It was busy and bustling, a bit noisy, packed spaced. We were waited on my Evie who was an absolute gem, available and professional. I ordered a special taco plate with fish that was beer battered. The tacos were pretty good: pickled onions, an amazingly flavorful orange sauce. The fish was somewhat bland and kind of mushy in the middle. The rest was good. Salsa bar, guac, and chips were tasty. I also had a fresh limeade that was great. I would come back, especially for the service.

Blackberry sage had a muddled, interesting flavor to it. Think wine-y but not quite that either. The mixed berry needed more berry flavor but was okay. Lavender was best out of all, but it was teetering on sickly, almost had too much lavender syrup. For entrees, I ordered the puffy Pete chicken tacos. They came out with crema on it when I ordered it on the side, but it was quickly rectified. The portion was good. I was full by the end. The flavor was okay. Chicken cooked fine. But it didn't have much of a sweet heat kick to it without the jalapeños added. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily get it again when we go back. My fiancé ordered the Houston beef puffy taco. He thought the taco was very filling. It had meat falling out of it, which was good. It tasted like a typical ground beef taco. He hoped the chorizo would elevate it, but it didn't. It was similar to a Taco Bell beef taco. Overall, decent tacos, and it helped that it was big for the price. We want to visit again, but we'll try other menu items and stick with water. The music was fine. Country and nothing stuck out. Service was fine. She kept only giving a small amount of napkins for a messy dish, which was a bit annoying, but she was very helpful answering our questions for our first time. So she was overall helpful and pleasant.

Update for our 2026 annual visit:…read more We ate in this year and the service and ambiance matched the quality of the food we had last year. I have been looking forward to the World Ninja Championships so that I can eat here again and the team did not disappoint. I had the special, chilaquiles supreme and YES! Flank steak butterflied and so tender that I cut through it easily with a butter knife. They make the chips fresh for each order of chilaquiles and you can taste it. Generous amounts of every flavor that went into the meal and I left stuffed! Hands down, my favorite place and I have a feeling we are making a second trip here this year for sure! First impression as you walk in, or look at images of the menu: AUTHENTIC! First impressions when you bite into your food: They nailed the first impression! I had the lingua, tripa, pez, and Pastor tacos. My family had the California burrito, chicken and beef tacos, and the Enchiladas Mexicanos with mole and salsa verde. We also added a side of guac and chips. Guac: thin mixed avocado and perfectly sized chunks mixed in with the tomato and seasonings. An absolute must! The 4 tacos I ate were succulent to say the least. The tripa was thin and crispy, but you could taste the rendered fat in them. It had the texture of perfectly cooked bacon. Al pastor is one of my favorites and this one did not disappoint. Then there was the pez taco that was just the right amount of crispy without being an iota overcooked. At last I ate the lingua taco. It melted in my mouth and I immediately wanted another. I don't even like mole sauce, but I couldn't stop eating the mole enchilada. Aces, hands down. The California burrito was phenomenal and had the perfect amount of each ingredient and a delectable amount of heat and sweet cream sauce. The chicken was obviously hand shredded and had equal amounts of larger chunks of meat and thin pulled pieces to soak up all the flavor in endless nooks and crannies. If you have not been here please do your palate a flavor and stop in. The value far exceeded the price of our meals and we plan on coming here every year when the World Ninia finals rome to town

This place is SUCH a vibe! We stopped in for the first time last night to try their Twosday…read morespecial, and it was definitely worth it. The special comes with 2 margaritas of your choice, a trio of dips, 4 tacos, and 2 dessert puddings--so you get a little bit of everything! First things first: they do NOT hold back on the tequila in those margaritas, which is definitely a plus in my book. They were flavorful, refreshing, and actually tasted like there was alcohol in them! The trio of dips tasted incredibly fresh, like they were made right then and there. The guacamole was easily my favorite because they put their own spin on it with jalapeños for a little kick. I wasn't expecting the spice, but it immediately piqued my interest and made it stand out from your typical guac. For our tacos, we went with the Tex Meets Lexington because I wanted to step outside of my usual birria order, and I'm glad I did! That being said, I already know I'm coming back to try their birria tacos next time. I also love that they offer tortilla options besides flour, which I'll definitely be keeping in mind for my next visit. And THEN came dessert. ‍ We tried both the strawberry shortcake pudding and banana pudding, and both were phenomenal. Seriously, don't skip dessert! To top everything off, Andrew's hospitality was the icing on the cake. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and made our first visit even better. He also told us they have live music every Thursday, along with other events throughout the week, which gives us even more reason to come back. Great drinks, fresh food, amazing desserts, a fun atmosphere, and wonderful service--our first visit definitely won't be our last!

The vibe iscasual, and lively, making it a good place to grab a meal or hang out with friends. It's a counter-service restaurant and bar with generous portions. The food and drinks were solid, with plenty of options including tacos and BBQ. We shared one plate between three people and still had plenty of food, including leftovers to take home. I grabbed a pineapple frozen margarita that was refreshing on a hot humid summer day. We happened to visit on trivia night, but it was difficult to hear the questions, so we didn't end up participating. Parking can also be a challenge during peak visits. The AC was also pretty loud, but honestly, on a hot summer day, I was just glad they had it! The open garage doors were a nice touch and gave the space a relaxed, open-air feel. Overall, had a good experience, the food is my type of cuisine so unsure if I will be back, maybe for drinks and appetizers for sure.

True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall. I'm not often in the area, but I'll certainly eat here again if I am!
