Lunch specials are a treat - flavorful and seasoned well, and gave a great portion at an affordable price (like $10 for the burrito I had gotten for lunch hours). If I end up back in Xenia, I would go back to this place.

    Moldie flan
    May C.

We originally went to Xenia from Fairborn for another food option, but things did not work out. We did a take out, even tho they offered sit in today. I am giving it a one star.. because any place that serves moldie food clearly does not care about the customers. When we got home, my husband discovered this moldie flan. When he called the restaurant they said they "just made" more flan (and anyone who knows flan knows it is a several hour process... not a quick make). My husband could hear them talking in the background in spanish telling the worker they have to check the food before sending it out (they were not aware apparently my husband speaks Spanish). Highly not recommend this place for sanitation. I am praying we dont get sick from the food (We didnt discover this flan till after meal).

FANTASTIC street tacos and incredibly friendly service!

This review will be short for the time being, but I wanted to leave it ASAP because I see so many one star reviews for this place, even from yelp elites. I had an amazing experience here. I speak a tiny bit of Spanish, and the staff was super happy about chatting with me in Spanish even if mine was broken. They were immensely friendly, and even served me a very very inexpensive top-shelf tequila while I waited for my take out order of street tacos. And let me tell you these Al Pastor tacos are some of the best I've had anywhere including AZ. TX, CA, NY, and DC. They only have indoor seating, so if you're concerned to catch Covid, just get to go. If you're confused by the rest of the menu, just get the street tacos. You won't be sorry, they are fantastic.

    Fun decor

It was a busy Saturday night... this place was jumping! That meant our server, while polite, was rarely seen (hence the three stars). The food was worthy of four stars... all was delicious (especially the mole), but my dad's burrito had a processed-tasting cheese sauce. It was sort of metallic and unpleasant. My husband ordered his usual: steak with peppers and onions. He said it was the best he's had in years! Big props for the decor - it is colorful and fun. Will we be back? Not sure. I'd rather get takeout from Victor's down the block and save myself the noise and long wait.

Masks seem to be optional for both staff and most patrons. Not feeling real safe right now. Any more and we are out of here. On the positive, food was good. Wish the staff was more attentive to COVID precautions.

We were visiting from Pittsburgh always like to try local Mexican Restaurants. Acapulco was close enough for us to walk to, so we gave it a try. GREAT CHOICE! As soon as we walked in the door, the smells were wonderful! I had a huge margarita, and they didn't forget the tequila! We had Churoqueso for an app. Delicious! My friends had a chimichanga and a burrito, and I had a seafood dish who's name I don't recall, but was absolutely marvelous. My friends raved about their choices as well. Portions were huge. Service was extremely quick and friendly. If I lived closer I'd go there once a month. So if you're ever near Xenia OH, you owe it to yourself to check it out. You'll be glad you did!

If this were the only Mexican restaurant in the area, then it wouldn't be a bad choice. However, we're a bit "spoiled" here in the Springfield/Dayton area when it comes to Mexican-style restaurants, and this was not nearly as good as some other local choices. Not awful, but not nearly as good as others... We arrived at about 6:30 on a Thursday evening, and there were a few other occupied tables, including a party of about eight people, but it didn't feel crazy busy. We were seated at a long table right behind the barrier separating the LH side dining area from the entrance, so we shouldn't have been too hard to miss, but two or three different servers and the hostess all walked by us two or three times before deciding to take our drink orders or bring over chips and salsa. They sort of looked us right in the eye ("I know you're there, amigo...") but kept on going, which I could understand IF they had been busier, but since we were seated right near the entrance, we could sort of see/hear that at least part of the time, they were just hanging out... (Sorry, I'm also blessed/cursed to be fluent in Spanish, and can understand BS in several different languages...) The wait wasn't too bad (chips were fine and salsa was good and WARM/HOT!!) and when our orders were taken, the drinks and food came out quickly, SURPRISINGLY fast, like we had called in ahead. Mr. M&P ordered flautas, which arrived semi BURNT around the edges (from reheating?) and my alambre, which was a mix of chicken, chorizo, cheese and pineapple, and not bad at all, but needed a bit of that well-seasoned salsa to give it more zip. All in all, not bad, but not really up to par with some of the other Mexican choices in the area. Go for it if you're in the area, but not really worth a special trip.

    Chimichanga
    Tim E.

Recommend by and here for lunch with cousins who regulars here. The place is nicely decorated and staff is friendly. I had the lunch chimichanga topped with guacamole sour cream and tomato served with beans. Chimichanga was good lunch size and great taste. I sampled the guacamole witch was also very good. Everyone's meal looked good.

Fantastic food, 20% off margaritas on Saturday, and exceptional service. I think this maybe be a new tradition for my boyfriend and I!

Caveat: Vallarta Mexican Seafood is several rungs above the average Tex-Mex joint in the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area. We really enjoy Sonora Grill Seafood Steak Bar & Grill, and Vallarta Mexican Seafood merits special attention as well. On our radar: La Poblanita Mexican Market and restaurant. A note on stars; Sonora Grille is on Burkhardt, and in a small strip mall; I am not inclined to award a strip mall restaurant 5 stars; however.... Vallarta Mexican Seafoodis also in a small strip mall with plenty of free parking. Folks inclined to visit and dine at The Greene might go west to visit Vallarta Mexican Seafood. Travel Tip: do check menu Spanish definitions to avoid order errors. We can depend upon Yelp whilst researching: Here are 5 Star Reviews for Vallarta Mexican Seafood. Several of these reviews encouraged us to visit Vallarta Mexican Seafood: ...but their food is SO GOOD!! Fresh, flavorful, not your typical Mexican restaurant. Visiting from Seattle and was looking for some good authentic Mexican cuisine. Found it here! Vallarta Mexican & Seafood... a MUST try for super fresh, delicious, LARGE portion seafood! Amazing service, fantastic portion sizes, and the food was awesome! will definitely be back! Throughout our 60 year relationship, my wife enjoys dessert as an appetizer, and today is no exception. The Churro's are delivered in a flash; we discovered this special treat nearly 50 years ago during an expedition to Spain and Portugal. The very best Churro's were prepared by roadside vendors, and our friends, Bill and Ellen Rose agreed. Neat ambience, and delightful service. Music is Boomer Music.... My wife insisted on MAR Y TIERRA - Mexican Surf and Turf. Grilled chicken, steak and shrimp served with rice, charro beans, sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes - expect a togo box. My son elected QUESADILLA DE ASADA A flour tortilla filled with your choice of grilled meat, stuffed with cheese, grilled bell peppers, onions and tomatoes. Served with rice. And I selected Steak PARRILADAsteak cooked with bell peppers, tomatoes and onions. Served with rice, charro beans, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and flour tortillas - expect a togo box. Mine was so unappetizing that I couldn't eat it. Got a box to go and then forgot it on the table when I left. I ordered the Enchiladas Suiza. It comes with green sauce. Not mine. It was served with melted cheese and a couple of pieces of canned green chilies were sprinkled under the cheese. I've had this elsewhere and know what to expect. Also, their menu here shows the green sauce that is typical for the dish and it mentions the green sauce in the description. The chicken pieces were dry, unseasoned and very chewy. The tortillas were gooey. My husband's Coconut Shrimp was so overcooked that it was hard to bite into and hard to chew. The rice with it was terrible. The mango salsa served with the shrimp was the only decent item on the plate. He left most of his food also. We won't return. We gave this place three tries. It's just not good food. The service was friendly and quick. It's the only thing positive about this restaurant.
