Authentic and tasty. Each tortilla is made fresh, by hand, for each order. They have guacamole upon request!

This place is legit. The torta weighs about 6 pounds, please comment if you finished it in one sitting. So good. Thanks!

They have about a dozen items on their menu. Don't serve guacamole, chips, or dip, pico. Sanitation rating 84.5.

Our waitress was patient and polite, explaining the dishes and answering questions with a smile. The decor was very festive. We all ended up ordering the same meal and let me just say it was delicious! I've been on an ACP kick for a while and wanted something different. So so good!

La Carreta is a long term, tried and true option in Thomasville. I've been enjoying food here well…read moreover 20 years, and it's consistently good. With fresh choices, a large menu, generous portions, and reasonable pricing, you can't go wrong here. If you're dining in, the chips are fresh and the salsa tasty with just the right amount of spice. The cheese dip is always a winner. The guacamole is not my favorite in terms of consistency (too smooth) but it usually tastes good too. Today's visit was takeout. We got a Grande Burrito and a Burrito Paisa. They were both massive and lasted multiple meals over the week. I'm a huge fan of the Burrito Paisa with the spicy sauce, and it'll make you sweat! I will say it's annoying they add a forced gratuity for takeout orders (they've always charged a container fee, but now add the gratuity.) This isn't uncommon these days, but I still dislike it. I'd love to see the addition of online ordering to keep up with the era. But all told, a great consistent choice that never disappoints me.

**Update** I won't remove a star for this incident, but I…read morewill add that I am quite frustrated after deciding to bring my grandmother and fiancé here for lunch today (the Saturday after Thanksgiving) and experiencing an unexpected menu change. Apparently the menu is slightly different on the weekend. For starters there are no lunch specials and some regular menu options (which I thought were pretty basic Mexican options) are unavailable. Without really studying the menu beforehand (because I came already knowing what I wanted) when the waiter asked me what I wanted, I was confused at his reaction when I told him I'd like to have a beef burrito and a side of rice (which is on the weekday lunch menu). Low and behold burritos are not offered on the weekends. Yeah... really?! Apparently burrito wraps are offered, but they're not the same thing. So, anyway, just make sure you actually read over the menu and save yourself the confusion, embarrassment, and of course, frustration. -------------------------------- I must confess that I've visited this restaurant a few times and was really conflicted about posting a review simply because this my friends, is one of Thomasville's best kept secrets. While I wanted to keep this secret among myself and a few close-knit loved ones, I also really want the business to thrive and keep its doors open! Thomasville has several Mexican Restaurants to choose from, but this is hands down my new personal favorite. I was honestly expecting this place to remain closed after the COVID closings because it was only up and running a month or two before COVID hit. It actually took the place of where "Legends" restaurant used to be. My mom and I just happen to be riding by about a month ago and noticed a few cars in the parking lot. We didn't get a chance to give them a try when they first opened, so we were excited to see that they managed to open their doors again! What this restaurant is not: This restaurant is not loud visually or audibly. Here you will not find any fancy artwork on the walls or themed pieces strung about, mariachi bands or live entertainment, not even loud Mexican vibe music over hidden tucked away speakers, and there are no alcoholic beverages on the menu. So don't expect to bring the crew over for some loud fun and margaritas. This is simply not that kind of place. What you will find here: This is a small, but quiet and cozy, family place, nestled on the very end of a little strip of shops on Julian Avenue. If you go by too fast, you'll likely miss it, so take my word for it and go by slowly. It is family owned and every visit I've seen the owner present, checking on the customers or at least greeting you on your way in or thanking you on your way out. Additionally, every server I've had so far has been genuinely nice and checked on me throughout my stay. These people really take care of their customers. The food: Most recently I popped in for a quick late lunch. It was around 1:00 upon arrival and there were only two other tables sitting besides me. This place has never been extremely busy so far, but the more popular Mexican places around town are all most people know. Immediately after sitting I received my complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were nice and warm and fresh because of the soft crunch. The salsa is mild, mainly to suit everyone. I did learn before leaving today that they do over a hot salsa upon request! I'll definitely have to try that next visit! This visit I chose a lunch special - a beef burrito with rice. The beef burrito comes stuffed with ground beef with cheese sauce and ranchero sauce on top plus a hefty side serving of rice (or one side of your choosing). Everything I've ever ordered came out in about ten minutes or less, nice and hot, and fresh. One visit my mom ordered her food with a side of the Crema sauce to try. It did take a little while to bring out her sauce, but they apparently made a small batch nice and fresh, just for us - so nice! The Pollo Adobo is also excellent if you're a meat and veggie lover! It is grilled chicken with grilled onions, bell peppers, spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms, topped with shredded cheese, and served with two sides. My mom and I both highly recommend giving that a try. That is what she ordered the side of Crema sauce for. The Crema sauce is a white creamy sauce with a hint of sour cream for anybody curious.

