Yes, yes and yes again! I've been wanting to try this place but I kept forgetting to go. This is my new spot! I ordered a chicken torta minus the jalapeño and a Horchata They sandwich was HUGE and DELICIOUS and the horchata coming in like a 20 ounce cup and it was life itself. Will definitely probably back tomorrow quick service and friendly service.

I've been going to Taco in a Box for awhile and love it! But the drive was too far for it to be a frequent visit. What a surprise to find a similar taco place within a few minutes of me. This quaint, hole in the wall taco shop has some amazing tacos (which I can only review because I haven't tried any of the other wonderful looking items on the menu yet). I ordered the taco de pollo, taco de chorizo, and taco asada. All on corn tortillas. And side of homemade guacamole. All absolutely delicious! And the jalapeno they included was muy caliente!! Definitely will be going back to explore more of their menu. I only wish they also sold homemade tamales.

This small, newly opened hole-in-the-wall taco joint wears its authenticity on its sleeve. Want tripa, lengua, or cachete tacos? You've got them. For those with an aversion to organ meats, you can find chicken, pork, and steak here as well in taco, quesadilla, or burrito form. Add elotes in a cup, papas, wings, and bowls, and the menu is surprisingly deep. There's little seating and no ambiance, but if you're here for takeout, don't let that stop you. Wanting a small bite, I opted for a pastor taco ($3) to go. It was prepped quickly and stayed warm during the drive home. It came in a homemade corn tortilla (yum), and it was very tasty. It wasn't the most tender version of pastor I've had, but it was perhaps the most pineapple-forward, and that jolt of sweetness and acidity was a difference-maker. I wouldn't necessarily drive out of my way to come back here - High Point has loads of taco options - but if I'm anywhere near downtown and a taco craving hits, HP Taco Shop seems like a no-brainer.

If you're craving *good* authentic tacos for a reasonable price, this is the spot! Can't talk to you about the service or establishment - because I DoorDashed lunch. 100% recommend the taco asada - this is really good and the salsa verde served with it was perfectly flavored (although, I personally prefer more heat). The guac is delicious! Chips - good! Overall very good and hits the spot for quick "authentic" tacos! Yum! Definitely adding to my lunch rotation when the craving hits!!

Ok guys! I'm back with another review I was in the mood for tacos and decided to give them another shot! Let's just say they didn't disappoint The tacos were amazing! The chicken had pineapple in it, it caught me off guard but the flavor was amazing! Glad I gave this place another chance! Place was really clean again, and the service was great!

We were very disappointed with our first experience after following the restaurant since its opening. We could have gotten better tacos at Taco Bell. The "Crunchy Tacos" were just a hard shell taco with packed shredded lettuce, a small amount of meat, and "pickled onions" that were just cut with a little lime juice on the top. Advertisements and social media posts don't represent the food that is being served. I'm giving one star since 0 isn't an option.

What you see on social media and the menu is completely different from what you actually get. I was so disappointed because their food looks so good. It was not worth the hype at all. I came here looking for authenticity, and left with store bought taco shells. It's so unfortunate because I really wanted this place to be as good as it seems.

It was good, but not great. It was a little pricey for what you get. I might eat there again, but not sure.

It had good flavor a little dry but we had green & red salsa to add which made it better, but honestly the star was the quesabirria & the consume!

It was delicious and not too salty as the usual tex mex places. Your meal also comes with a side of chips and salsa. The chips are perfectly fried and not greasy. They also have the right amount of salt. All of the ingredients are fresh. One of the things I like most, is that they have four different types of pico de gallo. One mixed with mango, another with pineapple, cucumber, and then regular. I've only tried the mango and I loved it! My husband got the quesabirria! By far authentic birria. So good! We have actually been there twice before I decided to review it. The second time I got the California burrito, which is huge but tasty. The service is impeccable and the restaurant itself is very clean, including the bathrooms. We will definitely be back for more! Highly recommended!

This is an interesting dish, one that originated in San Diego in the 1980's, and soon spread across the country. It is quite different from the burrito that originated in Northern Mexico, especially around the city of Chihuahua before 1900. The dish started with the carne asada burrito and added cheese, guacamole, sour cream, pico, and even seasoned French fries. I found this burrito interesting but it is not one I'd order again, entirely too busy for me, and the texture is all over the place. I did like the restaurant overall, and will return at some point to try some of their other offerings.

I will only eat here for Mexican foods if I come to high point. The prices were reasonable as well. There was a guy who came to us later and asked how was the food. With what I learned, I just can't see myself going back and anybody who has Alpha-Gal syndrome, you may want to really think twice about what you ordered here. I ordered a vegetarian combo meal and got the food, I ate it and about a half hour later I was on the toilet, and it was not a fun night. I called the restaurant the next day because I've had this happen to me before, although with this place, I ordered through GrubHub so I wasn't able to ask questions, but you assume when something is listed as vegetarian that it actually is. Anyway, the refried beans are sometimes fried and vegetable oil, sometimes fried and lard. The day that I ordered mine, well all week they had been fried and lard which makes them not vegetarian. When you stop consuming those types of animal byproducts your stomach doesn't know how to digest them so I had this food and my body immediately was like what's going on and sure enough trying to reject it. Somebody who has Alpha Gal syndrome like I mentioned earlier can get super sick from this, like it could have serious detrimental effect on them.

The service is good as the staff is friendly and prompt on checking on you or refilling your chips and salsa. Ambiance is friendly although it was a bit cold the day we went so we left our jackets on throughout dinner. Business there is typically steady so if you go at a peak time there may be a wait. We went at 5:30 on a Friday and got right in but by the time we left around 7, the wait was a few people deep. The food is always good and portions are large. As with most Mexican places, they start you off with chips and salsa. The chips do not have salt on them so you may need to add it if you enjoy a salted chip. The salsa is good and not very spicy although my wife who doesn't do spice said it was a little much for her. I had the Cocina plate which is chicken, shrimp, and steak with onions, peppers, mushrooms, and cheese sauce over rice. This is my go to as it's delicious and always hits the spot. My wife had a fajita quesadilla that was overflowing with meat and veggies and she really enjoyed. We tried some of their Paloma drinks this last time which were very strong but had good flavor.
