If the restaurant had been located in Phoenix instead of the boonies of Ohio it would be the local neighborhood secret, a place everybody would go for great food. It's tiny, but it's good. I had zero weight for a sit. I had as long for them to get my food is your average restaurants take to get my drinks. I wasn't there for anything fancy, and I got quite reasonable given the stupidly high prices of everything nowadays, for a decent lunch. Lola's is the best Mexican food we've ever had at a restaurant. The owner is great! The staff is great! And the food is off the chart great! Chimichangas are huge and so flavorful. The shrimp tacos are loaded with large and perfectly grilled shrimp. The portions are large and always cooked to perfection. We've never ordered anything that wasn't great! Our only negative is their salsa is bland and too runny for our taste. We prefer chunks of tomatoes and onions in our salsa. But hands down their food is superb! read more

PERFECT!! A great little "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant, hidden away right in the middle of the equally "hole in the wall" town (village?) of Cedarville. We wandered in at around 1:30-2pm on a Saturday and had the place, and the wonderful, personable waitress (daughter of Lola, who's passing down her wonderful recipes), owner, and cook all to ourselves. This new restaurant (opened 9/2019) is definitely a labor of love for this family, including their two cute kiddos, and it definitely shows. Simple, nothing "fancy," just VERY good food, made with HEART. We ordered from their dinner menu, the lunch menu is only available on weekends, no problem there. PLENTY of tempting choices, some standards and some great surprises, including the BEST, FRESHEST (and most colorful!!) plate of chiles rellenos I've had since leaving Mexico!! The Mr's carne asada was great as well, and we both left full and happy!! We'll make the trip back to sample more of their menu, including their tamales, which they make to order and sell by the dozen. Amazing food, great price, great service, I like hot sauce but beware the hot sauce is hotter than shit

We have been awaiting the opening of this new restaurant in Cedarville and it was worth the wait. Pros- the food was delicious! We got the Abuelas Burrito, pork chimichanga, Tex mex enchiladas, and tacos de carnitas. All were very tasty. I got a tamale on the side and that was the highlight, with the verde sauce it was over the top. My son's burrito was massive! My chimichanga was stuffed full of meat and the cheese on top was good. Overall, the food was really good. Cons-they were a bit slow, but they (the owner I assume) came over to apologize and they are still just slammed, especially due to it being homecoming in town. Also, know there is a 3% surcharge for using credit card, which is a tad annoying these days. Overall, I would recommend for sure! read more

I just love this little hometown Mexican restaurant. We ordered a new item, a Quesapizza , and it was terrific. It's basically a Mexican pizza with your choice of ingredients. We had ground beef but you can have chicken, barbecoa, or vegetarian. We loved it. The owner came over to talk to us and he's someone you can tell loves what he does. Atmosphere isn't bad but kind of plain but the food is really good. Come support this nice family the next time you're near Cedarville, Ohio. You won't be disappointed. read more

Stumbled upon this gem 10 minutes from Yellow Springs. fresh, hot, authentic food. Owner came and chatted with us. All recipes from his family members. Had the al pastor tacos and they were heavenly! Just ordered $28 worth of food from Lola's food truck, we ordered beef / steak burrito, the meat was old, after a bite or two realized it was spoiled, so threw it in trash, the salsa is watery / no flavor whatsoever, the second burrito, chicken was not spoiled but still not good, just not seasoned well, the chips were awful, they had a plastic like taste to them, our experience was ridiculously bad, this is third time we have tried them, really wanted to support them but the food is just not freshly prepared nor seasoned well, very disappointing, I hope they figure out how to improve. read more

We are regulars at Lolas who stopped in yesterday after the Labor Day parade. The service was great (as usual) and all of our usuals were very tasty (again, as usual, the guacamole was killer!). But we had a big surprise. We've tried a lot of meals on their menu and were quite surprised yesterday to have the best one yet - the Camarones Vera Cruz. The shrimp were great but the sweet chipotle sauce with fresh mushrooms and onions was really special. My wife doesn't like spicy stuff and she loved this meal. Don't miss out on the Camarones Vera Cruz. It was so good I forgot about my flan for desert! read more

A group of 22 of us descended on Lola's this evening. We asked if we could eat outside and the owners were happy to let us. They had to move some tables, do a little sweeping and then wipe the tables. They obviously went out of their way for us. The food was delicious and the serving size was perfect. Small place but great Mexican food! The service was good and we felt good patronizing a local owner instead of a chain. I had the special, red tacos. They were really good and not too spicy for my Ohio palate. There are a couple picnic tables outside also if you like to eat outside. Yummy food. If you like it hot, ask for extra sauces for the heat. They don't really advertise that. That said, if you don't like hot/spicy food, you can still order something delicious! Food is also good "to go", as well as in person dining. Take your Spanish class kids and let them order in Spanish! Staff is nice. Only downside is that the dining area is very open as a large square. So, when you go in, expect to be able to identify all the current customers if you are local. Ambiance is not great for an intimate dining experience. I would prefer higher backed booths that create more privacy, with booth positioning that would help with the same. Great service, the people are so kind and welcoming. There's free chips and salsa that are good but not extraordinary. The food was good, no huge complaints. I got the burrito supremo and it was pretty good, it kinda tasted like Taco Bell so that could be a good or bad thing depending on your tastes. Again, the workers were great and so kind.