They were super accommodating, we had plenty of food and very reasonable. My boss was very happy…read morewith the price and food. They do not deliver but they will help you load your car and the food was delicious.

We also got an appetizer of corn ribs because... that stuff is delicious. I appreciate the tea being brought in GIANT glasses, as I was never wanting for a refill. I don't see why more places don't do this, what an easy way to relieve your server of a common service pain point. There was also a birthday party while we were there, and let me tell you, the entire restaurant... lights, music, and all... shifts into party mode when it's time to sing that person a song. Pretty impressive. Anyway, back to the food. We did enjoy the corn ribs, but they were pretty messy and difficult to eat. I have seen some examples at other places where the kernels were easier to get at, or you could even eat the husk part because it was so thin. Also, we would have liked a little more, the ribs did not even really add up to a full large ear of corn. The fajitas for two were really good and a huge portion. Very tender meat and veggies. We would have liked to see more pineapple. The chunks were small and a little sparse on the skillet, so in the end, we didn't get much of that tropical flavor. In the end, it wasn't enough to deduct a star as we had an excellent overall experience. Thanks amigos!

Despite the "Taco" designation right there in the name, you'd be foolish to think this place is…read morejust another Mexican restaurant. In reality, there is a full complement of several Latin American cuisines on offer here, along with some dishes that you would find on a typical Tex-Mex menu. Most of the menu is in English, or has an English explanation, but there were a few items that were only in Spanish that I had to look up quickly on my phone. That was okay by me, as most of it is easy to understand if you've been to several hispanic restaurants in your life. But what is important here is the food, and the food is absolutely delicious, as well as unique enough to make me drive out to Thomasville again sometime so I can try more things! I went with a seafood dish "Camarones al Mojo de Ajo" (Shrimp in a buttered garlic sauce) and let me tell you... I usually avoid shrimp when I am inland because you can get quality and/or quantity issues, but NONE of that was present here. I was presented with a very nice compliment of plump and fresh tasting shrimp in a truly delightful flavorful sauce. I gobbled down every morsel and then proceeded to mop up the sauce with some of their very fresh corn tortillas. My wife had some of their papusas on recommendation of some of the other Yelp reviews, something neither of us have had before. Another big hit. Varieties of different flavors inside a beautiful and pillowy shell. We enjoyed all of this with some of their fresh guacamole, not a mistake at all! Thomasville is a twenty minute drive for us, and there are many many restaurants with one form of southwestern cuisine or another much closer to us... but this place stands out. We will be making more special trips just to come here. Guaranteed.

However, my granddaughter chose this place for her birthday dinner with family. The interior does not have the same authentic Mexican feel to it as other local Mexican restaurants do, but it is spacious and open, which I appreciated. Our server was Jesse. She was wonderful! We weren't a huge party but definitely had some needs and she was on top of it all. She made sure our drinks never got empty, checked in on us without intruding on our festivities, and even found a lighter for us to use to light the birthday candles. The food was delicious! I tried their quesabirria's and it was PERFECTO!!! My daughter tried something out of the ordinary and loved it! (CAMARONES PARAISO) Infaft, everybody loved their food! As soon as we entered the restaurant you felt the good vibes with the Spanish music being played in the background. We were greeted with a smile and taken right to a table. The restaurant had a couple of tables, but it seems like a lot of people do take out as well. As I looked at the menu there were a lot of different options apart from the tacos. There were tortas, chimichangas, etc. When it came time to order the food I decided to go with the tacos. I ordered 1 taco de asada, 1 taco al pastor, and 1 taco de pollo asado. I also got a agua de jamaica (Hibiscus tea) it was also very good and refreshing. While my family and I waited for our food our server brought us chips and salsa which did not disappoint. Once my food came out I was super excited to try it out. The presentation was amazing. The tortillas were homemade, the taco was loaded with onions and cilantro, they give you a good amount of limes, some radishes on the side, and bring out 2 different salsas for you to add to your taco if you would like too. Each taco was delicious and very flavorful. I would say that my favorite one had to be the taco al pastor. The seasoning was just right and it even had pineapple in there. If you are in the area I would definitely give this a try, the food and service are both so amazing. You wont be disappointed!
